The owner, Giovanni, is absolutely fantastic. He is responsive to both email, phone and text, shows up when he says he will and does great honest work. The pervious company I engaged with told me not to get a permit and that my life would be easier, that company had also installed my heating unit several years back. Well, fast forward today and I just didn't feel comfortable not using a permit, mostly because of a nosy neighbor. I called Global Heating because I noticed the great reviews on Yelp to explain to Giovanni my situation. He gave me a price range over the phone for the job done right (I sent him some pictures/measurements), with permits everything included and it was around the same price as the other guys (who were clearly taking advantage of me!). When Giovanni showed up, he noticed the heater they put in several years ago was installed incorrectly, he would need to make some changes and bring it up to code... Well guess what, he did not change his price that he gave me on the phone, not even by $1. Great guy, great company, and most importantly someone you can trust. I called Payless Heating & Cooling and spoke to John. He was able to come by today 1/20/25 to look at my wall heater. Able to come sooner than expected which was great. After John assessed the heater, he let me know that it was just the thermostat that needed to be replaced. He also did tell me originally when I spoke to him on the phone that it would be a $49 charge and if he needed to do work, they would waive that piece. In this case, he did recommend that I could just go to Home Depot to get a thermostat that didn't need to be really expensive. John was very honest and letting me know that and at this time I did not need to replace the wall heater. I did let him know. I appreciated his honesty as well as his kindness. Our furnace was igniting but then shutting off immediately. It would then re-recycle and ignite again, only to shut off. We weren't getting any warm air through our ducts. I called John early in the morning, and he responded immediately. Even though they were really busy, he managed to fit us in that same day. About 45 minutes after I connected with him, Joey, one of his technicians, arrived at my home. He troubleshot the furnace in 30 seconds. I was worried it was going to be a costly repair and one that would require ordering parts, making the project drag on over the next several days. Joey sanded down some corrosion on a temperature sensor and confidently reassembled the furnace. He turned it on, and it works perfectly now. Total charge for the repair was just the service charge of $49. I have had this outfit to my home several times because they are trustworthy and excellent. He showed knowledge and experience with our situation- He explained to me that due to a dirt filter, my pressure was high... after replacing the filter our system went to normal... I hired John to do a routine inspection and maintenance on my central HVAC system. The system was working fine, but I wanted it checked out in advance of the summer just in case. He answered the phone when I called, came when he was expected, communicated clearly, and the cost was what was communicated in advance. Our air conditioner stopped working on a Friday evening at 5pm on a day when it was 95 degrees outside going into a hot weekend. We called many places and couldn't reach anyone or others said they were not available until next week. Then we called Payless Heating and Cooling and Giovanni picked up. He wasn't available for a few days but he understood it was an urgent situation and debugged the issue with us over the phone - he said it was 85% likelihood that the capacitor went out on the A/C unit. He said where we can buy one and that he would walk us through the install. You know how it happens: right before a heatwave is about to hit your AC goes out. Local competition was booked two weeks out but these guys were able to come out the next day. Courteous, knowledgeable and punctual. Even though the reason for repairs was entirely self inflicted (dirty filter) they were respectful and accommodating. What really stood out to me is he called ahead and went through basic troubleshooting steps to check if it was a simple issue (clogged filter etc...) to save me the diagnostics fee. After an open design remodel of our home, we were disappointed that the existing cold air return location now in proximity to our TV viewing area was intrusively loud. We called a number of HVAC companies to see if we could find a solution. Some wanted $160 just to come out and look at the job, others did not return calls. We called Global Heating and Cooling and talked with John. After explaining the situation he came out to see if there was a way to re-route the cold air duct so that the intake was away from the main room.  He suggested that he could route the duct though the garage and under the stairs. This required collaboration with the contractor who did our remodel to open the wall in the garage and provide a pathway under the stairs to a down stairs hall.  My contractor and John's tech, Abraham, completed the reroute project in about 5 hours and the result is awesome.
