My hubby and I were excited to try this BBQ place because it smells so good when you drive by, so we went last night. First impression: wow! Busy! Line out the door, so we're thinking it must be really good. Tiny place inside, cafeteria style ordering first, then you pay, and then find a seat or go home with your food...which we were doing to-go anyhow, so glad of that because I don't think there was seating available and besides that it was so smoky from smoking their meats it was getting to me. Nice, easy to read menu & really decent prices. Got up to the counter and the manager was expressing his concerns about running out of chicken and turkey because 2 large groups just came through and took all of their poultry. Ok. Not what we wanted anyhow...hubby got Rib dinner plate and I got 2 meats dinner plate. Decent amount of food, think he got about 6 ribs, 2 sides, and roll. I chose beef brisket and polish sausage...the brisket is chopped up, equals about a cup and like 5 slices of sausage plus the 2 sides and roll. Got home, looks good, smells good.... Ribs--ok, fall of the bone tender with good sauce, then POW! SALTY! Wow, WAY too salty! Brisket--also ok, would rather it was sliced instead of chopped. No BBQ sauce, but HELLO, SALTY! Wow again! Polish Sausage--tasted ok at first, then POW black pepper and salt! The sides were better...Coleslaw, really good. BBQ beans, really good, Fried Onion Tanglers (aka onion ring strings), really good. Mac and Cheese--sucks! Mushy pasta, with Velveeta---little kids probably love it. The rolls are good, and every meal comes with dill pickle slices and onion slice---I guess if you want to put your chopped meat on a bun with those it would be better....but more salt from the pickles! We couldn't finish the meats, they were just WAAAAAAYYYY TOO SALTY for us. Overall, very disappointed. Today, stomach not so happy either. :( We won't go back, but if you LOVE salt, this is your place for BBQ! Personally, in the Beaverton/Aloha area, DUKE'S BBQ is Far better! read more

It is obvious Oregonians living in the burbs have no idea what decent BBQ is. Not that you should even set high expectations for strip mall BBQ in the first place. The CONS... 1. Seeing meat wrapped in saran wrap is unappetizing. 2. Where is the smoke?! Where is the bark!? You can barely taste it. This is supposed to be smoked BBQ! 3. Brisket is supposed to be served SLICED, not in shredded chunks. 4. TINY portions. A pinch of meat doesn't cut it. 5. The sides are pre packaged blandness. 6. Rather have a texas toast than whatever that roll is. Pros? Couldn't think of any. If you want REAL BBQ, there are better options. read more

Great tastes, great value, and they get you the food fast! Staff is usually quite fun and friendly. All of the meats are worth trying. The sausage, not something I typically waste my team on at a BBQ joint is worth trying. The beef brisket is still my favorite. Ordered takeout for my in-laws with a bunch of special requests, and my expectations that everything would be done correctly were not high. Imagine my surprise when we opened the order and all the sauces were on the side, and the extras we asked for were all taken care of. Not only that, but the two young ladies working on a Saturday night were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant smelled amazing when I walked in and I regretted not ordering food for myself. Luckily the in-laws don't eat much, so I got to try the pulled pork, ribs, and baked beans. Next time, the order will be bigger! Give this place a try. read more

My friend and I ordered a Rack of Pork Ribs to share at Dickey's Barbecue Pit, and although the "presentation" wasn't the most artful, the ribs were meaty, smoky, tender, and good. We got twelve separate messy ribs instead of a "rack" as I had expected (but that's OK since good ribs are meant to be eaten and savored. . .not just looked at). One minor issue: I figure as long as they're going to serve us twelve separate pieces, then they should ALL be good pieces (especially if we're paying $24.95 for this), but this was not the case. One of the ribs was an end piece that was a bit burnt and crispy. (Oh well, so we settled for 11 out of 12.) We also shared their "Signature" Westerner Sandwich with a choice of any two meats with cheese. We got Pulled Pork along with Polish Sausage. It was tasty. We had a couple of side items too, barbecue beans and fried okra. These were unremarkable, but I figured they are two customary sides that you gotta have with barbecue stuff. A nice touch here is that everyone gets free ice cream for dessert from a self-serve soft ice cream machine. Well, we drove quite a ways from SE Portland clear out to the outer reaches of Beaverton to try out Dickey's, and, yeah, it was worth the drive. read more

This place was alright. If you've been to Famous Dave's I recommend that place over this place. The ribs were a but salty with a lot of fat on the bone. The bbq sauce was good though. You can't expect too much from a fast food bbq joint. I did enjoy the Western sandwich with turkey breast and pulled pork. They have and ice cream machine and it's free everyday. Not a bad perk. Went to try the new place in town. Used coupon they had for buy one, get one. We ordered two two-meat plates with brisket on both, turkey breast, and chicken breast. Brisket was definitely the favorite. Tender and nicely seasoned. Disappointed that the turkey was a processed loaf....yup...although flavor was good. Here's the sides we got : Baked beans. OK, nothing great. Green beans w/bacon. Almost no flavor...bacon? Where?? Potato casserole. Pretty good. Coleslaw...IDENTICAL to KFC. Disappointing. Daughter had a kids meal with waffle fries, which were very good. Loved the spicy BBQ sauce. Rolls are the doughy barely - cooked variety but taste pretty good. Love the pebble - style ice for soft drinks. Husband stopped in next day for lunch and ordered a chicken Caesar salad...it was 7.95. He was very disappointed....very small, 3 croutons, tiny bit of chicken. He said it should have been 1.95 for what he got. I had been craving fried okra for a long time when a couple of coworkers directed me here. I was definitely not disappointed. The fried okra is made fresh to order so it is absolutely fantastic and I also got some Mac and cheese along with my brisket and everything tasted so fantastic I can hardly contain myself. It wasn't amazing, but it was damn good for fast food BBQ. This location is tiny, I wouldn't plan to eat in if it's anywhere near a meal time. The Brisket was good, the pulled pork was fair, I'm usually not a fan, but it was better then some I've had. The mac and cheese was meh, edible, but plain. The waffle fries were good, made to order, crisp and not greasy. The green beans were not good. The chicken was okay, but not something I'm usually a fan of. The spicy sausage was good, but could have been spicier ( I like mine HOT!) We each got meat plates, they came with a roll and some onions and pickles. Their drink cup is HUGE! The service was fast and friendly, I watched more then one customer be an asshat to the girl at the register but she stayed calm and helpful. Free ice cream for dine in customers. They had three BBQ sauces, none too amazing, but not horrible. The spicy could have been way spicier. I'd go again, especially considering the lack of BBQ places on the Beaverton area. read more

Dickey's does not even deserve one star. I am sure the meat comes in frozen and they just heat it up. The meat was cold and dry, the sandwich bun was so greasy it was hard to pickup, and I was charged for addons I did not get. No one could be serious they liked Dickey's food. read more

I really enjoy this place, when I dine in. Some reason is not as good if you get it To-go. I see this place as the KFC of BBQ. The sides are very similar and the set up is your main meat and choose your sides. Soft serve machine for free cone. I saw a guy making a root beer float. Genius! I docked a star for the bread. It's doughy. It's as if it's over proofed and under baked. The guy is really cool, making service great. It's a nice lunch stop if your don't want the same ol lunch. read more

Honestly, I thought Dickey's was just so-so the first time I tried it but because I'm a big BBQ fan and there are few BBQ options in the area, I decided to give it one more chance. Ever since then, I've been back almost weekly. Both the brisket and pork sandwiches are soo addicting! Along with the sauce... Yum! The food was pretty good but seating is awful. There are only a few tables so if you go during a busy time your pretty much hosed on seating. Also giving out large plastic cups all the time seems excessive. I get doing it for the novelty but seems wasteful. It would be nice to have a disposable or glass option. read more

This place was a great experience. I stopped in because I wanted to try out the new place in town and I had never heard of dickies. The people were great, I loved the service. The food wasn't the best quality but it tasted great. They cut it up right there for you, let you choose your sides and build your whole meal. I'm pretty lazy about leaving reviews but I wanted to get a shout out for Dickey's and their Delivery Buffet. I wasn't sure what to expect, and honestly, maybe had plans to have low expectations. I just knew that it was summer, it was hot, and it was my husband's 40th birthday party and he, the house chef, was going to take the day off, so we were bringing it in! First, I ordered online. Assuming I would need to do the follow up, I let it sit for a few hours then would call to confirm. Before I could, I was called by Jesse to confirm, and to set up the delivery time and expectations. Then, on delivery day, I called again to make sure things were on track. Again it was Jesse, and she was actually in the process of instructing her crew on what to do for this gig. Yay! Food was coming. Michael showed up right on time (6pm on Saturday, a very busy time), 90+ degrees outside, friendly, courteous, and totally tolerant of the chaos that was around him (party already in progress). He confirmed with each aspect whether it was okay or not (eg, are you ready to have me unwrap the foods or do you want to wait? do you want this tea to be refrigerated or, where would you like to place it?). They came with an abundance of serving utensils, eating utensils, napkins, plates, and even Dickey's plastic yellow cups and a huge cup full of lemon wedges for the tea. And food! It was gobbled up and everyone was completely happy with it all. The only room for improvement I would suggest is that the meat-to-sides volume ratio was a bit off. Or, all our friends are voracious carnivores, which is absolutely the case, but more meat would be good. It's good groceries! We will be using the yellow cups, which have a "My name is" block printed on them, again at the next party. Good advertising move, Dickeys :-) Thanks again! read more

It hit us we should eat some Barbeque, but is there any worthy places that feed a big hungry family, so my neice said "yo why not eat at Dickeys bros?" And im like dang thats a great idea , so the ladies went and picked up some bbq pork,beef,Green bean,mac n cheese, bread and after the first bite I was surprised at how good Dickies is, the bbq is delicious along with the side dishes , I must have ate 3lbs of meat and I don't care if I have a heart attack, this place is bomb !! The food was fantastic and the staff is awesome! We visited to discuss catering and the owner took time to sit down and go over all the menu options and we got to taste EVERYTHING! It was all amazing. We had such a hard time picking only the number of items we needed. My personal favorites were the brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, and the potato casserole. I noticed they have a daily deal (different each day of the week) for $8.99 and each one comes with waaaaay more food than I could eat by myself. Crazy price for that much BBQ. I attended my friend's birthday party yesterday and they used Dickey's BBQ Pit catering service. What an awesome tasting meal. I loved their smoked turkey and beef brisket. The meats were truely smoked throughout. It had to have been slowed cooked for a long time to taste so good. The sides were great too especially the Mac & Cheese. I highly recommend. Pretty decent place. Had the pulled pork and brisket plate with mac & cheese and "baked potato casserole. The brisket and pork were good. Plenty of smoke taste and the "original" bbq sauce was pretty good as well. The baked potato casserole essentially was mashed potatoes with cheese and scallions. Not what I was thinking a "casserole" would be, but not terrible either. The mac & cheese was ok. Not really anything to write home about. The prices really are not that bad compared to Russell Street bbq in Portland. The free ice cream is more of a sorbet type ice cream. Not very creamy. I really wish they had corn bread instead of the roll. We weren't impressed with the sweet tea either. It wasn't very sweet and no where as good as McDonald's sweet tea. Alright, I have my doubts about barbecue places here in the Pacific Northwest because I'm from the South, and have a pretty high standard of my charred meats. Dicky's didn't disappoint. I walked in, and the first thing I noticed was the really strange layout of the store, and was pretty thrown off by it, but onward I pushed. I ordered the brisket, mac and cheese, and waffle fries. The meat plates come with a roll, and two sides. I received my meal on a metal tray, which I thought was pretty nifty, and sat down. I tried the brisket, and decided immediately it was some of the best I've had. I even ate the fat, and I usually hate any kind of animal fat. Ever part of the meat was extremely flavorful, and buttery. The mac and cheese was thick and cheesy, and the waffle fries were just the way I like my waffle fries, hot and crispy. There's an added bonus: this place has free soft serve ice cream cones. I know, I know, the mix is probably incredibly cheap as are the cones, but COME ON, I could hardly help myself! There's this innate satisfaction that comes along with having a soft serve cone. Anyway, if you're looking for a hefty meal and some nice meat, this is the place to go! read more

Dickey's is good if you don't know real barbecue, and kind of underwhelming if you do. The pulled pork and brisket were overcooked and under-seasoned, and the ribs were full of gristle and not in a good way. All that combined with the exorbitant pricing makes for fairly bland experience overall. Maybe it was a bad batch that I happened to get, but generally speaking for these prices I expect better. read more
