Don't order out with them at all! I placed my order for 7:45 showed up at 7:50. There was one person being serviced and two people waiting for their orders when I walked in. The girl behind the counter saw me walk in and did not greet me after one minute the phone rang and she answered it and went in the back. When she came back up to the register she just started folding papers I finally had to tell her I had an order for pick up. She didn't say anything to me she just went to the back and came back out front and finish folding. Another person came in behind me and he too was not greeted and eventually had to say he had an order. The GrubHub driver got his food before me! 5minutes later finally got my food. Ok, so I like this place. I came here and ordered the meat plate. I was unsure of the food but since it's a new place I gave it try. Much to my surprise I was extremely satisfied with the great taste of the food and the portion. The meat was tender and not dried out. The BBQ sauce was great and they had three different flavors to choose from, spicy, sweet, and original. Being a huge fan of BBQ I am happy this is restaurant opened up in Rancho. One point I think is worth making is the price. I visited the restaurant with a coupon and it was was a great deal but without a coupon expect to pay about 13 bucks for a two meat plate with sides. My kids liked the mac and cheese, it was ok to me. The beans were good, not great, and too spicy. The potato casserole was really good as were the rolls. My really picky son loved the green beans. Who knew? Since this is a relatively new restaurant in the east county, it's pretty popular. If you've got a smaller party you probably won't have a problem with seating. That said, it cools down super fast by my standards (you can't take it home or it will be cold even if you live nearby) which i don't like in a "fast casual" type restaurant. I picked up some quarantine barbecue. I personally really really like this place. My wife prefers Barbecue Pit in National City but the meat here at Dickey's has a nice char to it. It was moist, tasted incredible. The fries were fries, not bad, nothing exceptional, really enjoyed the beans. The one gripe, the pecan pie. My husband and I frequent Dickey's. I'm a native Texan and though it isn't the same as Dickey's back home, it's generally alright. I thought this location would improve as time went on but unfortunately I was wrong. My husband and I usually dine in but this evening we decided to avoid the new years eve drunks and simply order in via GrubHub. After about 10 minutes past the expected delivery time, I checked the status of the order online. To my surprise, the status was delivered. I called GrubHub to see what was up. After about 10 minutes on hold the customer service agent stated that Dickey's claimed to have knocked on the door (I was on the couch right by the front door...this never happened), called and texted (phone in hand without a single notification, and emailed (the email was received as I was on the phone with GrubHub). Okay, now worries. We'll get with Dickey's and sort out the misunderstanding. 20 minutes later of GrubHub attempting to contact Dickey's (several unanswered phone calls), they refuse to deliver the food. The fries and the green beans are my favorite side they are so delicious. I really enjoyed the spicy barbecue sauce with my 1/2 rack of ribs. Went last night. Long drive from imperial beach Worth the trip. The Turkey was fantastic. Had the brisket and ribs also. Brisket dryed out quickly but ribs were great. Very tender.
