This is about Dickey's BBQ Pit Carson City, NV. THEY ARE AWESOME! They were open until 7:PM, though I ordered online for pick up at 6. When I walked in at 5:55, I saw the girl with the knife cutting my order. I swear her next stop should be Benihana's! The Manager was SUPER polite and very, very accommodating with a last minute substitution. The new kid learning the ropes had a great sense of humor and was eager to help out any way he could. Then I got my meal home. I found that a couple of things had been left out, so I called them. The Manager was beside herself trying to make things right. That crew was polite, professional and efficient; it was a pleasure to buy their food. When my wife and daughter tried the fried okra, they nearly SWOONED! Both of these Ladies were raised in Oklahoma, so impressing them with fried Okra anywhere outside of the Midwest is NOT easy. Dickey's Carson City IMPRESSED THEM !!! I had the best dickeys in SoCal (Yucca Valley) but Reno / Carson city just cant compete. The briscut was dry. Staff was froendly enough. But i aint there to make friends im there to eat. Tea & lemonade was great at the Carson City location but the Reno location tasted fermented. No amount of sugar could save it. read more

Dickey's is a great fast food bbq place! I've been here twice for lunch and I just love it! The first time I came here I tried the brisket sandwich. The brisket is nice and tender with a smokey flavor. My husband had the ribs plate. Although the brisket sandwich was good, I like the ribs much better! They are cooked perfectly and fall right off the bone. The sauce is nice and tangy, just the way I like my BBQ sauce! For sides, we had mac and cheese and waffle fries. Both are really good! I really enjoyed the rolls they have here! So good and buttery! The place isn't too big with just a few tables. The workers here are friendly and attentive. They go by and ask to see how everything was tasting. Great customer service! They even have free soft serve! Overall, I definitely see myself a regular here! read more

What a great lunch. I've had better BBQ elsewhere, but for a chain place I am pleasantly pleased. The coleslaw is identical to KFC (I love their coleslaw). The mashed potatoes - very good with stuff in it and cheese ontop. Had the 2 meat meal. Brisket was tender and tasty (way way way better then the stuff they gave me at Reds the other night). The other meat was ribs....needed no sauce, tender and delicious as served! And who can't pass up the free ice cream cone? That alone is an extra star in my book. read more

Atmosphere - Part of a strip mall. You step in and you lose that feeling with the wood siding old pictures and advertisements. The new Dickey's in the area all feel the same, just different floor plans. Food Appetizer - nope Drinks - A coke from their fountain machine. Nothing special My Main Course - I had the chopped brisket for my 1 meat meal. They have three sauces that you can help yourself to; I went with the spicy one. It was not over powering. The brisket had some nice bark to it, lots of flavor on those pieces. Dessert - They have free soft serve ice cream, I did not have any but my daughter loved hers. Service - Greeted when walked through the door and the employees where on the other side of the restaurant. Asked questions about the kids meals and they were very helpful. Came in pretty late and they still had almost everything available. Oscar was the only one working at the time and he was able to get everything out in a reasonable time. I ordered the picnic pack to-go and added half a pound of pulled pork which was able to feed 3 hungry adults! The quality of the food is good not great but it's what you'd expect from a fast bbq food place. read more

Ordered 2 rib plates online for my birthday... when my husband got there it was 5 minutes before pick up time, it wasn't ready. They ask him several times if his name was Zack & he told them no, his name was Jack. Then someone ask him what kind of sandwich he ordered.. he said he didnt order a sandwich. Then they brought him an invoice to sign for a sandwich... by this time he was very irritated... they filled the 2 walk in orders & once again they ask him what his name was. When he told them they finally filled the order. When he got it home the ribs were barely warm & very dry... some parts of them were so dry you couldn't chew the meat, it was like shoe leather. I ordered two sandwiches, a pulled pork and a sliced brisket, along with a piece of pecan pie from their website. I arrived about 10 minutes early, and the girl preparing the sandwiches was chopping the brisket. I didn't correct it, thinking it wasn't a big deal getting chopped instead of my requested sliced brisket. I was wrong. When I got home, I found the brisket was completely dried out and tough. It probably would have been inedible if sliced. There were also shreads of plastic wrap mixed in with the chopped brisket.The pulled pork was also dry and old. This was easily the worst BBQ I have ever had. Previous trips there were ok, nothing special. Won't be back after this. read more

The best customer service I have ever received, EVER! Door dash made a mistake and delivered the wrong order which was a huge! The dasher said there was nothing he could do due to the pandemic and the order was completed. He said it would be personal time if he corrected this which I can understand and don't blame him for. I called Dickey's and they were already on top of it! They were already on the phone attempting to fix the issue. They personally delivered my order on their personal time and refunded the poor guy with the huge order. The service was great! The wait in line was short and the staff were very friendly. I had placed an order online with Dickey's Barbeque pit. When I arrived to pick up my order I also wanted to order a soda which I did after waiting in line for a very short time. When I got to the pick up counter, the staff had anticipated this while I was in line and started cooking the waffle fries that was included in my order so that they would be freshly cooked when I got them. Very considerate! The staff was really very friendly and efficient in taking orders and collecting payment for them. Overall, I had a fantastic experience with getting my dinner from Dickey's and I highly recommend Dickey's to everyone. I will definitely keep going to Dickey's for all of my BBQ needs. read more

I ordered a two meat platter at lunch. I opted for Brisket and Ribs. With Mac and Fries. The young lady starts by asking sliced or chopped for Brisket. I opted for sliced. She pulls out the brisket and proceeds to murder the brisket by ripping all the bark off of it. She was just dragging the knife over the top and bottom of the brisket then threw it (The removed bark) in the trash. I have no idea why this happened. I have cooked 40 or 50 briskets myself and never once felt the need to skin a brisket after cooking. This must be a west coast thing because in the South where I just moved from, you could go to jail for treating a brisket like that. After I got over the horror of what that poor defenseless brisket went through I got my plate and went to the table. Where we could smell the bathroom or someone had recently crapped themselves. I tried some of the brisket and I could feel the water in my body leaving as I chewed the brisket. It was so dry I think I saw a tumbleweed roll off it on my plate. After that and a drink of tea, I went for the ribs. I was extremely disappointed there as well. They were overcooked to the point of mush. It was like someone boiled them for 8 or 9 hours then threw them in a smoker for 4 more. I expect to get overcooked ribs at restaurants because most people like fall off the bone ribs (FYI That's OVER COOKED). I understand I can be picky about BBQ and I have had Dickey's before (From the Golden Valley store). This was hands down just awful. No smoke flavor hell not much of any flavor from anything except the mac and cheese. Which I suspect is not made from scratch at the store. I am only giving it a 1 star because I can't give it ZERO. I will not be visiting again. Dickey's people please go back east and at least talk to the folks that run Mission BBQ. They make good que and are a rather large chain. read more

Stopped here for dinner recently and it was the worst place ever! Ordered the Rib plate. The ribs were so overcooked they were like old jerky! Couldn't chew them so dry and tough. This Dickey's has the best staff and manager I have ever experienced. I live across the United States and called this store to see if I could get food for my very elder parents who have been in self quarantine for almost two months due too having bad breathing problems and not wanting to get the Covid 19 as it would be a death sentence. It would need to be delivered in Dayton NV. Which is a twenty minute drive from there location in Carson city NV. I was told we don't usually deliver but the young girl told her manager and the manager said I will deliver it my self as she did and it made my elderly parents so happy to just get some great Dickey's bbq. This place has great food when they actually have the food. We ordered food and when we went in to pick it up they informed us that they were out of the brisket. How do you run out of your best selling item at 5:30 in the evening. Even worse the lady at the counter got real snippy when we said you should have told us this before we ordered. The Lady and I have been here three times so far. The food is great and the service is fast. So if you like decent bbq then try them out. Why three stars, you ask? Those go to the sarcastic and borderline angry people that staff this establishment. Today we went in and ordered the usual but were met with hostile and unhelpful service. A prime example was when the Lady ordered a side of mac n' cheese and was literally told "no" by the staff up front who then went back to what he was doing. When asked to repeat himself, the staff didn't answer but someone from the back kitchen yelled "15 minutes!" I won't be that guy that rambles on about things at restaurants that pissed me off, so I'll end this here. Basically, steer clear of this place if you don't want to be met with hostile staff. So everyone has been talking about this place and I have been hesitant because of it's location. Every place that has taken this corner location has opened and failed in the last 5+ years. In fact when this place initially opened my wife and I talked about going but I didn't want to because of that bad luck location. Well it's valentines and my wife asks again that we give it a try so I cave in. When we get there we see a long line to place an order in. Rightfully so because the food is really delicious. I don't know that I would agree the people working the line are slow as they are just busy with the number of people moving through the line itself. I mean from the time we got there to the time we left the line was the same length the whole time. My one major frustration that I have with the place is their rewards punch card. My wife and I usually have lunch together and have come accustomed to the idea that with these stamp cards places use as rewards we get two stamps as we are ordering two meals. Every single place that uses these types of rewards cards seems to follow this idea. However at this place you only get one stamp regardless of the number of meals that are ordered. I am not sure how 8 separate orders are different than 8 combined orders but they feel different. When we asked the cashier lady she said the justification was because it wouldn't be fair if someone came in with a group of 8 other people and they had to give away one free meal because of it. Ok first of all this place couldn't fit a party that large to begin and second of all what is wrong with that idea? The food is great but their rewards program to encourage repeat business kind of sucks which is why I didn't give this place 5 stars. I went to Dickeys in Carson City for the first time yesterday. I ordered the friday special with beans and potato salad to go. Pros: meat was tasty, sauce was good, beans were very good. Cons: the meat was dry, the biscuit was hard and dry, got coleslaw instead of the potato salad I ordered. The place is ok, but nothing special. My boyfriend and I visited this place today. Let me just say that my b/f is from TX and is very particular about his BBQ foods. With that being said... We arrived at the same time a huge church group arrived. Who knew that a restaurant would be that busy on a Sunday at 2:00 in the afternoon? I asked the cashier if they were always that busy and she said, no. It was unusual. So as far as atmosphere goes...it is a cute little restaurant. We both agreed that we would have enjoyed it more if there hadn't been 15 kids running around. Food: according to my b/f, the best BBQ food worth eating in NV. He ordered the pulled pork and brisket with okra and mac and cheese. I ordered the ribs with okra and baked potato casserole. I also liked the food (I'm not as big of a bbq fan as he is) and loved the rolls! Both of us agree that the portion sizes were plentiful. We ordered lunch for 20 employees. We ordered 2 Bbq sauces per meal. The food showed up with everything except barbeque sauce. One of the managers called and spoke to the manager on duty. She apologized and said we could come get it. He said no you need to deliver it and she agreed. 45 minutes later no sauce. Everyone his waiting to eat. Called back again and insisted on Bbq sauce.
