Dewey's is one of my favorite pizza spots in St. Louis. They do have a pretty substantial wait if you go at peak hours, so I would recommend going as soon as they open for dinner. After you order, the pizza is made fresh and fairly quickly, as well as tasting just so darn good. The cheese is thick and delicious, and the crust is so soft and fluffy, yet has the perfect amount of crispiness I am the outside. I have yet to find pizza crust I like better than Dewey's. I was also very impressed by the service we received the most recent time we went. One of our pizzas came out with an incorrect topping on it, and as soon as it was brought out, the server said that he knew it came out wrong, it was ours to keep, and there was already a replacement pizza with the correct toppings in the oven. A nice little bonus are the large glass windows in the walls of the customer-facing side of the kitchen. Guests (and especially kids) love to watch the pizzas being made, and it makes the wait for a table at peak times go by much more quickly. Dewey's isn't the quietest of pizza joints in St. Louis, but it is definitely some darn good pizza. It's a great place to take a family or some friends, and I would definitely recommend checking it out. read more

Dewey's has some very creative pizzas. The Green Lantern, Socrates Revenge, and Bronx Bomber are among our favorites. Those are the items that keep us coming back. But the true reward is in the seasonal items. The Tito Santana and other limited editions deserve serious consideration every time. Then there's the salads. Peppercorn ranch is a longtime favorite. Dewey's was high up on our list before we had kids. But they really upped their takeout game during the pandemic and now they are a regular in our rotation. Online ordering is a breeze. You can get generous sides of ranch dressing. It's always ready when you get there. It's pricier than the big chains, but about 1,000 times more edible. read more

Surprisingly I've never been to Dewey's but have heard about it for years. They are doing a great job with social distancing inside and it was very clean. Staff was friendly, thanked us for wearing masks. Tables are spaced well, they provide a paper menu and there's a sticker to scan on the table. There is one entrance and one exit. The pizza was very good too, I'm not a fan of the chain pizzas and I like different toppings. I liked that they would split your pizza in half, even with 2 different sauces. Bonus that our view was perfect for watching the kitchen staff spin the crust. read more

We love Dewey's pizza and opted to grab a bit this past weekend. We were lucky enough to grab a table quickly and basically knew what we wanted. Regular Caesar salad and pizza. I love their Caesar salad- it's basic but good. This one did lack some dressing, it was a bit dry, but i dealt with it. My daughter loves a white pizza- olive oil and garlic base with lots of cheese- mozz blend, feta, and ricotta. She asked for extra and certainly got extra (at our expense) her 13" pizza was about 22.00, ugh kids. We order a 17" meatball pizza and added pepperoni and mushrooms. It came out hot and looked great except it lacked cheese. Now we have ordered the meatball pizza here many times- I love meatballs- but I have never had full pizza slices that were missing cheese. My husband was starving and ate a piece or 2 before I noticed how little of the gooey goodness was missing. He flagged the manager over and mentioned our concerns pointing out at least 5 pieces that had no cheese. They used the fresh mozzarella but it was a bit too sparingly. The manager agreed but couldn't take the pizza back and put it in the oven with more cheese. He offered to remake it but I felt like a jerk asking for that. He brought us some cold fresh mozzarella that we could add to it to warm up at home. We accepted that offer but I feel we should have been offered a discount. I don't ask for one but when a 1/4 of your pizza is missing a main ingredient and the solution is to add it yourself I feel like we should have been compensated a bit. Ultimately, we did warm up the pizza with the cheese the next day but my husband ate a piece and said it just wasn't the same. Next time I'll have to add an extra I gradient to our pizza to make sure it actually has cheese on it. read more

Great quality and ingredients! Finally a pizza place that doesn't use provel!!! THANK YOU! And they cut into traditional triangles, no squares!! This is a pizza place that is killing it in take out, there was a 45 minute wait to get a table at 630 on a Friday, so prime time pizza time! This is a served pizza restaurant, so you will pay a bit extra for the ingredients and then with tip, it can get a bit hefty, but it was delish! They have some local beers on tap which is also great, they also serve wine here. I would give 5 stars, but, it was super loud and it feels like you're yelling at your table, and being a busy night so we parked far and walked, which was freezing! Dewey's in Kirkwood has been a happening spot since it first opened. If you don't want to wait, definitely go early. The pizza is excellent and the house salad is so good you won't want to share a large. I wish they still served Guinness, but they welcome a taste to entice you into something new. Reliably good pizza here. Several creative pizzas are offered or of course you could design your own. We enjoyed a porky fig and Socrates revenge with sausage on half. Both were quite tasty but the sausage was a little skimpy. We also got a large salad which I don't recall the name but it was one with grapes in it. Was good but the dressing had a onion flavor that was too strong for me. But that salad was huge! 3 of us ate it. The downside of this place is the bar area is so small that there is almost no good place to wait for table once the few chairs at bar are filled up. But kids of all ages like to watch them toss the pizza dough. Update: got takeout from Dewey's during lockdown. What can I say? Their pizza is balm for the foodie soul. Great place! We went with our three little kids and was sat within 5 minutes. Our servers were kind and accommodating. We had employees checking on us making sure everything tasted good and we had all we needed. There was a slight wait 15-25 minutes, which is typical for a Saturday afternoon at this Kirkwood location. However, if you're left with this dilemma, I highly suggest patiently waiting...it's totally worth it and plenty of coolness to explore in close proximity to pass the time. Jeff was a great server; personable, prompt and accommodating. We started with a glass of delicious red wine proceeded by a delcious fall salad (spring mix greens, figs, boursin cheese and candied pecans) I stuck with my usual Billy Goat while one of my dining guest opted for something a little "meatier". The atmosphere is decent; with a full bar, enclosed view of the pizza kitchen where you'll see the cooks handtossing, spinning and twirling dough and well lit natural lighting from the windows along Kirkwood Road. I worked here for 6 years and am now an unpaid spokesperson for Deweys. They treat their staff like family and use all fresh ingredients. Ryan's inferno, Porky Fig, and Dr Dre are my faves, but you can literally do no wrong with any pizza you order. Or salad. I will forever be obsessed with deweys. Best crust in St. Louis, never mind some of the best crust you'll ever have. Some very tasty original signature pizzas, like The Green Lantern, Porky Fig and Ryan's Inferno. Service is consistently great. Fabulous ambience that's super family-friendly -- one that keeps the TVs to a minimum. In a word, wonderful! So, why only 4 stars? Because there's no way to give them 4.5. I dock them a 1/2 star because I would like to see a couple originals on their menu that don't try so hard to be "original" -- even if they've just a nightly/weekend special. read more

Dewey's pizza is so delicious! I frequent the Kirkwood and Webster locations and they are always amazing. I would recommend making a reservation at both locations. Some of my favorites are the porky fig, Ryan's inferno, and caprice. Their salads are also always fresh. I always get the Caesar and the side is a pretty good portion also. Their pizza is so fresh tasting, the store is always extremely clean, you can see into the prep area. These people know what they're doing!
