100/10 I AM ONE OF DUN HUANG'S BIGGEST FAN. I apologize for the late review but please know I continue to enjoy the food in this chain every time I visit! For context (see my Rowland Heights DH review) I've been a fan of this chain since years ago & when I was living in CA I would eat at their Dun Huang every week. I've introduced family & friends to that place. I've had solo dates, friend dates, crying nights there. The night before moving to Texas I ate there. When I arrived in Texas in 2023 I was devastated when I learned there was no DH restaurant! So when DH Plano opened I was SO elated. I brought my then-boyfriend here and he too fell in love with the food! Unfortunately I live an hour away from Plano but the drive is SO worth it. No other restaurant beats DH's Lanzhou Beef noodles. It's too good. You can control the spice levels and noodle thickness. The broth is INSANE I personally enjoy ordering the spicy Lanzhou Beef or Mutton noodles in soup.

The scallion beef roll was decent but nothing to ride home about. Good service and food is fresh. They even have their own homemade yogurt which was nice.

I was super excited to hear about the halal options being offered here although I do wish they offered the halal Crescent Chicken more often. Nonetheless, authentic hand-pulled noodle options aren't exactly a dime a dozen and despite the cramped interior a visit is usually well worth it. Staff are very friendly albeit there is complications from a language barrier, and on busier nights expect a wait with just about everything from the time you walk in. It's not bad service but it could be better.

What original attracted was their Beef Noodle Soup which was a bit of a let down flavor wise, but over a few visits I discovered how good their Crispy Beef Rolls and Spicy Cumin Lamb Ribs are. There's some other greats like their...

We split the spicy lamb ribs, one soup noodle (the mutton with triangle noodles) and one dry noodle (the oil pour with wide noodles). The wide noodles were just okay, not chewy enough for me, but triangle noodles were pretty great....

Mutton soup had an excellent flavor and there was a ton of garlic in the oil pour noodles, which I enjoyed. Lamb ribs had excellent flavor but I am a little sad they charge $2 for a small bowl of rice for a dish that seems like it should come with a complementary bowl of it. I also got the house yogurt which was thick and creamy and not too sweet, just the way I like it. Definitely interested in coming back to try some other things on the menu in the future!

This place has amazing hand pulled noodles! We liked everything we got here especially the noodle dishes. The scallion beef roll was decent but nothing to ride home about. Good service and food is fresh. They even have their own homemade yogurt which was nice.

We came lunch time to try their Lanzhou beef noodle, it was on special during the month of Feb. We also ordered the beef wrap. The noodles soup was good. The broth had good flavor and came with a few thinly sliced beef. Portion was okay. It was satisfying. Kinda disappointed with the beef wrap, while the flavor was good, it did not satisfy. It was too small and hardly any beef inside. Service was okay. The lady was very nice and efficient.

Great food, great service, and great prices. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and has a really nice atmosphere. As someone who loves Mediterranean food, I was honestly impressed. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Definitely coming back. Highly recommend!

This place is LEGIT! Came here to try the fresh noodles and we were not disappointed. Upon arrival you are able to see the staff in the kitchen pulling the noodles and preparing them to eat. SO COOL. I ordered the No1, which was the signature beef noodle soup (spicy) and let me tell you, I can handle some serious spice and this level of spiciness did not fall short. The entire flavor of the soup was wonderful. MUST TRY. Along with my soup, I ordered house fresh yogurt for my drink (which I wasn't expecting literally a cup of yogurt, but thats what it was and it tasted great) and marinated cucumber as a cold appetizer. Everything tasted great. The place was buzzing. I would highly recommend to try this place out on a cold day (or even a warm one).

Stopped by for lunch with a big group after church this past Sunday and three of us ordered family style with three items. We were able to get seated immediately but it definitely got busy and people were waiting by the time we finished. this place is more like a 3.75 out of 5 stars. DH stands for dun huang, which apparently is a region in western china. We were in the plaza and it was around lunch time and it was between this place and a place across the street.... we were lazy and didn't want to drive across the street so we ended up eating here. We ended up getting the below items: Signature lanzhou beef noodle (non spicy) Dry Noodles with Cumin Chinese Burger with Beef. The chinese burger is definitely not like a typical american style burger. Its simply beef soaked in juice inside a chinese style bun. Nothing else. But it was tasty and the bread that soaked up the beef juice was really good. As for the two noodle dishes, i actually preferred the lanzhou beef noodle, the soup base was really soothing and flavorful. The dry noodles dish was just alright... you had to pay extra if you want to get protein... and even tho its "dry" the sauce it comes with almost made it like a soup noodle. The portions are really big, and i didn't finish my dish. They provide chili oil on each table, and i recommend adding some into your dish to spice things up. Its not too bad. Service was great.

Soooooooo goooooooooood! We both ordered fried noodles, hers were cumin chicken and mine were beef. I got to choose wide noodles with my dish too. I mean you can taste the freshness and quality in these handmade noodles. And the flavors in the dish were exceptional. If you don't get the marinated cucumbers, you're definitely missing out. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Spicy Lanzhou beef noodle (thick noodles)

Pretty authentic Lanzhou style restaurant! They offer a lot of classics including the handpulled noodles and the lamb ribs. Always great to have more handpulled noodles restaurants around. Flavor was pretty good but the noodles seem to be consistently soft and overcooked everytime we come. It kind of loses the charm of the chewiness of the noodles when they get a little soggy. Outside of that, the mutton on the bone was really tasty and not something you find in places in the US.

Food: I liked that you could choose the width of your hand pulled noodles as I typically like a wider noodle. I got the spicy Lanzhou noodle and it had good flavor, nice portion size. A friend got the dry noodle but it came deep in sauce. Service: They were quick to get our order but the dishes for our table came out one at a time and staggered. So some people had their food for about 10 minutes before the others. Unfortunately they forgot or lost mine so while everyone had their food the waitress came to retake my order and waited again. Space: they did have a window to the kitchen to see the noodles being made so that was nice. Otherwise, the restaurant itself is narrow, we were able to seat 7 but that was with one person at the end sticking into the main walkway, needing to scoot in or stand up for incoming parties.

I tried DH noodle restaurant today after someone posted on Facebook saying it's great, but I was really disappointed. The soup had a strong MSG flavor at first that got saltier towards the end. The beef was overcooked and dry, and it had a weird taste. The noodles didn't taste fresh-made and were too soggy. Compared to other fresh, hand-pulled noodles I've had, this place wasn't as impressive as others have said. The lamb with bread had too much sauce and was overly sweet, with too many bell peppers. The beef rolls were wrapped with green onion pancakes ???? It was too oily. The original beef roll supposed not use the green onion pancakes. The flour is similar like flours tortilla. I'm just sharing my honest opinion. Maybe some people think that if food is too salty, oily, or sweet, it's not worth eating, then stay home. To me, the quality of the food here wasn't as good as others have said. If you don't like my opinion, you can scroll down. I am still feel very thirsty and can't finish my bowl. Time to get tea to get rid of the msg

So glad we found this place - this place has the best noodles I've had! Freshly made noodles for each order and you get to choose size and texture of noodles too. It's nicely decorated and the servers are all super friendly. They are also know for their lamb so def try their lamb shank when here - it's fried and full of flavor! We also enjoyed the scallion pancakes and the beef rolls with their homemade chilli oil. Def ordering other noodles here again so good! Can't wait to be back soon. Also this place is halal .

Pretty good hand pulled noodles, the soup is on the salty side, flavor is good though. The garlic flavor in the soup noodles are very forward. I don't remember the traditional hand pulled noodles in China had a strong garlic flavor. I like garlic, it's just unexpected. Food came fast on weekday lunch. I had been wanting to try this place and I'm glad I did! The lamb ribs are very flavourful and got the perfect crunch but still juicy! The curry beef noodle soup lacked behind a little bit though still pretty good. The hand-pulled noodles and the brothers were great. Beef slices were too tough. Overall good experience. Yum!!! Extremely authentic north western Chinese cuisine. The reason why I visited was for the sichuan style mung bean noodles (川北凉粉). I was surprised that it had the perfect noodle, since a lot of other restaurants make the mung bean noodles too thick and they end up being crumbly / hard instead of bouncy. Here, the noodle texture was perfect and the spice blend was great. Perfect mix of fragrant, oily and spicy - it's oddly refreshing and I will be back just for this dish. I recommend the mutton on the bone (东乡手抓羊肉). Not too gamey and perfectly tender. I also enjoyed the oil spill noodle (油泼面) and Chinese hamburger (孜然羊肉夹馍) with lamb. read more

We had a great experience at DH noodles! We ordered Beef fried noodles and Spicy Lanzhou Beef noodles. The waiter also recommended the beef roll so we tried that as well and it did not disappoint! We have tried beef soup noodles qty of meat is low and I think they should add atleast 2 veggies bcz ithe bowl just has few spring onions and cilantro so we didn't finish our bowl but the meat is all gone bcz of insufficient qty also meat was like totally boiled no taste at all personally.. the other thing is stir fried noodles so we tried cumin lamb noodles I mean it has no taste at all .. Excellent authentic Chinese. We had the Crispy Lamb, Fried Noodles with Cumin, Monsterous Chicken, and Braised Beef Noodles. We each had our favorites but all was cooked perfectly and the spice was delicious. Our server answered all our questions and made great suggestions. The food is sooooo good! We love the noodles and the crispy lamb legs and the ribs. For the noodles, we had lamb with skin noodle soup, and beef soup noodles. They have fresh ingredients (I feel), enough dressing but not overpowering the true taste of the ingredients. I'M WRITING THIS AS SOMEONE WHO USED TO WORK AS A SERVER FOR MANY YEARS. I never write bad reviews, but I can't help myself with this one. Service was absolutely terrible. I've gone a few times, hoping it would get better, but it didn't. It took no time for us to be seated, but a long time for us to be greeted at our table. When servers came over they had no manners, and every time I go, there has been a mistake with my order. I was even shoo'd away when I got up to ask about where my food was (it had not come out yet but the rest of my table had gotten their food). If you are after noodles this place is fine. Big soup portions and they have some grilled items. Service is okay and this location has been several other restaurants. The lamb burger was okay but the bread itself was off. If you want a more varied menu from Zhinjiang province hit up the Turan place two doors down. Turan has some really great lamb dishes. read more

It's in the same plaza as Turan Uyghur Kitchen (literally 2 restaurants over). The restaurant itself has a solid ambiance with maybe 6-8 tables. Place was full when we got there but got a table after about a 15 minute wait. The menu isn't the same as the website. Everything is halal certified and no pork. It's also not your typical Chinese restaurant as the style is Lan Zhou and they specialize in mostly hand-pulled noodle dishes and soups. We ordered the following: Beef Roll, Sliced Beef, Lamb Appetizer, Spicy Langzhou Noodles Beef Soup, Braised Beef Noodles Soup, Cumin Chicken Fried Noodles. The food was great. The portions were generous. 1 noodle soup could easily feed 2-3 people. Between the 2 soups I enjoyed the Braised Beef more. The broth was better and meat was tender. The lanzhou noodles were fine but had too much five spice. Sliced beef was a cold appetizer but went well with the soup. Lamb was super crispy but tasty. The fried noodles was similar to a lo-mein but was solid. The best dish IMO was the beef roll. It was like a sweet roll with tender beef chunks and other spices. Almost like a paratha roll. Overall great experience and would come back if in the area. read more

Apparently there is a note that they will only sell you 1/2 an order for parties of 3 or less. That's somewhat strange and also I've watched them being out only 1/2 an order at a time anyway for a large party. I guess its to spread out the workload of the kitchen and to ensure they have enough time to roast more ducks. Was there a table side carving and a show?
