Absolutely loved Home Slice! Being able to buy by the slice is ideal, and both the eggplant and pepperoni slices were top-notch. Fast, fantastic service even with a packed house and a lively crowd. highly recommend!

We originally stopped by Home Slice hoping for a quick bite, but the main location had about a 20-minute wait and felt more sit-down than we wanted. So we popped next door to More Home Slice and that ended up being the best call. The wait was short, the staff was friendly, and it was exactly the low-key vibe we were looking for. Street parking only and outdoor seating. We grabbed a pepperoni slice and wow! Easily one of the best New York style pizzas I've had. Thin, crunchy, and sturdy enough to hold its shape. Perfect spot when you want something quick and really good!

Decent spot for a quick slice refuel when your initial lunch plans for walking up and down Congress St. fall through. Service was fast and friendly and the pepperoni NY style slice was about as good as any other I've had. We found a spot inside at one of the counters by the window because it was chilly but there was lots of spots on the patio and they even had some heaters on for the waiting area which was nice when we were getting ready to leave and waiting for my brother to use the bathroom.

Pizza and vibes were good. I'm particular about my pizza crust and it was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. Just how I like it. We also got the Italian sub and some salads. The food didn't take very long to be ready. The sub was HUGE. Half a sub is more than enough for one person. The salad had fresh ingredients and the dressing was homemade. I wish the garlic knots had more of a garlic butter on the outside. They were a bit dry for me but my mom loved them. There was lots of outdoor seating. Not as much indoor seating but we were able to find a spot.

Slices and whole pizzas sold beer and wine sold. Outdoor seating dining room has a larger menu. Can't be super busy during the weekend.

I stopped by here with a fellow Yelper before the event at Zach Theater. We got lucky as the store only had a couple of customers in line, and we were able to order & be served within 10-15 mins. They are good at their jobs & were able to manage eat-in, to-go, and Doordash orders fairly quickly. They all took turns bringing orders out, as well. They have limited but ample seating inside and a couple of patio style tables with umbrellas outside (photo below). Their slices are huge, so one is definitely enough unless you came with a very empty stomach. I got the margherita this time but also considered the non-vegan spinach white pie - will have to be another day. This pizza is better than chains, but I've also had better gourmet styles. It does feel good that the famed local bastion of pizza isn't bad, though!

I was craving a crispy cheesy slice and stopped in here on Saturday night. The pizza was lukewarm and I requested it be heated a little more. They couldn't reheat the same slice but generously offered to heat another slice. It was still lukewarm, no cheese pull, not satisfying at all. The crust was tasty but it was such a waste and tasted like nothing.

Audacious service fee Homie! I actually love Home Slice I've lived 2 blocks away from them for a decade now and have spent thousands of dollars there over the years. But I have to put them on blast! Because now they've decided to slip a new 'restaurant service charge' on top of the bill! Not added gratuity, a "service charge, the restaurant keeps!" MAN F' THAT HOMIE! I'm SO DAMN TIRED OF GREEDY PIGS. It's $30+ for a large freaking pizza already. Man I'm gonna regretfully have to stop giving Home Slice my money out of principle now. HOW ABOUT YOU "COVER YOUR COSTS"! Why I'm I subsidizing your shit!? F' your added fees ! "The restaurant keeps 100%" man that's ballsy phrasing too!

One slice, so yummy with cheese topping powder on the picnic tables. They bring hour pizza out to you and so nice! Ambiance is relaxed and family friendly, it's off the road so it's casual dining

I think i like the Central Austin location better, but I have to say Home Slice is always really solid pizza - nice and crispy..I think the plain or pepperoni better than the other stuff. I think it's expensive for what it is, but that's the Austin premium pizza price for ya! I will keep going to Home Slice though because it def. hits the spot when you're in the mood for NY or NJ style pizza. Just know it's not quite going to be the same...which is fine..because we are in the Lone Star State!

Solid slice and quick bite when you're hungry walking. The smells hit and it's over. $4.25 for a cheese slice so we took 4 to tide us over. The whole fam agreed it was an A.

Where's the sauce!? This is from today (05.08.2025). Sicilian pepperoni. Hardly any sauce. Do you have new people making your pizza? I'm a long-time customer (over 15 years) and this is the driest Sicilian pepperoni slice I've ever had.

    Italian Assorted Sub
    Michelle D.

Ok... man how have I never reviewed this place? Oh, Home Slice.... we have known each other maybe more than a decade? You've known me since before I had kids walking Congress and now to almost every weekend seeing both my kids as they grow up. You took my family of 20 in the day after my wedding when we were hungry. You've hosted many of my kiddos birthday parties at your place and always show up for birthday parties at the park. We know we can always just stop by when we're in the hood and my children have come to know you as someone we can always count on. But for real though, the star of this review is their Italian sub. I can't believe I never knew about this until a few months ago. The bread is a perfect shell crunch housing all the goodness inside. It doesn't overpower the sandwich at all and allows all the other ingredients inside to express themselves. The super finely shredded lettuce is genius making for easy tear off bites. For those of you who don't think you even like Italian subs, I was one of you. You're welcome.

The person greeting us, even shared some insights for some upcoming shows. They'd be having that seem great to attend. It's fun to have that sense of community being welcomed into the restaurant as soon as you get there! We split up, and I went to grab seats while the other member of my party stood in line. Seating wasn't difficult, and it was well ventilated, which was highly favorable and much appreciated in the heat with missing fans, running constantly, cute ambience, lighting with the small bulb lights, and even bug spray available they make sure that this dining experience was covered on all bases so that you would have a great one. The menus are easily accessible, with multiple copies, being passed down the line, and sitting in the stand as soon as you walk up. However, after hearing about the restaurant online, and taking some time to read the menu prior to arrival, I knew what was on my mind - carbonara. From arrival to ordering with maybe about a 30 to 40 minute wait however, it was worthwhile. The dishes are made to order, with fresh pasta being used, making it even better. We opted for two half orders to share, and that was definitely enough food because we ended up even taking leftovers. We also got an order of the garlic bread with tons of roasted garlic, parmesan, and green onions. While the carbonara was flavorful and what my mind was initially set on, the other pasta actually ended up stealing the show and was what we finished immediately the Leopold had a pesto base and a nice hint of spice even without the peppers (which were taken off in our order). Overall, the most difficult part of this meal was parking, and the fight was completely forgotten after my first taste. They have a small lot, however, if you circled the nearby neighborhood a couple times you're sure to find a place to put your car.

Came with two large bone marrow and a delicious but very heavy mushroom risotto. I'm used to mushroom risotto in a white creamy base but this one was red, buttery, and cheesy. It was incredible but I wouldn't recommend it if you're on a date or watching what you eat. I was very bloated and felt heavy afterwards so save it for your cheat meal days. The octopus was a bit overcooked. 10 Oz Beef Filet With Fresh Blue Crab Fonduta ($72): My husband and friend both loved the blue crab fonduta which had a strong blue crab flavor. The beef filet was nicely cooked but lacked flavor and the slice was cut a bit too thick for my taste. I'm assuming they keep it on the blander side so it doesn't compete with the fonduta but I would have liked a little more salt.
