I ordered a roof rack kit from desertrat.com due there their positive online reviews. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the kit which involved some defective parts. My issue with this company is the lack of urgency regarding the issue. I reached out to Desert Rat to get the issue resolved and was told to contact the manufacturer. Very very dissatisfied with this Desert Rat located on 19th Ave and Peoria. My husband and I went last week and were quoted for a lift kit and step bars for our truck. The elder gentleman there gave us quote and supposedly ordered our steps for truck. The appointment for our lift kit was supposed to be on July 1st and our steps were supposed to arrive this past Monday. Before we left I told the gentleman if I needed to pay for the steps since we were going to install them our selves, but he said "no need for that I can tell you guys really want them" and so we left. My husband has now stopped by twice and has been told they don't have the order, so I figured I'd call to see if they even made our appointment for July 1st, and sure enough the appointment was not even made. He began to tell me that the steps would now be there on Friday and never an explanation as to why they were not ordered. When talking to the elder gentleman he said he didn't understand why he could find my appointment and said he would squeeze us in for July 1st as if it were an inconvenience to do when he should of had already had it scheduled in his system. And when questioned about our truck steps he said he couldn't figure out why our order was not in the system. Long story short I expressed to him that it seems that Desert Rat does not want our business and will go elsewhere to get our truck taken care of. Sad to say but it almost seemed like my husband and I were profiled as if we didn't have the money to pay for what we ordered. read more

Stop !!! Don't shop here you will have better Service at Walmart from someone working in the fish department then this place!!! The first location that I call the gentleman was very nice on the phone and stated to me go see this individual at this location they will be able to help you no problem I wish I could if I if I had faster Internet He specifically told me to go ask for one person and the guy was nice and knew what was going on and would be happy to help me when I asked to speak to this individual when I showed up at this location the other guy working behind the counter said now he's busy yet the other guy was in the back talking to somebody and laughing and he proceeded to attempt to help me what a mistake!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE Customer service is definitely not something that they care about absolutely horrible attitude . I came in to have help with a product that they sell !! I was told by the company that they are a retailer for that they could help me . The man behind the counter kept repeating to me the whole entire time you should of bought it here and I would've had this done for you right away !! the man preceded to tell me that I must have a product that was sitting on a shelf somewhere I then I corrected him and explained to him that the company said that all of them need to be updated and it was a brand-new product that they sell and because you sell the product you should be willing to update it he continue to help me griping and complaining and taking phone calls then deciding after he had already worked on it for almost 15 minutes as I am sitting there and waiting the whole tIme I can't help you anymore I don't know what to tell you . So you mean to tell me that I'm at your store for an hour as you're telling me you're going to help me work on this and fix this and then decide that you don't want to absolutely ridiculous. And u only attempted to for a total of 15 minutes BUT The truth is he didn't want TOO in the first place. And made A mockery of me as someone standing there the whole time. As I'm waiting for him as he's telling me he's trying to help me he's talking to another employee on the phone telling them how he's going to try to save a deal and give somebody a cheaper price on something so he can get them in there and then upsell them after they're in there !!!!! I am absolutely blown away that a company would actually try to do that and rip somebody off. There a lot better places that are local. Don't ever bring your vehicle here to have work done!! They are so incompetent and should be embarrassed to call themselves an off road center. First of all, my problem started with them 7 years ago when I had them install a lift kit with shocks on my Jeep. Immediately I realized something was wrong. My husband got under the Jeep to see what was wrong and to his amazement those idiots installed the lift kit UPSIDE DOWN!! It was obvious due to the fact a sticker read 'this side up' was facing down!! When we told them this they gave us some BS story and pointed the blame elsewhere. They did fix it and gave us a gift card. Needless to say we have never returned and now do any new installs ourself. Fast forward 7 years... We have done many upgrades to my jeep and it's never ran as well as we liked. We decided to replace the shocks that Desert Rat installed. We had to laugh at what we saw. One of the four shocks was not the same, it was 4 inches longer!! That would explain the crappy driving we've been having. It was then I decided I had to say something. Okay so I read the reviews and then talked to my friends that have been going there for years. Decided that I was going to make a Big Boy decision on my own. I'll start off with this,these guys are busy, really busy both 19th Ave and Bell rd were hopping when I stopped in ( Good sign ) parking lot full . The phones were ringing off the hooks. I walked around checking out the show which is way cleaner than that flying high shop in the hood. Was ask by 2 salesman if I needed any help during their phone calls. What had me thinking this place could handle my truck was seeing a local dealership picking up a truck they just lifted (2015 Silverado) It was decked out to the max. A local race shop (Baja guys I think )were getting a chase truck outfitted with airbags. Shawn took some time with me and really explain my options on leveling kits and lift kits (2014 chevy 4wd) an hour later I was setting up an appointment . Got my baby back yesterday wheels, tires and lift kit. Drives like a dreams and the sales staff was awesome. Hell anyone can say anything on this blog, my personal experience is to stop by and chat with these guys . I took my Toyota FJ there to have a new rear bumper installed and some other work. Weeks later, I am STILL finding things that were done incorrectly. Missing bolts, shoddy work, and even the bumper was installed incorrectly. I will never go back. (I was afraid to let them correct their mistakes with the fear of new damage being done.) If I could give zero stars I would. I purchased a set of fender flares for a 2019 Ram 1500 in January because Desert Dog advertised they were in stock. Two days later I received an email from their internet sales team, 'backordered, shipping in March'. OK, mistakes happen so I told them to keep the flares on order. But: unknown to me, they had ALREADY CHARGED my credit card. So in mid February, I asked for an update and was told 'they're shipping direct from the manufacturer shortly'. It took me 5 days to even get a tracking number. So the flares arrived at me installer, I took the Ram to him the next day. We opened them up and they were definitely not the ones shown in Desert Rat's nor the manufacturer's websites. The ones advertised had bolts, the ones received didn't. So I took pictures of them along with the photos from their website and sent them to Desert Rat. Crickets. I emailed several times, no response. I called and got an 'I'll check with the manufacturer' response. Two days later after another email and two more calls I got fed up with this bozo and contacted the manufacturer myself. They were great! Told me 'yes, they should have the bolts'. So I went back to Desert Rat and requested a Return Authorization but their returns email was no longer in service. I emailed Customer Service, told them I wanted to return them. That was February 22 and I've still had no response. So not only would I never purchase anything from Desert Rat again, I'm afraid that if I sent them back I would never see that $400 again because they're too incompetent to process a return. To finish the story, after I requested an RA, the manufacturer's customer rep sent me an email that 'I just found out from our senior technical assistant that these fenders flare had a last minute design change. These fenders do not have bolts on them.' So I'm stuck with flares that don't match what they advertised and I can't send them back. I don't know about the Desert part but the Rat part of their name is appropriate. read more

I took my Bronco to these guys for a rack check. They did a thorough job on the inspection and the suggested repairs in writing. I had them do a minor repair to the suspension - and they did it correctly, in a timely manner, and without over-charging me. I have another repair scheduled and I'm hoping the next experience is as good as the other two. read more

Over the last few weeks I have had the opportunity to do business with the Desert Rat location on 19th ave. Shawn, the guy I have been dealing with, was incredibly well versed in the world of off road accessories and equipment. His knowledge and experience were more than helpful. Having been around cars, trucks and bikes my whole life, I figured that I would know more than enough to outfit my 99 Wrangler with ease. Shawn introduced me to the new tech that has evolved since my last foray into the Jeep world. Not only was he helpful with guidance and the selection of my equipment, he was great to deal with and accommodating me the need to come back time and again just to narrow down my choices for purchase. Once my items were picked out Shawn, the techs and the rest of the crew kept me well informed during the installation of all my equipment. This made my wait time during the install more than pleasant. When my Jeep was completed they delivered it to me with all explanations, original parts and paperwork put together neatly and ready to bring home. All in all my buying experience was way above any and all expectations cementing these guys as my go to shop for all things off road. Great Customer Service. Shawn was really knowledgeable and patience (I had a lot of questions).

I went into this off-road shop several months ago, i told the manager behind the counter that i needed to get my 5 inch KC lights on my truck re-grounded. Right off the bat i was treated like a child, i expressed that a have previous knowledge of how to run electrical wires and do work myself but i just didn't have the time because i was a full time student as well as work two jobs. The manager told me that i would have to replace the lights all together, what a joke, when i went back into the store to see the selection of lights he had for sale there were 2 different ones to choose from, both over $500 per 7' inch light, horrible over priced for an incandescent off road light. while taking a look at other products sold at the store after i decided not to waste my money here i noticed that there was a previous customer at the from desk disputing a $630 charge on his account when he purchased a gas can that cost $49. To be honest that was the last straw for me, i didn't want to trust this JOKE of a company with my credit card. Get some people who actually know what they are talking about. read more

If you have any work done on your truck make sure to have it checked over by a PROFESSIONAL. I brought my 2013 f350 for a simple level kit install when i arrived i instantly noticed things that wasn't done correctly like brake lines flipped so when the wheel droops it didnt tear brake lines. i brought it to there attention and they said sorry and willingly fixed the problem. So a few days later i noticed that when i turned the wheel i could hear something loose. So i looked under the truck and noticed my track bar was almost completely loose to where i could turn the nut by hand. Once again i took it back for them to fix there mistakes THEY DID IT . OK so i forgot to mention the truck only had 2500 miles if that at that point so i took a trip to CALI and when i got back i noticed my front tires were wearing terrible and the truck and tires only have 5600 miles total it cost me new tires cause there lack of detail to get SH** RIGHT I recommend just going to professionals if you value your vehicle. Ineptness is the only word that could describe these guys. I went in for a 2 1/2" level kit on a new truck, upsold me to a full 3" for $50 more, returned truck without aligning. Went back to have them do the alignment, they tried to pass off this align again as right, it was not correct, when I called them on it, they said it was as close as they could align it, I told them I'm not going to burn up $1200.00 in tires because they can't align the truck. They wanted to sell me $600.00+ in upper a arms so they could do a proper alignment, I told them to put the 2 1/2" level kit on, they did, this time they broke a 250.00 wheel sensor (to their credit they did cover the cost) but had to come back a forth time for the repair. I asked for the $50.00 cost difference back between the 2 kits, now their story changed, they told me these 2 kits are the same price and the salesman had the gall to tell the manager that I insisted on the 3" kit. Finally, I had asked them to check the alignment before I left, they said they would, and when leaving I asked again if they had, they said it was correct....went to another shop to have the alignment checked and it was way off. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS....UNLESS YOU ENJOY FRUSTRATION read more
