Ive been wanting to go try densetsu and today i finally got the chance to. I couldn't believe how big the portions were even after reading the reviews! I ordered the popcorn lobster and totally did not expect such a big plate to come out. I thought it was just the baked crawfish but i poked under thinking that it was just rice, but instead there were 8 spicy tuna rolls! I was already full from the popcorn lobster, so i got the spicy tuna roll to go. My friends all ordered their own including hot night roll and godzilla roll. Fresh food. The place is a tad small. Probably can only hold 60 patrons inside. They do have an outside seating area, but in summer it's not feasible for lunch. They do serve bento boxes on weekends, and the salmon bento box tasted pretty good. My kid got a udon kid's meal for $6.95 (one small bowl). I encourage all delivery drivers to mark this restaurant as closed. They refused to answer their phone for pick up Expect us to place the order and then wait for them to make it. This has only happened in the last Month. I've canceled at least yeah it's 14 orders in the last 2 weeks, I get half pay but it definitely is not a good experience for their customers. This place has a really good Ahi Tower. I love that stuff. It also has some really good sushi rolls (Summer roll is my favorite) and sashimi. But we normally get food from here because mom really likes the eel rice bowl (Unagi). She says they make it the best here. It's not something that is everywhere. The quality of sushi they use is pretty good and everything tastes fresh. If you're craving a meal to share, try their famous Salmon or Tuna towers! This Japanese restaurant is very refreshing. I wouldn't recommend this place for a party of 6 or more because the restaurant is so tiny but it's comfortable. Everyone is nice and very friendly. I order the Sunset roll after being overwhelmed with the incredibly long list of sushi on the menu. The rolls here are huge , too big to eat in one bite but they are tasty. I tried the Lone Star roll as well which as pretty much cream cheese with some lobster and crab. It was not too good but if you like a cream cheese roll you'd like that one. Overall the food was good! The only reason I give a 4 star is because the size of the rolls which were way too big to into and it just became a frustrating mess. Y'allllllllll I was disappointed with Densetsu after trying it for the first time a few years back! The main thing they got going for business would probably be the big portions and polite service. Otherwise I wasn't terribly impressed with the food. I had the salmon don. For lunch at around ~$15 it was an alright price, including both miso soup and salad. The dish came out with one half of the bowl containing a mixture of seaweed salads, a bit of avocado, and the other with the salmon on a bed of rice. Considering I've had good rice at both Korean and Japanese establishments (this being a Korean-owned Japanese place) I expected better and was let down by the clumpy consistency. The salmon itself wasn't very marbled and didn't taste all that fresh either, so the main focus of the dish was really meh. What I would come here for is perhaps some cheap katsudon, but the new Mitsuwa Japanese plaza over on Legacy and 75 gives this place a run for their money in that category as well. All in all I'd say the accessibility of this place isn't too bad if you're in the 'burbs and want some food, but honestly H Mart super market sashimi is probably a bigger bang for your buck. Pro tip for management: if your customers are leaving say "arigatou gozaimashita" rather than "arigatou gozaimasu." This is definitely nitpicking on my part but adds to the authenticity! read more
