Place has such great potential! Staff is nice, you order first and they bring it out. Everyone from cashier to cook are awesome and so nice. Lots of menu options and not extremely expensive at least. Interior is warm and smells of wood smoke. It's a great bbq place and one of my nearby favorites. My top recommendation is the baked beans side! They got that recipe down! Very tender and flavorful, I haven't had beans like this in ages. I like the Pulled Pork done "Bama style" which is just with some slaw on top. It's the same price as the regular and you get extra stuff! I've also had three other sides, cornbread (good but rather bland, not as sweet as I thought); Mac and cheese ( was a bit dry and sitting under a heat lamp too long) and banana pudding (very tasty). The actual pork is good, but not good enough where I didn't have to add sauce every bite. The sauce they provide is very good but a bit spicy. Would be nice for a couple different sauces. Food is always great at this place! Not many places in Boulder where you can get fried catfish and hush puppies. :) We go there from time to time; you should definitely check it out. But the service we got the last time we went was so above and beyond! It was a little while before closing time, and the dude who was working there came over to our table to ask if either of us was drinking tea and if we'd mind if he dumped the iced tea and started cleaning the urn. Turns out I actually WAS drinking tea and would've been really bummed if he dumped it out. So incredibly thoughtful! (Especially in a world where most restaurants have already dumped the drinks, stopped making food, mopped the floors, and put the chairs up on the tables an hour and a half before closing time, haha!) The other thoughtful thing he did was coming over to us again later to offer us some sweet potato casserole to take home. I ordered delivery two times in the past 5 months. Both times my full order was not fulfilled. The online ordering system allowed me to order ribs, but apparently the location was out of ribs and did not contact me for a replacement item. When I called the location, I was told my order was credited for the missing items but there was no apology or offer to order something different. Had an excellent lunch here today! It's under new ownership and Alex clearly takes pride in running his business. I had the fried catfish platter with hush puppies (instead of cornbread) and double collard greens. Everything was prepared perfectly and tasted great! The hush puppies had a crispy brown exterior and a moist and savory inside, the collard greens were not overcooked like they can often be, and the catfish was lightly battered and quick fried so it was light and tender. During a recent business trip to Boulder, I chanced upon Moe's BBQ. The staff was ultra-friendly and provided quicker than expected food to my table! I had a very tasty Pulled Pork sandwich and Sweet Tea that totally hit the spot. There was also great music playing throughout the restaurant and I appreciated the decor, using old ski-lift chairs as tables! Very cool! I was a big fan (emphasis on the was) of Georgia boys barbecue, but for some reason Georgia Boys has been slacking. Their brisket isn't as juicy and tender,the ribs are not fall off the bone anymore. My husband surprised me by taking me to Moe's in Boulder, as he knows what a BBQ fiend I am. We walked in just under an hour before they closed on a Tuesday evening, with one person ahead of us. We were perusing the menu when the gal behind the counter gruffly summoned us to the counter. Having never been there before, I was studying the menu but didn't see where fries were an option, so I asked, and she just pointed to the menu and rolled her eyes. I chose the sliced brisket and fries, and hubs ordered the smoked chicken, and then we took a seat nearby. Food took quite a while to come out, considering we were the only people seated, so my husband got up to ask the gal for status of the order. She was visibly annoyed and chastised him for even asking. The brisket was a little dry, so I filled up a couple small cups of their barbecue sauce so moisten it up. Turned out I needed a bit more, as I like to dip my fries in it. When I went back to get some more, I was baffled that she had removed the container. It was now 40 minutes until they closed, and they were getting a rush of customers, so I didn't get this at all. I went for BBQ and saw catfish on the menu so I got a combo plate with the catfish and pulled pork. I've been back 5 times now in the last two weeks and I don't plan on stopping. This was almost a $100 order. They said we have to do this through the application. No problem. But instead, they confirmed the order making us unable to cancel. I called the restaurant back And spoke to an extremely rude, she SAID she was the manager, Aleesha. She apparently not only doesn't know how to manage a restaurant during a high volume time, she said she didn't know what she was doing in order to cancel the order to refund the money. She asked ME what to do. I'm sorry I don't work there and I'm not a manager at your company? As a manager how do you not know this? And she refused to do a thing to figure it out or help me. Obviously becoming upset because her tone indicated that I should know how to do her job, I asked to speak to someone else and I said i need you to figure it out and refund my money. When I asked why they confirmed the order after we told them cancel because they didn't prepare enough food for a dinner rush at 625pm she said that she didn't care and that she disregarded the proper protocol and auto confirmed this "because she had a line out the door." How is that an excuse? You're a MANAGER. She hung up on me. Hope her franchise owners know they have a disrespectful idiot running their restaurant. The brisket and wings are awesome. I really like the brisket sandwich "'bama style" (not an actual Alabama thing), which involves adding Moe's barbeque sauce and slaw. But really where it's at are the wings. They are cooked crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Also I really like the fries, but my wife doesn't, so YMMV. Only reason why it's not getting 5 stars is that the sides it comes with are pretty mediocre usually, besides the banana pudding. When you walk in you smell the smoke, that's a good thing. I had a 3 meat platter with hot links, brisket and smoked chicken wings. The smoked wings were a bit too salty for me but had good smoke flavor. The brisket was good but maybe a little dry due to overcooking. The hot links were tasteless and very average so I wouldn't suggest those. I like coleslaw a lot but this marinated( vinegar based ) coleslaw was terrible. The potato salad was average and in need of some flavor but okay. Overall it was average BBQ with the smoked chicken wings being my favorite, I could stop for a brew and some wings after work. They won me over today, with a little help from my friends! The food here was good last time, the experience was not. But coming in early today for a lunch rather than a busy time of evening gave me a chance to see them at their best. Tables today were still clean for the day and I was with friends who knew I had been concerned in the past and helped to make sure we did have a clean table. Today I tried the brisket sandwich with a side of slaw and an unsweetened iced tea. All good. Nice tender brisket on a decent roll, not too much sauce, with a side of my favorite slaw in Boulder, marinated, not "mayoed." The self serve iced tea comes both sweet and unsweet and are served from separate dispensers, separate from the soda machine. Always tastes fresher to me this way. Price was just right and I like the option of a sandwich with just one side. As it was, I really could not finish everything since I rarely eat this much for lunch. Good sized portions for a lot of their customers. I will come back again and see if the place is still clean some evening. It would be a treat if I could add this location into my quick casual dinner rotations. The food is worth it. And I could do takeout but often that option is not as appealing as eating in. read more

Horrible Boulder Location with horrible service, DGAF attitude and horrible follow-up to correct issues. I order a Pulled Pork Sandwich to go with beans and slaw as the side items. After an extremely long wait in an empty restaurant, I received my meal., Only my meal was for inside the restaurant and not to go as ordered. I asked them to make it to go like I ordered. I received my bag and went to a work meeting with my team. As I opened my lunch, I noticed i was missing silverware, napkins and BBQ sauce. Worst part is I was in a 2 hour meeting with nothing to eat my lunch with. After my meeting, I went to Moe's website to submit my issue. I received an email from Laura Ryan on October 8. This place is definitely a good, quick, reasonably priced place to get some barbeque. I went here a few times while I stayed on campus for a summer program. It was right next to the school so the location can't be beat. The decor is quirky, cute, and different. They even had this table that had a chair that looked like a ski-lift chair - very unique. I happen to stumble on in when they were playing live music, which was cute and nice - especially to be serenaded on my way home from a whole day of classes - ugh. Food is good. The chicken was tender and a good portion. Cornbread and mac and cheese was good. The only con I have to say is that it seems like it would take quite some time to get my order out but eh, I was being serenaded while waiting so.... who cares about the waiting? read more
