I brought a friend here to eat, and I was a bit amazed by how the place has declined over the years. It used to be top-notch for local BBQ. When we arrived, the floors were extremely sticky. One of the bathrooms was closed. The ice cream machine was turned around so it couldn't be used. It may have been broken. The two employees who were working did not look happy at all. I'm not sure what was going on, but they were not delighted to see us come in. When we got there, the place had no customers. We ordered our food (sad burnt ends are not an option anymore) with no issues. It was smooth and fast. Unfortunately, the beans were very thick and tasted like they had been cooking for hours. The brisket and sausage were good. The pork ribs had just enough tug and were tasty. The BBQ sauces in the heated pans were very thick, as if they had been cooking for a long time. Overall, I was disappointed by the cleanliness of the place, the staff's unfriendliness, and the decline of the restaurant since I last ate there. The Hardin Valley location was Horrible ! I placed a pick up order on line that my husband picked up. They left out the large order of green beans. The mashed potatoes and gravy were cold, dry and hard like play dough. Chicken wings tasted like left overs heated up. The turkey had a funny texture. There was some positive from our $65.00 order, the fresh cut fries were good with the pickle ranch sauce, the slaw was good and the Mac n cheese was edible. read more

I don't frequent Dickey's, but this hit the spot! My husband and I were hungry after a bike ride...we were both craving a burger, but found Dickey's. My husband had the Brisket Meal Deal Special and I had the 3 Rib Combo (ribs are my go-to at any BBQ joint). Our sides were fried okra, mac & cheese, and the loaded baked potato casserole. The sides were good, but the loaded baked potato casserole wasn't what I expected. It was more of a loaded mashed potato. Annnddd, if you're craving something sweet after all the salty BBQ, they have complimentary ice cream! Yummm...it was a nice addition. The service was a little lacking, but there were only 2 employees working. The food did come out fast. Oh...I also enjoyed listening to the country music as I dined. read more

This location has gone way down hill since it first opened. Fries were not cooked completely, then when they replaced them, they were not cooked all the way either. Also ice cream machine has been broken for at least 2 months. I think this is where I bid adieu to dickies. read more

I don't usually have any issues at this location maybe they were having an off day, but I asked for chopped brisket and I received pulled, I don't eat it because of my own personal preference but my husband called into let them know if I could just get the sandwich remade and a man answered and was asking what was wrong with the sandwhich, I said we asked for chopped not pulled and he said he would not give a refund, which is fine we didn't want one I just wanted the sandwich remade and he just seemed as if he didn't want to do that, again I did not want a refund but I wasn't very fond of the man's attitude, he said we could come in and get the replacement meat but at this point I don't want to go In for it, that's my loss but oh well I gue read more

Meat was room temperature when served, macaroni was so dry it looked like it had been sitting under a warmer for days, ice cream machine was being cleaned over an hour and 15 minutes before closing time. Contacted management and the manager essentially accused me of lying when I said that the meat was not served hot. When I asked for a refund, the manager got extremely defensive and would only offer me a 50% refund. He said that he could not refund my credit card remotely, so I had to come back to the store the next day. When I came in to receive the $24 refund that I was promised, the cashier handed me a $20 bill and said "he told me to give you this." When I asked for the rest of the promised refund, I was told that I had to wait for the manager to come back. Once he returned, he walked past me, grabbed $4 from the register and handed it to me while walking back out without making eye contact or saying a word. I will not be back. read more

Tried to order online the other day and they were out of turkey and chicken and basically said it was my fault I didn't come in earlier. Just came and stood in line for a good 10 minutes. The lady would not even make eye contact and apparently her truck order was more important then helping the guest. The other person working with her also would not look or say a word to us about helping. You should have closed this one down instead of pigeon forge. read more

For the price and what they deliver is enough for a single star alone. Pit BBQ means hints of smoke and savory meat, what you get is equivalent of an oven roasted over cooked bland dish. The Cole slaw was flavorless, the meats bland, lack of the undeniable flavor that you get from a pit bbq alone was very disappointing. I keep trying and they keep failing. I'm finally done. So Dickey's is a Texas staple so I want it to be good but the Hardin Valley location is horrific. If it's more than being slowly served a cold dry meal that you're looking for then get ready to be disappointed. No ice cream, the BBQ sauce was cold. There was some ancient sludge where the tea should have been. The staff were rude, well one of them. The meat was dry and tough and half the soft drinks were unavailable. It felt like they were just waiting around for the county to shut them down so they could go home. I will never return to that location. The owner should be ashamed and it needs to just go under so we can get something in there that is worth it. My son actually said we would have been better off at the paint store next door if we could find an old granola bar behind the counter. And I agreed! Let's just let this place die my friends. We're from Texas. We love Dickies Barbecue. However, today was an underwhelming experience. My mother went to this establishment today around 3:15 PM EST. She was not greeted. The gentleman was on a personal phone call. My mother waited a little while, when she could wait no longer, she asked for him to assist her, his reply was, "wait a minute." She then asked if there was someone else who could help her, the young man said, "I am the only one here." He continued the personal call for a while while counting change as my mother waited. When he finally assisted her, it was a long ordeal. She ordered three brisket meals, of which two were double meat. As for the sides.... One of the double meats she ordered crispy onions & cole slaw. The single meat she asked for a two orders of crispy onions. The other double meat she ordered jalapeño beans & creamy spinach. She requested Texas Toast for all three meals instead of the rolls. When the order was ready, she paid for it and returned home, there were 3 issues: Food quality: - The crispy onions were black as in powdery charcoal black. They did not taste like Dickies crispy onions. - The brisket was dry. Really dry & room temperature. Order Quality: - Instead of cole slaw there was another creamy spinach. - she was overcharged. The total with tax did actually match what was actually ordered. - once the amount was corrected, my mother paid with cash. The only problem with that is that he advised her they have not had one dollar bills for days. Receipt: - she looked for a receipt to do a customer review. However, there was no receipt. read more

We have been to Dickey's multiple times and usually have pretty good experiences. Unfortunately, this will be the last time I go to the Dickey's in Hardin valley. For starters, the meat and the mac n cheese were room temperature. I did not want to send our food back due to the time it had taken to get the food already and the fear of the employees doing something to the food when it is sent back. Also, I usually go to Dickey's for the free soft served ice cream. But with over an hour and 15 minutes to go before closing, while my family was still eating, the employee started to clean the ice cream machine. We asked the employee if there was a way for us to get ice cream, and the employee continued to clean the machine and said that they have ice cream in the back - which was frozen solid - definitely not the soft serve that we were expecting. The employees were rude, and I can see where they get it from after getting touch with the manager. The manager insinuated that we were lying after we explained that food was room temperature. Customer service was terrible, management was awful and did not fix the situation, and food was not worth what we paid for it. We will not be back. read more

We've been to a few different Dickeys, and have always fonljnd to food to be consistently good. This one is no different, and I especially appreciated that there were some location specific side items. Dickeys is the go-to place for us to stop during road trips as they make the meal as you order, and it's ready once you get to the register. It's as fast, or faster, than fast food joints, and tastes significantly better. The free soft serve ice cream is also a fun addition for the kids, and one we missed at our closer location in Ashburn, VA. read more

Went in tonight to get what I know I like, the ribs, but left after waiting for 20 minutes and they hadn't even asked me for my order yet. 3 employees behind the line and there was only one couple ahead of me and I have to wait 20 minutes for them to even look at me. Overpriced, average quality, small portions. We got a family picnic pack (serves 4 in theory) with pulled pork and added a half pound of beef brisket. The pork was very, very fatty. I honestly don't mind a bit of fat, but this was way too much (at least one sandwich worth of the pulled pork had to be tossed.) I did think that the sauces were fairly good. The beef brisket was horribly dry and chewy, total waste of $. The sides were average...quantities small. The corn bits in the corn muffins were rock hard. The pecan pie was fine at $2 for a small slice wrapped in plastic wrap. Overall we paid too much ($45ish) for meh quality food. read more

Absolute waste of $45. The wings were tough. The brisket was supposed to be sliced, it was one chunk of pure gristle. The Texas toast was nothing but smashed bread slices with no flavor. The sweet tea was not sweet at all, it tasted just like the unsweet. Jalapeño beans had no flavor, was more like pork n beans but not as tender. The green beans were "ok." The sausage and pulled pork were alright. The okra was good. I would not return. Sign was posted that if you give them 5 stars they will offer you a free 2 meat plate. Ordered take out from this place and it was horrible. We ordered ribs and they were way over cooked and dry. The creamed spinach was a disgusting mess. Had enough salt in it to kill a horse! I picked up a corn muffin only to have it crumble into crumbs in my hand. We had to dump the entire order in the garbage. Nothing like throwing away $75 worth of food!!!! I called multiple times to talk to the owner only to be given the run around from the workers. I was told the owners wife was in and I could talk to her while the owner ran deliveries all day, she never got on the phone. LOL When I hadn't heard from him all day I called back AGAIN and asked for the owner only to hear on the other end of the line "ugh, it's this woman again!" Such a disappointment.
