Good pizza, but not the best. However, the salads were some of the best we have had in ANY restaurant. I had the harvest salad. It had great greens, figs, goat cheese, sunflower seeds...and not over dressed! The staff us super friendly and efficient. Good selection of draft beer. Worth a try. read more

I finally stopped in to check this place out after hearing my co-workers rave about it for a year. This place didn't disapoint. The pizza was fantastic. So many choices to choose from. They even do half and half of whatever pizza you want. The crust is amazing and toppings are fresh. I don't eat dairy so my pizza was sans cheese yet still amazing. I loved this place so much I came back again for a salad a couple days later. I ordered the large portion for lunch. The dressing was homemade and again the salad was amazing. They have a nice craft beer selection as well as non alcolohic beverages. The service was prompt and friendly. My only con for this place was waiting so long to come and check this place out. After hearing so many good things about Deweys, I was excited to try their pizza. We ordered a half bacon and feta and don corleone. It was larger than expected. There was too much meat and the meat was oily and not caramelized. There was too much sauce on the pizza. I'm not sure if they had an off day but this pizza was just not good and did not live up to the hype. I doubt I will go back. Would rather go to pizza factory or old scratch. read more

EXCELLENT customer service. The friendliest staff I've ever seen! From the hostess, to all the waiters/waitresses, and the manager, all across friendly and attentive! I love that they are able to do half and half with speciality pizzas! We had half Bronx bomber and half Ryan's Inferno, and loved both! They have excellent crust as well. We did not have to wait long at all for our pizza. Several workers came over to our table to top off our water, and take our plates away. They even box your pizza for you, and offered to-go drinks. My only complaint was that the Bronx Bomber had a large amount of green peppers on it, which did not settle well with my stomach. Other than this, we loved it and will be back! They accidentally ended up putting black olives on our pizza due to a technical error, but they were very nice about it. They had a new pie ready for us in no time, gave us a gift card for our patience, and even offered us drinks while we waited! If someone would like to do a case study on amazing customer service, they should come here to Dewey's Pizza. I ordered an 11 inch pizza, half bbq chicken and half porky fig. About 10-15 min after ordering they brought out my pizza and right away and the waiter apologized saying the cook forgot the cheese crumbles on my pizza. Rather than throwing it away, they gave it to the table for free and said we could snack on this while the new pizza was being made. 10 minutes later, the "correctly" cooked pizza made its away out. I put "correctly" in quotes because they probably could have just thrown cheese crumbles at the end and I wouldn't have noticed. Definitely speaks to their high quality standards and integrity! When I asked for the checks the waiter said there was no charge FOR BOTH PIZZAS and apologized again for the mess up. It's been a super long time since I've had exceptional customer service like this. Overall the pizza itself is solid, 4/5 stars, the quality control is 5/5, and the customer service is 6/5 stars (no not a typo). I was just visiting for a business trip, but Dewey's is now my favorite pizza chain. Next time I'm in the area, you can bet your pizza I'm definitely coming back here! read more

Great pizza, but even more their concern about getting it right is just amazing. The customer service is second to none! We ordered a pizza when the brought it out they went out of there way to apologise about what looked like a bubble in the crust had burst in the "middle" of the pie. It really wasn't a concern but they insisted we let them make another for us to take home! My absolute FAVORITE pizza spot. The red sauce is sweet and the crust is perfect and buttery. The toppings are always fresh and service is usually decent. Dewey's style is similar to Pies n' Pints. We go to Dewey's probably once or twice a month, and it's always good. They have some great beers, decent wine, and very responsive and proactive service staff. Very fast paced and not necessarily appropriate for a romantic evening, but if you go later it settles down and is relaxing. Very good salads, calzones and pizzas. Very much enjoy. Just an update, stopped by for dinner this past weekend and we noticed this is one of the few places that you really see the manager hustle with the staff. This guy never stopped moving, just kept clearing and resetting tables, it's always nice to see management and staff working as a team in order to provide a great experience for their guests - kudos. Update #2 - just got back from having dinner and had a really great experience with both the manager, Marie, and the server, Josh. The service is always very good, and Josh definitely took great care of us without being intrusive. Always friendly and dependable, there is always someone there when you need them. Further, Marie went above and beyond in making sure our night was pleasant and that we were taken care of. It's places like this, joints that simply serve great food and great service, that put the stuffy and/or chain places to shame. There should be more places like Dewey's. Fantastic. read more

I know people refer to this as a "chain," but when you're not from the Dayton/Cincy area, it really isn't. Yes, they have a few locations, but that does not constitute chain in my eyes. My husband and I moved to Dayton b/c for work about a year and a half ago, but just recently discovered Dewey's. We LOVE it. We have somewhat high standards when it comes to fresh ingredients and unique ideas because we moved from D.C., where the food is just EPIC. The salads at Dewey's are amazing and always fresh. Our favorite pizza so far has been the Titos, which is seasonal, so I am excited to see what is next! High recommend this place!! read more

I know I'm going to get slammed for this but this pizza is good, the main thing is that the price makes it hard to be come someone who regularly goes back; but then again maybe I am just a poor college student. This place always seems to be packed, so clearly they are doing something right. The pizza crust is good, but sometimes feels overdone by the wide plethora of toppings that Dewys offers. Pretty much anything that you can imagine is available to get on the pizza. I keep coming back for the calzones though, your choice of any three toppings stuffed with ricotta, and mozzarella cheese for 7.95? a great deal, and huge, the size of my head or a large plate to be sure. Dewys also have a great wine and beer selection and a good team service thing going on where you have about a million waiters. It works well but to a point. The kitchen is to small for food to come out in a timely manner when the place is crowded, and I've been here every night of the week and had a short wait to get seated. For a chain restaurant Dewey's serves up delightful eats made with super fresh ingredients - I think our server even stated they don't have a freezer. The salads are loaded with seasonal veggies and are lightly dressed. The pizzas have a chewy, flavorful crust and don't leave you with that gut bomb feeling. This place is perfect for post-move-in sustinence, or any time parents come to visit. Or any time at all, really! It was my parents favorite spot to eat in Dayton that was close to campus, and I was always more than willing to eat there. Birthdays, girls nights, splurge nights (for college-budgets)...I loved everything about Dewey's. The service is team based, so anyone that works there will fill up your drink, take your order, bring your food out, etc. Makes for a quick and enjoyable evening or lunch where you never actually need to ask for anything. Gourmet Pizza in a fun hip atmosphere, serves alcohol, etc. We had the wild mushroom pizza - it was excellent. The gourmet salads were great as well. I'd prefer a bit quieter restaurant, but those wanted a cool, hip, happening restaurant will like this place. I am probably getting old. none-the-less, I am definitely a fan and intend to go again. Unique pies! I've eaten pizza all over this great country of ours, and Dewey's offers something truly unique (especially for a chain!). The style of pie features a yeasty, somewhat sweet crust which begs for salty, savory toppings. The Poe, which features sweet roasted garlic and salty olives, as well as goat cheese for bite and tomatoes and parsley is hands-down one of the most balanced pizzas I've ever had the pleasure of eating. When ever I am down in the Oakwood/UD area I love to hit this place. Everything I have had at Dewey's is good. I especially like the "Green Lantern" pizza and their house salad that features roasted pine nuts and goat cheese!!!! YUMMM!!! The restaurant itself is also nice. It's new and spacious. The services is also very good. The staff is courteous and unobtrusive, I always feel well taken care of and never even noticed my water being refilled. Dewey's is great. Fairly good pizza for a chain. Pleasantly chewy crust, lots of options for toppings. I find that the crust can be a bit limp in the centre on larger sizes, but that's expected. Environment can be noisy, especially because it's a single open room. Fairly good beer list with plenty of craft and local beers on tap. Wait times can be long on the weekends. Salads are oversized. Not a bad option if you're trying to stay in the area... but there are locally owned pizza places not far away that serve better food with superior beer selections. read more

Was in town with my son's high school band and needed to find good pizza for 60 people. Even though they couldn't accommodate all of us in house, they were helpful when I called in advance and discussed a to go order. When we arrived to pick up our 18 pizzas they were again very helpful and a group of employees helped to carry the pies to my car. The variety of pizza is great, if you don't eat meat, then you are in luck, just you will have to decide all the different varieties that are not made with meat. I LOVE THIS PLACE. Being a transplant to Ohio, it really is very difficult to find good pizza. The tiny square cut bland pizzas around here are not my thing. I am from the East Coast and the pizza I grew up with is very different. However Dewey's is specialty, unique pizzas and have never disappointed us. And it is regular sliced not teenage tiny squares cuts like they have surrounding Dayton. The calzones are really good too. They have a peppercorn ranch salad that I enjoy as well. The pizza sauce is very good and has a little kick to it. If you want a plain piece of pizza, this is not the place for you but if you want specialty ones, I highly recommend here. I have never had anything here that was not good. We enjoy it. Atmosphere is laid back, friendly staff. Family friendly and a great place to meet and have pizza and beer. It was our first time at Dewey's. Our friends have raved about the place and decided to take us there after a track meet at Welcome Stadium. It did not disappoint! We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waiter was fantastic! The pizza menu was extensive with all fresh ingredients. I love that you can have your pizza made exactly how you want it...white or red sauce, all types of cheese toppings, and the assortment of mushrooms is yummy.
