Honestly, the food here is pretty good. just attended a graduation party on a Sunday afternoon when they are not open but will privately cater to a large party (70+). Although a lot of money was spent on this party, as soon as it got close to normal opening hours , the owner/manager got nervous & instead of politely asking us to wrap it up, went up to our table & demanded that "you need to leave". This was around 530pm on a Sunday with no one waiting for a table! If he would have asked us nicely we would left, but the owner/manager was so disrespectful i will never come back . read more

Left here still feeling hungry, and disappointed. I ordered the salmon over angel hair pasta which I was really excited about because the waitress told me it was wild caught salmon, which I've had before at other restaurants and is very delicious. My salmon at this restaurant tasted very fishy amd I couldn't eat it. The waitress asked me if I would order this dish again and I told her no that the salmon taste very fishy. The cost for my dinner was $30, the waitress didn't offer me a fresh dish or to try something else, when she seen i was not eating it, she asked me if I wanted a box and I said no, just take it away. At the end of dinner when she charged me full price for my meal and when I asked to speak to the owner she said "ohh he won't come over here" and when I told him you didn't like your salmon, he responded "fish is fish!!" They ended up taking $15 off my bill but I won't be back just because of the waitress told me what the owners response was, and it was so negative. I just want to go out and have a nice dinner and experience and not have to eat or pay for fishy fish. read more

My first visit was not a good one. Vittorio, the owner, kicked out a couple that was dining there just for giving me a coupon to use. If you're going to promote your business by issuing coupons, be willing to honor them. I ended up not using it because I felt bad for the woman. Not going back. Got there and decided to be seated in the quieter area since the entertainer was starting. Ordered a glass of their house wine and waiting for our house salad. It was obvious it came from a bag. It was lightly (and I mean lightly) drizzled with some balsamic vinaigrette and if it hadn't been for the blue cheese crumbles that we ordered on the side, it would've been barely edible. We ordered lasagna and veal saltimbocca and then we waited and we waited and we waited. Probably about 30 minutes. When it finally came, the veal was very watery and the lasagna was simply slopped on the plate. Both meals tasted ok not terrific. Then we waited and waited and waited for our check. Finally had to get up and go to the hostess station and get it. $75 later we were out of there. It was painful to eat there. read more

This little hidden gem in Hoffman Estates has the best Italian food in the North West suburbs. Everything is made to order so it may take a little bit longer on busy night, but it's so worth it. They have a massive wine selection and amazing desserts. We were treated very well by the staff and even given free shots of Lemoncello. The owner Vittorio is very friendly and came to our table to chat with us. He is an authentic Italian who loves food and people. We really had a good time and are going to visit again. read more

How do you say "fabulous" in Italian?? DiBenedetto. Beautifully decorated interior, awesome atmosphere. Live entertainment on the weekend. Had the Gnocchi Vodka Sauce (perfect with chunks of tomatoes) & Eggplant Parm (friend & I split both). Had a huge take-home box, and only stopped eating because I was so full! the homemade Tiramisu is a must as well. am definitely going back & telling everyone too! My girlfriend and I had dinner here on a Saturday night. We had reservations for 7:30 and we were seated right away. The restaurant was crowded. Our server was attentive and added some humor with her service. My dirty martini (only slightly dirty) was exactly how I like it and was ice cold. My girlfriend had a chicken Speidini special and I had chicken cacciatore. Both were very good but the cacciatore was outstanding! I had it with chicken breast rather than bone in chicken. There were 3 breasts and I brought some home as I could not finish the entire dish. One of the better meals I have had in a long time dining out. I did read where a lot of reviewers got some creamy lemoncello gratis, but we didn't get any. They can make it up to us next time! read more

This restaurant is fantastic! This was my first time dining there and I was very much impressed. The food was authentic and delicious. When Italians, like myself, speak about Italian food we usually compare it to our mother's or grandmother's cooking. This place pulls it off, the food was very much comparable to homemade. The appetizers we ordered were the Bruscetta and Fried Calamari. Both appetizers were perfect. The soup and salad course was very good as well. The Minestrone soup was tasty. You can tell a lot about what is coming in your main course by how the appetizer course and soup and salad courses are. I held out high hopes for our entrees. I was very pleased. Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared and tasty beyond expectation. The Pasta with Vodka Cream Sauce, the Eggplant Parmesan, and The Grilled Calamari were GREAT. I can't wait to go back to try other dishes. Go to this place you will love it. We saved room for dessert. The Tiramisu, Lemoncello Cake, and Creme Brulee were the perfect ending to this beautiful experience. I am so happy we decided to eat here. Our first visit was amazing. This was our second time dinning here. It was a Friday night around 5:30 pm. There was only a few customers in the restaurant. Our server was great and very attentive. When our food come out my Husbands food was good. I ordered Penne Carbonara and was not able to eat it. It had a very bitter taste that just lingered in your mouth. I have never had to send my meals back to the kitchen if I do not like them. My husband talked me into sending it back. The server was very understanding and asked if they could make something else. I asked for another dish to be made. As we waited for another dish to be made the OWNER came charging out of the kitchen to our table. He questioned me as to why I sent the dish back. I explained to him that it did not taste good and I was not able to eat it. He stated that he was not going to take it off the bill that I would have to pay for both dishes. I asked him why he was attacking me for not liking the dish. He stated that there was nothing wrong with the dish. My husband asked for the check and asked him to pack his dish up. We felt very disrespected, uncomfortable and attacked for sending a dish back to the kitchen. The owner stated maybe you should know what you are ordering before you order meals. We payed the check and tipped the server because it was not her fault that the owner was so rude. On the way out of the restaurant the owner was sitting at the bar. I asked the owner to apologize for ruining our one night out without children. He got very upset and started yelling at me. I explained to him that it was poor customer service to treat his guests so rudely. I told him that his staff was amazing and he was a terrible owner for treating his customers the way he did. His respond was get the F___ out of my restaurant and don't come back. I would not recommend this restaurant to any one. read more

Best Italian food I've had. Portion sizes were huge. I was stuffed but wanted to get more bread and keep soaking up the delicious sauce. We've been to Di Benedetto Trattoria before, and we were satisfied. This time was different. It took them 1 hr. and 50 min. to prepare food for 8 people. Bread was offered once. My Merlot was so bad, I had to send it back. My manicotti was tasteless and looked like 2 enchiladas swimming in melted cheese. During the 3 hrs we were there, a singer performed oldies so loudly I couldn't hear people across the table. It was a very unpleasant evening, and I will not be returning. read more

The best of Italy comes to Hoffman Estates! Excellent food and great service. Plus live entertainment on Friday and Saturday night at no extra cost. Difficult to find but worth the effort. Warm bread, perfect, and made in house. Had grilled calamari appetizer, fork tender - delish. Super flavorful pasta fagioli soup or creamy Caesar house salad are included in the price. Entrees: frutti di mare over linguine, delicately flavored - not too spicy, and pork loin stuffed with asparagus, cheese and parma ham over creamy risotto - wonderful. The owner even stopped by the table and asked how everything was. Portions are big. Finally don't forget to try the most remarkable HOMEMADE limoncello. This place is a winner! read more

My beautiful wife and I went here for dinner tonight for the first time. Great atmosphere. A live singer singing Italian brat pack favorites. He was good. We went at 7 and were seated right away. It was about 95% full. Our waiter, German Perez, was very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions and answering our questions. We had the bruschetta which was excellent. My wife had the veal saltimbocca and I had the ciambotta. Both were excellent. Portions are generous. Service was perfect. I've seen other reviews that said the prices were high but I disagree. This is our 5th visit.. all have had consistently excellent service. My wife loves the eggplant parmesian. My favorite is the seafood diavolo, but have also enjoyed the veal and pork dishes. The relaxed atmosphere is ideal for an evening of conversation with family or friends. Each time we have been here the owner has stopped by our table to check on us.
