We have had a repeated fridge leak. We called Denver's Best and they sent a technician the same day which was great. The problem is that when he arrived he had no idea what the problem was and charged us the $80 service call fee for no service. He looked at our refrigerator for 30 minutes. Told us he couldn't find any problems and said next time there is a leak try to see what is happening. I called a professional to fix a fridge that has leaked water twice now- and the professional had no idea what was wrong. He said this happens a lot- if he can't see an active issue he doesn't know enough to diagnose. I would not recommend this business. From the first interaction, service felt scattered, although, a technician was able to get to me next day. When he arrived he seemed rushed. Before he even assessed my washer he began to tell me how terrible a brand it was. When he confirmed the issue, rather than giving me my options, it felt as though he was trying to sway me to buy one of the machines he sells independently. When I asked for all of my options, he made it seem as though repair was just not worth it, giving me about a $650 estimate with parts and labor. Little did I know that my machine actually has a 10 year parts warranty. He made no mention of this. Surely, it is my duty to know warranties for my machine, but the general sense of the entire experience was "buy my machine, it's not worth my time to fix this for you (let alone help you by notifying you of this warranty you qualify for". The warranty information is stamped right on the top of my machine. Maybe he didn't know, maybe he WAS just in a hurry that day. This is the second time I had called them. A few months ago, I had a fan broken in my GE fridge. The tech that came out was professional and answered all the questions that I had. I wasn't sure whether I should replace the fridge or it was worth fixing it. With the price that he quoted me, I made the right decision by fixing it, since they also have an extended warranty. When my Kitchen Aid dishwasher broke last Thursday, I called them again. It was a different repairman, but he was as good as the first one. He diagnosed the problem (apparently it was the pump issue). He didn't have this specific model on the truck, but came back within 1 1/2 hours and replaced the pump in no time. The price was reasonable (I had it compared) and the service was extremely professional. I also like the fact that they are really good in following up, the tech calls when he is on his way, and the dispatchers are very courteous. This makes a big difference to me when choosing any kind of a home service. read more

Do not use this company. They will charge you $70 just to show up, regardless of whether they attempt to repair anything. The quote we received was comical, the technician literally had no idea what he was doing. He looked at our dishwasher and just shrugged his shoulders. He made a guess on what 'could' be wrong, then proceeded to write an estimate for more than $400 for parts and labor on our dishwasher, which is more than a new dishwasher costs. I just had Arnold come out to look at my broken LG washing machine that has bit the dust on Sunday. Arnold stated that it could be a sensor or it could be the motor but unless we changed the sensor we wouldn't know.. I took a gamble and authorized the purchase of the sensor. Arnold said he would be by in the morning to change it out. Thankfully I got a call from him same day in the evening and he said he could come by and change it out same day. He was here for about 20 minutes and the washer was up and working again. Arnold was very courteous and prompt and I appreciate the work he did. I would give 5 stars but the labor cost at $185 was a tad steep for just about an hour of work in total but hey, at least it's fixed. Thanks guys! read more

Hired DBAR and they were unable to figure out what was wrong with my appliance so they charged me around $150 to fix something that was not broken and said "no warranty." When the problem returned a short time later and I asked for follow up service they said they would only respond for a new service fee. I would not use them or recommend them. Now I'm going to have to pay a 2nd company to come fix what DBAR could not. read more

my $3000 refrigerator had stopped cooling so I called out this company to help me check out my refrigerator . The gentleman came over and told me that my compressor wasn't working and that it would be better for me to buy a new refrigerator then to replace the compressor . He did not pull out one tool the entire time to test and see if the compressor was actually bad. I asked how he knew the compressor was bad and he replied to me " because it isn't running ". He told me that it would be better for me to buy a brand new refrigerator then to replace the compressor . He said I could try to put in a new relay but that it was a gamble because the compressor could burn that relay out . He said to replace that relay would cost $360 . So I began looking for a new refrigerator but did not want to let my nice $3000 refrigerator go to waste because of one part . So I looked online and on YouTube and found videos describing how to check if my compressor was actually bad and how to fix my refrigerator . I am not the most savvy repair man but I followed the instructions in the video and tested my compressor with a multi meter which took less than five minutes . My compressor tested good . So I found it ridiculous that I could test my compressor and find out that it was good and yet I pay $70 to a refrigerator repair man who didn't even test my compressor and told me it was bad . I ended up fixing my refrigerator for $120 . I called the company asking if I could get my $70 back because he didn't help me. The company ended up having the technician call me. The technician just argued with me telling me that the part that I replaced which was the inverter was called a relay . I just spent 20 minutes online reading articles checking whether or not the part that I ordered that fixed my refrigerator was called a relay and couldn't find anything that said it was called a relay . It is called an inverter or a controller . So he's wrong on that too! I told him on the phone that I was upset that he didn't pull out one tool or didn't test my compressor to make sure that it was actually bad . I told him that I was upset that he made it seem like doing anything for my refrigerator was a gamble and that the best thing to do was to pay $1000 for a new refrigerator . He ended up pretty much hanging up on me , which was really rude. I advise for anybody who has a broken refrigerator to take the time to look up the issues about their specific model online and see if you can fix them by yourself. I put in about 4 hours total of research and work and fixed my fridge by myself and I'm not the most mechanically inclined person. Try to make it your last resort to call out an appliance repair company let alone this company to fix your problem . I work for an HOA and deal with contractors all the time . 90% of the contractors I deal with are awesome and knowledgeable and easy to work with. This company and technician we're terrible in my book . I give them two stars because he taught me a couple things and showed up on time but other than that the manager didn't call me back after I spoke with the technician so it pretty much seems like they are just leaving me in the dust and telling me to piss off . I have never reviewed a company before online but I decided to leave this review so that somebody can learn from my experience so that I can help them . read more

We called Denver's "Best - ha" Appliance Repair and told them we needed to have the igniter replaced in our GE oven. A tech came out the next day and confirmed that the ignitor needed to be replaced but he didn't have the parts to fix it. That sucked since we thought that was the point in him coming out. So basically he just came out and told us something we told them the day before. Not only could he not fix it, he broke the door of our oven and left it off when he left. He said he was going to put it back on, but when he left we saw it still sitting on the kitchen floor. In addition they quoted $200 for the part (which online starts as low at $25-60) and 120 for labor. We told him it was way more than anywhere we had seen online - since we already knew the problem when we called. I called the office to tell them our oven door was left broken and asked why their part costs were so high. The lady told me they "had to make money on something" (admitting that they hike up their costs on parts) I told her that they should be making money on labor - which also seemed really high. She told me I had 2 choices (1.) They wouldn't charge me for the service charge to come out - but the door THEY BROKE would also not be fixed or (2.) They will come and fix the door and oven and not charge for the service charge. Both seemed like a pretty terrible deal. I either have to have a broken door and oven or we way overpay for the parts. She offered a 3rd "deal" to have someone fix the door (that they broke) for a charge of $60!!! I wish I was making this up. Since we felt they were incredibly unethical we decided to cut our losses with them and hire someone else to fix what THEY broke and fix the oven ignition. The repair tech was super nice - even though he left our oven doorless. However, the dispatch woman was incredibly rude and didn't handle my frustration well at all; at one point I asked "ma'am please stop yelling at me." The call ended with me telling her I would be writing about my experience and reporting her to the BBB and she said "good we will be sure to respond!" ***By the way this is not a BBB accredited business and they have a C+ rating. You can tell a lot about a company in how they deal with frustrated customers. In reading other people's bad experiences and seeing how they were treated I can see this company is a total scam. We were hesitant to call them based on bad reviews - the only reason we did was because they were open on Sunday. Totally not worth it. read more

My freeze went out the other day and the LCD display showed an error code. I Googled the problem and was familiar with the price of replacement parts. I decided to call Denver's Best for convenience and thought they might prevent the parts from prematurely failing again. When the tech showed up for the service call ($50 charge) he didn't do anything other than look up the error code which I already gave them over the phone. The tech did look around but didn't take any of the panels out to see the guts. He quoted me around $270 for a special order part (ie not in stock) which I was able to find locally same day for $80. I then used YouTube and was able to find instructions to replace the motor fan. Which only took about 20 minutes. Denver's Best wanted to charge me another 200 for labor. When I called to express my dissatisfaction and price gouging all they said was that includes a 5 year warranty. I wanted my $50 service fee back but that never happened. Paying $50 to be price gouged leaves a bad feeling in your mouth. read more

Tony came out to fix an issue with my refrigerator. Initially the repair worked but 2 months later, it is broken again. We called Tony directly but he is not answering his phone. So I called the main line and a girl named Lisa knew Tony, said he does not work there any longer and this repair problem is not her issue. After going around and around and asking for the owner she hung up on me. Run far away from this place. TERRIBLE experience! They have a HUGE price markup on parts and abnormally high labor rates according to post service research and the Major Appliance Service National Price Guide. The repairman they sent was non-english speaking and couldn't communicate what needed fixed or why - Just that "I fix, with warranty". He recommended replacement of brand new copper line when all that was needed was a fitting. They will fix your appliance, but will also exploit every opportunity to gouge you in the process. Not having a dishwasher is not the worst of things, but it's definitely inconvenient. When ours stopped working properly our landlord sent Denver's Best to fix it. The woman who called to confirm our appointment was very nice and the gentleman that came to fix it showed up on time. It was nice to not to have to wait around all day. It didn't take long to get the dishwasher up and running and it has been working great since. I don't have a lot of appliance repair experiences but we had a very positive experience with this company. read more

I explained the problem and they told me they would be out with in 2 hours. Then in 2 1/2 hours with no show, I called them back to be told their technician thinks I have electrical problems and should call an electrician. I confirmed with the electrician it wasn't electrical but a broken oven. I requested they still come out with no return call or technician showing up. (UPDATE: after looking over the reviews again, the ones that I thought were obviously fake from people who live in other states and appeared to write reviews for a fee are gone.) We had Denver's Best Appliance Repair take a look at our refrigerator. The "technician" couldn't speak english well but quickly came to the conclusion that we needed to replace a bunch of parts for a total of $950. He did almost no troubleshooting just said his experience told him what was wrong. We initially said to go ahead but after thinking about it and realizing that all the expensive parts wouldn't fail at the same time we called to get more information. They couldn't tell us anything. When the technician came and I asked the same thing of him he flew into a rage and cancelled the appointment. We called another company and they determined the fridge just needed cleaning. I own a rental property in Denver and when my tenants called last Sunday, I contacted Denver's Best Appliance Repair as I have been very happy with them previously to set up the same day appointment. They were quick to schedule a time that worked for my tenants. The repairman came within an hour after my initial call. He called me after accessing the issue and told me that the condenser was out. Because of the age of the fridge, he suggested that it would be best to replace it instead of trying to fix it and I appreciated the honesty. "Best" is stretching it a bit. I'll give them one star because my washing machine now works, which is what I meeded. The repairman was rude. When I wrote to complain I was told it would be passed along to the manager but they usually received good reviews about this man. Plus excuses for the labor cost. Also rude. The repairman told me if I wanted him to come back to fix it another time I would be charged the service fee, $55 twice. Funny, in their initial email I was told the fee was waived if they performed the service. So if I pay you the service fee the first time, which I was willing to do, why would be charged again when the work was performed? The repairman could not tell me if the work would take one hour or five hours. After further questioning, he said maybe one hour. It took fifteen minutes. $168 for labor plus the part, which I also suspect was overpriced. I wasn't even going to write this review until I received the rude reply to my initial complaint. Awful!- repaired a part in my dryer, which broke 6 months later. I called to get them to come out and repair under their "labor warranty" and they would not return my phone calls. After finally getting ahold of someone, they would not honor the labor code since it was 2 days expired - due to them not responding to me the first time. Our oven was doing strange things, making strange sounds, and generally not working. We unplugged it and the stovetop. A call to Denver's Best and a technician was there that Saturday to take a look. He determined the oven was needing major repair, and gave me an honest quote. Then, he was able to disconnect the oven separately so we could at least use the stove while we determined our course of action. This time, we decided to go with a new unit, but I can guarantee that next time something breaks (And god knows it will), Denver's Best will be my first call. read more

I don't know who the technician was that was in my house because he never introduced himself and he didn't write his name anywhere on the ridiculously overpriced invoice. But he did show up on time, took a two second look at my refrigerator and told me that my evaporator fan was shot and needed to be replaced. He went out to his truck and spent 5x longer out there looking something up than he did looking at my unit. When he came back, he proceeded to write a quote for over $400!! And tried to press for me to authorize the work - which wouldn't even be able to be done for another few days. Thankfully I declined and got a second opinion because not only was the part insanely marked up but he was completely wrong in his diagnosis. My evaporator fan was completely fine and now my fridge is running for half the cost! To top it all off, I'm out $70 just for the pleasure of having my time wasted while these people tried to con me. I get the distinct feeling that this is just what they do - write up overpriced invoices knowing most people will never authorize it, collect their $70 and move onto the next house to do the same thing without having to get a single tool out. Super fast and helpful service. Called in and they were able to squeeze us in for the next day to come check out our broken oven. The repairman was reliable and kept us in the loop on when he would arrive so we could be there to meet him. When he got there he diagnosed the problem quickly and was honest about what repair work was needed. He was also upfront about if it made sense to proceed with the repair. In this case we did not repair the oven but will definitely call them again if another appliance quits on us! read more

Got a call around 10 minutes before they closed and asked me if the tech had called. I said no and that I was going to call my trusted appliance repair service. TERRIBLE service! Useless. And potentially dangerous. I had an issue with my dryer where I smelled gas after doing several loads. I explained the situation to the woman on the phone, namely that I smelled gas after using the dryer, and she said the technician would attempt to figure out the problem. The next day, the guy showed up, did nothing, told me that they didn't have any parts for my dryer and left. He didn't even pretend to look at the dryer. Here's the dangerous part. I shut off the gas line to the dryer yesterday and I didn't smell any gas today. When I called the company to figure out why the guy did nothing, they told me that the technician's notes indicated that he smelled gas in my basement and he didn't even tell me! read more

Took the day off work as they scheduled a repair between 10am and 3pm - 3:20 I called to see where the technician was and was told they would have him call to tell me his arrival time. No call was ever received. At 5:45pm I called again inquiring as to why the technician was a no show/no call - the receptionist stated she would relay my concern to the appropriate person who called at 6pm to inform me I must have called the wrong service as they did not have me on their schedule. Absolutely Incredible!! Business must be really good for them as they certainly did not appreciate my business request. What a clown show. Very expensive and terrible service. They charged $345.00 to replace a very simple plastic part (yes , we had a hard time finding it, but once they said they found it I started looking online). Would not leave the house until they had the order and if they had to come back it was another $145.00 service charge. Three different appointments, they did not show up for any of them. When I called the office to find out what had happened I had to email them a copy of the cashed check I wrote them three weeks earlier in order to confirm who I was. They FINALLY showed up to repair, the repair lasted three weeks, the appliance is not working anymore (due to the part they were suppose to replace) I am hesitant to call them out to fix it because it was such a clown, ridiculous show in the first place. My freezer stopped cooling completely with the rest of the fridge still working properly. I called out a tech on Sunday for emergency service. I thought this was awesome, they were they only company offering Sunday service. The tech (who was professional and great) came out and said I had a great fridge, and it was totally worth spending $600 to replace the main control board and the fan motor. I was confused as the fan was working fine but said whatever as the tech promised this would solve the issue. A day later, it still was not cooling so I called back. They sent the same tech back and he said everything was working fine and to give it another couple days. So we did, and it still didn't work. I called back and explained the issue to them and they said it was the freon that needed to be replaced, for another $400. I thought this was weird, as I asked the tech first thing when he showed up, if it was the freon. He said no. Why would I spend $600 on the first repair if all it needed was the $400 freon? No way in hell would I do both for a solid grand when I could go buy a new fridge for that price. In addition, the female receptionist on the phone was completely rude and unprofessional. I found my part that I needed from the company's parts direct website myself for 156, when they finally got back to me, the part cost more than $300 and wanted me to pay for labor...again. This review is for Colorado Appliance Repair Services who was sent to my home after scheduling thru Denver's Best Appliance Repair. The technician's name was Alex. This was the WORST experience I have ever had with a contractor in my home! I called to schedule an appointment for a dryer repair and was given a 3 hour window. NO SHOW! Called the disspatch office and they did apologize and rescheduled for the next day with another 3 hour time frame and extended a $20 discount for the inconvenience. This was the only pleasant part of this encounter. The technician showed up and quickly looked at my dryer and announced it need a "Restore Kit". I tried to ask several questions about why several new parts were required than just the one that was the problem and was given a big run-around kind of answer, including a very condescending attitude. Sine the new kit was around $100, I authorized the repair. The technician asked to use my vacuum and I set it up for him while he went to his truck to get supplies. He said he would use it to clean out the dryer while he had it apart. I did look behind the dryer at that time and noted there was a lot of lint around the vent. The tech proceeded to do the repair by pulling the dryer forward from where it connects to the vent and I checked on him a couple of times as the repair seemed to be rather loud...a lot of banging on the panels...I was worried he was doing damage. Upon completion, the tech called me to show me is was all working and I looked behind the dryer to see that it was reconnected and clean, but saw nothing but all the lint that was there when he started the job. I said, "I thought you told me you were going to vacuum the lint" and he said, 'I AM NOT GOING TO CLEAN YOUR FLOORS" I was very surprised by his rude and condescending response and assured im that I was not asking him to clean my floors, but rather was asking why he had not cleaned the lint as he had stated he would. He said he didn't have time and had other jobs to do. So, I asked then if he would help me just pull the dryer forward again so I could to the vacuuming and he refused to do that as well! I was pretty upset by that time and just wanted him out of my house. He handed me the bill and OMG...the labor portion was $188! plus $100 parts for about 30 minutes of work. I did call the office as soon as he left to report this rude behavior and to ask if it would have been reasonable for him to have vacuumed behind the appliance and/or to help me move it, to which the dispatcher replied that it did sound reasonable. She promised to have the Owner call to followup. Well, guess what? NO RESPONSE and it's been 2 weeks. Since the "repair" my dryer now runs more loudly than before and I beieve it is not connected to the outside vent as before because my laundry room gets very hot when the dryer is running. Sorry for the long review, but BEWARE what you may be getting when you give this company a call. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I called to set up an appointment because my refrigerator stopped working, and they said they would call me right back to schedule a time. No one called for several hours, and so I called back again to check. They said they didn't know what happened and they would put in another ticket, still no one called me for over 24 hours. When I finally spoke with a guy, he told me that he could come out to check, but that he probably wouldn't be able to figure out what is wrong with it. He acted like I was an idiot because I hadn't taken it apart and cleaned the coils thoroughly. Magically, it started working again that day. Three weeks later it stopped working again, and I took the back panel off to clean the coils. This did not do anything, and it was still broke. I called this company again to set up an appointment more then 24 hours ago, and still am being ignored. Needless to say, I will NEVER contact this company again. read more

I had an issue where my refrigerator was making the most awful, loud noise for at least 8 hours. Denver's "Best" scheduled a repair person to come at which point the noise had become intermittent. By the time the repair person arrived the noise had stopped. I understood the plight, paid the required $55 fee, said thank you for coming. No less than 5 minutes after his departure, the noise started again. I called the repair man and he refused to come back to my condo. He said I need to pay another $55 fee and reschedule....that is....the noise must be on while they are there otherwise they will leave. I took off a day from work for this and have to say I am extremely disappointed. I rather live with this incessant racket than go through this company again. read more

Although there were only 2 reviews for this service they were both excellent and the repair man could come out the same day so I went for it. I really wish I hadn't... Pros: - The woman on the phone was very nice - The repair man showed up an hour early (unheard of!). Cons: - They charged me $135 for a part ('Drain Switch'). I watched the entire repair, which took under 5 minutes and hopped on the computer to see exactly how much this Drain Switch runs the average bear. The $135 part can be purchased on Sears or Amazon.com for $28. THEY CHARGED $135 FOR A $28 PART?????? Yep. - They charged $149 for labor. Less than 5 minutes of labor costs $149????? That's more than $1000/hour. I am in the wrong business. - I called the company to explain the misunderstanding we must have had with the $135 charge for a $28 part and the $149 for under 5 minutes in labor. I was even willing to pay 3x the amount of the part to protect THEIR profit, but $135??? And I respect the repair person's expertise, but $149 for 5 minutes? This must be a simple mistake and not a moral mistake, right? No mistake the nice woman said. It's a business. They did offer me $15 off my total bill. The story ends with me taking the $15, licking my wounds, cursing my immediate need for washer repair and the ultimate decision to accept their service. At the end of the day and at these prices I should have bought a new washing machine instead. Be warned. read more
