Pork rib plate, came with two sides and a buttered roll.
    Clement C.

Way back it used to be just Shorty's BBQ in Longmont, but it has been long gone and several BBQ joints have popped up since including Dickey's which serves Texas style BBQ. The set up is counter service. It was late lunch on Labor Day, the place was not busy and the service was prompt. The staffs were courteous also. I had the pork rib plate with mac and cheese and green beans. The ribs were tender and tasty by themselves and not too sweet but also lack smokiness. I tried all 3 BBQ sauces, regular, sweet and spicy but none of them added much to the ribs. The mac and cheese was cheesy but overcooked, maybe in the sauce for too long. The green beans had lots of black pepper which I like. Free self serve soft cone to round off the meal. Overall reasonable value for the money, the meal was not bad but also not the best BBQ ribs I have ever had.

It is a place to spend money on food and drink and socialize, but it is not a good fit for all sensory needs - especially challenging for those with auditory sensitivity. I organize a local community group to attend trivia events and we like Parkway for this, but we're don't love it. This review is specific to Wednesday nights, and trivia in particular. Pros: - Fantastic food selection for all ranges of affordability and dietary preferences (but perhaps not restrictions due to allergy). Employees of food stalls are friendly and service is always great. The popsicle stand guy is above and beyond! - Many seating options. Low tables with benches, high tables with chairs that have a back, and numerous 2-4 top tables with ordinary chairs. - Trivia prize is a gift card usable throughout Parkway (except the cheesesteak place, I think). - If you beat the house at trivia, they give out drink tokens for the team. Our team tends to be very large with only 3-4 people actually paying attention to trivia, and last night the bartender offered to provide tokens for all 12+ people. We declined but appreciate the generosity! - There are several children's play areas including an arcade, and several other separated spaces that I'm guessing can be rented or used for larger groups. Cons: - The space can get quite loud and the trivia caller may or may not be very audible. If you're too close to the trivia caller's speaker, it can be very difficult to hear the people at your table. - Only one TV is turned to the trivia game, so if you're seated facing away from that TV (about half the seats in the house are) you need to look at the trivia questions on a phone or computer. - Tons of TVs here. There isn't any seating area that's tech free. You'll have TVs in line of sight the whole time you're here, which may be challenging for those who are very distractible or prefer less tech in their social spaces. - Despite it being the World Cup, last night every TV was tuned to a baseball game. While yes there was no live game playing right that time, it was bizarre to me that not a single TV was doing replays of the most watched global sports tournament ahead of the quarterfinals. - The bar pool tables are kinda in the middle of everything (right next to a trash/water area and door to a patio), and every time I see people play they are constantly stopping play to accommodate diners walking around them. It would be nice if the bar games had their own space - darts could be added if they moved the pool tables into one of the walled off rooms. More adult play spaces = more $$ spent, so probably good investment for them for the future. Trivia: - Currently device dependent. You must have a phone or computer to play. - 4 rounds of 8 questions, 3 minutes per question. - Faster answers gain more points. - No limits on team sizes, and they're not very mindful about the winners - one time we had a new team member who was answering our team questions in his phone and won second place, which we of course declined but the trivia caller had no idea. - Prizes are Parkway gift cards to top 3 teams; $30 for 1st, $20 for 2nd, $10 for 3rd.

We were greeted immediately, seated right away, and had plenty of time to look over the menu. There was a huge variety of options, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. We started with the pickle fries, which were a great appetizer. I was also thrilled to see they offered a non-alcoholic drink menu. I ordered the Peach Mule, and my husband had the cream soda, both were excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Our food came out quickly, and the portion sizes were enormous! I ordered the Turkey Ranch Bacon Mac & Cheese, and it was absolutely delicious. I could barely finish a third of it, so I had plenty left over for dinner later. My husband ordered the brisket plate, and he loved every bite. Everything about our visit met, and honestly exceeded, our expectations. From the food and service to the atmosphere, it was an outstanding experience. We left completely stuffed, very happy, and we'll definitely be back! Our only regret is that we forgot to order banana pudding to go.

Ordered onion rings for an appetizer. Reading the menu I couldn't find brisket anywhere. Not on the nachos, one two or three meat plates, or sandwiches. All I ever get is brisket and sausage. Finally found the brisket. It's in small print under each item for an upcharge of anywhere between $5 and $10. For example the sandwich is $19. They are happy to sell you the cheaper meats at a premium but if you want brisket you have to pay even more. If we wouldn't have already ordered onion rings we would have left. Son ordered a burger and I ordered fries. Ate almost all onion rings and one was raw and still had powder on the inside. Fries were good, son's burger was good, but we can get burgers anywhere. I did bring the onion ring issue to the waitresses attention just so she could let the kitchen know. When she brought the bill, they had taken the onion rings off. I did not ask them to do that, but they did it anyway.
