Horrible. I Had an appointment scheduled for 4 weeks only to get a call from them the day before saying they had an issue with my insurance. Long story short, there was never an issue with my insurance but they wanted me to pay "just in case". Very lazy operation. read more

Careful! I went here years ago and they tried to tell me I needed four root canals....which was interesting because I'd already HAD four root canals done at another dental office. They then proceeded to show me on my X-rays where exactly I needed the root canals. They pointed to the places where the roots showed bright white - which if you know how to read a dental X-ray then you know those are COMPLETED root canals - and they actually told me that white part is infection. I told them I thought the white means it's a finished root canal and they repeated that no, that white part means it's infected and a root canal needs to be done. I declined any services and went home to google it and sure enough, I was right. They were actually going to try to scam me into paying for four root canals which I'd already had done! read more

Not a good place to go. I was in the waiting room and heard the manager call a patient and apologize that she sent her home with the wrong prescription. When the patient asked if she should bring it back, the manager stated she should just toss it. Once I got called in the dental assistant didn't know what she was doing and it took two other assistants to figure out how to work the machinery. the doctor apologized for the inconvenience but I definitely don't feel safe to go back there again - let alone to have any procedure done there. read more

Had 4 fully grown wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Vahedi. His work was precise, and left me feeling confident in my healing process. Highly recommend. PS - Only felt 1 stitch therefore the minimal incisions done had a huge factor in the swelling process as my face was not like a chipmunks cheeks AT ALL. (very minor swelling) Request to keep the teeth before the operation. read more

I am very satisfied with the dental treatment I received by this dentist. I'm writing the review after two weeks. After such time, I can really say that everything has worked out very nicely. A month ago, I had a broken filling that required a new crown. I went to my regular Dentist (Pasadena Family, Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry who are great). The root of my tooth got exposed during the removal of the filling. A week after I ended up with some pain and needing a root canal. Dr. Altina Karimyan from Pasadena Family, Cosmetic & Implant Dentistry is really great and she was going to take care of my tooth in the midst of the coronavirus lock down. However, the same day of my treatment, my dentist had to stay home, and sent a referral to Dental Specialty Center. I called them and I was given a great explanation by Ms. Zepur Antounian of the procedure I was most likely going to need. When I arrived (easy parking in front) I found the office very clean. They were following the recommendations to prevent infections from the coronavirus spread really well. I was also pleased to see that they had taken care of everything with my insurance. I first was visited by a technician regarding the X rays, and I was very well treated and informed at all times. Moreover, at every step, the rooms were very clean. Finally, Dr. Lyla Boustani came in and gave me a very detailed and clear summary about the status of my tooth. I also got quite a bit of additional information that she could see from the X rays in general. I appreciated very much to understand a few things that I had not realized until she told me. Next, I moved to the room where the root canal would be done. The room had been sterilized (I had been waiting 15 min extra for that) and all the personal was properly dressed. Dr. Boustani explained me all details about the procedure, as well as how long it was going to take each step. I was asked many times how I was feeling and updated about the next steps. During all the time I spent at the office, I could really realize how good professionals they are. At the end, they even gave me a new face mask to use it when going to the pharmacy. The very same night of the root canal I had no pain (!) and slept well for the first time in several days. It just went better every day and could resume working at home. I was given a referral to Dental Specialty Center by my dentist to have all four of my wisdom teeth removed. When I called to make the appointment I was never offered a consultation. I was just given an appointment in 3 weeks and told I would be called with a quote after my primary and secondary insurance were processed. I didn't hear from them that week so I called back the next week to ask again about a quote and to ask about pre-op instructions. The receptionist said whoops I forgot to run your insurance just don't eat or drink for 8 hours prior to the surgery. Another two weeks went by with no call from their office. I am supposed to be having surgery there on January 8th. Two days from now. I call and she says oh someone tried to call you on December 22nd to tell you they were having trouble locating you in the insurance system. I received no missed calls or voice mails that day. They had my correct phone number on file. I gave the receptionist the additional information needed to find me on my husband's insurance. I then asked have you received all of my dental records and x-rays from my dentist? They hadn't even requested them yet. I was due to be put under anesthesia in 2 days and have all four of my wisdom teeth removed and I had received no communication whatsoever from their office besides what I was able to pry out of the receptionist when I called. Do not go to this office. Even if the surgeon is the best in the area (I have no idea and will not be finding out) their office staff is so completely incompetent I would never trust them to put me under anesthesia and perform surgery on me. I called my primary dentist and recommended that they never refer anyone to this office every again. They have set me up with another oral surgeon for a consultation. read more

Great dentists and nurses work here. I have nothing bad to say about that. The office staff however are completely unorganized. I came here to get my wisdom teeth removed, which required a special x-Ray. It was covered under my insurance but the office manager (Zep) didn't call to get a verbal authorization. 2 months after my surgery (and after paying my bill) I get a bill in the mail for the x-Ray. I called the office and was completely dismissed and told it was my fault. Thankfully my insurance did pay for it after many days of calls and filing complaints. Once again, I have the upmost respect for the medical staff here, especially Dr. Olson. However, the office is completely disorganized and the entire process was way more stressful than necessary. I would honestly think about looking elsewhere. read more

This place is a joke! No one should ever go here! I was referred to them through my primary dentist (which by the way is the best dentist I've ever had, so i trusted his referral). First of all, when I get there, I check in and the receptions begins to tell me that she called and left me that my insurance did not cover my gum graft, it only covered emergency dental services. First of all, she lied about leaving a message (my voicemail is not set up) and I also happened to bring my entire plan packet to show that it was covered. Not only did both of these terrible receptionist argue with me about my insurance, they also gave me a lot of attitude, and were extremely rude. I had to call my insurance and put the receptionist on the phone to confirm i had coverage. I then saw both receptionists in the mirror directly across from their window whisper to each other, and wave their hand, as they seemed to be planning to dismiss me. After the insurance confirmed i had coverage, i went in to see the periodontists to be evaluated. He did a quick exam and told me he has had little to no success with this procedure. His name is Dr. Roeder, by the way. My question is how are you a periodontist and not know a procedure you are supposed to specialize in? They tried to rip me off and when they couldn't, they booted me out and told me to get a different referral. This place should be shut down. These people have no idea what they are doing!!!! I'm very afraid of dentist and oral surgeons given the fact that I got botched painful work many times in the past, so I went to see Dr. Vahadi very afraid for my wisdom tooth removal. Dr. Vahadi is wonderful and I didn't feel pain during the procedure or after, he is kind, compassionate and very professional. He gave me the anesthesia with so much expertise that it didn't even hurt at all! I am so impressed by his amazing service. I recommend this place for anyone who seeks for dental work done by an expert who will solve your dental problem without causing you other problems such as pain and psychological. This review is about the Glendale "Dental Specialty Center" location. I have to have 3 wisdom teeth extracted 2 being partially impacted and the lower one being fully impacted. The bottom tooth is laying right on top of the nerve. It is causing extreme pain. I went to many dentist around town in Burbank, Glendale and Beverly Hills. I wanted to really do my homework and see who would be the best to take care of me. All of the other dentists offered FREE consultations and x-rays. They're equipment was state of the art, 3-D X-rays, cutting edge gadgets..the whole sha-bang. They were very thorough with their information and made sure that they completely answered all of my questions. The staff was great and also answered my questions about scheduling and financial obligations completely. My last stop of the day was to the Dental Specialty Center. When I got in the office, I filled out the paperwork and then waited about 15 min to be seen. They asked if I had x-rays..which I did..however, that was the first time that any dentist had asked me that...seems like most dentist like to do their own x-rays to keep on file...but..whatever. The office was very old , but clean. Nothing state of the art...which was ehh ok... The dentist came in, he was nice. He told me pretty much what all the other dentists have told me..... and was done. In total he spent NO MORE than 2 min. with me. Then said "I'm going to finish filling out this paperwork.." and vanished, leaving me in the treatment room for another 5 min. Finally, someone comes in and escorts me to an office. Then another woman comes in and tells me how much everything is going to cost... pointing at and writing on MY x-ray that I brought in...However, she's pointing at the wrong teeth..when I correct her...she gives a touch of attitude. I ignore that. Then she starts to tuck the x-rays in a folder...."Uuhhh..excuse me. I'm going to need to take those. You can make a copy, but I need to keep them." I say quickly. She makes copies. After she's done explaining the cost, I ask "Do you have any type of receipt...quote...piece of paper that I can take home with this estimate?" She just stares at me like I'm speaking in Taki Taki. "Never mind ....I'll just write it down" I say. "Yeah, just write it down." she quickly says. Off of my look, I guess she felt like I was bothered. So, she wrote it down on a card as well..AFTER I had put the info in my phone. Then she says "Now, the consultation fee...Did you know about that?" "Ummm...No. If I had of known about a consultation fee, I would've never came here." She then leaves and another woman comes in. "The consultation fee is $95." I repeat to her what I told the other woman. "I knew nothing about a fee. I didn't sign anything saying that you charged a fee..and now you're saying that you want me to pay...Why wasn't I told this when I walked in the door?" "We have to get paid." she said smugly. "Well, there will have to be some kind of exception made since, #1 I wasn't made aware of a fee, #2 I didn't sign anything stating there would be a fee and #3 I brought my own x-rays and clearly, the dentist was in some kind of a rush since he saw me for 2 min. I was waiting in the waiting room longer than the consult." At this point I was very upset. This had to be the most shady, ghetto dental office that I had ever been in! "I'm going to send you a bill and if you don't pay it, I'm going to send you to collections." She said with a smile. I left. Not only are the staff unprofessional and rude, they expect for you to get services with them after they treat you like crap. It's not about the money, it's truly about the principal. DO NOT GO TO DENTAL SPECIALTY CENTER in Glendale. They will completely waste your time, then tell you they will send you to collections. Horrible. read more

If you are looking for a REALLY good children's dentist. Look no further. Dr. Yu, does such an amazing job with my daughter. She can be difficult and I am firm disbeliever in tying kids down and/or drugging them into submission. She works with my daughter and her demeanor is just incredible. She is fast., I had the same job done at another dentist for my other kid, go figure, they needed near the same work and she was MUCH faster and my child was much happier for it. She is naturally great with children. read more

I started going here few years go with my daughter to see pediatric dentist 1-2 times a year. They only had once a week slots available, it was hard to book an appoitment but the doctors where fine. The major issue most of the time is scheduling, their pricing, and dealing with receptionists. The wait time was usually 30 min and I am not sure how they price or bill. They keep coming up with amounts a year later. Dealing with people at the office front desk is very difficult and they can be really rude. My kids like the new doctor they started seeing but I am not sure I want to deal with the people in the office. read more

I wish I would have read the reviews before coming here. Apparently I'm not the only person who experienced poor service by this office's receptionists. When I arrived they said they couldn't verify my insurance. I explained how they can find the correct way to verify me. The 2 receptionists then looked at each other and giggled like, "Ooops". Yeah, real professional to tell a person when they show up that they cant verify your insurance. Either way, I gave them my insurance card and one of them handed me a form to complete. I began to walk away and out of the corner of my eye I see one of them (the older one) roll her eyes and wave me away. I caught them by surprise when I turned around because I wasn't sure that I just saw what I thought I saw and sure enough she had that face like "Uh, did she just see me????" So I took a couple of steps away and sure enough saw them in the mirror making faces. I thought to myself, "I should address these 2 minimum-wage-dead-end-job-no-career-having expletives" but I didn't. Obviously, they're pretty unhappy in their own lives if they sit there bad-mouthing and disrespecting their paying customers. There's not much more I could have said to them but "good luck with your pathetic lives". I also feel really poorly about this entire office after having this experience. Either one of 2 things is happening: The person who is in charge of customer service doesn't read their reviews on yelp or the office staff is banging somebody in charge because I cant imagine them letting this horrendous pair continue being employed knowing how they're treating their customers. It doesn't matter to me, I wont be going back. read more

If you want a professional, caring, clean dental office, look no further. I had an excellent experience while getting a dreaded root canal. Everyone I dealt with from the front office, to the manager and Dr Lyla Boustani were excellent. The job was done with very little pain and discomfort. All procedures were well explained. The is the most unorganized office I have ever been in. The front desk receptionist is very sweet but don't know anything about their office.I called scheduled an appointment with the Dentist during my call I mentioned that I am new patient never once I have been told that 1st app is only consultation. I cancelled my all my activities for that day because I was suppose to be there for an hour or so and right after I had to go and see my other dentist to finish the work. I went it they took x rays than the dentist came in did her consultation and told me that she cant see me because the fist time they ONLY do consultation (took 5 min). I am not getting a plastic surgery or any other major surgery for you to tell me to make a separate app just for consultation. and your telling me this NOW. worst experience ever!!!! read more
