I hired Dickey's to cater a lunch for over 120 people today and ended up regretting it immensely. I needed them there by 10:45, but they didn't show up until 11:25 which was after the lunch had started. I called them 3 times within that 40 minutes where my food was missing and they were extremely unhelpful. They would not tell me where my food was and they just overall had no idea what was going on. The first person I talked to on the phone at about 10:55 told me that the delivery guys was on his way. The second person I called at 11:05 told me that he had no idea where the guy was. The third time I called at 11:12, the person who answered was the delivery guy who proceeded to tell me that they had gotten a flat tire which I later discovered was a lie. Every person had a different story and different excuse, but the bottom line is that they messed up and the customer service was awful. They should've called me the second they knew they were gonna be late, but they didn't reach out to me once. They waited for me to freak out and wonder where my food was, and then call them. Then when they FINALLY showed up with my food, they were not helpful and they got out as quickly as possible without giving me the chance to talk with them about the incident. Apparently Dickey's is now offering a buffet on Monday nights. I would have never known had it not been for the text club. Has anyone ever seen a Dickeys advertisement? I am surprised we've had a Dickeys for this long. The bbq is not that great, and the restaurant is tucked in a strip mall that requires battling Republic Road traffic...all things that would deter a regular person...but not this girl. I got a text that said $9.50 for a buffet and drink, so I had to try it. I like to go scan a buffet before I commit, and this one confused me. I wasn't sure if it was a buffet or extra foil pans on the counter. There were three big chafing dish lids lined up, and paper taped to wall above them with scribbles of what was beneath. Lucky for me, each of the three lids were hiding two smaller pans: thick sliced turkey, pulled pork, green beans, baked beans, rolls, and baked potato casserole. No, yes, no, yes, yes, yes. Turkey tasted like Cajun lunchmeat and green beans tasted like strong black pepper (even though I didn't see any). Small portions of all, and very slow to refill...And there are no plates. You eat off the same piece of tray liner paper that you start with, and so does everyone else...every trip to the buffet. Something seems really unsanitary about that. If I were to make some suggestions, other than the obvious of keeping your buffet trays full, it would be the following: put out butter for the rolls, put lids on the tea dispensers, put out small bowls for ice cream-not everyone wants a cone, especially from a counter that has four or five broken cones laying around...our maybe I wanted to make a root beer float. It's not a bad price for a buffet, especially since you get one of those sweet big yellow cups. Add a few more food options and I'll definitely visit again. read more

I love barbeque but I was not impressed with Dickey's. My husband got a pulled pork sandwich that was okay. The meat didn't have a good smokey flavor and there wasn't much there. When I get a sandwich I want the meat falling out of the sandwich and my fingers to be messy. The sauces (original, sweet, and spicy) weren't that great to me, others may like them. I ordered the "Fall Off The Bone Pork Ribs." While they were fall off the bone, they were more like jerky. It seemed like they had been on the smoker for way too long and the outer layers had literally turned to jerky...they were that chewy. While I may give them another chance, it's going to be a while. read more

Went with my youngest(age 5) I had the baked potato and he had the chicken nuggets. Plenty of food and good sauce. Service was good and the staff was helpful and nice. Our food was freshly made and hot and although they apologized for the wait it was served very quickly. They have free ice cream cones so it was an instantly one of my sons favorite places. Ill try the ribs next visit and some different sides. read more

Came in at 4 pm. It was very slow. Got the ribs, green beans and fries. The sides were delicious. Luckily because the ribs were cold and tough. Couldn't even eat them. I've been three times now. We started going because they have good lunch specials. But I've decided my weekly BBQ lunch will be somewhere else. The food is decent, it could be great. The problem is preparation. It's often not really hot. And sometimes your sandwich has lots of meat... other times very little. The staff tries to be friendly, but they are way understaffed. The service is TERRIBLE. This last time, we walked in with nobody in front of us. We walked straight to the counter and were ready to order. They didn't even say anything to us for 5 minutes. And then it took us 20 minutes before we sat down with our lunch. And half our orders were incorrect. That is just unacceptable. read more

When we went to Dickies the place looked like a pretty good restuarant. I used the groupon that recently came out which was $12 for $20. We decided to go with the daily special and right before we ordered we saw a little ripped piece of paper that said,"NO DAILEY SPECIALS OR DEALS FOR GROUPONS." So the groupon was pretty much worthless. I got the 2 meat plate and 2 sides. Ribs, pulled pork, waffle fries and potato salad. I got 3 small ribs with about 2 tablespoons of meat. Basically a thin skin on the ribs. The pulled pork was good but only recieved a small handful. The potato salad looks like something from a nursing home, the fries were pretty good. My girlfriend had the same thing minus the ribs and had onion crisps instead of potato salad. The onion crisps were pulled out fresh and immediatly dumped on her plate, it was mush. And the manager took the fries off her plate that had been sitting there next to use for 5 mins. and dumped them on another guys plate that was standing there after he forgot he was waiting. Although not a terrible place to eat, it is definitely the worst smoke house/bar b que joint i've ever been too. I would have spent 25 bucks without the groupon and we got waters. Tried to order from them Saturday afternoon around 5 through Grubhub, about 30 minutes later received an email (not even a phone call) to say that they were canceling my order with no reason given. Called the restaurant to find out what happened and they informed me that they were out of wings and could not fill my order. What kind of place runs out of food early on a Saturday night?? Also, why no call? Poorly run business that I will never order from again. read more

We ate here a few nights ago, and it was awesome! Being our first time at Dickey's, we had multiple questions regarding the menu. Jared and Holden were very kind and informative, going above and beyond to answer our questions and make us feel welcome. It has been awhile since I've had such great customer service. Very clean cafe atmosphere. I enjoyed the food very much. The menu is typical for a BBQ restaurant. The ribs were excellent. The drinks were self serve with free refils. There was an ice cream machine with free soft serve ice cream for dine in customers. read more

We paid $21 for two small salads and a drink. If you try to eat healthy here you will go hungry. The salads were the size of what l consider a side salad. No complaint about the taste, only the quantity. read more

The three stooges behind the counter didn't know wtf was going on or how to fill orders in a timely manner. As the line started to build up the manager had to jump in and help, but he didn't do much. Asked me at least 5 times before I payed what all I got, and as the glazed eyes of the cashier staired blankly at me this teenager (who must have been baked off his ass) reply's, "wait, what did you get?". Free pickles and ice cream...What's not to like?

I walked into the Dickey's on Republic Rd. where I have eaten several times before. It was after the lunch hour and there were no other customers. After standing there looking at the menu for a while, finally an ethnic minority female with a big tattoo on her neck turned to me and asked 'for hear or to go?' When I said 'for here' she literally rolled her eyes. I asked if there were any specials today and she reluctantly told me the special and took my order. After paying and eating my sandwich I decided to have one of their self serve ice cream cones. The cones were jammed in the bottom of a box next to the soft serve machine. After getting my soft serve and returning to my seat the large box containing the cones fell from it's position about a foot and landed on the table underneath making a loud noise and sending pieces of ice cream cones everywhere. As the same employee who took my order walked out to the machine to clean up the mess I apologized to her. Instead of acknowledging me or saying so 'don't worry about it', she walked right past me, rolling her eyes at me a second time. I had never seen her there before and assumed she was a new employee that obviously hated her job and had some kind of chip on her shoulder. However, when I called the store later and related my terrible experience to her manager, I learned that she is a three year employee who according to her manager has been warned numerous times about her bad attitude. I'm not sure what her attitude is like on a good day but I won't be back to find out. read more

I like dickeys but this visit really left me flat.i love bbq. I was in the mood for ribs. I get there and they are out of ribs!!!!! Unacceptable... The 3 meat platters left me flat. We went there for the first time and were very disappointed. The baked beans were blah there was no taste, and very dry. The potato salad reminded me mashed potatoes with poor potato salad flavoring. I saw a deal on Groupon for this restaurant so thought I would give it a try. Maybe it was the time of day,(2 pm) but by far the worst BBQ ever. Dried out ribs, piles of mush for the brisquette. Much less than desirable experience. Ribs were dry & very chewy, not fit to serve. Big Brisket sandwich was very dry. Four sides ordered. Both orders of beans were barely warm & the cups were not even filled 1/2 way. Baked Potato Casserole delivered to the table "freshly made" according to the employee was not even heated to warm. Cheese would not even soften on it. A party of eight people walked in just as our meals were served so it was impossible to get any further service or comment on the food without making a scene so I opted to quietly chew, & chew, & chew the beef jerky ribs. There was a line at the free ice cream machine for quite a while until an employee filled it... the trash bin was overflowing & people began leaving their tables to let the employees bus them because there was no place to put trash or leave their trays. After the party of eight placed their order & were served both employees disappeared & were not seen for more than ten minutes! Seriously something very wrong here!! So disappointed I will never come back... $30 spent on a guest & myself for terrible food & service. read more
