I thought this place was decent. Chopped beef sandwich was very good on a roasted bun. Sides were tasty, with mustardy potato salad, cole slaw, and creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was cheesy and a little tangy. They had pickle chips and jalapeño slices, but I had to ask for onions. Didn't have the traditional line up of deserts. They had some pecan pie slices in a fridge, but no cobbler.

It's hit or miss here. But the last few times it's gotten better. We ordered to-go since it was getting late. They told us it would take 25 minutes but it only took about 10. We ordered the beef baked potato. It was cooked perfectly- all the way around! We also ordered the jalapeño & cheddar sausage- it's my FAVORITE! But beware, it does have a little kick! BBQ sauce is spicy and delicious!

So excited that they decided to have the baked potatoes. Will definitely come back.

From my experience,…read morebreakfast really stands out--it's fresh, consistent, and served all day, which is such a plus. Lunch and dinner haven't been as enjoyable for me. For example, the dinner special I tried (meatloaf with mashed potatoes and corn) didn't come out as I had hoped--the meatloaf was a little dry, the potatoes were on the cooler side, and the corn just didn't taste quite right. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Steak, which was served hot and had good flavor, but the texture of the steak made me wonder if it might have been frozen beforehand. The sides--green beans, rolls, etc.--also seemed like they could use a little more seasoning and warmth to really shine. What really keeps me coming back, though, is the atmosphere and the staff. The place has such a warm, welcoming vibe, and the team is always kind and friendly, even if service can sometimes take a bit longer. If you're visiting, I'd absolutely recommend going for breakfast--it seems to be where this place truly shines.

Strolled over to Chili's and were met by three people who were barely out of childhood and couldn't care less. The gum-chewing, poorly articulate child seated us. The temperature was also chilly & the music was too loud for conversation, so we left.) Circling around, we came upon Twin Peaks, which neither I nor my husband had previously experienced. PROS: Upon entering, we were met with a reasonable temperature - not hot or cold. Two lovely ladies greeted us in a professional and friendly manner; and we were seated. Our server "Nadailine"(sorry for the spelling) arrived and was just divine, getting printed menus because my phone wasn't reading the QR code, bringing drinks quickly, taking our orders, delivering the food, and making sure everything was good. We started with an order of the Mini Crispy Tacos. Delicious. I ordered the Fish and Chips (seasoned fries), no vinegar; but ketchup please, and a side of Mac and Cheese. A Coke to drink. Everything was excellent. My husband had an Arnold Palmer (three, actually) I call him a heavy drinker. They were replenished quickly in a fresh glass each time. He ordered the Chicken and Shrimp combo, grilled and blackened. It came with some seasoned fries. Honey mustard, cocktail sauce, and ketchup included. Cooked perfectly; and delicious. CON: The only complaint is when the sound was turned up on the TV screens it was WAY TOO LOUD. We did make a request to have it toned down a click or two; and perhaps that happened; but my eardrums still hurt. It would have been sufficient at half the volume. Patrons (and workers) should not have to sacrifice their hearing while trying to enjoy a meal and conversation when watching the game. What started as perfection, missed the mark when the atmospheric noise became unbearable.

And whenever we take a drive like that, we make it our mission to find a highly rated local lunch spot. This one was on the way home and looked promising, so in we went. I will say this for Texas. Onion rings are everywhere here, far more than when I lived in California. I will happily take that as a win, because the heat for about nine months of the year is not my jam. Sadly, the onion rings were not listed as one of the many sides (so we couldn't get them as a side with our meal), but we ordered them as an appetizer ($8.99 I think) with blue cheese dressing. I am not a ranch girlie, and I stand by that choice. The blue cheese had huge chunks in it, which makes me think it might be house made (bonus point!). Now, the rings. I am firmly Team "Battered" Onion Ring over Team "Breaded", and these absolutely delivered on the team battered. They were almost chicken-fried, -- super craggly, crispy, and deeply satisfying. These were the star of the meal, so do yourself a favor and order them - but you need a friend to share them with, its a heavy portion. They also have great lunch specials, most around eleven dollars. I got the pot roast with two sides, refried beans and mashed potatoes with gravy. After indulging in the onion rings, I was not exactly starving, so I ended up with enough leftovers for another full meal. The pot roast was nicely shredded and tender, and the gravy was rich, flavorful, and worth every calorie. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, (he's obviously on a diet!), with fried okra and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was forgettable, but everything else on his plate was solid. Service was friendly and efficient, and this place definitely fills up at lunch, so plan accordingly. A very good roadside stop, and proof that sometimes the best meals happen when you are just out running errands.
