Baked potato casserole was like glue, mac and cheese tasted like it was frozen and meat didn't have much taste unless I put bbq sauce on it. My bbq at home would blow this out of the water. The pulled pork was DRY and tasteless; how in the world do you dry pork out that much. Brisket didn't have any taste either until I used sauce. We thought Memorial Day would be good for barbecue do we decided on Dickey's. I had been pleased with a beef brisket sandwich at a Dickey's in Ca a few months earlier. My wife ordered the rib platter and even though they fell off the bones she detected a funny taste. My beef brisket plate was a mix of dry and extra fatty meat and I had to take some of it out. We have given them 2 chances and have been disappointed both times! The meat is filled with fat and grizzle! You barely get a couple of plates out of an entire container because of how much nastiness is included in your box. You only get about a quarter to a half a pound of edible meat out of an entire pound that you purchase! But on the plus side everything else the dogs really enjoyed! Kind of expensive for dog food but hey you gotta do what you gotta do. Coleslaw was a tad better than KFC but KFC is fast food so that's not saying much. read more

Thought we would try the BBQ place closer to us so we ordered food from the Surprise location. When my husband got home we realized the 4 rolls that came with the family pack were shorted to him . The smoked chicken was dry and the marinade was not a good flavor , green beans they were over peppered-the only thing that was good was their mashed potatoes. very disappointed-you get small amount of food for the price you pay, and the quality is definitely not there. Haven't eaten here in nearly a year due to a bad experience in the past with to-go order items missing, but decided to give it another shot tonight. Ordered 2 sandwiches with all the extras and additional sides of sauces all of which we paid extra for. Upon getting home and realizing all the things that made the food good were not included, I called and the manager offered to refund 2 of our items from our check. I accepted, but was very disappointed, the sandwiches were tasteless and dry at best. Half way thru my husband's pulled pork sandwich he pulled a long black hair out of his mouth! Dinner was over and I called for a full refund which we recieved. Bottom line we will not be returning and I don't recommend others use their take-out service without first opening all your food to confirm they made it the way you paid for it...and be ware of the pulled pork with a side of hair! read more

So my husband went to get some sandwiches and sides to bring home. took awhile to get the order taken. then when he came home, my beef and cheddar was cold and there was no sauce on it at all. my husbands sandwich had no sauce as well. and there was nothing else in the bag other than the sides.. What a terrible first impression. cold and no sauce from a BBQ place. at least I had some Famous Dave's bbq sauce to put on them. was going to try something else the next time. but don't feel like going back. read more

First time here. The staff very helpful and polite and fast with getting order prepared. You do have to go up and get your order yourself. We came with a group. My wife and I had the 2 for $22 special. The amount of food was reasonable. She had pulled pork and brisket with two sides. Mac and cheese and salad. First her brisket was so-so and the salad, good, but crammed in a small container. Maybe a little larger bowl would work better for that. I had brisket and sausage. Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Both of mine were good. The reason I gave this only 3 stars is many of us felt the food came out warm at best. This could be because by the time you put your food down and go stand in line for your drink the food cools. They should also consider various sizes of drinks. I loved Dickey's bbq it has that cook-out taste. However, I did not like the bbq sauce I chose to use aSweet Baby Rays which made it perfect. It was a bit pricey but I ordered it anyway because I love bbq but the price determines how often I order it. read more

They're going to give Rudy's a run for their money. We had ribs, chopped brisket, pulled pork and potatoes. Everything was excellent. Chopped brisket was super tender and moist. Pulled pork had tons of flavor. The ribs had a good smoked taste. All 3 sauces were very pleasing to me. You can get pickles and onions and make a sandwich with their delicious rolls. Place is on the small side but we were comfortable. Staff were very friendly and spoke to everyone. We'll be back for sure. Good addition to Surprise. read more

Not sure why previous reviews are so low. This place is a solid lunch option. I had the smoked pork sandwich, cole slaw and baked beans and they all were delicious. This location has gotten worse and worse. Everyone standing around when we walk in yet every single table was dirty. I had to ask for a wipe down. One of the soda machines was practically out of everything. I got the $18 rib platter. To start, the croutons in my side salad were stale. Some were so chewy it hurt my teeth. Others were hard. When I asked for new ones, he gave me some from the same place mine came from. He told me that. My rib meat was leather, unchewable fat or pieces of bone mixed in. I barely got to eat any meat. They forgot my roll so I had to go back up again. The guy was cleaning and had gloves on and used the same gloves to get my roll. I gave up. Hardly ate anything and wasted my money. read more

Horrible customer service... They don't even greet you or anything when you walk in and go up to the counter area to order. I was standing there for about 5 minutes and nothing at all. I ordered five pounds of meat ($100) and then got half way home before I realized they didn't give me any sauces. I had to go back in. They were not apologetic about it at all. I had to get their attention (3 males working) again after waiting at the counter. While waiting the first time I noticed another lady come back in and they forgot something from her order too so I should have checked my bag while still there. They bagged up 15 little containers of sauce. I sat the bag down in the car very gently. When I got home and opened my bag, one of the lids had come off the sauce now there was sticky sauce everywhere (It was not sealed all the way when put in the bag I guess cuz the others were okay). It was not a good experience at all. The employees really need to learn customer service skills. read more

So the past few days when you call to order the wait time of food is 1-2 hours and the people who answers is quite rude. There response to it been busy is the online orders and we said it makes it hard for us to want to do business with them. I though I call a hour early to order and they blocked my number. Doesn't ring goes straight to voicemail. Now when I call from my sons phone it just rings and rings and rings then goes to voicemail. Had a little bit longer wait than normal, the dining room was a bit of a mess. My order did come out quite below the level of other dickies. I called and let them know how my order turned out, went back to the store (I live 2 minutes away luckily) and they were extremely helpful and apologetic. They doubled my order to plus a dessert. The last three times I have ordered from here (1 Door Dash, 2 in person visits), most recently just a few moments ago for lunch, there has been a problem with my order or the staff have been very rude, unfriendly, and inattentive. I waited for 10 minutes standing at the register for any staff to acknowledge me to get a few packets of ketchup while my food got cold on the table. Standing there for 10 minutes, an extremely rude staff with shorter red hair looked at me twice and refused to acknowledge that I was standing there waiting for help. In addition, while I was standing at the register, the same red headed female staff managed to be rude to another guest who had a problem with her order and had to get a refund. First and LAST visit there last week! Employees behavior was that they couldn't care less about customers. Argued about my order, my coupon, etc. Food was incredibly BLAND and over salted! I recently contracted with Dickey's in Surprise to cater my husbands 90th BD party for 120 people. I was already stressed out putting this party together so when the caterers didn't show up on time then called a bit later to say they couldn't find the venue, I got upset. The manager assured me they knew the location. I had to get a cart from a nearby cafe (they didn't bring a cart of their own to make delivery) and had to get a relative to help bring in the food so it would be ready to serve on time. I was confident the food would be good based on a lunch visit to the restaurant beforehand. The ribs and slaw were very good but the chicken was dry, the beans EXTREMELY soupy and tasted like they came right out of a can, the macaroni & cheese was horrible. Only the little children liked it. Then to top all this, we ran out of paper plates...they didn't bring enough! We had to run to a nearby cafe and get some styrofoam boxes for serving the rest of our guests. For all of these reasons I was very disappointed. The corporate office turned my comments over to the local owner who called me and heard me out. I could tell he didn't agree with my comments (even tho he agreed the beans came out of a can!) and said the best he could do is offer me a discount on a future catering job. Really? So I took my family here about a week ago on a Thursday evening for dinner. We had never been here before. My husband had been wanting to go here for a long time. There were four of us and two in our party wanted the ribs which they told us they were out of after they took our order and charged me. Not a big deal I guess and they decided on other meals. The food came out relatively quickly. The waffle fries were yummy and hot, but the Mac n cheese was slightly warm, and all of the meat was cold. The reason I say all of the meat was because we tried pretty much everything, the brisket, the pulled pork, chicken, and the sausage. The sausage was overly salty in spots and overly spicy in others, it was odd. None of us liked the sausage. I ordered the regular baked beans but I got jalapeño baked beans which was fine because I like spicy foods but it wasn't what I ordered. We told the girl upfront that all of the meat was cold and asked her if it was supposed to be that way and she said no. The manager was very nice and apologetic and brought us out new plates of meat and some cookies for the inconvenience. The meat was warm but it was not hot. For the four of us it was $85. We would not come back again. Everyone working there was extremely nice and that was the one saving grace of the evening but I felt the meat was a bit dry and I like my food hot. I have had far better barbecue other places. We were very excited about this place and so we are disappointed that we have to cross it off of our list. read more

Ordered a 3 item plate with 3 servings of chopped brisket to split, with a couple of extra sides. The fried okra was perfect! Crispy, hot and very tasty. Coleslaw was cold and crisp. Brisket . . . the flavor was great, but unfortunately , the meat was not hot. It was lukewarm at best when served, cold before we could finish eating it. I'm hoping the disappointing temp of the meat was because there was a very large group in front of us that seemed to have taken the staff by surprise. Tried Dickey's Barbecue on the 303 and Bell Road for the first time. I ordered a 3 meat it consisted of smoked turkey, pulled pork, and brisket. When I seen him pull the meat out of the oven it was Saran wrapped. that's not how you do BBQ back home. The brisket was soggy, the turkey I couldnt even taste the smoke flavor. The proportion size was so small for the price I paid.... very unhappy I will never return the Dickey's. I will stick to good barbecue Porkopolis Arizona. read more
