I had the chance to try the Dubai Chocolate Cup and the Dubai Chocolate Chewy Cookie. The cup was a 2/5 for me - a bit underwhelming in flavor and execution (especially as someone who thoroughly enjoys the chocolate bar version). However, that chewy cookie on the other hand... take a slooow bite and savor the mochi-like texture. Pleasantly dense, soft, and satisfyingly chewy. The only drawback? Bro!! I literally wanted to kick myself in the behind for coming all this way [to Daly City] in order to get my daughter some tanghulu. I've been searching far and wide for an establishment who sells these traditional sugar coated fruit skewers and the only thing that kept coming up was Devil & Angel. On any normal given situation, I would have been ecstatic since we have a Devil & Angel located near home- but that would just make my life waaay too easy and the universe just couldn't have it go down like that. LMAO!! Long story short, I had a bad experience with the Devil & Angel near home and literally boycotted this business as an ENTIRE whole. Yes, I was 100% being overly dramatic but they just rubbed me the wrong way. Now, my sister had previously visited this particular Devil & Angel [located in Serramonte Mall/Center] and immediately told me to take my toddler here! I didn't ask for too many details beyond her explaining the little shop was located near Target. I didn't get a name for the business and simply came here blindly. Yes, I was disappointed because I'm super hard headed and was firm about my boycott but since we made the drive out here & my toddler had already spotted the large advertising signage.... I couldn't say no. Ordering is all done via the kiosk per staff's orders. This process was super easy, very straightforward. The tanghulu options available were: strawberry+pineapple, strawberry+grape, & only grape. My toddler went with the strawberry, grape combo. Once payment was made, the staff behind the counter immediately handed off the fruit skewer. The fruit stick was neatly placed in a mini cup to assist in transporting and eating. For $7.64 a stick [post taxes], this won't break the bank but this is undeniably super profitable for the business. The sugar coating isn't overly thick but was still sickenly sweet IMO. Keep in mind, strawberries are current not in season so they aren't at its sweetest potential and I still couldn't manage more than my first bite. No complaints on my kid's part because she ate this thaaaang up! 3 stars in my book but I added one more star specifically for my toddler. She had the most amazing time munching away on this and I'm thankful to fulfill her deep longing for these kebobs. read more

Easy quick stop since it's at Serramonte Mall. Tons of dessert choices so it gets overwhelming. Devil & Angel Desserts a good place to go for a sweet treat and it's a fun experience overall. Not everything on the menu is a must-order, but a few items really stood out. I loved the tanghulu--fresh fruit with that perfectly crunchy sugar shell, super satisfying and not overly sweet. The drinks were the highlight for me too. The Blue Lagoon was refreshing and fun, and the Guava Lychee Refresher was light, fruity, and honestly the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Tried the Dubai Chocolate Strawberry cup since it looked tempting but I would skip it next time. I randomly stumbled upon this place when I was strolling around the mall on a Sunday afternoon recently. I've been looking for a place near me that sold tanghulu for awhile now and realized this place sells them! Tanghulu are fruits that are coated with a melted sugar coating and hardened to give it a hard candy texture. I knew I had to try it! We got the Mixed Fruit Tanghulu and the mixed fruits that day was grapes and strawberry. I loved how fun and crunchy this dessert is, but it ended up getting too sweet for me after eating 3 fruits on the stick. I'd recommend this place! They sell a variety of drinks and dessert items. I was SO excited for Devil Angel deserts to open for the longest time. I was hoping Serramonte would expand their food options since the food court could use some work. I'm a huge sweets advocate and we need more dessert places in the mall! I was happy that they finally opened and I went to try something out this past weekend. I really love the interior of the place. They have two grass walls where you can take photos for your social media, and the space is fairly large for what it is. They have a variety of desserts + treats you can choose from, such as boba, smoothies, soft serve, and refreshers. The line for this place can get pretty long as well. They only have 1 kiosk and 1 register, but no one is actually taking orders on the register. There are a few workers in front making all the drinks and handling all the soft serve orders. However if you need help or need to make an adjustment to your order, you can definitely flag someone down to let them know. The kiosk itself can only take card, apple pay/google pay - no cash at this time. You do have to input your phone number + name, but I don't believe you get a text message. They will call your name out once your order is ready. I ended up getting the following: -Thai Tea (regular with boba) -Vietnamese Coffee (regular with no boba) -Cookies n Creme soft serve ice cream with taiyaki My order came out to be around $20-21? -REVIEW OF EACH ITEM- -Thai Tea: I feel like this could have been better. The Thai Tea itself had such a light tea flavor, and it felt so watered down. If they upped the tea flavor itself, I think it would be solid. However, the boba (tapioca pearls) were good. 2/5 for me. -Vietnamese Coffee: this was a disappointment and does not taste like Vietnamese coffee at all. It definitely tasted like those pre-made iced mocha drinks you can buy at the grocery store. It had a coffee jelly like taste and was more milky. I'd probably skip this if you're a Vietnamese coffee lover like myself. 1/5 -Soft Serve Ice Cream with Oreo: This was probably the best thing I got. I opted to get a swirl to try their vanilla and strawberry together. It's not so much cookies n creme flavored ice cream - they only add oreo crumbles on top of your choice of soft serve... and they just call it cookies n creme. The taiyaki itself was super chewy and fresh! I wish you could add this to any soft serve option they have, but there was no option to on the kiosk. They lined the inside with a thin layer of red bean, which you didn't really notice as much. The vanilla and strawberry ice cream was good to say the least. Eating them both together reminded me of strawberry milk! I did get a bit sugared out after having so much. Overall, I think this place can be improved. I think being able to adjust sweetness levels or just enhancing their drink bases would be great. It's great if you want a sugar rush or you're new to having boba, but definitely not rushing to come back anytime soon. read more

He actually had to wait until the ice melted to finish it to dilute the flavor. My fresh milk was O K, tasted more like straight up milk than anything and just the TINIEST bit of burnt cream on the top. It was also whole milk and for some reason this milk tasted extra heavy and I couldn't finish it. Got the matcha strawberry smoothie and it was a but too sweet for my taste. The base seems to be vanilla and it's the main flavor of the drink which is disappointing because you can barely taste the strawberry or matcha. There wasn't a sweetness adjustment for this drink either but maybe there is for their others? Taiyaki and ice cream is exciting! I really like ice cream that's creamy (rather than icy), portions a bit more substantial, and waffles that carry that vanilla or buttery taste whilst having that lingering waffle smell (and warm). Devil Angel Desserts doesn't quite deliver imo. The ordering from the kiosk promotes lack of service / greetings / calling for attention to ask questions. It's also ot appetizing to touch a a large screen everyone has touched and then work on catching the waffle from falling out of the cup - then feeding yourself. The menu isn't very extensive. Typically I do think of small menus to have selected just the best variety of flavors. This was more of a novelty for me and I can say I've tried it. My husband ordered the matcha strawberry. He commented it didn't look impressive as we compared it to other places that let you see the layers with this similar drink. However it tasted ok, but again not much strawberry flavor. Overall, this place is just ok and seems to still have a lot of kinks, and that seems to be consistent with the current Yelp reviews. I would probably go somewhere else if there was a choice. They do have boba soft serve which not a lot of other places have yet. The flavors they had were vanilla and ube.
