I do not eat here often but the wife and I like to travel out here to enjoy the local shops but when we do we love to stop by Denny's and this one has always been a great experience for us. The food unfortunetly was so salty that I was uncomfortable for 2 days. After a small amount of looking online I found out this is a common problem with Denny's and they have been used for it. Stopped in for a late dinner. Just me, road tired and still long way to go. Needed a sit down rest stop with a decent meal. First thing noticed was a lady with a to go order the server clearly forgot to put in - so she was upset and irritated. Server seemed a bit defensive (instead of sympathetic). Turns out, that server was mine too - so my experience was bad too. Took my order standing behind me and looking over my shoulder. Who does that? Stand so guest can see you, make eye contact and instead of "ready" how about something more along the lines of being pleasant? Being in a hurry and without pleasantries does not bring any guest comfort (and they are paying you). Ordered spam. (Didn't ask what kind of bread / toast - which I didn't realize until meal came. (Server question missed) Asked for side of salsa (I think Dennys gave up salsa??) said they ran out - but didn't correct the $1.98 charge on the final bill. (Another issue - didn't correct the bill and I would have paid it if not looking). Not correcting the bill either incompetent or malicious. Padding the check? Then a discount to correct - instead of remove (shows extra $2 in sales he did not have. No refill on my drink - didn't even come to ask u til ate my meal. Drinks $4 now so guess I'm getting water. I can get a gallon of tea for less than $4 - and I got half ice and tea for $4. Too much now. Came by at end then left with no dirty dishes - left then there for me to see and move around. (Take dirty dishes away servers. / it is not busy ) Server clearly sub standards and questionable - Don't care if you do your side work - but don't ignore the guests while doing it - only had 2 tables at the time. Review of the server is harsh - tip $1. Dennys food and inside restaurant was good - but my stop was not relaxing. Servers need to do better with the traveling guests !! read more

Good outing this time. Fast service by Will and the cook. All was as ordered. Great place for use to take our grandkids and we sat around for most of an extra hour and played a card game with them since it wasn't busy. Nice to have a place like Denny's close by. read more

Waited over 40 minutes for 2 entrees and an app. server never told us it would take that long. there was 4 other tables. an off the clock worker got her food before the customers. the table next to us got and finished our food before we had to leave. also someone felt like saying "bye boo" when we decided we didn't want to wait. i would personally recommend mcdonald's for better service. didn't realize i should wait over 30 mins for mozzarella sticks. read plenty of good reviews for here. but with 5 servers and 1 cook. destined for failure. read more

My hubby and I stop at this location when we're in town for a day trip. This Denny's is always great. The moons over my hammy is by far my favorite. It always comes out hot and fresh and the coffee is never empty. This store is clean and tidy and the general ambiance is welcoming and friendly. We frequent this Dennys alot. The server know us and are all very friendly . This is the best Dennys to eat breakfast at. Their pancakes are always fluffy and delicious. I live to get a fresh cup of coffee and cold glass of of with my meal. I've tried alot of stuff on the menu. The have the best bang for your buck. So many specials throughout the day so breakfast isn't the only time to get a great meal. I love the cinnamon roll pancakes so warm and gooey, and sweet perfect to share. Such exceptional service here!! Our car broke down and we had our dog and were very overheated and the amazing manager, Joe, was very kind and he and let us stay in the lobby. Hubby and I ate here today, short staffed when we arrived, after 2:00 pm, but the waitress was great, she handled everything in perfection and the cook/chef did an excellent job, he was handling it all by himself also. My husband was there a while ago and wasn't happy with his meal, so I'm glad we gave them another chance today. Seems people are quick to criticize when they have an issue, but few people comment when everything went great, so we are leaving a review even though we seldom do. Very clean inside too! We were driving from Phoenix to Vegas one Saturday morning. Like the quitters we are, we decided to stop in Wickenburg to patronize their Denny's. What an experience. First of all, let me preface by saying I've never really been to Wickenburg. What a treat. We were seated at the bar after a brief wait. Initially, I wasn't in love with the idea of sitting at the bar, but we got an up close view of the sitcom that is the Wickenburg Denny's. From the broken coffee makers to the sassy cooks, we saw it all. As for my meal, I ordered the build your own slam, consisting of eggs, hash browns, bacon, and SALTED CARAMEL & BANANA CREAM PANCAKES. I cannot emphasize that last part enough. The meal, by itself, pancakes aside, was enjoyable. However, the pancakes are what earned this Denny's its stars. They were incredible and make slow service forgivable. read more

A bit of a disappointment. The sign on Highway 60 westbound 3 miles east of town said "Denny's. Always Open" From their website, in part: "For more than 65 years, Denny's has been bringing people together over great food. It's the place where people can relax and be themselves while enjoying classic American comfort food and everyday value, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year." Nope. We drove out Tegner and though the lights were on, the restaurant was locked. No vehicles in the parking lot. Posted hours: closes at midnight. We were there at 7:51 PM and the restaurant was closed. Oops. I know that they're having difficulties getting local kids to work there. Not sure what the problem is, but in four years of stopping by here to eat, I've never seen the same person twice working there. The high school kids that work here need to learn how to interact with customers. A few of them need to learn a little about personal hygiene. These problems usually start at the top, so the very first thing I'd change about the restaurant is management. Denny's is trying to re-brand itself as a hamburger emporium. How about rebranding your image first? How about polishing your image? How about cleaning your bathroom twice a year instead of once? Honestly, I've never seen a white porcelain sink look so black and brown. How about hiring the RIGHT people? How about beginning by hiring staff who are experienced in working with people, rather than just hiring to put people in the restaurant who also happen to be employees? Granted, Wickenburg is a small town with socialist teachers who teach kids that businesses owe them a living, paying physician wages: every 18 year old should own a house... from working at Denny's for a month. I had very low expectations coming here. Let me tell you,the hospitality here is outstanding. Everyone is REALLY friendly. I try a vegetarian omelet where ever I go for breakfast. This one is one of the better ones I've had in a long time. The veggies were fresh and sautéed. The fruit cup was also good. The hashbrowns were crisp and golden. We knew we could count on Dennys to be open on Easter morning for breakfast in Wickenburg. It has been many years since we last visited a Dennys, but our experience rated 5 stars. Both breakfast meals we ordered were perfectly prepared, the whole grain pancakes and the omelet were exceptional. The service we received was outstanding, and because we sat at the counter, we were able to listen and observe the positive teamwork exhibited by the entire staff of 10-12 people. We eat at many restaurants, mostly 3 and 4 stars, but this Dennys was one of the best and most enjoyable meals we have had in a long time. The service was slow, we were never offered refills, and we never saw our arrive until I ffg lagged down 2 staff that worked there to tell our waitress that we have been waiting for our check by this time many people had gone I dont know why she was so busy. Needless to say when I finally got to pay the check I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip I'm not a mean or rude person so instead of saying no tip I left $3 something is better than nothing. read more

We went with a group of 9 Adults at 6 p.m. for a Birthday celebration dinner. There was only a few tables with customers. WOW, has this place gone down hill fast! We were told upon walking in by our waitress that she was working alone. The place wasn't busy so how bad could it be??? She took our order fairly quickly and brought my salad right away. Then it was a long, long wait. The cook was moving at the rate of molasses on a cold day. He was in no hurry and could only do one order at a time and managed to screw up the order before ours. After a 40 minute wait we walked. We did tip the waitress as she was apologetic. Also, I have an issue with a manager reprimanding an employee where patrons can hear. I would have given one star but our waitress was genuinely nice and apologized again for the long, long wait. We stopped here on our way from Prescott back to Tucson. We both ordered a basic breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. We were pleased with our meals and the value. My husband and I are both pretty picky about our hash browns, wanting them crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. These were perfect. The eggs were cooked just the way we like them. For a very small upcharge, we traded regular buttermilk pancakes for the pumpkin ones. They were delicious with just a little drizzle of pecan sauce. We usually love this Denny's in Wickenburg but last night was disgusting. As we walked up to the front desk there was a terrible sewer odor. We decided against dinner and thought coffee and pie would be safe. Everything was fine, wait staff was great. As we left we decided to use the restrooms. Yuck! We will never be back.
