We stopped into Device for lunch while in the area for my daughter's soccer tournament today. We arrived before 11am and there were only 2 other parties seated in the whole place. The space is pretty big with a giant bar. It's a great place for large parties and celebrations. They even have games including Skee-ball and pinball machines. As far as food, it took 30 minutes for our food to arrive even with the place being empty. All we ordered was chicken tenders (no sides) and a breakfast burrito. When the server brought over our food, I could tell immediately how poorly the burrito was made - it was too much tortilla and not enough filling. They also cut it at a weird angle so it fell apart while we were eating it. The tenders were good, but overall, the food we ordered was disappointing. Maybe we just ordered the wrong items, I'm not sure. My husband ordered a beer and he really liked it. I'm sure we'd be back for the beer and vibes! read more

I wanted to stop by Device because of Ginger Elizabeth Chocolate. They're a local chocolate shop and I tried their DIPA chocolate made with one of Device Brewing's IPAs. I walked in after finding a spot in their huge lot and asked what the beer used in the chocolate was. No one really knew, but I did try their flagship IPA, HOP REVOLT. I was hungry so I ended up getting their Philly Cheesesteak. The sandwich honestly could have been better. It felt more like a loose meat sandwich than a Philly-there wasn't much cheese on it and you that's half of what makes a cheesesteak a cheesesteak. The roll was claimed to be authentic which it could be, but I'm sure a coast to coast trip meant it wasn't going to be the freshest. I had their Oktoberfest as a last drink which was ok. The beers were ok but the food leaves something to be desired. read more

This is a very cool spot! Super spacious with tons of both indoor and outdoor tables available. You can also rent out a space in the brewery. We actually didn't try the beer but the food was very good! The pretzel sticks were decent but not our favorite. The best thing was the fish and chips for sure! Super light, flaky, and fresh. The tots were also very good. The chicken sandwich was flavorful. We'll be back to try potentials next time! Saw that this place was serving brunch so I went to try it. Got their waffles and bacon and eggs benedict. The waffles was not good. Usually for waffles, you would think of a crispy outside with a soft inside but nope. The waffles was just all around soggy and tasted just like a pancake. The fruits on the waffles tasted sour and like it was placed out for a while. The egg benedict needed some major seasoning. It tasted so bland . I felt like the least they could do was season it properly with salt and pepper. One of the eggs that I received was fully cooked. I don't recommend this place for brunch. We came here for a surprise birthday celebration. I have never been here and this place is really big, which can accommodate a large group. They also have a mini arcade area for everyone to enjoy. We opted to sit inside, but there are ample room outside too if you choose. The person who assisted us informed us that we could access the menu through the QR code on the table. I like the concept of being able to pay for your own food if you are there with a large group. I ended up ordering the western bacon cheeseburger with a side salad. My friend got the bangers and mash. Once we ordered and confirmed the order, the food came out at a reasonable time. My burger was pretty good and I also tried the bangers and mash and it tasted fantastic. It also came with a side of Brussels sprouts, which were cooked perfectly. I've been here twice for Sunday Morning football which is nice with a good amount of tv's. It gets pretty lively with families a little closer to noon but I just ask for the sound to be turned up a bit to drown out the extra noise. They have a good selection of beer and ciders. It's very casual and everyone is pretty friendly and willing to chat. The food comes out quickly. I've had the breakfast sandwich and it was yummy! There was a mistake with my order (the way the egg was cooked) but they were very quick to fix it no problem. We'll defintely come back to try more menu items and watch the games. I am a fan of Device's brews but I absolutely love the Pocket location! It's big and spacious and even when it's hopping, it doesn't feel overly crowded. I love the old timey 90's mall vibe in that atrium area. I also really enjoy the food there! You can always get food outside of the place and bring to have on their patio. I have found that their pretzel bites are super tasty - But I really enjoyed a few of their specials. I've been to this Device location a few times now, mostly on Trivia Nights (Wednesdays at 6:30pm) and it's my favorite Device Location! I love that they have plenty of outdoor seating, it makes it easy to bring our dog with us and has been great during the pandemic as we practice social distancing and prefer outdoor dining. This location has an awesome beer AND food menu and all of the dishes I've tried have been delicious. I love their pesto tater tots, and really any restaurant that has tater tots on the menu is a winner to me! The staff is also super friendly and on some of these colder winter nights they've been really accommodating making sure to do Trivia for indoor and outdoor diners on their Wednesday nights and making sure the heaters are working (ours ran out of propane last time and they made sure to fix it right away to keep us warm). I've tried a Device Brewing beer 4 pack cans from Costco which is their What the Haze? It is their delicious, citrusy, crisp, and juicy HAZY IPA. *Mouth waters* If they are local then I'd have to come by and try more right? Decided to come into this location on a Friday since it's on my way home from work. Plentiful parking in the shopping center near Raley's and CVS. I even saw a nail shop and Anime store next door which is awesome. Walked in and there were signs that said to find a seat and you can use the QR code to order your food or go to the bar and order. Noticed an arcade area toward the back of the restaurant and enough to keep kids occupied. I found that their method of finding a seat and using the QR code was more efficient in ordering and getting your food without having to flag someone down. Only issue was if I needed something off the menu I couldn't wave someone down unless they came out and served someone else. The service is a mix of self serve/customer service. I found my seating outdoor because inside was super packed. I scanned the code, ordered my drinks and food from my phone, and had a tab opened with my card #. The drinks came out quick along with the food being fresh and hot (beside the salad of course). I found the time I went (5:30 pm) was during happy hour so my sister and I ordered from the HH menu. We ordered: Chicken strips with garlic fries, half of a Cesar salad which was still a lot, pretzel sticks w/cheese, beers and mimosas. Another time I went with a friend and ordered onion rings and chili and my friend ordered the fried Brussel sprouts. Overall food experience is decent but drinks were always delicious. I've tried so many times to like this place, but this most recent is my last attempt. The patty melt was horrible. There's literally better cheese in jail. The jalapeño poppers and onion rings were both served to us cold. One onion "ring" was just a solid end of an onion around a half inch thick, dipped in batter and fried. The macaroni and cheese needed a good stir since the top layer was you guessed it, cold. My boyfriend said his cheeseburger wasn't bad, but for $20 not worth the price. They were not busy and it was so obvious whoever was supposed to serve our food to us left it sitting to get cold (surprise yes it gets cold under a heat lamp). The staff doesn't provide table service so all they do is drop off food and pour beers. Idk why everything sucks so much. And idk what I'm paying or tipping for at this place to be honest? The food comes out really, really slow, cold and substandard. Follow it up with literally no service and all for $72 before a tip? More than half of these items are on happy hour? Although I'm not a huge fan of beer, I sometimes indulge just to enjoy the good company of my beer drinking buddies. Due to the pandemic, safely catching up with friends can be a challenge; however, I was ecstatic when a buddy of mine agreed to meet up with me at Device to catch up and consume a couple brews. Upon arrival, I noticed a generous outdoor seating area...I couldn't believe that this used to be a Tuesday Morning. Walking into the establishment, I noticed that there were two lines at the wrap around bar area. After a short wait in line, I was warmly greeted by a gentleman by the name of Ryan. I placed an order for the Beauregard Blueberry & Lavender cider (absolutely delicious). After receiving my beverage I sat at a physically distanced table that faced a television that was playing an early 2000's Laker's game (RIP Kobe). When my friend arrived, I ordered the 8.6% (go hard or go home!) #Citra&Chill IPA (strongly recommended by Ryan) and an order of wings + garlic parmesan fries (also recommended by Ryan). I'm usually not a fan of food served at bars and breweries. However, I was thoroughly satisfied with the quality of the beer and food at Device. When my wife and I lived in Greenhaven, we often complained about there not being enough places to lounge and have a drink or two (I believe the only place at the time was called The Trap). However, things have changed and Device Brewing is definitely a well-needed and appreciated establishment in the Greenhaven area...I will be back soon! read more

You see the employees working together as a team which is nice to see. There is a great selection of beers and cider. Food is hit and miss. There are items that I prefer more than others. Seems this restaurant has changed its business model to accommodate a smaller workforce using an on-site self ordering system and self serve soda fountain. The QR code/website is pretty simple except I became confused trying to order beverages and ended up at the bar for help. The staff is very friendly and they seem more than ready to step in when the order appears to be unfinished (like my missing beverages). Once you get passed the self-ordering/paying learning curve you'll find the food and beer worth the minor trouble. I had the hand-dipped corn dog that was fried to perfection. The Garlic Tater Tots with Parmesan were hard to stop eating except the blue cheese sauce was runny and the beer cheese sauce tasted a bit watered down - but it didn't stop me from eating. The Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was delicious on a very soft and fresh roll. I chose the Kids Rule Pale Ale beer and for us fans of pale ale it was refreshing. Device A dear friend of mine and I visited Device Brewery's somewhat new venue located in the Promenade Shopping Center found in the south pocket Greenhaven subdivision, Sacramento. This Device Brewery location has extended the indoor seating to the outside area under the breezeway between the other retailers. The outside seating is enclosed by a 3ft iron fence to keep guests in an "enclosed area" while they enjoy a refreshing beverage with their meal. When my friend and I arrived there was a live strings band with a stand up base and a mandolin (+1 for that!!.). And they had Piney the Elder on tap, which gets yet another +1 and a :) from me. On the other hand, however, I must mention a few things we noticed and experienced, that is aside from the excellent live band and delicious Piney... We ordered a couple of small bites that took over 45 minutes to be ready for pick up. You know when you're handed that little square object with the dancing red lights that illuminate on the perimeter - it took a very long time for those lights to go off. Our food was delicious, yet we were dismayed at the downsized portion paired with the upsized cost. For $15.50 we received 7 chicken wings, 2 slices of celery, and 1 sliced carrot. We had arrived by 4:00 pm and the place was crowded by 6:00 pm so as a side note: get there early. read more

My husband and I came to this Device Brewing location upon the recommendation of a friend not for their beer, which we know is fantastic, but actually for their food. Our friend, who is from Philadelphia, said that the Philly cheesesteak at this Device location is the closest thing she has found to an authentic Philly cheesesteak on the West Coast. Craving a Philly cheesesteak, we decided to give it a try. We brought our two Great Pyrenees pups with us and were thrilled that they offer a dog-friendly patio with heat lamps. Since it was a cold night, we were the only ones crazy enough to sit outside but the staff were more than willing to turn on a heat lamp for us. The gentleman who helped us, who I believe was the manager, and I believe his name was Andrew, went above and beyond! We placed our order for food and drinks and since we had our hands full with our dogs, he helped carry our beverages out to our table. Everyone that worked there was so kind and attentive and loved our pups which made us happy in return. But back to the Philly cheesesteak, the whole reason we came...I absolutely loved it! Thinly sliced beef, filling the bread to the brim. Gooey melted cheese (provolone, not Cheese Whiz) and the added bonus of sautéed mushrooms and peppers. For my side, I chose tater tots which were crispy and golden perfection. I will agree with my friend from Philadelphia - this is hands-down my favorite Philly cheesesteak that I have tried on the West Coast. Plenty of parking, plenty of indoor seating and high-top bar seating. Arcade games and even a private, adult-only area. During Covid, Device has been a fun brewery to meet friends at. They have a large parking lot, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The guys on the register have all been awesome and very knowledgeable about the beers and the food menu. There are several large Vizio 50" televisions around the brewery to watch the Giants beat the Dodgers and/or NFL games. Lol, they have an Adult only zone with fancy chairs and end tables. I haven't sampled the food yet, but I haven't heard anything bad about the items yet. The brewery carries a bunch of their own brews with a few guest beers, ciders, and seltzers. A few of the beers on their beer list are can pour only, so you must be aware of that when choosing beers. You can see their beer menu on Untapped beer app. Restrooms are much nicer than several breweries I've been too. Both men and women's bathrooms. No unisex restrooms. Their is an arcade area I assume for kids to play while their parents are enjoy some draft beers. However, if you have the urge you can settle a score with some skeeball, lol. read more

I ordered my food and it took the kitchen over 45 minutes to get my order out. People before and after my place in line had already gotten their food and left the establishment. When I asked the manager where our food was and the food was finally delivered to us, I realize that this business has to depend on drunks or people under the influence to be able to appreciate their food... because their food SUCKS. Everything was out of flavor for the normal, sober person. The sauces did not hit right and a lot of things in the plate just tasted bland. Overpriced in my opinion. read more

This is probably one of the friendliest breweries I have ever been to! What a nice experience on such a busy, I mean very busy, evening. Went on a Wednesday evening for trivia with my two girlfriends. As I walked in, I was in stunned by how large and busy this place is, and immediately I put my guard up, took a deep breath, and told myself over and over again, "remember to be patient", expecting what I usually receive when places are crowded, staff making you feel like you need to rush when you order, and sometimes become irritated at your questions...to my beautiful surprise, it was the complete opposite. Everyone was super friendly. We ordered fish and chips, which were delicious, and the fried pickles were perfect! The Mac and Cheese and the Ceviche were OK, but I'm told there are more appetizing dishes we must try, so we're excited to go back and taste some more! I have to give a shout out to the amazing lady pouring beer! I wished I asked for her name! I asked for a flight, let her know what I tend to like, and she said, "I got you", and boy did she ever!!!! I liked/loved every single beer she poured me: Rice Crispy, Ofrenda, Made in Sac, Anguish, and my favorite, Integral. Oh and trivia guy questions were so difficult for us, but he was great! Came here for the 1st last week. I was excited to try both the beer and food. First: the beer selection was good. I personally enjoy the beers I tried which was the Pineapple Cannon, Strawberry Mojito, and a drink I cant remember the exact name...I believe it was Tropical Stormtrooper. The food was not so good. I ordered the chipotle chicken nachos...very unappetizing. The chipotle sauce threw everything off. As you can see in the photo it was barely touched. I tried to eat it cause i dont like wasting food or money...but I couldnt. Then i ordered 2 tacos, 1 shrimp taco and 1 chicken lime taco. The shrimp taco was sooooo flavorful, however underneath all that cabbage was only two shrimp. So I didn't get to enjoy that good flavor in each bite. The chicken lime taco (the taco bitten in the photo) was extremely dry with minimal flavor. I was really looking forward to tasting that lime with the chicken but it just wasn't there. I didnt give one star because the beer was star worthy. I do believe in second chances so I will be back for some more beer and to try other menu items. read more
