I don't like giving out poor ratings. I don't like complaining. But sometimes, there's a dining experience that transcends "bad" and goes into downright unsanitary. Normally, I would think it was because I was in a large group of people, but the kind of problems I saw were unrelated to the size of my (massive) party. Just to clarify, the waiters and waitresses were not the problem. They did the best they could, especially considering that I was in a group of about 50-60 people, all eating in one reserved room. They were spread thin, but did a good job anyway. My hat off to them. I've been to restaurants that were only modestly cleaned, but in this case, well: Dirty flatware. Enough said. And when I asked the waiter to replace my dirty flatware, I received more dirty flatware. Ugh. But what truly killed it for me, was the dirty bathroom. I felt dirty just standing in it, without even touching anything. But what really took the cake was the un-flushed toilet with diarrhea leftovers ON THE SEAT (I'm not exaggerating as badly as you may think I am either). That was the only toilet (that I was aware of) in the men's room. Their menu looks good, though. In fact, I was pleasant;y surprised by the variety, and how it even included some rather unique items. But considering that there are plenty of other Denny's restaurants across the state of Pennsylvania with this exact same menu, that's not enough to save it. read more

Visited on a Friday night after ComicCon. By the wait to be seated, it was readily apparent that they were short staffed. The food on 3 out of 4 dishes was cold. Probably sitting on counter for too long. Only reason mine was still warm was due to the skillet it was served in. Slow service. I had the black raspberry cake for dessert - cake tasted raw, too yeasty. Forgot the tomatoes which were requested in the grilled cheese. Food taste was average. I walked into this place and there were people waiting to be seated with plenty of open seats, not hostess to be found, it looked very understaffed and most horrendously, it smelled strongly like urinal cakes. My 10 year old disagree said "why does it smell like a gas station bathroom, daddy?" We turned around and left and went to iHop. I think this may be a pandemic check problem. no one wants to go back to work when they are getting free money. read more

This was the worst! Big clumps of hair in my food, food was cold, and after we send the food back with the hair in it, we received a new plate with more strands of hair. To top it off the waitress and manager were very rude and interrupted every time we tried to speak. read more

This Denny's can go either way. Before the remodel I always had terrible service and it was always dirty. But I've gone about three times after the remodel and it just looks so much nicer and cleaner and have actually had great service! Majority of the time the food is consistent and good. read more

It is Denny's.... Let's just start off saying...It is Denny's. What did you really expect. I went to York to see a friend this past weekend and for breakfast we went to Denny's. This is not a great place by any means but I am going to give it three stars and say it is A-OK! Why? Our waitress was absolutely wonderful. I thought she was right out of a "Mel's Diner" ~~ Also she let me basically re-write the menu item I wanted as I am on Weight Watchers. The main food was good (the fruit was not that great and it was apple and grape...).... I have been there before and I am sure I will be there again. read more

Found a roach crawling on my table while I was eating. I went up to the owner and told him about it, and he didn't believe me. Luckily, I squished him in a napkin, and took it over to show him. He did take off my portion of the meal, but not my friends tab. Gross! read more

Called Friday evening 11.10.17 was wondering about their Veterans Day special for 11.11.17 Girl answered the phone seemed to be bothered by me calling to ask me then rudely told me I missed it and that it was Friday am and not Saturday am, very rude for a simple question for a veteran that helps our country everyday. Don't have a promo if your staff are going to be disrespectful. Veterans deserve a lot more then a free breakfast. Won't ever eat here now. Be the face or voice of a restaurant be polite to everyone. The 2 servers in our section were working had trying to keep up, clean tables & ring customers out. Stacy was our server very polite food was OK definitely didn't look like the pictures. The whole time the manager on duty was walking in circles not helping with clearing tables not checking customers out. I felt bad. Sharon the other server who rang us out was very polite as well. My mom and I went to Denny's because she was looking for comfort food after a horrible day and almost ripping her arm off with the snow blower.(Literally, ripped ligaments) We had an amazing waitress that was prompt, kind and very sweet. She had amazing yellow nails. I ordered the country fried steak and asked to have white gravy all over my mashed potatoes and country friend steak. It comes out with brown gravy on my potatoes. They take it back. Now I have what appears to be sausage gravy over everything. 1st of all. I was just in there maybe a week or so ago and had the same. darn. meal. And the gravy did NOT look, smell or taste that way. 2nd. The manager comes out to our table disgusted because I sent it back wanting different gravy. Brings out the same exact gravy that is on my plate but with sausage hunks and said..."we changed our gravy, that isn't sausage gravy *points to my plate* (shows me a plate of "other gravy") this is sausage gravy, I should know. I made the one on your plate." Then proceeded to ARGUE with me. Now. White gravy is made with butter, flower and milk with paper. Pure white gravy like I had the week before, and the one that is advertises isn't suppose to TASTE OR SMELL like sausage. I'm from Texas, don't mess with someone who knows what kind of gravy is what. The problem here is this, 1. She argued with me. 2. Just make it right, with out the sausage oil in the damn pan. 3. Don't be a jackass to me when I correct you and tell you I am not eating your sausage gravy. If I treated you the way I was just treated...my Manager/Supervisor would have written me up! (Yes, I work customer service too) It was HORRIBLE. I have quit eating there because of the food and the service but wanted to indulge my mother's wants after her horrible day. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. And the manager could take some pointers from her staff on how to be understanding and professional. Went to Denny's for a Sunday afternoon breakfast. The remodeled store was very nice. We ordered 2 breakfasts, the first was the new "super blackberry pancake breakfast" which was very generous. According to the photo on the menu it was one plate of food, but when it arrived it was 2 plates, one plate of giant pancakes and one plate of hash browns, eggs and 1 sausage and 1 strip of bacon (it was advertised to come with 2 strips of bacon, which our waitress corrected). The second breakfast was the "hearty breakfast skillet" which was pathetically small, the food did not even cover the bottom of the skillet. It did not fill me up and I almost always have leftovers when eating any dish at any restaurant.I have ordered various skillet dishes at an assortment of Denny's restaurants and have never failed to be disappointed; most of their foods are portioned generously, however this NEVER seems to be the case with the skillet meals. read more

I had only been here once and last time. We had came back from the airport and hadn't ate in 8 hours and we had gone to another restaurant and we are all pissed off. We were waiting for 10 minutes but had gotten a seat with a nasty waitress. We had sat there for 30-45 minutes and a table that had came before us had gotten their drinks, meal, and had paid. We had gotten up and went to talk to the manager. The waitress and the waiter didn't want to let us go back but had went anyway. The manager was also mean.
