I got the Angry John Roll and the Sushi Omakase: The Angry John roll was DELICIOUS and HUGE! It was such a filling roll with a generous amount of fish. I would order it again! The flavors and spiciness paired very well together to have a great combination in every bite. The Sushi Omakase had 10 different pieces of nigiri to try which was awesome! The quality of some fish didn't seem too high, so I didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the roll. Had their lunch sushi combination (with the spicy tuna roll) for $13.95. It also came with a nice salad and miso soup. The salad dressing was paired well with the tomatoes and cucumber. I would have appreciated the rice layer in the sushi to be a little thinner. The spicy tuna was not very spicy so would have appreciated more of a kick. The chef's choice of sushi did not disappoint. Tried out Densetsu and I loved the creamy udon noodles. Everything we ate: nikugen akai udon: noodles and sauce were delicious black garlic ramen: typical ramen nikugen shiro udon with tempura chicken (&spicy sauce): one of our favorites!! We subbed the spice from the niguken akai and added it to the shiro udon. 8/10! This place took my sushi virginity away some years ago and now I can't get enough!! Their fish is always fresh, and their rolls are HUGE so you definitely get what you pay for. Densetsu is one of the few sushi restaurants that actually make me full. It's a hidden gem since it's rather far from the other restaurants located at the Dallas/Plano area, but it's worth the drive. The portions are huge, and the service was attentive. I ordered their nikku udon while my boyfriend got the red mountain roll. The portions are HUGE, and all the food is moderately priced. While each order only has a few sushi rolls, the rolls are huge. Huge to the point I don't think it's even possible to shove an entire roll in your mouth without struggling. Their specialty rolls are sometimes covered with a large quantity of garnishes to the point you can barely see the rice. We got oranges for dessert when we were handed the check. Came on a Friday and there was definitely a line out the door. We decided to wait, and about 15 minutes later got a seat at the sushi bar. It was worth the wait for the food. Price to freshness and quantity ratio was on point! Ambiance was normal. Service wasn't really that great, but I think that was because of how busy it was... They definitely failed my water test. I use to this place. When I arrived I was seated but it took a while for the server to come to ask if I needed anything. Once I ordered they brought out part of my food but not all of it. When I asked for the rest of it, I was told it didn't come with my order and I had to tell her ... yes, but I ordered it in addition and then she said, oh let me get it. The California rolls are much smaller than they were but still tasted the same. The sesame chicken was over cooked and hard to chew. Then I felt rushed... as I was still eating they brought me the check and then kept coming by to ask if it was ready. I kept replying I'm still eating. Average Japanese place, the entire positive rage on yelp is due to the portion sizes. I like high quality sushi and sashimi so I don't go for portion sizes when I go out for sushi. First you can't order direct from the sushi bar you have to order from their staff. Most of them don't speak English, I asked for crab meat as substitute to rice in hand rolls and the server said that they don't do that they put it on the side. When the order came was a HUGE ball of crab meat on the plate which I returned. The poki appetizer is full of tomatoes so it looks huge but is hardly any fish in it. I have never seen a poki full of tomatoes. There are better choice in Plano Texas then this place but if you like HUGE portions of poor quality enjoy! read more

The 3 stars is more like a 3.5. Came here for a birthday dinner, and I will say, it's quite an ideal location for celebratory events like that. I ordered the salmon tower, which is one of their top sellers, and I suppose I can see why. It was pretty big, which makes it worth the slightly steep price, and it was pretty tasty. But there just wasn't anything all that special about it. The first few bites I took were great, but it gets a little heavy after a while. There is quite a bit of their special sauce in it, and it gets to be a little too much. While the salmon seemed fresh, I just didn't think it was anything special. I tried some of my friends orders, and it seemed to be pretty common on a lot of orders for them to use a lot of sauce. If you're looking for a vibey restaurant that has sushi and don't care TOO much about quality, I'd recommend this place.
