Like going to Grandma's. We took our mini poodle to Diane for an overnight to see how he would like it. He loved it. Diane clearly loves dogs. She admitted to letting him sleep with her. Wish I could give this place less than one star. Let me start by saying that I had taken my dog there since 2014 and Diane was good, but in the last year she's become increasingly less attentive and sloppy in her pet care. I recently returned from a two week overseas trip and my dog had a very bad scratch on his cornea. By Diane's own admission she had seen him with this for "four or five days" - (I have this documented in email) When I picked my dog up he was clearly in pain and not even able to open his eye. I am always only an email away and Diane always had my permission to take my dog to the vet even if it's a wasted visit. Because she didn't, the eye got infected and he had no sight for nearly two weeks. It's now been almost a month and the damage was so severe, he's still on antibiotics. The vet said this must have been extremely painful for him. What dog person does this to an animal?? The first thing the vet did was give him a shot for he pain. When I asked Diane about why she waited she became immediately defensive and said my dog was no longer welcome there. This was fine, I would never entrust someone so careless with my dog again. This dog caregiver is burned out. Some weeks prior I caught her shoving dogs in her car, fully impatient and saying: "I wish I didn't have to do this f--g job." I get it. Many people have gotten into jobs they hate, or had a job burn them out. The thing is know when to get out. I would think twice before leaving my dog here. I have pictures of this eye injury which I will try to post with this review. Anyone wishing to see these can contact me privately. EDITED post the response from the caregiver. I feel that a good caregiver would KNOW when a dog was injured. If you've ever had a cornea scratch, you know how painful that can be. She also said that she didn't notice the eye was red, but it was very blood red when I picked him up. She did tell me I could no longer bring my dog there, but I had not asked her for future care. When I confronted her on the eye issue, her response was "your dog is no longer welcome here." I have emails verifying this conversation. Good luck, if you decide to use her. read more

My french bulldog LOVES Diane's Pet Care! She goes everyday for daycare and has also stayed overnight. Diane is an amazing pet care provider. She is attentive and careful, only allowing zero-aggression dogs in her home. Her in-home daycare is kennel-free, safe and fully fenced, lots of places to run around, gorgeous well-maintained front and back yard, lots of shady areas to sniff and play. She even has an air-conditioned are for hot days! Pretty sure you can't beat her prices either, totally reasonable and worth every penny. My Frenchie has separation issues, she doesn't like being alone and just wants belly rubs and love. Diane thinks its cute and makes sure my Frenchie gets the love she desperately craves. Diane is wonderful. Our border collie mix is people-shy and a little neurotic, so finding a place where she's comfortable is so important. Diane was great, she kept us updated when Lola wasn't eating much, and even enticed her to eat with her own dinner! By the end of her first stay, Lola was eating well and having fun -- even sleeping in Diane's bed! Now Lola loves going to Diane's, and we wouldn't trust our special pup with anyone else! Lola gets to play at the beach with other pups and is happy when we pick her up. We're so happy we found Diane's Pet Care! read more

This place is fabulous. The yard is gorgeous and well taken care of. There are other dogs there for my dog to socialize with. I have been taking my dog here for 3 years. My dog is a little neurotic and hides out in the back yard. Diane makes sure all the dogs get along with each other, so my little dog doesn't get bullied. I worry about that at other boarding places where people don't pay as much attention to what the animals are doing. read more

It was a little hard to reach Diane at first, but then she got back to me and was able to take my dog in on late notice. She let me bring my dog over to visit and meet her and the other dogs first. My fiance and I moved to the area a couple months ago. We had never used a day care before, or boarded our dog. Diane was very professional and put all of our worries as ease. She does not kennel the dogs; which made us more comfortable knowing that our dog would not be caged. I am so happy that I found Diane to watch my shepherd mix puppy (Hazel) for 2 days. She is super friendly and great with all dogs. Hazel and I felt very comfortable with her from the moment we met her and I felt that Hazel was lucky to be staying with her. I emailed Diane while I was away to check in (like a crazy dog mom) and she emailed me right back letting me know that Hazel was doing good. It really did feel like I was leaving her with family. We have been using Diane while we are out of town for the last year. I can't recommend her enough. It's more like dog sleep away camp than anything else! They have a great time there with her dogs, with free rein of her fenced front and back yard and house. Our dog Scout who we have had longer is excited every time we drop him off. He loves Diane and her dogs. We recently got a second dog, who is very timid and sometimes scared of other dogs and people at first. We were worried about leaving him for the first time, but he did great with Diane. She is also very fairly priced, and only takes a few other dogs at a time. I am much more comfortable leaving my dogs with her than at a kennel or even cage-free dog sitting facility. read more

My high-maintenance boys love Diane! Neither of them can be crated or go to a "typical" dog daycare or boarding place. They require a home environment, no crates or cages, and the ability to be a part of a safe, small pack. Finding Diane was a true gift to me and to them. One suffers from really bad separation anxiety but he's never had any issue going to Diane. He's also deathly allergic to bees. When we had our meet and greet I went over this with Diane so she knew to keep an eye out. A few weeks ago, in peak summer, she asked me to keep my dogs home for a few days as she'd seen more bees than usual in her yard and wanted to be sure my little guy was safe. Once they finished doing their magical pollination and moved on she gave me the all clear. That was a long two weeks for them because they missed her! We board regularly and 2X weekly use daycare services. Both dogs jump out of the car to get to her house when we arrive. And the "braver" one often sits by the gate when it's time to leave - because he's hoping to stay just a little bit longer! I have the utmost confidence that she has their well being in mind and knowing they are with her allows me to relax when I'm traveling. read more

We were visiting the San Diego Zoo for the day and had our dog with. Last minute found Diane as she is very close to the zoo and it was so perfect! The daycare is at her own cozy home with her two dogs. We were so much happier and comfortable leaving our pup with Diane rather than an overcrowded doggy daycare. We have been taking our 1-year old puppy to Diane's a few days a week for the past 7 months. It has been a great fit for our dog with the cozy home environment with fenced in yards, a small pack of dogs rather than a large group, and regular trips to Fiesta Island for some romping with his doggie buddies. Diane has been very flexible with our ever-changing schedules, and is often able to accommodate last-minute requests from us. We have also used Diane's Pet Care for overnight care when we leave town. It's comforting knowing that Louis is in a safe, familiar environment where he will get plenty of exercise, socialization, and cuddles from someone who knows him well. We never worry about Louis when he's in Diane's care. The only minor inconvenience is that Diane doesn't text, so we call to let her know when we're on our way over to pick up our dog. It's not a huge detractor for us though, especially with how flexible Diane has been. We highly recommend Diane's Pet Care! read more

Diane is so wonderful and loving to our high-energy, border collie mix, Leo. The daycare we had been using for nearly a year downtown unexpectedly closed on us and we were nervous we wouldn't find something else to meet our boy's needs. It was important to my husband and I that Leo was left with someone personable with a passion for dogs. Since he is a puppy still learning the ropes, we also wanted someone who would challenge him with his obedience. The moment we met Diane for the first time, we were immediately welcomed in to her home and felt at ease. The yards are beautiful and a great place for Leo to run and play with the other dogs. The best part is she occasionally takes him on a "field trip" to Fiesta Island. He has struggled with the command "come" and she was sure to make sure he had it mastered before taking him. She sends us emails about how the outing went that day while we're at work, and it always makes us smile knowing that he's having so much fun. Additionally, when we leave town, we love knowing that he is crate-free in a comfortable, home setting getting lots of love and attention. We feel so very fortunate that we've found Diane...she's the best!! read more
