I called and asked...can it be 65? Yes, she said, so I hurried to pay to hurry to get the cleats to the student so he can play! As I am paying, the young manager comes to the register and says "give her my discount." I paid 53$ OUT THE DOOR for the cleats.. What an act of kindness!! What a generous, wise young manager.. I'm making this my go to store Thank you!!

Although they say there is no time limit for returns, there certainly is (according to corporate mgmt). However, no where in their pamphlet, store, or receipt does it say in writing that you cannot return anything (even new with receipt) once the item is purged from their system (who knows when that is) or it has been several years old. One representative told me that they would not be able to resell old (but unused) items due to parts like shoe glue in my case (Nike shoes). But that goes with anything they sell so that's a poor answer. So buyer beware! Not just this store. All Big 5 locations have the same "lame" misleading return policy under corporate executives. They need to update their policy and customer service big time. And they need to put all the disclaimers etc. on paper especially the receipts. It doesn't help even if you are a loyal customer for several years either.

I have been to this store many times before and the service feels unfriendly, employees are…read moredistracted watching a game and they put the least amount of effort into helping costumers, I even bought merch and the check out process felt as if it was a hassle for them, to the point where the experience feels unwelcoming. I have to say though, that a few times one employee would be friendly but it would happen rarely. I know working in retail sucks, but some of us come into the store enthusiastic about the sport and wanting to share it with the employees who I assume like it too. I generally feel like that being there and looking at the products is somehow annoying to them. I once didn't buy cleats here because it seemed like when asking for assistance caused a burden. She gets extra points for being easy on the eyes. Birdman Shawn was our kayak tech. He wasn't as warm as you approach him but once you get him talking, man, he's the sweetest. Super cool guy. He makes work fun and really loves animals. My daughter and I were both impressed with his pigeon training skills. I picked up my ID on the exit and that was a fun day in the books.
