I wanted to get a second opinion regarding the treatment that was recommended to me. I completely respect that dentists have their own professional recommendations, and I understand they may believe certain procedures are necessary. However, I also believe patients have the right to seek a second opinion before making a decision. Since I currently have no pain, discomfort, or concerns, I asked if I could simply receive the basic cleaning that my insurance covers. I was told they would not provide it because of other treatment recommendations. While I respect their policy, it wasn't the outcome I was hoping for. I then requested copies of my dental records so I could consult another dentist. I was told I needed to sign a release form, which was fine. The office sent the form by email, but it ended up in my spam folder, so I didn't see it until Monday morning. Once I found it, I completed the form and went to the office to obtain my records. Throughout the process, I felt like I had to work much harder than necessary just to get information and access my own records. During one phone call, I explained my situation to an employee, and instead of telling me she was transferring me, I was placed on silence. A different person eventually picked up, and I had to explain everything all over again. Overall, I left feeling like communication could have been much better. I respect the clinical judgment of the providers, but I didn't feel the office made it easy for me to ask questions or obtain my records for a second opinion. Based on my personal experience, I would choose another dental office in the future. And on top I asked I'll be there in 20 min to picked my records and I showed up 1 hour later and still made me wait to do what I asked. So unprofessional service.

Not sure how this was determined, because it was a rushed job. Simply looked at a few teeth with a mirror and made the determination. Did not even have the x-rays in the room to go over. Sought a second opinion from another dentist, who determined that #2 tooth was healthy and #30 was not. The irony is that he used the x-rays taken at Gentle Dental. He also used other methods and conversation that a place emphasizing profit over care would not be concerned about. In any case, this place is either selling services not required or incompetent. Either are disqualifiers. If proper care is expected see a true dentist in private practice and not a dental mill.

They did an adequate job on my procedure, but after it was done they told me I owed another $350 because my insurance wouldn't cover the procedure. This was a standard root canal, not emergency surgery, so it seems to me they could have checked with my insurance in advance and told me up front how much I would owe. It seems to me that this is a somewhat deceptive practice on their part, so I warn anyone considering Reno Smiles to read the small print and make sure that you know what kind of costs you will face going in. This period includes Dr. Thomas and recently, the transition to Dr. Vong and Dr. Avendano. Bruna has been my routine hygienist and her technical skills are brilliant, top-notch. In particular, her ability to sonically clean and to measure my receding gums with the absolute minimum of discomfort speaks to her fabulous technique. In a joking fashion, sometimes I think she's just saying the numbers because there is no sensation while probing the gum line. Additionally, I want to mention Amber and Jada who filled-in for Bruna during a recent absence and they too, demonstrated a high level of technical skill and competence. More recently, I needed updates to 6 existing fillings and had been a little reluctant to have this work completed. Dr. Avendano and his assistant Crystal were "beyond my expectations". As a team, they were fast, efficient, and treated me in a manner that ensured I was comfortable before and during the procedure. Most impressive to me was Dr. A's ability to deliver anesthesia by needle with NO sensation of a needle prick. I was aware that he was working in my mouth to prepare for the procedure and then, "poof", the area was numb. No jab, no pin prick, no burning. His technique is incredible and I remained comfortable for the entire procedure. Should you be facing some over-due dental work, or are simply in need of an excellent hygienist, I would confidently recommend the team at Vista Dental.

I am in the IT field and could not help but notice how their data that they're trying to collect from me as excessive and they seem to have lost my data either through negligence or through a hack. I am not sure.. button either case that is a lot of data to lose on a patient. I no longer trust going to this location even though I have been there for many years they seem to have gone through a transition of ownership as well, and that seems to be where everything went south. Their hygienist are fine. It's just the people that run their business in their office.

Unfortunately, our 4:00 PM appointment today was an extremely disappointing experience. When we arrived, we were told we had been removed from the schedule because we didn't confirm the appointment. I explained that I did confirm through the text system, just like we always have. Claudia at the front desk was very kind and explained they've been having issues with the confirmation system and said they could still see my daughter. A couple technicians came out and said they would get her in shortly, but then another technician came out and said my daughter had been removed from the schedule because we didn't confirm. When I explained what the front desk had told us about the system issue, she said it didn't matter because they were no longer taking 4 PM appointments. When I said maybe we should just leave, she said yes, we should. The manager who we have known for a very long time was standing there during this entire interaction and didn't say a word. After nearly 10 years as patients, being told to leave over what appears to be a system error was shocking. There are plenty of dentists in the area who are actually "gentle" and treat families with kindness and respect. We will be taking our family to one of them instead. I hope the office takes a closer look at how situations like this are handled in the future so other long-time patients aren't treated the same way.

The dental equipment seemed brand new and the furniture all seemed new as well. The dentist was professional, on time and the dental hygienists were terrific as well. The recent process of dental work that I have had recently has left me looking for another dental office. During my visit in September 2025, I was informed that my bridge was 'failing' and in addition I had a cavity underneath a crown, and in addition to that, an adjacent tooth had to be removed. To me, as a lay person, this sounded like a tremendous amount of work and cost. I felt the office manager or Cercek should have sat down with me and gone over various options. However, I was only given a referral to an oral surgeon for implants. Implants did not seem to be a good option for me after having an appointment with the referral dentist. Aside from the exorbitant cost, the x-ray showed that I would need a 'sinus uplift'. The oral surgeon did not even bother to discuss the fact that I have periodontal disease and how that can sometimes complicate issues and even having the implants 'fail'! On my own, I researched other options such as a partial denture. I was very disappointed that no information or options were given to me by the office. I, again, had to research on my own what would potentially be my reimbursement from the insurance company because Cercek is out of network. I only had $825 left for 2025. In 2026, the maximum reimbursement would be $1,500. Because I did the research, I decided to split the dental work that needed to be done over December 2025 and January 2026. I made an appointment for December 17, 2025 and another for the partial on January 14, 2026 shortly after the September visit. I later found out (at the 17th appointment) that a minimum of 6 weeks is required for healing. From the 17th of 2025 to the 14th 2026 is only 4 weeks! My appointment was moved up one week to the 10th of December, but even still that is not 6 weeks! From my researching, yet again, I found out that healing can take up to 3 months. The fact that the office didn't take the time to help me in scheduling is a gross neglect! Back in 2011 I had the adjacent tooth pulled, the oral surgeon packed the gum with cadaver bone and put in a couple of stiches. The tooth that Cercek pulled had bone loss, and I even asked if there would be bone filled in, and the answer was no with no explanation. No stiches either. Why would I go in for a measurement for a partial denture when my gums/mouth are not completely healed. That makes no sense. So, I called to cancel my appointment for the 14th and to relay these complaints to your office manager. I was told she was in a meeting. Did not receive a call back, so called again and was asked if I could be put on a 'brief hold', which I did. 10 minutes after being on hold, I hung up. Called back yet again and was asked 'what is a good time that the office manager could call you back.' Very, very poor customer service. And this is not even the whole story, but that would require a very very lengthy review.
