This is the absolute worst location I've ever had to go to. I'm a DoorDasher and they never have anything ready, employees are always talking and joking around. It has been 14 years since I left Rochester, NY and been 14 years since I had a chance to go to DiBella's sub shop. Visiting Buffalo, NY I was shocked they now have locations all over the Northern New York and greater New England area. I was not disappointed by going to this location near Niagara. I always order the same thing, either a meatball sub or the sub with salami, capicola and hot ham. The bread here is divine, the meat used is always top notch, and the care in making the sub is unmatched. Thank you very much for making me remember the great years I had in college almost 2 decades ago. DiBella's subs are SO BOMB, the best you can get in Buffalo. My friend recommended getting the Godfather "grilled" (as opposed to "classic style") on everything baked bread, and it was absolutely amazing! The Godfather consists of a beautiful combination of genoa salami, capicola, and spicy ham. It's very filling, and a large sub is enough for at least two meals for me. But it's so good that I just want to eat it in its entirety in one sitting! Their baked bread is similar to how Wegman's subs are made, they're like 14 inch bagel submarines. Well as much as I love Dibellas subs they've been coming up short a couple of times this past week. First I went in about lunch time and ordered a Dagwood with oil , mayo, honey mustard it was perfect but the employee was dry and stoic so she surprised me with this really perfectly made sandwich. Then a couple of days later I ordered by phone the exact same sandwich and we repeated the toppings so there'd be no mistakes. I was wanting that perfect sandwich again. That day I had very little time so was in a bit of a rush. Well I get the sandwich and it's not the same lacking honey mustard and their oil . So I returned it they gladly made a new one it took a bit of time but the girl in charge was very apologetic which is standard being a manager of an establishment. The sandwich was again perfection so I was happy. Yesterday I brought a guy that was helping me on a job to get a salad from Dibellas well it looked awesome through the cover . But was lacking the requested hot peppers and replaced with sweet peppers . This guy likes hot food so it wasn't something he liked. While he's eating his salad he's noticing the stubs from the romaine lettuce in the salad and not just one but like what was supposed to be tossed in the trash was 30% of his salad. I insisted to him that I'll show it to the manager on site, we'll he didn't have anything to say to me but a smirk not a sorry about that or anything so he's not the typical manager that Dibellas hires , it might have been to that there were several people standing at the counter waiting for food. What I did notice while eating my Dagwood that day there were about 6 Grub hub call ins . So I'm thinking I may become a delivery boy guess life has come full circle in this insane country with the liberal elites these days. Will still be a fan of Dibellas ! read more

I have been to Dibella's many times in the past however this is my first review. If you are looking for a huge sub this is the place to go. You can eat in or take out. The atmosphere is can be somewhat noisy at times, tables are small if you have 4 people with you and it is decorated with old pictures. I usually order the "Godfather" sub and it is and can be used for two meals. It is down right one large sub. All the ingredients are all fresh from the the meats to the veggies. Their rolls are what I really like. You have your choice of fresh baked rolls from Plain, Sesame, Multigrain, or the Everything which are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. These rolls hold up well with all the items that are packed into your sub so you do not have to worry about them falling apart or getting soggy. If you are looking for a large sub this is the place you must visit. They have handicapped parking and easy access to and within the restaurant. read more

Everything of the highest quality and they certainly don't skimp on any of the toppings or extras. I have heard in the past that Dibella's and Wegman's subs are one in the same. I am sure everyone who has a Wegman's sub knows how good their subs are! Dibella's is of the same quality, if not better. What sets this place apart from Wegman's is the Red Osier Hot Roast Beef Sub. It is so good. It's not like a sandwich with gravy poured over it as one may assume. It's really a French Dip sandwich that comes with au jus. Ordered a sub...I forgot how huge these sandwiches are. It was so large that my wife and I cut a half of it in half and ate that for dinner. The next day we ate the other half for lunch. O M G. Can you say HUGE subs? Although I'm a sucker for a sub on a Costanzo's or Luigi's roll, these rolls are in a class, all their own. Plain, sesame, and my favorite..."everything" (think of an everything bagel, turned into a sub roll). The mid-sized sub will last two meals, the large size will STUFF you for twice, easily. The fillings are always fresh and they offer free extras you don't normally get at a deli or pizzeria without an up charge. Prices are....a little higher, but the quality is so worth having it as a treat once in a while. read more

Having done a little research after my last visit it has been discovered that Dibella's originally began in Rochester and was the inspiration for the Wegman's sub shops. It's hard to tell the difference between the two establishments...and this is a great thing. Some of the best and biggest subs you will find in the area. i believe they use the same bread and man of the same meats. There are a few areas where I feel Dibella's excels. One being the everything sub roll, which i guess Wegman's is beginning to adopt. I don't know why more places don't have this type of roll. it's simply Delicious. Always a great compliment to any sub filling. The other distinction is the Hot Roast Beef sandwich. This thing is superb. red osier roast beef, melted cheese and a side of au jeau. Yumm. Rude Manager My friend went here to get a sub without cheese. When they got home, there was a little cheese stuck to it that was probably left on the grill. They calmly took the sub back to the store and asked for one without any, as her dad is severely allergic to it and couldn't eat it. The workers and manager spent quite some time in the back dissecting it and concluded there was none on it (clearly there was a little though). The new sub had already been made, so my friend's mom asked if she could have it, but they wouldn't give it to her. Then she asked if she could have the old one with cheese back so she could eat it, and the manager Briana Wood said she had thrown it out and they would have to pay for a new sub. Thankfully her dad contacted the company and was able to receive 4 small subs, but I would not recommend going to this particular establishment. read more

I ordered online and did curbside pickup. A lot of places say they have curbside pickup but when you get there you sit forever and end up going inside to pickup your food. The curbside service here is super fast and efficient. The bread is the best at any sub shop I have tried. My finicky daughter always just eats the inside of her sandwiches and the dog gets her bread. Well she ate it all today - first time ever! I appreciated the chance to choose from 3 kinds of freshly baked rolls, and the endless list of toppings. Went with the old fashioned and had them add Dibella's famous oil dressing because every other place I like it, but sadly, not here. Too many herbs I think. And the roll had a hard surface, not stale, not crusty, but just very firm and not so easy to bite into. I read that Wegmans based their subs on Dibella's, but personally, I like Wegmans sub better. But I really think it's a personal preference thing, try both and see which wins your taste test! read more

To start, I am from Rochester, and there is unsurprisingly a difference between the two locales. Sadly it is not a good one. Compared to the Rochester establishments they skimped on the meat and toppings considerably, ex, I ordered my usual with hot peppers and I barely saw any in the sub itself, I did taste it though. As DiBellas is my very high benchmark for the perfect sub I will say that that the bread was still stellar and I fully intend to return as the subway on campus is terrible in comparison. I also will try Wegmans subs and see how those compare. read more

Yum. YuM. YUM. YUM. GREAT east coast sub sandwich shops. We have stopped in twice, at different locations in New York. Great experiences both times. Warning: A large is easily shared by two. Or more. Maybe a group share. Depending on your appetite. I estimate 12 - 14 inches of yumminess awaits you in a large! Since we are road tripping, this was perfect for us. The breads are delish. I tried DiBella's subs for the first time this week and really enjoyed it! You can tell they take bread in building the perfect sub from their freshly baked bread to the extensive lust of quality ingredients. I was joined by my dad and my daughter and we ordered small BLT, small Godfather and Kids turkey sub pack. The subs were delicious but huge ( small was about 8-10") and my dad and I would have been satisfied sharing a small. The bread was fresh but a little too firm on top for my liking. I prefer a softer bread when the sandwich is so big. My daughter had an amazing looking chocolate chip cookie in her lunch that we were eyeing. They served diet Dr.Pepper which is rare but is my favourite soft drink. The staff were very friendly. Will be back! read more

This is the worst service I have had in a long time, which is a while due to COVID 19. My boyfriend and I ordered two subs online to be picked up in 28 minutes. We got to the parking lot in time to call to have our order sent out as posted on their window. When we called the order was not ready. After multiple staff came to the car asking what name it's under we received a phone call from the restaurant indicating they did not have the product to make the sub as intended. At this point our order is already paid for and they don't have the stuff to make the sub. At this point it's been 45 minutes and our food was just then getting prepared. We ended up leaving with subs we didn't want and waited an hour. During this time, none of the employees or manager offered anything for such inconvenience. DiBella's on Niagara Falls Blvd in Amherst definitely needs to work on customer service!!! They are so disorganized with orders and have absolutely poor skills with customers and time management!!! The deli meat was slightly salty. Overall, a great sandwich for the price! Given that the entire 14" monstrosity cost a little less than $8.00, one can say that you can certainly get a great deal's worth. If it wasn't for DiBella's, who knew if one would've lasted in Buffalo for those excessive amounts of years? Notes on DiBella's: - A "small" is substantial for a single serving. The "large" should be shared amongst 4 individuals. - Prices = Favorable. 4 sandwich serves for around $8.00 = $2.00 per person. - Extra "additions" (ie: lettuce, tomato, etc) are not frowned upon and should be sought after. Love the subs, get cheesesteak subs often but the consistency is all over the place. Expected, I guess, because they hire mostly kids. Sometimes the meat is a bit too fatty. Most of the time, though...I love this place. One other thing to note. The ordering system although "old-fashioned" is stupid and not the responsibility of the customer. On one occasion I added bacon to a sub, when they first started carrying bacon. I was with coworkers and it was busy. I paid sat down and the manager came over and lectured me "you didn't tell the cashier you had bacon, we will let it slide this time." I apologized and sincerely didn't mean to forget but it was additionally embarrassing. Perhaps they should change the process so there's no margin for error. Then there's the countless times I've ordered multiple subs and sometimes one employee takes all the sub orders or multiple employees will. Sometimes they make you take one number and others multiple. They should also ask if its to go. "Would I like a bag? No, I was planning on eating 6 subs and a container of cookies and a drink here and juggling the leftovers on the way out." Lol. read more

This is basically, a Wegmans sub. Rolls, meats, toppings -- all identical. But, it does have Wegmans beat in a few areas. For starters, they have a medium sized roll. Its in between a half and a whole and its the perfect size. Secondly, the choices are endless. Easily, twice as many choices of your average Wegmans sub shop. I'll be back. read more

First of all I have to say that if you're craving food this is the place to get full, the large size of the subs are so big that you can share it with your friend and you still be so full!! The place looks clean and nice, the restrooms were so clean, which is very important to me. They have 4 or 5 different types of bread that they bake them themselves and you can see the bakery (I have tried all of them and they're all awesome!). They won't charge you for the fillings that you choose even if you want all of them (including onion, tomato, pickles,...). Their cheese steak is just awesome! It reminded me of Philadelphia cheese steak. They also have a Chicken Caeser sub which is really Delicious. By the way, they have recently added kid's menu. The only reason I didn't give them a five star rate was that the waiter brought us the subs by hand and put them on the table! No trays, no plates nothing, it was more like a to go order! There are tons with walnuts available, but the plain are hard to find. Further, the service that I got at this location yesterday was just OK. The employees didn't seem overly happy to be there and there was some initial confusion over who exactly would be filling my order.
