I had dinner here when there was no crowd and the service was garbage. The busser was busy texting and not clearing tables and we only saw him for a couple minutes. The waitresses hung out with their friends and cold food was brought out. The food made us ill for two days. I tried a second time for the laker game..... I arrived half an hour before the game and for an hour and a half I heard "we will take care of you babe," "don't worry I'll take care of you." I was never seated, I was sent away after an hour and a half by security because there were no tables. I watched the whole situation.. no social distancing, no cleaning tables.. the people that did get seats weren't seated before the game started. Jefferey took care of us and he was awesome, but honestly all of the staff was really cool and always made sure we were taken care of. I've been here a few times and I really love the drinks the food isn't bad. Great happy hour prices specially if you a local employee and feel like having some drinks w friends after a hard shift. We already have to pay for parking so I'll take any happy hour I can get. The bartender are usually working alone which is crazy but I guess due to business belong slow now a days they don't want to schedule two people or no one wants to work. Who knows How ever I went yesterday evening w some friends and the young kid w glasses he was ok. Not nearly as good of a bartender and the girl and young short mexcian guy. Definitely needs some help in the personal hygiene area. He was cleaning the Booths using some spray chemical and would make the drinks w out even washing his hands I was iffy about it but didn't wanna be over dramatic so still ordered a couple drinks. He was NOT PRESENTABLE and had very bad breath. I'm very surprised someone like that would be working there. I stoped ordering drinks once I saw he came out of restroom so quick. I doubt he even washed his hands. And today I ended up w strep throat I wonder if it's the poor hygiene of the youngster. His mom needs to make sure he's washing his hands and coming in presentable ! If you're a 49ers fan this is the place to be! As a member of the 49ers Los Angeles Club I highly recommend this place. Amazing place and the vibe is awesome. As for the bar overall, I've come here even when there isn't a game and the place is a great to have a drink and listen to music. Sadly Der Wolf is no longer the German pub I remember. Sat down ordered a pretzel and it was served with valveeta cheese not the ground mustard and beer cheese they used to have. Only one German beer on tap. The ascetic has also completely changed, it's no longer rustic with old world charm, instead it has disco balls and piñatas. Truly sad. read more

This place was recommended by a friend. They took over a plaza area for their out door seating, which was very spacious. Also a DJ playing some old school R&B/ Hip hop when I was there. The pretzel plate was yummy, I don't think I had a pretzel that soft and fluffy in along time. I do wish the cheese was hotter when served. Order two cocktail drinks and they were strong. Didn't get to order more due to our waitress never coming back after the food and drinks were given. Only 4 stars due to customer service. We sat in the corner by the restrooms, their is about 5 tables. Everything was good when we got there but after receiving our food, no one ever came back to check in. We could see the other tables looking around for the waitress to come back. Not sure if they were understaff that night but definitely was enjoying the vibe till this happened. First time here on a Wednesday night yesterday. There was a "friend of the owners" who was overly drunk, groped several women at the bar (including staff), and just made the entire vibe uncomfortable. The dude was treating this place like his own personal prowling grounds, and no one could tell him to stop because he seemed connected to the establishment. It feels like he's just tolerated by the staff/some patrons because he's friends with the owners, so I'm putting that uncomfortable experience on the establishment for not making it easy to deal with someone like that. Definitely will not be coming back nor recommending this place to friends, as I can't be sure that anything would be done about this dude harassing my friends the same way. Every time I come here the atmosphere feels different. Sunday afternoons it's 49ers central. Monday nights it's some 30 year old dad named George making really good old fashions. Friday nights it feels like a strip clubs night off. One time I came and it was someone's birthday party?!?! You just don't know what your gonna get. Probably my favorite neighborhood bar because they are always trying to do stuff. Drinks are good and their whiskey selection is better than you would think. This is a chill place to hang if the nightly activity suits you. This place was a heaven to come to during Covid, where they had an awesome outdoor space. Nice atmosphere here. Street parking is (as in all of Pasadena) difficult. Park in the structure. So the staff is nice, and the food and drinks are good. There is a sister bar downstairs (the Rathskeller) which is pretty cool. The only thing I would warn against is that, at least on weekdays, they close the grill pretty early. Also, if you are looking at the beer menu in photos on Yelp, they may not be being served anymore. We were looking forward to some of the beers listed in reviews and when we got there, they were not on the menu at-all. The inside is exactly what you would find at a bigger pub, on one side there are long tables that seat 8-12 people on the other side more modern cushioned high top tables. Kitchen is open until 8:30-9 (I can't remember) so get there earlier if you want to eat. The happy hour has $5 drinks and some $5 food options if you are looking for a quick bite. Wednesday around 10pm. it wasn't packed but there were good amount of people. there was also an open karaoke. had a blast there. ordered a total about 6 glasses of beers, i had 4 my friend had 2. the Vanilla Ale was pretty good.
