This place had pretty delicious Chinese cuisine! My bf and I came here for our good friends wedding and was pretty amazed by the wedding decor the venue provided. I enjoyed the menu selection, as the lobster salad was quite a site to see. The house special lobster, as well as their soup and fish selection were also quite tasty. The one thing I would say is that the venue is a bit small for a larger wedding. My friend was able to fit 40 tables for his wedding, however it was somewhat crowded and difficult to see from the back. I would recommend this place for someone thats looking for somewhere all inclusive, as my friends wedding turned out beautiful and picturesque! read more

My husband and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner in the private room in the back. In total we had 50 people in attendance. The menu was great! All of our guests said they enjoyed the food. Plus, the decor and lighting inside was fabulous. We had one restaurant employee in the room at all times making sure everything was going smoothly. I believe his name was Andy and he was great, super helpful and nice. He helped with the projection screen and speakers as we were playing our own music playlist and we had made a slideshow to display during speeches and dinner. Overall, it was a great time and Diamond Seafood Palace exceeded my expectations. Another great plus was that they allow BYOB with zero corkage charge! We brought some wine for each table and guests were able to order beer which was $4 per beer, definitely not horrible. The only con of the night was that I had requested weeks in advance that the menu for the night include the steamed fish dish not the crispy fish dish, however, they brought out the crispy fish dish. Of all the Asian restaurants that I shopped at, this is by far the most elegant and the good was the best. The price is a tiny bit more than the usual but the portion size was great, the services excellent and parking was easy. You get what you pay and it was worth every penny. We had our wedding reception here and they gave great service from the time we booked our date to the end of our reception. All the details were just how we wanted it. The lighting, decorations, table arrangements were perfect. Kevin handled our planning and was very professional, always helpful and patience with us. There were times we would make last minute plans to meet with him and he always made time to meet with us. He was also responsive to our text messages. We didn't have any problems with our contract either. Whatever charges were written on the contract was what we paid. No hidden fees and no extra charges after the night was over. During our reception, the service was terrific. The waiters were nice, attentive, and helpful to all of our guests. No one from our families complained but complimented, which is rare. Our guests also enjoyed the food as well and there were plenty of food for everyone (~230 guests) and leftovers to bring home. What's special about this place is their confetti cannons. We've never been to a reception that shot large amounts of confetti throughout the night during special moments. Great fun and memories. Diamond Seafood Place I was our first venue of choice for our wedding and we were lucky to be able to book them. (They have total of 3 locations now). Venue is absolutely beautiful and spacious. The foods at the dinner reception got raves from everyone! Both our Vietnamese and non Asian guests love the foods. The unique thing about Diamond seafood place versus other venues is that there are bonus packages the venue offer at free charge such as as lighting for the whole venue, lighting for the walk way, stage, monogram, champagne fountain ceremony, fog for your first dance, customize backdrop for your thank you photo, cake, simple center piece if you wish to use them, set up for the sweet table etc...all you have to pay is the food package, everything else is free. These can add up to a few grand when you booked other venue that doesn't offer and you have to pay for separate vendors. We got the pleasure to work with Tony (Thu) for our wedding. He very communicative and responsive to all our calls. He attentive and listens to all our requests and follow through with them. Today's military reunion was probably the most serous and pretty neat. I want to recap the series of events that occurred during today and ONE of the most respected ones I have been here. The Vietanm war veteran get together party was a pretty good and memorable one because since my late grandfather who served in Vietnam, I had to take over to help him out so here is a typical interary of how the day went... 1. Greeting guests--There was 150+ guests that were in attendance at the restaurant and I have to say, the person in charge was 2nd ranked military commander Thuyen. He was the most helpful person in the military. 2. The ceremony was as usual the national anthem of Vietnam and the United States. 3. The food is no doubtful AMAZING! I love it! Their kung pao chicken hits the spot when I'm having rare cravings for Chinese food. They also have good EE Fu noodles that I like to enjoy w the chicken. I did notice that the past time I got the noodles, it didn't taste too fresh but this one time could be overlooked as long as the next times this same dish won't be a failure. It is a nice hole in the wall farther away from the Asian crowds so I don't have to hear a lot of chattering while I'm trying to enjoy my food. Seriously, check it out! read more

Let me start off by saying Tony (The Manager) is a great guy. One of the nicest and soft spoken person I have ever met. Our wedding was a dream come true due to Tony and his staff. They were professional, courtesy and accommodating with our plans, budget and payments. On top of all that, they knew all of our vendors and assisted without flaws. The lay out of this banquet hall was modern and cozy, exactly what my wife was looking for. We had a small wedding of about 200+ guess. Everyone had exception service from the bar to table. They really went out of their way to made sure everything was promptly cater to. What I value the most was Tony's input on schedule, vendors, entertainment and other aspect that I would have never thought of. He truly showed us how knowledgeable he is in this business. I highly recommend anyone who is having a wedding to consult with him ASAP. Guaranty it won't be a waste of time because they are knowledgeable, accommodating and most importance of all he wasn't money hungry like other places we interview. This post was long overdue. This restaurant has always been my favorite. I loved staffs as well as the food. My friend had her wedding here ten years ago, and I knew then that I was going to have my wedding here as well. Anh Kevin was extremely helpful and accommodated. He responded very quickly, which I love. Whatever I need, he would do everything in his ability to make it happens. My wedding reception was wonderful, and the decoration of the restaurant was beautiful. It was more than how I pictured in my mind. I love the food here as well. My sister recently had her wedding here...actually it was last week ! Anyways this place was smaller than I'd expected, but it was very well-decorated. The exterior looks kinda ghetto, but the interior makes up for it. So you would think it's some kind of ghetto wedding reception but it's actually PRETTY NICE. There was a new-age classy-chic feel to it, and the colors actually match each other...unlike other Asian wedding restaurants (they usually throw pink and red and yellow and white together.) Sounds gross huh? The ceiling was the most magnificent part of the restaurant; it was nicely-decorated with drapes The dancefloor was quiet small, and the worst thing about this restaurant was the ventilation | air conditioning. It got HELLLA hot during the wedding...so hot that I couldn't even stuff food down my mouth. Ew. Anyways, the food here is ehhh. It can be better. The lobster with noodles was delicious though. It was very creamy and sweet, and the lobster meat was plentiful. I couldn't help but to suck my fingers every 5 seconds. The sauce was just too good. What else was good? Hmm. the fried shrimp balls were good as well. It was crunchy on the outside, and the meat was tender and juicy and delicious on the inside. Service here was GOOD ! Great place to have lunch! I went here with my mom for lunch because she heard about it on the radio. So we went there to check it out, the first thing i notice when i first walked in was the stage with the fake cake....pretty awesome hahaha, we were greeted by two men and were seated right away, they gave us our menu and brought us water. The lunch menu had a lot of items. There were two pages for the lunch menu, the first page's price range is 5.75 and the second page's price range is 6.50. When you order the lunch menu items they come with rice and the soup of the day. (we got sweet and sour soup yum yum). My mom ordered the clams with ginger and scallions while i ordered the fish with hot and sour sauce. I like the fish a lot because it was very crispy haha and the clams were good as well. The waiters are really nice and they actually come up and ask us how was the food. ALSO you get jello at the end of your meal. This restaurant exceed our expectations, we had our wedding here on May 26th 2013. Chu Hoa and everyone there were great, very helpful, accommodating and didnt try to rip us off. My husband and I didn't get to eat but our families and all the guests agreed the food was good. We were so busy and things were so hectic but the staff took care of everything, from beginning to end. I highly recommend anyone that decide to have their wedding here to pay extra for the luxury package (led light and crystal chandeliers) because it will make a world of different. This review is for the restaurant on a regular night --- not a special event. WARNING: MSG OVERLOAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! (see below for details) My family had my cousin's graduation dinner here last week. We came in on a Thursday night to an empty restaurant, which was not a good sign considering it was dinner time and lots of celebrations/graduations in the area. Our family ordered several dishes, and most dishes were meh. Hot and Sour soup - not bad, but nothing extraordinary Bo Luc Lac (shake beef) was my favorite item with a great savory flavor and tender beef cubes. This was pretty much the only item I enjoyed. Fried tofu - bland Calamari - not very crispy, bland Honey walnut shrimp - skimped on the walnuts, greasy, but nice crunch Everything was fine and dandy until I experienced symptoms resembling that of a panic attack. The onset was sudden and I felt very ill --- cold sweats, nausea, and my body felt weak/tingly/numb. I was terrified and thought I was going to die because I have never felt anything like this. It was truly scary! I remember looking at my cousin and telling her how I felt and that I might need to go to the hospital. She said she felt similar symptoms, but not as extreme. I chugged A LOT of water and the symptoms slowly subsided. The nausea remained so I stopped eating. I later looked it up and apparently, there's a real thing called "Chinese restaurant syndrome." Lol! And it matched my symptoms --- basically it's excessive MSG. Before you brush that off, let me tell you --- I'm not afraid or sensitive to a little MSG...throw it in my pho, sprinkle it on my food, I don't care if it's in moderation. I studied neuroscience in undergrad and I'm aware that there are no concrete studies that shows MSG causes illness --- but the way I felt was just AWFUL and difficult to explain. I also had to make a dash for the toilet when I got home --- and I was not the only person in our group to feel ill from this meal. My mother later told me she was hungry because she stopped eating since she felt sick during the meal.....I informed her I experienced illness too. Please beware! My favorite chinese/vietnamese restaurant still is Seafood Cove! That place is always cracking and it's delicious. I've never felt ill after eating their MSG laden food. Though service was great here (we were the only table....), I don't think I'd ever return. read more

This is definitely the most "azn fabulous" restaurant I've been to. I was here for a wedding, which included: - 3 different streamer/confetti launches - A stage background that changed as the night progressed, thanks to 3 different backdrops/curtains - A champagne tower with dry ice and bright pink "champagne" - A light show, including laser/LED lights that sprinkled little red and green dots everywhere during a Christmas song - A flat screen that projected what was going on onstage ...and don't get me started on the band, which featured a Spanish girl who could sing and speak Vietnamese, and a little 7-year-old boy who sang and played Christmas carols on the keyboard. Oh, and there was food too. My least favorite dish was the scallops, which had this really weird chemical flavor and a rubbery texture. Best dish of the night was the chow mein that came with the lobster -- slightly chewy and studded with sauteed scallions and jalapenos. And the cold plate at the beginning wasn't so bad, either -- it didn't have that weird mayo/maraschino cherry garnish that makes me gag even looking at it. The dessert at the end, a sort of mung bean and taro dessert soup, was pretty good. Service was actually the best I've experienced at a Chinese restaurant. The waiters were fast, responsive and, dare I say...friendly?? I could've sworn I saw a smile or two. After having been to about 50 of these identical Chinese banquet weddings over the past year, it's interesting that the great service -- not the decor, confetti launches or food -- is what I'll remember most about this restaurant. read more

Came here for a wedding and it was just a horrible experience overall. Would not recommend this place to anyone planning a wedding. The layout was horrible, the front area is a clusterf**k for a event like a wedding, there's no area for guests to wait to be seated and not get bumped into other guests trying to check in. They had two too many tables and the tables were so close to each other that if the person behind you sneezed they would pretty much push you against your table. And there was no walk way, once you were seated, you were stuck there for the entire night until you're ready to leave. Waiters were RUDE, they purposely ignored you when you needed to wave them down. Horrible start to the night, one of the waiters was rushing to divide the soup into the smaller bowls for the guests at my table and spilled an open beer on me and all he had to say was "My bad." and walked away without asking if I needed anything to wipe the beer off my suit. Food was tasteless and bland, everything needed soy sauce to go with it. Usually it's pretty hard to mess up the Lobster Noodles dish but some how they succeeded. My guest loved the food and what little I had at the end of the event was cold but still delicious. Kevin is so accommodating and was very flexible with payments and food choices. I attended a wedding reception here recently and I left the venue feeling completely frustrated and upset. Near the end of the night, the staff began clearing tables, including the tables with guests still present. We had left our table unattended with all of our belongings on the table and chairs for a moment to join the bride and groom on the dance floor. When I came back to my seat, I found that our table was completed cleared out and my belongings were missing. I've worked in the wedding industry, so I've worked alongside plenty of catering and restaurant vendors. However, I've never seen a staff so impatient to clear guests' tables BEFORE the very end of the night so that they can clock out quickly and go home. I understand clearing food, plates, and dishes, but they also removed the linens and Lazy Susans immediately even while guests were still occupying the tables. When I notified a staff member that my belongings were missing, he just simply said that the person who cleared my table already went home for the night, since they are free to go home after clearing their assigned tables. I asked the staff member if he could find out what happened to my things. All he did was shrug and say, "Sorry?" So, I went to the back of the restaurant to ask if someone else can find out what happened to my stuff. The man I was talking to was not helpful at all. He couldn't do anything for us, so we got into our car and were ready to leave. Suddenly, someone stopped us from leaving because he thought my boyfriend and I were the bride and groom. What? He finally realized that I was the person complaining about my missing items and, again, this guy also said, "Sorry?" I figured that maybe this wasn't the best time for them to sort out the situation since the wedding was still ongoing. I decided that I'd just call them the next day. My boyfriend called the restaurant and asked them if they were able to find my belongings. They said they didn't find anything. My boyfriend told them that it's okay that they threw away my photos with the bride and groom and other things, but it's not okay that they threw away my glasses, which I really need. He asked them if they could perhaps reimburse us or somehow correct their mistake. In response they said, "Are you sure she left her glasses there?" Excuse me? I am 100% sure. And even if I didn't leave them there (which I did), it shouldn't matter because they shouldn't have completely cleared a table that was still being occupied by guests to begin with. I gave them plenty of chances to resolve the situation before I decided to write this review. They lacked professionalism, customer service, and the ability to handle conflicts. I was very disappointed in their poor management and work ethics. As a result, I will not be recommending this venue to any of my family, friends, clients, or colleagues in the wedding industry. read more

Hello Yelpers! I recently had my wedding reception here and it exceeded my expectations x10 and beyond. This review is from when I booked the date to the wedding day. They couldn't have been nicer, more helpful, and more generous. 1st meeting: 1) Discussing the date of the wedding was easy, but we're easy. We reserved a date close to when we wanted it to be. Done. 2) We discussed the food package (9 course meal), decor, flowers, center pieces, etc. Finalizing the details would be done two weeks before the wedding. 3) At the end we gave our 1st deposit. Done. 2nd meeting: 1) We gave our 2nd deposit. Done. 3rd meeting: 1) Two weeks before the wedding we confirmed the food package, center pieces, flowers, decor, ceremonies, etc. 2) We finalized that we would be bringing alcohol ourselves without a corkage fee. We brought beer and liquor. 3) We told them we would have our own MC and DJ. They would provide a table for the DJ and a microphone and speaker for the MC. 4) They would write our names in light and shine it on the dance floor. 5) We told them we would provide our own desserts and cakes. They provided a beautiful dessert table. 6) They would provide a champagne ceremony and complimentary cider for toasting. 7) We gave our 3rd deposit. The rest would be paid on the day of the wedding. Day of the wedding: 1) The entire restaurant was 90% decorated. My wife and her friends decorated the last 10% with their DIY accessories as finishing touches. It was beautiful. 2) All staff were attentive, helpful, and easily adjusted to any changes we made during the wedding. 3) The staff was fast and efficient. 4) They handed out free appetizers and added additional soda to the tables, which we didn't expect! 5) Fresh flowers were provided at the entrance of the restaurant for photos and the sweetheart table/chair were setup at the front of the dining room beautifully. 6) A/C was comfortable. 7) We added @Tbaarbp (https://www.yelp.com/biz/tbaar-buena-park-3?osq=TBaar) as a vendor that day and the restaurant quickly provided us a table and a space. Everyone loved their milk tea. 8) The staff assisted with setting up the alcohol and provided water and punch. 9) The 9 course meal was delicious. My hubby and I just recently had our wedding reception here on 11/11/2017. The manager, Kevin is great to work with! Not only is he flexible, but also accommodating to any changes that I requested, given that we were also patient, flexible, and understanding as well (due to his busy schedule). I came here for my friend's wedding and each dish had its own special flavor that are superior to the dishes at other restaurants I've been to, especially the House Special Lobster, Peking Duck, and Baked Sea bass with Spicy Garlic Sauce. I asked the server if the restaurant could take reservation for my upcoming graduation party, they said they have a private room that could fit up to 100 people, with karaoke included. I thought it was weird to have a wedding venue in a strip mall. The food was fantastic. We started with an 8 course cold apps - the seaweed salad was great. We were served shark fin soup, whole lobster with noodles, peking duck with bun, fried fish, shrimp balls, fried rice and finally for dessert - tapioca with taro. Every dish that came out was more delicious than the next. The service was great. The staff was attentive and they answered questions. The service was quite surprising for a Chinese restaurant. We chose Diamond Seafood for our wedding reception venue for all the amenities they provide! Their packages are a little more pricey than other venues we visited, but it was well worth the price. Spacious, elegant, and wonderful customer service! My husband and I was planning our own wedding, so we had a lot of questions. Anh Phong treated us with such respect and sincerity. He made the process of booking the venue to the day of very simple and followed up with us through every step. Food tasting was delicious! We had the whole course meal all to ourselves. We of course had to bring most of them home because we were stuffed to the brim and couldn't give up on any of the dishes. When it was time for us to do the half payment and venue finalization, Tony threw in special add-ons to us, on the house! We are very thankful for their hospitality to make our special day extra special! All our guests loved the food and had a great time. From originally planning to have only 15 tables to 29 tables, Diamond Seafood made it happen with plenty of space still to walk around to our guests. Came to a wedding here and definitely not impressed ... Plates weren't clean and my cup had a lipstick stain on it. Food was pretty tasteless especially the house special lobster with noodles. Ive never had lobster wrong me before :/ was excited when it came out too. As for the service , terrible! It was so hard to catch anyone's attention and I felt like I was ignored. Took me a while to get an extra pair of chopsticks because I dropped mine on the floor.. Bathrooms were dirty. You would think someone would come in and clean them... Overall bad experience but alcohol did save the night. It's in the same plaza as sam's club. read more

Some good dishes, some bad dishes. Came here Sunday for a bday lunch with my dad and SO. It's been a while since I've had Chinese Vietnamese seafood and I wanted to eat my favs. What we ordered... -Honey walnut shrimp: would recommend! I found the sauce to be a good consistency and not too mayo-ey or heavy. Don't let it sit around too long though, the crispness is lost very quickly. -Salt pepper squid: delicious! The garlic onion flavoring is great, I love taking a spoonful of that stuff and throwing it on my rice. The squid itself is tender and moist. I really enjoyed this dish. -Clams with ginger: lacked flavor and the sauce consistency is too snot like. I think they use too much cornstarch and water slurry that drowns out the natural flavor of the clams. -free Che dessert: good. I don't like Che though, so I didn't eat it.
