Arrived for a cleaning yesterday, May 27, 2026. The front desk employees were welcoming and I was quickly checked in. I was promptly brought into the examination room, and the first order of business was the dreaded (to me!) X-rays, which are, of course, essential for proper dental health care. Amazingly, Jackie made this procedure quick and easy- it was over before I knew it. This is usually the worst part of my dental experience, but Jackie was well aware of my trepidation and saw to it that I was comfortable the entire time. The hygienist, Morgan, was friendly, efficient and skilled- I was completely at ease while she worked and I was done before I knew it . Finally, Dr.Pham gave me an overall assessment of my dental health- health was friendly, professional and reassuring. The Desert Valley Dental Office here is bright, clean and well laid out, and has a very pleasant atmosphere- even the background music is pleasant!Highly recommend. read more

Made an appointment today at this office for a tooth extraction. Got here and they did a full mouth x ray and asked why. They stated is that they always do that. I stated bull. Afterwards they stated they had no surgeon to do the extraction after all of that. Then they charged me for an exam with no tooth extraction. They knew when I made the appointment that there was no surgeon to do extractions but made the appointment anyway. They stated all this after the exam. They did not provide me the service I came in for but wanted me to pay for the exam. I stated, hell no. They said they'd call the police. What a bunch of scammers. Hubby and I walked in to the office last Friday to see if we could have our dental needs done here. We were greeted by Archie, who, after a few questions, set up an appointment for dental cleaning, X-rays, and to meet the dentist. We were sent a link to fill out the paperwork. Today I was seen by Beth, the dental hygienist, and I was impressed and happy with her care. She was fast and thorough, and she has been doing this for years. We moved to Reno last August, and missed our 6 month cleaning for last July and January. I called a dentist next to US Bank and they said December is the soonest they could see us. So GLAD I went to Desert Valley Dental! I met with the dentist and everything is good so I'll be back in 6 months. Beware, you have to fill paperwork out online and it's very unfriendly. I forgot, and the woman was not happy. Oh well, I had to hand her my phone because it's hard to fill out. Clean offices. All staff are friendly and explained everything they were doing as the appointment went along. The Dr was very clear and concise in his explanation of what he would be doing and looking for in the exams. The hygienist was very friendly and helpfully explained how best to clean the gums. What an absolutely amazing experience all around! This dental office runs smoother than a baby's bottom! Checked in with Leticia at the front desk who also helped me initially set up all of my appointments for my family of 4 and I. She is very on point, knows her stuff and certainly understands how to make one feel very welcomed! Don't get me started on just how patient she is! Had a couple of minor bumps along the way, however she eased us through the entire process without making us feel like a burden! And at one point I felt like I was being a bit cumbersome for sure! She reassured me that I was not being so and moving forward we did! Smooth sailing from there! My name was called almost immediately after checking in, which I thought was heavenly! Like what? Don't recall personally the last time that happened at any dr's office!! Went in, Helen (the dental assistant?) took my stats, and I've gotta mention her demeanor is precisely what any dental/dr's office needs! Very calming energy and yet so darn friendly! Oh and efficient as well! Dr. Pham arrived directly afterward and explained the plan of action mentioning all options for future plan, along with all options. He has a way about him that sets one at ease, and does so quite naturally, he's certainly compassionate, which I've gotta say all dentists/doctors should be! No b.s. just right down to the nitty gritty, but in all the right ways, which again was very much appreciated! Morgan truffled in following the doc, introducing herself with a bright smile ready to work her magic! I have a couple of issues with a few teeth at the front that have thinning enamel due to a drunken stupor in my very early years/20's, and she could not have been more gentle as I was concerned that they'd possibly chip/crack during the cleaning process. Compared to my previous dentist which I had to mention to at least 3 different times to pls be careful and yet not 1 of those times during that teeth cleaning were my words taken serious! Probably one of the reasons I haven't returned, aside from one other! Thankfully Morgan was attentive and oh so kind! Grace checked me out and I kid u not looked nearly identical to a gal cousin of mine! Even had to show her a picture, lol! What an excellent, astonishing, awe-inspiring time had at Dessert Dental Valley! I look forward to returning for future work on this schnozzle of mine! I went in for two deep cleanings. Still had plaque on my two front teeth on the bottom. I was charged $180 for medicine to help my gums heal faster. Took the hygienist 15 seconds to apply it. Not covered by insurance. Probably because it's not necessary. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

After 45 minutes past my appointment time I went to the receptionist and was told I still needed to wait for them to clean the room because they just got done with person before me. I feel sad that I have to write a poor review for this place. My first visit was great, the dentist was kind and understanding and his assistant was friendly and easy to talk to. (TLDR: A fluoride rinse costs $50 extra. My cleaning was rushed and poor quality. The older female dentist was prideful and rude.) My second visit was the complete opposite. I was there to do a cleaning only. I was called inside for my appointment and immediately told that my cleaning didn't include a fluoride rinse, that would be an extra $50. Since when does a mouth full of fluoride cost them $50? The entire bottle costs about that. That in itself is completely ridiculous. I'm getting my cleaning done and I can tell the hygienist and doing a rush job and I'm sitting there thinking, are they just busy today or something? Then I notice one of the older female dentist's pacing in the hallway outside our room. Like she's impatiently waiting for my hygienist to be done. My hygienist is visibly nervous and rushing. (She did such a rush job cleaning that she didn't get all the stains off, and I had to finish the cleaning myself when I got home). She "finishes" and the dentist comes in with her assistant, and I can tell the assistant is nervous too. This dentist was talking to her assistant with rude disdain and the assistant kept calling her doctor after everything she said. This woman was acting like she was the queen of England she was so full of pride and everyone else should fear her. Then she proceeds to talk to me like I'm an annoyance to her. Telling me what I need done. Apparently, I need some very expensive work done?? This was news to me and I wasn't expecting to hear this when I came in for a cleaning. She came at me with the same rude attitude, and said "well, it's here in your records." I let her know I was not told anything about this and I'm a bit surprised. I was starting to get upset now and she could see it, which at that point she decided to change her tune and try to be nice to me. Now she's nice, when she explaining all this expensive work I need to get done. I get scooted up to the front, where they begin telling me how much all this work is going to cost and hurriedly trying to get me to sign up for their credit line. Thank God it didn't go through and I was able to leave without getting signed up for it. I've never met a doctor of any profession act so prideful before and I'm not quite sure why this dentist thinks people should be groveling at her feet. read more

fluoride fluoride fluoride that's all you hear when you come in. You need more FLUORIDE!! Fluoride rinses, fluoride toothpaste, etc. Prescription needed, must buy through them, of course. I'm in my 40s, never had a cavity in my life and they tried pushing this fluoride treatment on me. I almost took the bait. Then I started listening to EVERY patient that came in after me. They all needed fluoride, imagine that! Of course, it's not covered under insurance since it's totally unnecessary. Shady. Sketchy. I have always gone there. Now after everything done. I started in December last year. Today is May 23. I went for a bridge talked into by them. The bridge broke twice. I was told oh that never happens. Well than why on me??? Today was finally going to get fixed. I never said anything held my breath. Sorry I have nothing to say but bad if I cou give a zero I would. Staff is great but they messed me up over and over! I was told oh a bridge could only break once well that twice are you kidding me. So this all started in December last year. I will say that they were always understanding and kind while I was actually a patient - and that they never were bad with their treatments. The problem came after my insurance changed. I told them this, but since it was the same company everyone assumed it would work. Until months later, they're charging me 150 for the cleaning. Saying that I owe them money for services that should have been covered by my insurance. They have systems and such to check these things. They know more than I do about these things. They should have been the ones to change things. Money is tight right now, and this sudden bill is the reason for such a low review - especially in light of the paper they had me sign, where I explicitly agreed to a certain out of pocket payment in return for a certain service. I would not recommend this office to anyone. I had some tooth pain and scheduled an appointment with this dentist. I had not been to the dentist in a while and knew I would probably need at least deep cleaning/periodontal treatment, as well as some fillings. To start, the dentist never introduced himself to me, showed very little care. His treatment plan was 4 fillings and 2 crowns, but never mentioned anything about periodontal treatment. This made me uneasy and I sought a second opinion because this diagnosis seemed like it was missing something. I went to Reno Dental Associates and their treatment plan was 3 fillings and deep cleaning for my entire mouth. They could tell from the x-rays that I needed the deep cleaning, and couldn't believe this dentist from Desert Valley Dental never said anything about periodontal treatment. I ended up going with Reno Dental Associates treatment plan which was less expensive and better treatment. Desert Valley Dental was a waste of time and money, I wish I never went there to begin with. read more

Waste of time.I went for my 9:30 appointment wasn't seen until after 10:15 .Overheard customer say he was returning for the third time to have a cap they installed put back in.That's when I started to be concerned.I asked the dentist for a ballpark figure on dentures.She said that the people out front could answer that .She said she didn't know her fees. Let me tell you where their estimate came in ,over $7,000 dollars ! I have a Mercedes and I know they cost a little more to maintain so I am not cheap or broke.My friend went to Absolute Dental $ 3200 for his dentures. Hmmm. Dr. Goodman recommended a tooth be capped instead of a filling. Since I am not a dentist, I did not question the recommendation, and had the tooth prepared for a cap and a temporary cap put on. The temporary broke two days later. Went in, and they made another temporary. Long story short, there was five temporary caps in two weeks. Dr. Goodman recommended that my wife have a tooth capped, instead of repair of a "leaky filling." We cancelled the appointment and made an appointment with another dentist for a second opinion. The second opinion was that no cap was needed, and that the filling did not need to be replaced. Was my cap needed, or did I have dental work completed that I did not need? Did I go through the anguish of five temporary caps when the cap was not needed? I will never know. I should send Dr. Goodwin the bill for psychological counseling for allowing this dentist to have me as a patient. read more

UPDATE- Scam? At our final visit/cleaning I was told my son had a cavity. There were no x-rays taken and no dentist exam. I went for a second opinion at another office and they found no cavity after a full set of x-rays. I used to love this office but not any more! Over the years the staff changes have not been for the better. In fact, the last visit I was told my child had a cavity that we should've been told about at his last cleaning (six months before). I have been a patient for decades now and will not be returning. I just received a threatening, passive aggressive letter saying I owed money for an x-ray they assured me was covered by my insurance. It was not. The letter asked me to check a statement: "I will pay in full" or "I want this to go to collections". Then provided an envelope so small it doesn't even fit the check. Nope. There are a lot of options in Reno. Choose another one. They know nothing about insurance and the services aren't great either. It's actually freeing to be on the market for a dentist who will appreciate loyalty and good insurance. read more

Everyone at desert valley dental in reno nv off stead blvd. Were nice, friendly and after a little hiccup with when I scheduled my appointment around the time my children get out of school. They were very accommodating and got me in and out quickly. The next day I went back in for a cleaning. This time I scheduled my appointment earlier in the morning and just like the day before everyone was nice and friendly. I got in and out at a good time. I recommend them to you. I will start this with the fact that I never saw a Dentist. I arrived for an appointment on January 31. I was told that I didn't have an appointment that day, but, I was scheduled for an appt on May 15. I figured I could have made a mistake and wrote down the appt in May. I showed up the 30 minutes before my appt at 12:30. The window was closed. Somebody came out at 1 o'clock and asked for the names of the 2 people in the waiting room and took the other woman back. She came back out and told me that my appt wasn't until 1:30 and they are at lunch until then. I showed her the text that had been sent to me that morning that reminded me that my appt was at 1 PM. She shrugged her shoulders and said "Your appt is at 1:30". This may not seem like a big deal but this is 2 times I have come to their practice for scheduled appts and was kind of laughed at. Extremely poor customer service. When they are seeking appointments, they hound by calling and texting over and over again. When there is an appointment, they do not communicate to you that there is an emergency, and they are running late. Then when you get into the patient room their bed side manner is skeptical at best. They treat you like you are an imposition on their time. I am a grown up women with thoughts, and feelings, and opinions. They are have really bent my fears, and worries. Dr. Eberle is the worst dentist I've been to in my life. He screams at his staff and is rude to his patients. His negligence during a root canal broke my front tooth, but they have you sign a waiver, while you're in too much pain to read it, before they will see you! When I initially made my appointment to have one of my teeth looked at, I was full of dread because I hate going to the dentist. As soon as I went into the examination room, Morgan, the hygienist, immediately made me feel comfortable. She was so gentle in cleaning my teeth, that I never felt that panic rise up that I have had in the past with other dental appointments elsewhere. I used to enjoy going to the dentist. That is, until I first visited Desert Valley Dental over 3 years ago. I can't understand why I ever returned...unfortunately I did and Dr Kelly and the dental Hygienist were so unfriendly and almost rude, telling me that I needed to have a crown put on and made it sound so urgent that I scheduled it for the following week. Not only did they work on the tooth that needed a crown, but thought it would be a good idea to take care of a filling on the same side of my mouth. I left feeling over medicated, and had extreme jaw pain for days (since my mouth was forced open for so long). I can't tell you what an absolute miserable experience I had not only with this dentist, but the office staff was also so unfriendly! The following weeks only got worse. I needed more medication and the front desk person said my dentist wasn't in and therefore could t authorize more meds. I almost started crying. She finally said she would ask another dentist. No apologies! So rude! Long story short - I had NO PAIN before I went in, and was left with months of pain, an emergency root canal on that tooth, severe neck pain from all the tooth pain, and would DEFINITELY NOT recommend going here. I had good insurance and I feel like they took advantage of this. Rude staff and unpleasant experience walking in every time.
