I come here once a year always around Valentine's Day. It was a very nice quiet evening because it was super bowl night, plenty of tables. The menu has changed a bit which is nice to have some nice options on here for more economical pocketbooks which is what we tried. I would recommend the three course meals that they have for $46 and $54. Plates are still very full, no reduction here due to inflation. Everything came out hot, quickly, and everything was amazing. Our server was great, very attentive and checked on us several times. The parking lot here can be very atrocious at times, it's also a very narrow and an unusual pattern for the parking lot, so I would recommend coming a few minutes early just to be on the safe side. read more

I went here for restaurant week and I could drool thinking about it. I was so excited to have found this place for a nice dinner and honestly, I feel like I really got my moneys worth- if not more- from their restaurant week menu. The waitress was nice, the interior was pretty, and it was all great even down to the complimentary appetizer cheddar biscuits we were given. They also had more mix and match combonations than I expected. I was able to swap out one of my sides for lobster risotto which I got excited about. My sister (a west sider) talks about how good Devon's is all the time. Had date night with the hubby so we dined here after seeing Batman at the Imax nearby. The parking lot is congested and cramped due to the restaurant being connected to a strip of other businesses. The inside is nice and dim lit and the booths have plexi glass set up in between due to covid which is a nice touch. Our server was very very nice and informative about the menu. From the fresh fish menu, I ordered cocktail shrimp for an appetizer, Atlantic salmon with lobster risotto and brussell sprouts as my sides for dinner. All amazing. I enjoyed the aioli sauce more than the cocktail sauce that came with the shrimp. The shrimp were perfect in size, texture and temperature. The salmon was PERFECTLY cooked, seasoned well and had this smoky mesquite flavor. Juicy and delicious. The lobster risotto could have used a bit more flavor but it was tasty. This was our first time dining out since the pandemic. It felt really good to dine out again and Devon's was a nice start. I will dine here again for sure if I'm ever in the Oakbrook area. read more

We have been there a few times and some of our families have also gone there. The Restuarant is really nice. The tables are set nice. The service is excellent. and wait staff help you with any questions. The food is great; everything is made in house no bottle or pre frozen on meat or vegetables. Our server made sure the food came out at the correct time. So, you can finish up your salad or soup before your next food order coming out and sitting on your table getting cold. Our steaks came out as the way we ordered it. Their garlic mashed potatoes were great and hot. Our vegetable was Asparagus, and it was not over cooked, and it had a snap when you cut them. Our dessert was a raspberry tort, and it came with homemade vanilla ice cream. We were full and our server said I will box your tort and give you a dish of the vanilla ice cream. She stated that you don't want to miss the ice cream. We were glad we didn't. A little while after our main dish was delivered the manager came to our table to ensure everything was good. We really liked on how we were serviced and that they really wanted to make our dinner excellent. To me that is called great service and great food. You can't ask for more. read more

Upscale and casual. It has all the makings of an upscale restaurant but it feels very casual inside. They do have a small outdoor patio but only open in warmer months. As the name states, it is a seafood restaurant, but they also have other items in case you're allergic. The prices are pretty good and they even have a meal deal on the menu. The meal deal is to pick 3 items from the list. One is a soup or salad, then a main course, and finally a dessert. There are some really good main course options such as surf and turf....a little steak and seafood. Id recommend this place for date night or a group gathering. read more

Came here for my Grandmas 90th surprise birthday lunch with a large group (with kids). The waitresses were attentive and great at getting everyone drinks (Matilda + Karla) and eventually everyone seated to order food. We had a specialized menu and everything was very good (salmon and mashed potatoes especially!). Service was attentive and kept the drinks coming regularly. A friend and I dropped in during happy hour and was delighted by the menu. I ordered the house wine and she got the eastsider (gin drink) to drink and we both loved them. For apps we got the calamari, firecracker shrimp, shrimp durango, lobster rolls (2 each comes with fries) and bacon cheese sliders (2 each comes with fries). Everything was delicious. We did like the durango shrimp over the firecracker shrimp and decided in the future we would not get it. Having been to Devon in Chicago's Gold Coast, I was certain I would get the same fantastic dining experience at the Oak Brook Terrace location. Having finished work, I opted for a pre-birthday dinner. Oh how glad I was to do that. The lobster bisque is still a favorite and I'm glad the recipe did not get messed up with the addition of non-lobster bisque ingredients like bacon. The salmon with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus were outstanding. I finished with chocolate red velvet that was a layer of mousse and a layer of cake. It was super rich. Having arrived immediately after work, I sat at a hightop in the area adjacent to the bar. There was no crowd and I loved it. Since I rarely make it out to the West Suburbs now that I can work remotely, I haven't had chance to come west to try the offerings. When we resume office occupation, I will come to Devon a little more often. It's worth it. read more

I am not much of a seafood person, but I have enjoyed some of the fish specials. When necessary, the steak has been phenomenal. I also love the hot biscuits with the flavored butter. Every side dish I have tried has been delicious. Our servers have all been wonderful. Just a heads up ~ 6 people in a booth just doesn't work. No problem when we politely declined that offer. Weather permitting, there is a small outdoor seating area but it is located on the south side of the building and right in the parking lot. Parking can be dangerous and sometimes difficult. Because of the other businesses located in this strip mall ~ it limits parking space availability. The decor is fresh and inviting. The bar is located to the left as you enter. There are booths, regular tables, and high-top tables available. We have always had reservations and never had to wait. Certainly worth a visit. read more

I always love Devon! The parking here can be troublesome at times but the ambiance, service, and food makes up for it. I also learned they are good to their employees, providing career paths and education options. This is one of the few places these days where you can start as a busboy and one day be manager. You will notice the turnover rate of employees is much more than other restaurants. It allows you to get to know the staff and ask for your favorite waiter. We eat here regularly. The food is usually excellent. When there's an occasional misstep they are quick to correct it. This is a sign of a great restaurant. I have hosted 5 private dining parties here. Many of my guests have become regulars, too. One time I took my girlfriend and her sister to dinner. My girlfriend received a text from her daughter of her dinner of cedar plank salmon with the caption, we are at Devon Seafood and Steak again. Unknown to them and us, they were seated 5 tables away. This place is the prime example why you don't judge a book by its cover!! Please do not let the outside looks or placement of the restaurant fool you, it's beyond elegant once you walk through the door. This place is the perfect place for any occasion, with intimate lighting throughout, but also a very nice bar, if you just want to grab a drink. The front staff were very welcoming, ensuring everyone was walked to the table and even helped take the family picture. The service was impeccable, just beyond anything I expected that night. Our waitress went above and beyond to ensure my mother's birthday was a success and memorable for her. She took the time to ask if there were any food/drink restrictions so everyone's food was to their liking. The recommendations were spot on, from the Crab Cakes, the Goat Cheese Bruschetta appetizer, the Lobster Mac as a side to the Seafood Mixed Grill and the Swordfish that was prepared to perfection. First I would say that I have been to Devons more times than I care to mention and have never been disappointed however tonight was despicable. After a tough day at work I have been looking forward to my dinner. I would add it is my Birthday. As always I ordered the lobster bisque. In my opinion the best around. We also ordered oysters. My husband had the gumbo which was tasty. Then things went downhill fast. I ordered halibut and hubby ordered sea bass, they turned up before oysters. So I I told them cancel the oyster order which we were looking forward to but not after our main. Then I went to cut into the halibut, it was hard and dry. Obviously overcooked I sent it back and waited for the waitress to return. In the meantime the manager offered oysters on the house. I was hoping my husband could eat the oysters whilst I eat my dinner as he had almost finished and I still hadn't received my meal. but unfortunately my meal did not turn up. I couldn't get anyone's attention and stood up to wave at the manager. I canceled my dinner I said just get check and leave. My birthday meal was a disaster. She offered to give me dinner to take home (nothing like fish warmed up at home!) gave us $25 card off our next meal and bought a slice of cake to take home (I wanted to leave it all on the table but husband took it) We had 3 cocktails that were delicious but to go out for a birthday celebration and leave close to tears is enough for me to never return. We'd heard good things about this place, so we tried it tonight. We started with oysters, really good and fresh. We split the bone in ribeye and the wedge. There was definitely enough to share. The food was delicious. The steak,was seared nicely and served medium rare. Before the meal, there are biscuits with a special butter, also really good. The twice baked potato was great, served a little differently. Cocktails good. The only thing we didn't like was the crème brûlée. It just wasn't what I've had elsewhere; it wasn't creamy and not enough crusty brown sugar on top. They did take it off the bill. Otherwise, nothing to complain about at all. Great service, too. You absolutely cannot beat their happy hour. You can make a delicious meal out of the varied and delicious tastes. Lobster roll, calamari, shrimp Durango (incredibly fresh & generous), crispy cauliflower & the freshest oysters, cheddar biscuits that rival RL (and much better seafood) and great service every single time. We seemed to wait for our appetizers for a while but after they initially arrived, the pace of service leveled out. We started out with their dynamite shrimp, which I forgot to take a photo, but it was delicious! They gave you a lot of shrimp and it also had some tasty shishito peppers! For my main dish I got the seafood mixed grill since I couldn't make up my mind, and a lobster bisque. The lobster bisque was AMAZING. 10/10, the best lobster bisque I've ever had! The seafood mixed grill came with salmon, shrimp, scallops, and a crab cake. Everything was absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed the whipped potatoes it came with as well. My partner got the scallops with lobster risotto, and he let me steal a bite, it was delicious! He was also very happy with his meal.
