My wife and I had our wedding at Diamond Seafood Palace recently, and we both had a fantastic experience overall. The owners/managers who sat down with us several times throughout the planning process were all very professional and accommodating of our requests. Customer Service: Tony was especially a pleasure to work with. Any time we entered the restaurant, he was always smiling. Every time we had a question or request, he would immediately address it and make sure we were satisfied. Even after our wedding when we went back, Tony always had the same smile and warm/friendly attitude. Every time we complimented the restaurant and service, he would thank us. Decor: The restaurant is already mostly decorated, drapery and up-lighting are already included in the package (further up-lighting would be extra). This restaurant was also recently remodeled, and they are still actively remodeling. This can help cut down a lot of costs. Food: My wife and I did not actually get to eat too much of the food. We received mixed reviews from our guests. All our friends (read: younger people) loved the food, however, the older Chinese/Vietnamese guests were a bit more critical. The lobster noodle dish had high marks from everyone. The food was the only thing that swayed us to give 4 stars instead of 5. Came here for a wedding. It's a nice place for an Asian wedding venue. Located in the plaza with Sam's Club and Alberto's (not CVS one across street.) The place could be a little more spacious cause it was a little hard maneuvering your way between people's chairs (but I understand weddings can be crowded.) There is a hard wood dance floor and then a stage up front in the middle. Bathrooms are nice and clean. Service is good and attentive. Food was good. For our wedding menu we had the traditional Asian Wedding Dishes: 1. Eight Flavors Cold Dishes Was good, they added seaweed salad (I don't know if that's new, but I dig it!) 2. Abalone, Fish Maw with Crab Meat Soup Soup could have been better 3. Stuffed Chicken with Shrimp Paste Interesting Dish. They put shrimp paste (sort of like shrimp meatballs) inside the chicken. The deep fried shrimp chips were good. 4. Sauted Seafood in Potatoe's Net Pretty good. The seafood was good and flavorful. 5. House Special Lobster with Tofu Noodles Lots of meat and flavorful. 6. Peking Duck with the white buns GREAT. Probably my favorite of the night 7. Deep Fried Fillet Fish with Sweet and Sour Sauces Not what I had expected. Looks sort of like filet fish from the McDonalds sandwich.. Breaded on the outside. Was good. 8. Yang-Chow Fried Rice Good. 9. Mixed Fruit Dessert Honey Dew couldn't eat wasn't ripe. This chinese restaurant is located in the plaza between Beach and Lampson cross streets. It is a very spacious venue for any occasion from weddings to high school reunions. High school reunions is what I went here for. Not mine of course. It was very well decorated and had a dance floor and stage for the entertainment. There is a spacious reception area to check in and a good spot to take pictures beforehand at the entrance also. Plenty of tables/chairs. From what I heard, the tables were pretty cheap for family style dinner! I have no complaints! The chinese food was edible and had good quail! Nothing beats like good quail!! read more

I came here for a wedding reception. I like the decor here, and they have a huge LCD screen, which I find useful for wedding slideshows and what not. They also have a nice table set up for appetizers, and the display is very well presented. It reminded me of "Frozen" the movie, so if you have a winter wedding or a white and blue themed wedding, this is very ideal. Onto the food...in one word, I would sum it up as OKAY. There was nothing that stood out about the food, but it was still edible. It wasn't a total waste of eating calories, but it wasn't something worth eating seconds and thirds of calories either. And I was REALLY hungry too. Dang Asian weddings and people showing up late. We didn't eat until 8:15 PM and dishes came out well into 10:30 PM =( -Cold dish: Had hot food as well. There was calamari, cold cuts, honey walnut prawns, and seaweed (the kind you find in poke), all of which were just ok. Edible but not amazing or anything to come back for. -Crab soup. My sister-in-law could not taste the crab, but I believe it to be crap soup. Just ok. -Lobster in XO Sauce: The lobster was easy to remove and the dish itself is HUGE, but the lobster wasn't super amazing. It was very breaded, in fact ,and the noodles were pretty bland. What, no garlic?!? -Abalone dish: I don't know if this was worth evening mentioning. Like I've been saying, just ok. -Fish fillet: This one I probably enjoyed the most. The sauce was pretty good, and it didn't taste like super unhealthy Chinese cuisine. I would have had seconds of these. I didn't because my table ate everything up! -Yang Chow Fried Rice: Just alright. It tasted like it was lacking something. Not sure what. And the shrimp was super salty in this. -Taro bean dessert: Not bad. I liked this, but I wouldn't have eaten more than a cup of it. Overall, nice decor but mediocre food. I wouldn't have my own wedding catered here UNLESS money was really an objective. This place is new. Therefore, it's very clean and nice. You can't see it from the street. Going North from Beach, turn right on Lampson and take immediate right into the shopping mall. A la cart price is rather expensive for Chinese food. However, the banquet menu is worth it, much less expensive than other Chinese restaurants around. The food quality is average at best. Okay, I just had my wedding there and I have to say the food was definitely good. It wasn't phenomenal but it was good! I thought the service was good as well. Mr. Wang was awesome. Nelson, is the final decision maker, I think. They have pretty much everything ready. I like the decor; for an Asian restaurant, it wasn't too tacky. The only reason why I gave them a minus 1 star was because they told us that their karaoke would work and we were under the impression that it would work. Turns out that Karaoke = fail. I would recommend paying for your own system, it would be much better. Otherwise, everything was good. Nelson, Mr. Wang and the team had smiley faces. I came here for my friends wedding and it was beautifully decorated! The venue looked nice and fancy. It would be great for a traditional Vietnamese/Chinese wedding. I just wish this place was a little more bigger though. That way there would be more space for tables, chairs, and a dance floor if there was a huge wedding over 300+ guests. Our team met with the two managers at least twice before the actual event took place this past Sunday. They were very helpful in every possible way to accommodate and they deserve A+ grade. They have an older sound equipment but more than adequate for our needs. Two large projection screens in the main area and one screen near the front door/reception area. I could not get the sound from my laptop to go to their speaker system instead of just the projection TV speaker but their expert worker Andy solved that. There is a smaller area that I believe could handle maybe 80? people that we did not use. There is also a projection screen in that area too. Parking is not an issue at all since the nearby Sam's Club is permanently closed. They have a security guard during the event. Look up where this place is located on the map because even with the GPS you can miss it. Essentially it is located in the strip mall on the SE corner of Beach Blvd. and Lampson Ave. in Garden Grove. The outside of the building is quite plain with a sign that is not prominent and can be missed from the street during daylight hours. It is nearby a Nail Salon and Massage parlor. I missed it on Beach going north off the 22 Fwy and turned right on Lampson and quickly turned right again into the strip mall. Even then, following the GPS, I could not immediately see the restaurant sign until I saw the Sam's Club straight ahead while driving forward then I realize the restaurant was to my right. Once inside the restaurant, all I can say is WOW! Perfect for weddings but we were having it for a big church anniversary banquet. We had over 300 people that still fit in the main area. They have a good size stage which we used and a dance floor (which we did use for our instrument ensemble). Food was great especially if you like seafood. One person at our table was allergic to seafood but he was still full from eating the other food. The Fried rice was great! It had Chinese sausage in it. Lobster with Noodles was serve in abundant amount. Fried fish was good. Rest of the Menu was excellent which included Four Star Cold Dish Asparagus with Crab meat soup appetizer. Main dish also included Peking duck with buns, and Assorted seafood with broccoli. Dessert was a sweet green bean with tapioca. The managers made themselves available the entire time. We had a program before dinner and they asked when they should start serving. Our program went over the time but they patiently waited the food was served hot. The cake we had was so good that some people ate two pieces. It was recommended by the restaurant and the bakery provided free delivery. Everything was great but customer service was tops. They totally upgraded the restaurant the decor for wedding are really nice compared to just 2 yrs ago. Up Lights are nice but food was so so, seemed like portions are a bit on the skimpy side. Dinner was fantastic. I repeat FANTASTIC. Seriously, I have been to many Vietnamese/Chinese seafood places. We had my daughter's 1st Birthday in their private room, and was blown away by the food. The Walnut Shrimp was delish! The lobster and noodles were the best I've had in Westminster. We had Fried Rice, Clams, Egg Rolls, fish over tofu. We had a total of 10 dishes. I'm giving this place 5 stars. I rarely yelp, but thought the ratings didn't do this restaurant justice. I am in love with their Crab Alfredo! OMG! I am very satisfied every time I order this. Other people at our table are busy eating off of my plate! It is that good! I haven't tried their sushi and rolls, which in my opinion, do not look as appetizing as other sushi restaurants or even other items on the menu. I took my husband (his first time) to this restaurant and he said he had a hearty meal. And he really liked the Crab Alfredo! Two weeks ago (2/2/2019) was our wedding party of 6 tables, 10 persons per table at Diamond Seafood Palace #3. The wedding reservation was done by Kevin and later by Tony. The menu for the wedding is $518 + tax + 15% tip, total is $641/table. At the end we gave an additional $40 tip. Our arriving guests came in less than expected, 4 tables with only 8 persons per table, and 2 tables with only 9 persons per table. The food was barely enough for 8 persons per table, and the food was not good as it was advertised. The first dish "Bat Buu Hai San, (special seafood cold plate)" was barily enough for 8 persons. The second dish "The soup Bao Ngu bong ca thit cua ga xe (Abalone, Fish Maws, Chicken & Crab meat)" was terrible, it had very little Bao Ngu bong ca thit cua ga xe, it tastes vey dull like water-soup, taste-less, it only has the flavor without the material. The 3rd dish "Cha Tom Uyen Uong (Special Shrimp Past in Two Styles)" was just 10 small balls of Chao Tom, and 10 of half Cha Gio, it did not has any noodle or "nuoc sot", very dry. The 4th dish "Bao Ngu Hai Sam Nam Dong Co (Stewed Abalone with Sea Cucumber)" was barely enough for 8 persons, it had 10 very small pieces of Bao Ngu, Hai sam and nam dong co was little, and did not taste well. The 5th dish "Tom Hum Xao dac biet (House Special Lobster w/ E-fu noodles)" was terrible, small lobster with lots of shell, not much meat, and did not taste well, looked like the lobster was not fresh, maybe frozen. The E-fu noodles was very little, not enough for 5 persons, and it did not taste well. The 6th dish "Vit Bac Kinh Banh Bao (Peking Duck with steamed Buns)" was barily enough for 8 persons, the Peking duck had lots of fat, not much meat, banh bao was taste-less, no "nuoc sot". The 7th dish "Ca luoi trau sot cay kieu Thai (whole fish with spicy Thai flavor) was very small fish, no meat, just crushed and bones, only enough for 5 persons. The 8th dish "com chien hap la sen" was changed to "1/2 com chien duong chau + XO and 1/2 com ga ca man", but what we got is "1/2 com chien duong chau and 1/2 com ca man" and it barily enough for 8 persons. The last dish was "Che khoai mon bach qua (sweet taro pudding)", it was not good, it was dull, (it would have been tasted better with coconut paste), If each table was filled up with 10 persons, there would have been not enough food for 10 persons per table since the restaurant cooked less than what they were supposed to serve 10 persons/table as in the agreement. The food was also in bad-taste. The total time for eating was less than 1 hour since there were not much food and they served very fast, like they were in hurry to kick us out. They told us they would give one bottle of champagne per table, but they gave only 1 bottle of champagne to the groom and bribe. Luckily, we brought our own champagne and Perrier soda and XO. In general, we felt like we had been cheated by the salesmen "Tony & Kevin", neither of them was present in our wedding party since either of them maybe felt ashamed of their unfair deal with us. If either of them was in the party I would complain and criticize them. Normally I would let go of this deal, but I would like everyone to know how I was disappointed in them since they are misleading. (and since my guests complained with me about the food at the wedding, they were not pleased with the food, and I felt bad and unfair since I paid high price for the food but I did not get the worthy of the food). I strongly do not recommend this restaurant Diamond Seafood Palace to anyone. By the way, we got the center room since there had been a cancelation of a wedding on the same day. Maybe, the other wedding party found out how bad the food is. The restaurant had us to try a dish "com chien duong chau + XO" two months before the wedding, the dish was very good, but it tasted like dirt on our wedding day. read more

This place is awesome... It's decoration is nice, neat and clean. The foods are good. I threw my wedding here 6 years ago and me and my wife were totally happy with their services and their foods. I am a very picky kind of guy regardless of cleanest, service and foods. I have eaten almost all the Chinese restaurants around this area and around Little Saigon area. I think this Diamond Seafood Palace is a great place for Chinese food. I hope they will keep up with a professional service and quality foods. Overall, I have tried many different dishes here and the foods are delicious. I think this palace is mainly for group events, weddings, birthdays and so on... Therefore, I am highly recommended for weddings and group events. The only thing I am concerning about is the MSG... hoping all Chinese foods cut down their MSG a little because it tastes good but MSG is not good for health. When we told the owner he didn't even care and gave us more of an attitude. We asked to take our food home at the end and they did not allow it. What? it's food we payed for !!! My wedding was celebrated on 19-Apr, and it was very successful. My husband and I give this restaurant 5 stars because of the good food and excellent service. My guest like the delicious foods and the beautiful view of this restaurant very much. We were very lucky that we had a chance to work with Diamond excellent staff. Most of the time, we met Mr Hoa. He is very niece, friendly, professional and helpful. He was willing to work harder to help us. Besides, Mr Loc- the restaurant designer also helped us a lot. We love the way he designed the restaurant based on our request. There are a lot of good things to say about the Diamond Seafood palace. We had my wedding reception here and they had great and reliable service. My father-in-law dealt with all the specifics and they never gave him any hassle. They customized the 8 course meal for his specific tastes and we still had leftovers. The restaurant had so much of their own decor (such as lighting, wall fabric, color schemes, and more) that all we needed to setup ourselves were the guest gifts and table centerpieces. It was a bargain since the food and the decor was all part of the package. We could bring in our own soda and alcohol with no corkage fee. They also had a DVD player and computer with USB drive so we could have our own video slideshow in a loop. The back area was great for group photos and the stage was great for our live band and singers. The waiters were very nice and accommodating around the bridal party shuffling for table toasts. We even had our own private changing room near the bathrooms so we could rest. All-in-all, it was a great value for a Vietnamese reception! read more
