Had a bad experience i had went to go for a quick run to go get new items. I had found my items really quick and then I had went to the cashier the girl was nice. She had charged me way more then i had brought i had let her know she charged wrong and had added way more items and she denied it. Overall was a bad experience from the cashier. Overall not the best buying experience. The first gentlemen who assisted me was pretty friendly and decent. Check out was cringy and awkward and the other employees seemed to be giving me the evil eye whilst browsing. Ultimately I beat a hasty retreat after purchasing because I felt overall you get the "get your things and scram" vibe from this location. Although it may have more to do with the physical location (Roseville) versus the actual store the same prejudices apply. Fortunately they did have the item(s) I was looking for but I am more in tune with my surroundings then others at times and will not return to this location again. Overall this place is now NOT a great place to go if you're of African decent. While other places may or may not be overly enthused about your business this location will take your money but will make sure you're only there for absolutely what you require no time to browse. There are not too many sports stores in general anymore so as always online purchasing will and would be your best bet either way. Takes profiling out of the equation and you don't have to "settle for what is available in store". As you can see from my other reviews I have not had the most pleasant experiences lately in The Bay Area...However! I gave two stars because I do like their merchandise, however, the only service that I am pleased with are the front of the store cashiers. Everyone else is nonexistent or unhelpful. I was there recently to buy cleats for my son. It was a very busy day and after waiting for about 40 minutes, we ended up just leaving. There is no organization, you can't take a number and none of the employees ask "Who's next". They just pick whoever is standing right in front of their face doesn't matter who came first. We drove 30 minutes to get to the store and then ended up leaving without buying anything. I won't be going there again. My son plays football and is a wrestler and from now on I will buy everything somewhere else. read more

Just letting everyone know, do not purchase ANYTHING FROM Dicks if you need to have something delivered and set up! They know they have a problem with the third party vendor yet they still continue to use them. They don't tell you that until you call and let them know they never showed or called. Then they tell you it's an ongoing problem. The company they use is irresponsible they never show up! They use a company Called "Select Express" They select all right, not to deliver your stuff!! Dicks does nothing about it after they get their money! You just get a runaround! Meanwhile we search for our treadmill we don't know who has it! It's now 9:00pm so I'm sure this was time wasted! Really disappointed on Easter. Their phone voice mail said they would be open. So I leave our picnic, drive across 2 towns on Easter morning to buy. At 1:30 this afternoon, the Nike alphafly shoe was on sale for $99.99 with a red tag marked down from $274.99. When I came back at 8:30 PM to the Roseville location to purchase the shoes, they had taken the red tag off and I talked to the manager and he said he was not there eight hours ago so they could not honor it and they told me that they made a mistake by marking the shoe for $99.99 it is OK to remove the tag on a different business day but to remove that tag in the same business day is not OK that is in egregious error. to make up for it they gave me 20% off one of my pairs of shorts but still that was the most egregious error ever and the manager said that I was insulting him but I told him that they were insulting the customers by doing that. read more

We were shopping here at 6:45pm on 08/31/2024 This store has one of the rudest employees, a bald man named Spencer he had the worst customer service. After waiting for help in the shoe section for 15-20 minutes I went to ask him for help but unsure if he was the right person, asked my girlfriend to press the help button one more time. He said "did you just have someone press the button?" And i said yeah my girlfriend just pressed it. To which he replied "well i'm busy. So chill." While we were originally waiting and he wasn't helping another customer we saw him talking to other coworkers across the store. I would have left if not for the fact this was the only store that had the specific shoe i wanted in my size readily available, i had just went to golf galaxy moments prior where they confirmed the shoes here at Dicks. Needless to say i wont be doing any more shopping here due to the terrible experience and downright unnecessary disrespect from Spencer. He could have told me he needed a moment. I had a problem with ordering and the phone customer service department thus I went into the store to speak with a manager face to face. After explaining my problems to the manager, Sully, he called customer service on my behalf and had my problem resolved in a matter of 10 minutes. I had been dealing with this issue for 5 days and was so frustrated. Sully took the time to listen to my concerns, he validated me and immediately sought resolution. Their prices are over priced I think because they are now the only sporting good store in town. Twice now I've used a coupon and had to exchange for the exact same thing just a different size. Both times they didn't honor my coupon and said I owed them money. What?! I was doing an even exchange. When I questioned them they would have to get a manager to approve it. They really helped out my son in making sure his baseball gear was the proper fit for him. Only dings are the prices are high and they do not honor our active duty/reserve/guard military or veterans with a discount. That's unAmerican in my opinion. Terrible customer service compared to Elk Grove store.. Lady working in shoe section.. I was shopping for Adidas Ultra Boosts.. mind you, they are $180 shoes.. I asked to see them in my size, they scanned the barcode.. said, "you're in luck, we have 3 of them in stock." the pair they brought out had a manufacturing defect where the glue for the sole went over the aesthetics of the shoe fabric.. I asked to see another to compare.. similar issue.. asked to see the 3rd.. and she fakes like she is asking for them and then says, "ohh, they just sold?" then brings out the 2nd pair and says, "this is all we have, either take them or not." They aren't exactly cheap shoes, so I just wanted the best pair you had. But I guess that was too much work for you.. didn't even have to grab the shoes yourself cause you were too old to do the job.. had helpers yet still provided terrible service.. read more

This review is long, but maybe it'll save someone trouble of shopping here. My recent experience with Dicks sporting goods was the worst ever. I made my purchase online w/ express shipping to get a tent before Father's Day. A day or so passed and I hadn't received an email on shipping, so I chatted in. They said the item would ship and arrive on time. But.... then 2 days later I contact them and am told Dicks did not actually have the tent in stock, that inventory was inaccurate and my order would be canceled. Totally unapologetic customer service and nearly ruined my Father's Day gift plans. I confirm with this rep PLEASE to cancel it. She said the charge would fall off my credit card, as there was 0 in stock and it never shipped. (Yet the website let me order and they took my money no problem). The charge sat pending on my credit card for another day, then randomly, I get an email that the order shipped, when they said there was 0 in stock? Really? How is that even possible? Again I call in and am told that it's too late in the order/shipping process to cancel! The next rep says I basically have to now return this huge ass tent in store. Its pretty clear that Dicks dropped the ball many times. And I got charged for it when it should have just been cancelled Well the tent finally arrived yesterday, 4 days after the "express shipping timeframe". I lug it into dicks in triple digit heat and ... this location made me show them all of my emails from chat correspondences before they would even begin to process my return, after I explained the whole situation and provided my order confirmation and receipt. After 10 min of trying to work with them, I feel like I'm doing most of the legwork by now, and finally they begin my return but decided to leave out shipping costs! Keep in mind the rep on the phone told me I'd get refunded for ALL costs including tent and shipping fee (since nothing ever came on time, even though I was charged for it!) It was a never ending nightmare ... i try explaining this in store, and I'm told "we never refund shipping fees for online returns here". They then tried to give me store credit for the shipping fee. Pretty much the worst experience I've had with a retail store. I'll stick to Bass Pro shop for our future outdoor needs. read more

The customer service at Dicks is amazing. If you look lost or confused a staff member will approach you! From the store manager all the way to the employees on the floor they are helpful and caring. I was a hug sports authority guy but after my last few experiences I will be doing a lot more of my shopping at Dicks! I've been to multiple locations all over and this is pretty standard. Nice to see a sports store back on this side of town. This little shopping complex seems alive again. They had a crazy amount of staff working and I hope that staffing model works out. It always amazes me how stuff is priced. Little bit on the higher side, but they definitely have selection. Today I went into the store to exchange an item I bought for Christmas. They did not have the jersey I wanted in a bigger size. The cashier was extremely helpful with the return and then a different sales associate named Beth helped me reorder the correct item so it could be shipped to me. She was beyond helpful and extremely professional and knowledgeable. I will definitely go back there to shop in the future. read more
