Highly recommended service. Our 5 year old dryer quit drying clothes, as it blew a heater element fuse, mainly because of the amount of lint in the house vent, which reduced the outgoing airflow so much that the fuse overloaded. After requesting many dryer duct cleaning quotes, it was very easy to decide who I would hire to do the job. Although they were on the higher end for pricing, they were the only vendor that explained the step by step process, how long the process would take and the price was exact. Hired them to come out and clean out our dryer as our dryer had started taking excessively long to dry clothes. They cleaned it out and our dryer worked like new. A couple months later, we started having the same issue and decided to replace our aging dryer with a new one, thinking that was the only issue. The new dryer was installed and we were still having trouble drying a single load of clothes in under five or six hours. Call DGC services back out and they confirmed that that was way too quick for lint to have built up again to be causing the issue. But, they took a look around and found the issue was with moisture being "locked" inside our duct because the venting on the outside of the house was not installed properly. They were kind enough to fix the issue free of charge on the same day we called! Would highly recommend! read more

We bought a new house last year and I'm fairly certain the dryer vent had never been cleaned since 1976. Ours ran down through the crawl space and had a couple turns before it vents outdoors. No way was I going to be able to clean it out myself. Phone call was returned promptly and scheduled just a couple days later. I decided to have my dryer duct cleaned, for peace of mind, not because of any decreased efficiency of my dryer. In less than 20 minutes, they pulled the dryer, cleaned the duct, reinstalled the dryer and cleaned up. Having removed half of a 5 gallon bucket worth of lint, I have the peace of mind I was after. This is my first review, ever, for any product or service. I felt compelled to write it because the expediency with which they perform the job surprised me positively. The day before, I had my home warranty company service fixing the dryer. The dryer heating element burned out because the blocked vent caused hot air to overheat and burn out the dryer parts (I am happy it did not cause fire). Unfortunately, home warranty companies DO NOT cover dryer vent cleaning, so I Jumped on Yelp and chose the local company with best reviews, which was LB. When I called, no one picked up the line, but, to my surprise, Doug called right back apologizing for missing my call. Even though he was booked, I pleaded that I already took day off and would be great if they could come today. He said his team is nearby and, perhaps, they can fit me in - he would check with his team and get back to me by 10:30am. He called me exactly at 10:30am (a shocker for a contractor to even call back when they promise) and said they will be here in 20 min. The team showed up on time and completed the whole job in 20-30 min. They even asked me if I found them on Yelp, because I would get $10 off. From now on, I am their permanent customer! The only reason for not giving them 5 stars is because there were couple of small pieces of lint they left behind, which could have been easily vacuumed up, which I expect for a 5-star rating (advice to Dough to let them carry a small hand vac since the shop vac they use is too bulky for a small job). read more

Updated Review: Turns out they disconnected the dryer hose under the house and left it that way. I called four days ago and so far no call back. I requested the owner come and hook the vent back up. My dryer was taking too long to dry clothes. I thought I needed a new one, but after my appliance repairman, Scott, with Superior Appliance checked it out, he said I had a venting problem. It was still heating, but stayed moist. He cleaned out a lot of lint, but said he didn't feel air from the vent outside. He said to observe the dryer and see if the time improves considerably. It did, but since we haven't had the dryer vent cleaned since we bought this old house in 1997, we thought it was high time anyway. I called Doug and made an appointment. I was nervous about the rain today, but there was a break in the weather when his crew, Fred and Mary, arrived, so it worked out. I initially hesitated calling because I assumed they only serviced the Tri Valley area, but they came to Castro Valley. Mary and Fred were kind, funny, and quirky. They did a thorough job. I always research jobs to be done at home, and I thought perhaps I could tackle this one myself. But after considering that I need to buy a vent cleaning kit, a bigger and stronger shop vac, and have the skill to clean a vent ( I mean you can watch all the YouTube videos all day long and still won't get it), I thought, forget it. Hire a professional. I'm glad we did. If I didn't know what it was, the lint Fred removed from the outside vent looked like a wet, dead cat; it was that much. I assumed "Gutter Cleaning " meant removal of debris's and follow thru with flushing of all down spouts. So long story short, my dryer wasn't heating up and was getting old, so I bought a new dryer, which also didn't heat up. I had the sears people come out and check the new dryer which it was not the dryer but the dryer vent that was clogged. We like to use local people to help them out so I found lint bandits on yelp, made a next day appointment, and was completely satisfied with the results. The two men, Fred and Alex, showed up 10 min early,were clean and professional, worked on the super major clog, had to climb a steep ladder to get on our town house roof that is four stories high, and they never once complained. Unfortunately though, you damaged our wood floors, our NEW wood floors when the dryer was moved to access the venting. Being more conscientious of others property is a sign of respect, and would have shown a higher level of customer care. Disappointing, BUT, the dryer works! The price for the service was not listed on the web site. However, on the web site, I was directed to yelp for a coupon which caused confusion re: the total price. I paid $10 for $20 service, so assumed that was the cost. After job was done I was handed a bill for $180. I negotiated a cost of $150 but that was on top of the $10 I paid on Yelp.I should have checked the pricing before committing to service and recommend that you do so before scheduling. Less than a quart of lint was removed from my vent, so don't think it was worth $160. read more

Pigeons are a serious health hazard and can do real damage to your house. At our prior residence we had serious pigeon problems and we spent a large sum of money to clean and pigeon proof (largely thru use of hot foot glue) . After we moved we initially were glad that the design of the house made it less prone to pigeon problems ;however, after installation of solar panels they found a place to live. Doug came out and offered a custom application and the pigeons disappeared quickly before any real damage. What impressed me most was not just his thoughtful custom installation, but when he ran into problems he didn't charge me more as he stuck with his original estimate and followed thru to get it done right. read more
