Disappointed with my overall experience in Texas. This is my second visit in just over a month, and once again, the restaurant fell short. After spending $80 on UberEats, I expected them to at least follow the order instructions. I specifically requested half tea/half lemonade since an Arnold Palmer wasn't an option, but I received only sweet tea. I also ordered potato casserole and was instead given mashed potatoes. The ribs were the one highlight--those were actually quite good. Hopefully, their Albuquerque location delivers a better experience. Stopped in for Westerner to go. Told him I wanted pulled pork and regular sausage. He said "regular" and I said yes. Last time I was there I ordered regular and got cheese. I told him I hate the cheese sausage. Guess what? He put cheese sausage on. I only went there cause it is convenient and predictably mediocre. I won't go back. Feel cheated, got a sandwhich I don't want, will eat peanut butter instead. And I tried to call and it goes to voicemail that is full. I live ten miles away. Not going back. read more

For the past several months, our orders from here have been messed up or missing. First it takes forever to have someone answer the phone to order; then this last order we didn't get a sandwich we ordered; no sauce and everything was cold. I don't know who is managing this location, but this has gotten ridiculous. If you are going to charge us these ridiculous prices, then do better! Will never come back to this location. read more

I thought this place was decent. Chopped beef sandwich was very good on a roasted bun. Sides were tasty, with mustardy potato salad, cole slaw, and creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was cheesy and a little tangy. They had pickle chips and jalapeño slices, but I had to ask for onions. Didn't have the traditional line up of deserts. They had some pecan pie slices in a fridge, but no cobbler. read more

When you come here and the owner serves you garbage, you know the place is going downhill. He used to be upbeat and take pride in the food. This is not the case anymore. Meat and veggies are cooked great say 85% of the time. Regular young employees are friendly and help the best of their knowledge and training I believe... Big need to be trained or schooled on cleanliness and hygiene of the store. I think they have time to CLEAN, clean the stainless steel, wood, glass, pans, floors, bathrooms, especially where the condiments are. if they get ut caught up, it will be easy to keep up, that will increase their business like 25%.. It's hit or miss here. But the last few times it's gotten better. We ordered to-go since it was getting late. They told us it would take 25 minutes but it only took about 10. We ordered the beef baked potato. It was cooked perfectly- all the way around! We also ordered the jalapeño & cheddar sausage- it's my FAVORITE! But beware, it does have a little kick! Food was okay. The meat counter worried me when they weren't sure if the brisket had been trimmed and the owner had to step in. Hot links were pretty good. Negatives outweighed the positives though, we know the food is pricy, so not being served ice from a cooler would've been nice. And a working drink machine even better. When told the sweet tea was intact unsweet, sugar was pulled from below the counter in an unopened container then poured into the cold tea. Lastly the bathroom was unclean. Lots of dead and alive crickets on the floor. Would have been worried about bringing my child here due to sanitary concerns. read more

If you're a fan of diarrhea and vomit you'll love this place! Think it's good the first time? Just wait til the second time around. This was some of the best barf I've ever tasted! Smoky, smooth, delicious. The kids they have running the place really know how to chop and slice too. They're a perfect bunch of Kaufman's finest young folks. Living proof that smoking a good brisket doesn't actually require experience. And you can rest assured that you're not getting some cheap, chain bbq knock off. The stuffed potatoes we had were "okay" but the service was sad. Only one kid of the three kids working was attentive. The other two were sitting/laying at a dining table where the girl looked ill. Later I heard her whining about not working her shift and wanting to go home and sleep. The attentive kid was nice and courteous. I felt bad that he was apologizing for all the issues. I bought an unsweet tea to find no unsweet tea made. There was trash everywhere on the floor in the kitchen, which could be seen from the counter. Flies and knats circling our food and with the tea container open up top, I decided to go with a canned drink to keep knats out of my drink. DO NOT BE DECEIVED! This is NOT a real Dickey's. Everything is different. There is bangers and mash on the menu.....REALLY, where are we?! I had the sausage sandwich just like I've had at many other Dickey's. My husband had the sliced "brisket". All have been basically the same, not so in Kaufman. The potato salad is yuk! The sausage was bland and pale, so was the brisket. Two major problems with this location: 1. There is no hint of a smoking pit, no smell of smoke in the place. How on earth do they cook it? The only wood in the place is what is decoratively stacked on the wall. 2. There is no smoke ring and that was the problem with the sausage and brisket, it didn't get smoked which gives it the color and taste. Definitely won't be back. read more

Worst customer service ever!!! Called in an order and picked it up. Got home and the order was wrong they told me to come back (5miles each way) any they would give me the food. I got there and they refused to honor what they told me on the phone. They are always out of something even at 6:30 pm. They are usually out of ribs well tonight they were out of chicken and didn't bother telling the lady in front of me that until she already paid. I can say we will never go to this location again. I've always liked the food at every location I've visited. However this location is awful. I've tried it 3 times. The staff is never friendly but today I felt like I was imposing. I was the only customer and purchased $80+ worth of meat by the pound. Although $8 of that was for 8 buns. Who charges $1 per bun? Then with my 4 pounds of meat I get 4 shot glass sized BBQ sauces. We have tried to support this local restaurant for 3 years now. I have to say NO LONGER! Last night was the final straw. We go in and seriously it's always immature young staff. They all disappear to the back room which is behind the barn doors. The doors are usually open and they are in there playing. Last night they were pushing each other in a grocery cart. My beef was so hard I couldn't eat it. The place was filthy. Tea was sour. Sauce bar was filthy with debris, sauce all over and lids off, out of products on the bar, plastic ware, straws etc. soda products were minimal, out of most. This happens every time we are there ...kids/friends/other employees come in to visit and all go behind the food bar and get what they want. No uniform nor gloves and then they go out the door. Who owns this or manages? Corporate and health department need to close this location. Never more than 1 or 2 customers are there and we have gone at lunch and dinner. read more

STINGY! My fiancée and I ate here. I placed my order first and asked for a two meat plate. My fiancée ordered a one meat plate. We got our sides and paid for our meal. When the food came out my Fiancée had a pile of chopped brisket that was pretty small, my "TWO" meat plate had less meat on it than her one meat plate, it was laughable. The staff is friendly but as far as getting your money's worth I would not recommend this place. For 13 dollars a plate you might as well save your money and go to Soulman's or any other joint where the portions are actually reasonable. The staff is courteous and the place is very clean and inviting, but when it comes to the food I gave it one star. The food was dry and even the sweetest sauce I chose could not mask the amount of dry salty rub that was used on both the brisket and the ribs. I went there once and never again. read more

Dickey's is always my favorite place to get barbecue! Whether with family, friends or coworkers, I always enjoy coming to the location in Kaufman, TX. I find the customer service experience to be excellent! Today we had lunch delivered to our school where I work and as always the experience was amazing!!! Their baked potato with brisket is the best I have ever had!! Everyone at this location is super friendly and they make you feel welcomed. The food is always fresh and delicious! I will definitely continue to visit and recommend this location to anyone who enjoys splendid barbecue and an impressive staff. read more
