HI-LITES - 3 types BBQ sauce from a self-serve buffet warmer - free refills on sodas, iced & sweet teas - free self-serve vanilla icemilk n wafer cones - cool, clean interior - clean restroom - hours of sophomoric entertainment frim the name alone LO-LITES - water tasted like a sewer to me - nothing too special about the meat - they weighed everything so i wasn't bowled over by the portions or price BRISKET - bland on its own, not especially moist but decent with BBQ SAUCE BBQ SAUCES - sauces were thin, warm, with decent flavor. not extraordinary but good. i don't know bbq types (Carolina vs Texas etc). they seemed like sweet, sweetish, spicyish. FRIED ONION TANGLERS - extremely salty. real light and crispy, but pick up some Vein-O on the way home. your arteries will thank you. mine did. i guess i'd go again to try the ribs or chicken. read more

If your in to cold bbq this is the place to go. The food was good just nor warm enough. The free ice cream made up for the cold rack of ribs I ate. The seating isn't the best. I had never been here but I couldn't wait to try their food. Well, the day I went, I ordered the food to go. That means, that if I order food that needs to be eaten with utensils, I will find them inside the bag. But, no they did not add utensils, or even napkins. That was not good. Also, the BBQ ribs were so dry. I know they bring the food over from wherever they prepare it. But, my god, they could have at least brushed my ribs with a drop of BBQ sauce. The food was amazing and we received so many positive comments about the food and the service. The staff (including the store owner) at the restaurant and during the catering was extremely respectful, professional, friendly, and timely. We ordered their pulled pork sandwich, which was very disappointing. It was very bland. No pickles, no flavor, no good. Their BBQ sauces are ok in flavor, but very runny (like the consistency isn't your normal thick BBQ sauce). I don't think I'll ever be going back. read more

When I saw the prices, I was shocked. When I saw the ribs in plastic wrap I was horrified. The food was dry and tasteless. Eating off a metal tray with plastic knives and forks was not for us. For over $30 it was a joke. There was no BBQ sauce on anything, even though It's called Dickey's Barbecue Pit. We asked and they said the BBQ sauces were by the drinks. There was none. Asked again, and they said they would refill them. What kind of BBQ place has no BBQ sauce available? We ate maybe half our food and got out of 'The Pit.' Never again. read more

ive been here several times since they opened. for the most part its been good. ive been there twice when the meat was clearly overcooked. My biggest pet peeve is the customer service. Greet your customers as they walk in and politely let them know that the line starts to their left as soon as they walk in. The owners needs to train their young employees on greeting and customer service. . Delicious! Pulled pork is #1, then ribs & tri-tip in tie for 2nd. Love potato casserole & Mac-n-chz. Sweet tea is tasty & a must at any true BBQ restaurant. Agree that the line moves WAY too slowly, but it's because they cut & pull our meat by order for freshness. I now ALWAYS call in my order, never wait, and grab a table there. We ordered the XL family meal online and was told to pick it up at 3pm. They must have forgot to check the online order because when we got there it wasn't ready for 20 more minutes. We got home and noticed the BBQ sauce was not inside the bag. This wouldn't have been such a big deal if the pulled pork and brisket wasn't so dry. The bread, sides, and ham were excellent. But I definitely won't be returning to pay $60 for this quality of food. I did contact the manager (Tony) to tell him of these problems and he gave me a "sorry, we will make sure to put the BBQ sauce in the next orders." Too bad that didn't solve my problem! read more

I heard the food was good and had never visited so I decided to stop by on my lunch hour. I walked in at 11:10. There were 5 employees behind the counter and 1 customer. 4 of the employees were working on the 1 customer's large order. I stood behind the customer patiently waiting. Not one of the employees acknowledged my presence but I continued to wait. I briefly spoke with the 1 customer and she said the food was good. So I continued to wait. Not one employee looked up from what they were doing and said anything to me. I truly felt invisible. After 10 minutes, I walked out the door. That was 4 days ago and I have not heard from anyone. 2 days ago I wrote on Roland Dickey's Facebook E-MAIL and still have not heard anything. I really love this place! the pit master here is a great guy with and works well with the staff to run a truly great restaurant. my buddy from church brought me here for the first time and now its our normal hang out. I'm looking forward for Super Bowl weekend so I can order about 14lbs of different meats to have while I enjoy the game with family. Every day the deal of the day is a must as well, i personally love it, i come on average 2 days a week, sometimes more, and it may get crowded but thats a price to pay for great food, along with the all the soft serve you can get here as well. the environment here is great due to the decor, music, even to the table clothes. this place is truly amazing and I plan on coming a lot more. read more

Went there when the place first opened , could not believe how the manager could not be bothered that the line was a long wait and the ordering process was a new concept, for us and the employees, we sat down and half the condiment statin was empty, mangers response, oh well, we are out of knifes and forks. I get home send and email corporate, two days later I get a call, actually a voicemail left by the manger and he mumbled something like, this is so and so from Dickeys, ok bye. Based on the food alone, I would rate this place as 5 stars. Unfortunately the wait time to order and get our food was a little excessive (roughly 30-40 minutes) so I'm taking a star off for that. Definitely not a place to go to if you are in a hurry. That aside though, the food was amazing! The ribs were so tender that the meat was falling off the bone. The brisket almost melted in my mouth. The pulled pork was cooked to perfection. And all of that is nothing compared to the fried okra! That aside was probably the highlight of my week! My mom learned how to cook the stuff in East Texas and I'll admit that I'm spoiled when it comes to it. While I can't say this was at the same level as hers, it was pretty darn close! Over all, the staff was very friendly, the food was amazing, and I'm very happy with the place. I'm glad we decided to go there tonight, and we'll definitely be going again! If you want fast food then go across the street to a place that has golden arches and order a mcrib. The thought that you might actually have to wait a few minutes for fresh bbq. is not a hard concept to grasp.
