The barbecue plates we got were very flavorful and tasty . The baked beens were very tasty and had a wonderful zing to them. The potatoes salad though, was partially frozen and difficult to eat. Didn't even thaw by the time we got home... But the staff couldn't read my online order. I ordered 2 of a 2 plate special, meaning 4 meals. When we went to pick up I asked the girl where my other 2 meals were. I showed her the receipt showing 2x the meal. She kept arguing that I got what I ordered and called another girl over. I explained that I was two meals short. Both girls said that I must have ordered wrong. Then they said I made a mistake and only thought I ordered . Finally another woman in charge looked at the receipt and said I was right. She then put together my other two meals. The place was not busy and the young staff couldn't seem to do simple math. CUSTOMER BEWARE DIRTY DINING at Dickies in Brooksville, FL found a small roach remains in the beans. Disgusting dry ribs and pulled pork. Owner making BBQ very rude and using no gloves when cutting and serving the pulled pork. I asked why aren't you wearing gloves? Gave me a menace look and laughed, he thought it was funny. Refused to accept the pulled pork and requested to re-serve the food with gloves. The condiments area looked dirty and needed attention and clean up. Huge violation of restaurant cleanliness and bug in the beans. Called restaurant to complain, and owner hanged up the phone, extremely rude. Will not go there again! Reported to Health Services for violating safe food practices. Customers please beware do not risk getting ill. read more

Place is hit or miss - last 2 meat meal was pretty bad, the pork ribs were gristle and dried out, beef brisket was also very dry.

I'm indifferent about this place. The service was okay. The prices are fair, and they include ice cream after your meal. They also have beer for 1$ The food was really good, however, it would have been better if the food was hot. My meal was lukewarm, except for my okra. Their okra is fantastic, and I would suggest anyone to try it. The ice cream was the best part of the meal, it was super cold and almost icy. It was almost a mix of vanilla ice cream and Italian ice. Outstanding! Stopped in for lunch. We love a good BBQ place and like to try out different BBQ restaurants wherever we travel to. I'd give them more stars if allowed. We were greeted with a welcoming smile from Anthony. As noticeable first timers, he was very patient and explained the menu to us and specials. We ordered the pulled pork with greens, beans and mashed. Food is amazing! Portions were generous. Sauces were so good. The servers and staff are attentive and asked if we needed anything and how is our lunch. The restaurant is clean and plenty of seating. They were very busy and cleaned tables right away. Dickey's definitely needs some work. All sides come in bags that they just open and put in the metal containers on the hot bar. They lack flavor and seasoning. The meat is decent but not a huge portion for the price you're paying. I would skip this place and instead go to better BBQ like Pearls in Micanopy for the same price, bigger portions and much much better flavor! read more

When we inquired about it, we were told that our pulled pork was an old batch and the other serving we observed was a new and fresh batch. Tasty? Good to know this location openly serves. Not the best BBQ not the worst. BBQ is pricey just about anywhere ya go but we paid over $58 after tax for the family pack. The two pounds of pulled pork was not bad at all. Delivery order: If there was an option for zero stars I would have chosen that. Our entire meal was wrong. Items left off every individual order. Ok, I want to start out by saying I have been visiting this Dickey's in Brooksville for the last 5 years. We typically visits at least once a month, after church. Sometimes 2-3 times per months because kids eat free on Sundays. The owner is awesome! Always greets us with a smile, knows my kid like chicken nuggets and okra. Always knows to give him some extra ranch dressing. Always makes us feel at home and welcome. I see some reviews are negative, and sometimes people are off. But let me tell you, this is a great place to go. Great food at a great value, and a great owner who goes above and beyond! read more

We've been visiting Dickey's since they opened in Brooksville and have had consistent, good experiences (about 10 visits). Not sure why I see several comments that are less than positive here. It's located in a corner shop of a Publix shopping plaza. They do not have a large dining area, but it's adequate. Sometimes I prefer to order online, pick it up, and enjoy from the comfort of home. (If I could change one thing, I'd like to see them in a larger establishment.) Otherwise, the food is great (and I usually smoke my own meats). I always purchase more than we need so we can take enough home for a second meal (I recommend the family XL deal). One small thing that stands out is that they have *heated* BBQ sauce on the self serve bar!! The family digs the sweet, but I'm loving the spicy! The service is also good. This Dickey's has never been on par with others. I have eaten at 4 different Dickey's restaurants, while two are out of state, any are better than this one. I have never been impressed like I have at others. The food is quick serve BBQ so exceptions at not really set high when going in, but I do have exceptions none the less. I ordered a baked potato and they asked if I wanted the onion tangles never mentioning it would be 3 bucks till it was time to pay. Now I have order the same potato maybe 6 time from this location and probably an additional 10 to 15 from other locations, and onion tangles were always included. as the last person orders we find out they are out of Potatoes. They also were out of Tea and Ice cream cones and ran out of ice cream. not sure that we will return to this location. read more
