Came to my house and looked at my washer and oven. Did nothing. Charged me $75. Useless.

This guy had a couple of good reviews and returned my call, so I decided to work with him. Basically, I don't know what I am doing with an appliance, so he had to tell me twice where to find the serial # for the part to be ordered (the dishwasher's shelf is coming apart). After a couple of calls back and forth, I got the numbers he needed and he said he was going to get the part and call me to come out and fix the dishwasher. This was not urgent, we can run the dishwasher the way it is but it does need repair. I never heard from Deo, and called a month later. He never called back. Now it's been two months past my last call, and I will update if he returns this last try. If not, this review stands. Gee, if a job is too small, or the drive too far, let a customer know. He never bothered to call me back after 3 calls to him. No thanks, not recommended. read more

Nice guy but ... he came to fix our dishwasher and said it was done. The next day it was leaking so we called him back. He came again and said it was fixed. The next day it was leaking even worse. We called him back but he was done. He wouldn't return our calls. We had paid over $200.00 to Deo and ultimately we had to buy a new dishwasher. He was friendly and professional as were we. never once did we say we were unhappy. We were consistently friendly but just wanted our dishwasher repaired. If he had just returned our messages and said he was unwilling to continue with this project, I would have given him 3 stars but still told the story. Not returning calls is not good business. People swear by Deo, I would like to swear at Deo. read more

VERY quick to diagnose the problem with our gas dryer. Turned out to be a very simple fix, involving replacing a part that he had with him. Within literally a few minutes, we had our dryer working again, and at a price that was absolutely reasonable. My only reason for knocking off one star is that we tried for literally a week to get ahold of him, and every time we called, his answering machine was so full that it wouldn't allow us to even leave a message. My tenant notified me the stove was not working on a Tuesday afternoon, I called Deo's and he told me he could make it there the next day in the afternoon. He called me the next day to tell me he had an earlier appointment cancel and could make mine earlier! He got there fixed it and everything was back working in less than 24 hours!! Definitely would not recommend! 1. He repaired my refrigerator, dryer and washing machine and the first time I used the washer afterward I had a water leak. I tried calling him right away and left him a message. He did not call me back for 2 days. Of course I called someone else in the meantime - who can wait 2 days on a water leak. 2. When I questioned the 2 statements I paid him for he admitted that he had overcharged me (the 2nd statement duplicated the charges from the first one) and said he was sending me a refund. That was almost a month ago and of course he deposited both of my checks. I have tried leaving him messages but his voice mail is usually full. When I am able to leave a message he does not respond or return my calls. I haven't heard a word from him since the day (almost a month ago) that he said he was sending me a refund. UPDATE: Just discovered this about the license number Deo Frutuoso has printed on his invoices/statements for Deo's Appliance Service. The license which was issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Electronic and Appliance Repair was cancelled 12 years ago in 2004. read more

I have used Deo's service on numerous occasions. He is prompt, professional and reasonable. He's always been on time. Today he repaired my oven in less than an hour and had the right part in his truck. I highly recommend him. read more

I work for a company that owns rental properties it is my job to call repairmen when something needs to be fixed or broken down at the rental houses. I had a tenant call to tell me the dryer is not working at her house. I called Deo's appliance. The first time I called to get a price he told me " I live right down the street I can come anytime". So after I got all of my prices from different appliance repair companies I called Deo's appliance back and set up a time for him to come look at the dryer. He showed up like he said he would. He looked at the dryer and told me he needed to order a bearing kit and that he would be back the following week once the kit came in the mail. A week went by and I did not hear from Deo's appliance. So I called and called and called, his voice mail was full and to this day he never called me back. I do not recommend Deo's appliance repair! read more

My family has been using Deo's for more than 20 years. Honest, reliable, knowledgable. Wouldn't think of using anyone else.

I've used Deo 3 times over the past 10 years. he has saved me from buying new appliances.. his prices haven't really gone up, but ive noticed part prices have. He has repaired our washer when the motor died, the dryer when the heat died, and the garbage disposal when it wouldn't dispose anymore... in that case there was a reset button he showed us, and cut the charge. We have used Deo several times at work and at home and he always does a great job. People have said, on yelp and to me directly, that he can be hard to get a hold of but I've never had that issue. He just replaced my Kitchen Faucet and Garbage Disposal for half the price of Tino's and we couldn't be happier. read more

Deo is the best! He is honest and knows his stuff. Once when Deo was unavailable I had to call another service repair who spent hours trying to fix my stove and it took two service calls and it was still not fixed. When Deo returned I called him and he fixed it lickity split. I wouldn't use anyone else. read more

Deo does quality work. He has a strong work ethic and does what needs to be done, even when that takes extra effort. He's been servicing and installing appliances for over a third of a century! So he's probably encountered whatever problem you have. The only thing that holds me back from giving five stars is that it is sometimes hard to get in contact with him. Wow! My tenant's fridge broke and I called at least 5 companies in Santa Cruz county and no one returned my call. Broken fridges are emergencies with the potential for losing a lot of money in food. Deo returned my call immediately and was on the job the same day. A part needed to be ordered from the factory. He was able to do an immediate temporary fix to get the temperature right until the part came in the next week. He would not accept payment until the job was complete when the part came. How rare is that!? The part arrived and he installed it and the fridge works fine. He was always professional and pleasant. read more

Deo came well-recommended to us so we had him out to our house to check out our dodgy dishwasher. He not only checked out the dishwasher for a very reasonable price but also fixed our stove for free. He could have charged us a ton to fix our dishwasher but instead gave us the details on why it would be cheaper to replace it rather than have us spend a ton of money on him repairing it. He strikes me as honest and was very competent, courteous, and professional when we had him to our house. 5 stars for sure. read more
