Went to two locations today. The one in Eastvale had helpful friendly staff the one in Upland on Campus sucked. The Campus location made me feel like a burden. I was there to buy a two pairs of running shoes, one for my wife and a pair for myself. After a long wait in an empty shoe department, my wife tried on a pair and liked them so we got them, but I didn't get myself a pair because the sales associate couldn't be bothered and we appeared to be bothersome. When we got to the register we had another bad experience. The cashier was rude. We noticed one of the items was priced as we expected and asked her if the price was correct and she said, enter your phone number. We again asked and again she said enter your number. We asked a third time and she rolled her eyes and said enter your number then explained she'll check after we enter our number. We wouldn't have asked multiple times if we had been given the explaination the first time we asked. I would t have written this, but this has been my experience the last three times I've been there. Definitely won't be going back to this location and probably won't be going back to any other location. read more

When I'm to buy an Ethos power rack and bench. Are looking around I finally got some assistance, I asked about both. The young lady snipped if the box is not out we don't have it. Which I undo for the the bench, I asked about the display power rack in black and she was we only have it in red and we don't ever sell the displays! Before I asked another wished walked off. They are actually Dicks, they take there name way to seriously...just kidding onto the review. Be careful with there "rewards" program, you often don't get your points or cash back as offered. That's my biggest complaint about shopping there. Purchased something for 350 and was supposed to get $50 back in rewards.The employee told me they will "email" you the codes. Surprise no codes sent, called customer service 5 times and was unable to get it resolved. Initially they told me that there was no such promotion. Then I sent them a picture of the promotion and recipes and still refused to honor. It's really quite unbelievable. I eventually gave up and decided it wasn't worth my time. For the prices they charge they could offer a lot better service. Most employees give off a vibe of arrogance or don't seem interested in helping at all. I wanted to buy a stationary bike, so I went to Dick's in Upland, because it's a place I had liked in the past. I'm not going back again. Dick's handles the "you can pay to get it assembled and set up" on a complicated machine (a stationary bike), one that takes a professional over half an hour to assemble, in an outrageously inconvenient way. They wouldn't let me pay for the assembly until the bike had actually been delivered, and they wouldn't take my credit card information over the phone after it was delivered, so I had to go back to Dick's again just to pay for the assembly. And afterward it took close to two weeks to get the assembly scheduled, because they use an outside company, and that company, not Dick's, controls the scheduling. Nor was this all. "Assembly and setup" didn't include all the equipment needed to make the bike work. It needed four D-size batteries (or a power cord that needs to be ordered separately from the manufacturer). I didn't have either around the house because Dick's didn't tell me I needed them. Not being able to make sure the bike worked before the technician had to leave for his next appointment isn't "assembly and setup." Dick's should have told me that I needed to buy the batteries - how the heck was I supposed to know otherwise? The information was in a sealed plastic envelope in the box that I didn't want to open until the technician was actually there. The technician hadn't assembled that particular bike before, and he learned that I needed the batteries at the same time that I did. I went out and bought the batteries and installed them and the bike works fine. The clerks were kind and polite. But I blame Dick's for how they manage assembly and how they didn't give me crucial information. Next time I need exercise equipment I'm going somewhere else. read more

I waited in line to make an exchange for a jersey I had purchased last weekend. Once it was my turn I was told by Jordan to walk to where the NBA jerseys were located, and find the size jersey I was trying to exchange. The item I was looking for was in stock, but not located on the sales floor. So I had to ask another employee to get one out of the back. When I get back to the front, I was told to wait in line again before I could complete the exchange. Once it was finally my turn again, I was not thanked for completing the leg work that your employees should be doing, or even asked any small talk questions. Little league parents beware. There is a new bat rule and many of the bats they are selling at Dicks will be obsolete in January. No one bothered to tell me when I bought the "wrong" bat but they were all very well aware when I attempted to return it the next day. I had my receipt and the bat had not been used in any way but they would not accept a return because the plastic wrap had been removed. They made no effort to accommodate me and said I had to take it up with Easton. I hate this place. Really no good reason to shop here. You can always find better deals online and the customer service is a joke. Update (one month later): After multiple calls with Corporate they called the store and ultimately agreed to accept a return and issue a store credit. I've been shopping at Dicks for years. Last week I bought a pair of Jordan's for my son and he wore them once and they ripped on the side of the right foot and were uncomfortable to wear and looser on the right foot so I tried to return them today and the manager said that they won't return shoes once they have been worn and that the sole would need to be falling off! My son only wore them once as I told him and didn't know they were defective until AFTER they were worn!!! Yes they had grass on them and had a scuff mark because he plays football!! The manager didn't help me right away and continued to take other customers and I also heard him say that he didn't know what was going on! I told him that we shop there a lot and his dad even bought him another pair of shoes from Dicks this morning to replace these ones but he didn't care! I'll remember that and will not return!! Bought 1,500 dollar treadmill. Had to return because their 3rd party delivery services took nearly a month!! I waited two weeks for delivery initially. Called the store and told me to come in and fill out delivery form. Stated that it should of been done at time of transaction. So i had to go back and have them fill out form. Then received email from their 3rd party delivery that my treadmill would be delivered on the 25th of January. Then they changed my delivery to a TBD status. I purshased the treadmill 1/5/18...1/25/18 comes and still no treadmill. I demanded a refund. Got my refund and bought my treadmill on amazon. To top managers at Dicks, change your delivery 3rd party company. They are making you lose business. You lost 1,500 from me. read more

I try to be a good citizen and shop locally. I've bought tons of baseball gear from this store. I decided to get some Nikes for me and my son. We had flip-flops on, so we had to use those little nylon socks. My son loved his, but when I got home and put on normal socks, mine felt like torture devices. I walked to the mailbox to be sure. Yep, Nike laid an egg with this model shoe. I put them in the box and took them back a few weeks later when I had time. I waited in a long line to ask the inexperienced minimum wage abuser to tell me he'd have to ask his manager (who surely was a minimum wage abuser just a few days prior) when he saw some dust on the soles of the shoes. He bid me to pick out some other shoes while he checked with his manager. When I found a better shoe, I waited in the long line again just to have him tell me that they would not exchange the shoes. Hey Dicks, I wasn't trying to scam you! I'm not some loser trying to wear your shoes without paying. I've spent thousands at this store! I have the card! Check the records! I simply wanted you to tell Nike that they made a crappy shoe by sending these back to them. Perhaps a talented retail consultant would take those shoes back and promptly up-sell me into better model. After reading the other reviews, it seems like my experience was not much different than what other people experienced. Dicks does respect their customers. Dicks hires workers that don't respect customers. Amazon wants my business. Costco wants my business. Heck, even the fast food chain Chic-fil-a makes me feel like they're genuinely happy to serve me! I ordered a pair of Nike joggers online for curbside pickup at the eastvale location unfortunately they were unavailable, however I still wanted the joggers so I called the upland location to see if they had the item I was looking for in stock before I ordered it online and have the same thing happen to me again. The women that answered the phone had a very rude attitude especially when I asked her to do her job and check if they had the item in stock. They definitely hire people with terrible customer service but I guess they pick their employees to match there company name. read more

I never learn my lesson. I swear. Came in here earlier this week after it said they had cleats my daughter wants in stock. Nope. Didn't have them. Or ANYTHING even close to her size. Looked online this am for some 10" softballs. It said they had a bucket of them left. It's way less expensive than buying them individually. Sure enough, no bucket of balls. I was told by the manager their website only updates every 24 hrs. Hilarious. Cause when it said this am they had 5 of the balls I actually wanted in stock, i opened it an hr later and it was updated to 1. So that updated but the other didn't? Lol. Manager offered me a discount to have what I wanted shipped to me. I would have just ordered them online if I was trying to wait for them to get delivered. I had come to the store to get my son some t-ball stuff, and I was not sure where it all was. I had gentleman named Zach, who had come over and asked if I needed a hand. I replied sure, not only did he show me everything I needed but he went above and beyond. He made me aware of a promotion that was going on, (which saved me about $20) he even called another associate up to take all the items we were carrying to the front counter so that I did not have to carry it around the store. After we finished trying on cleats for my son, he asked is that everything you were looking for, and I replied most everything, I just need some of the hard foam practice golf balls.. He replied, perfect, just head to the front, I will grab them for you, and meet you at the front of the store. I was astounded... I felt like I was at Nordstrom! One of the best outlets for sporting goods in SoCal. Part of a long established chain of stores in SoCal, Chicks is a great stop for traditional sporting goods as well as a large selection of seasonal casual wear largely geared toward teens. Also a nice selection of team apparel if you're into wearing your teams colors. For traditional sports they carry a better selection of higher quality gear for volleyball, tennis, softball, baseball, football, basketball, soccer, etc. including a great selection of shoes. Their winter sports selection includes more high performance skis and boards than most stores and they have had historically he most experienced and knowledgeable staff. Prices are what they are. They are not a discount store so they charge the normal price for what they carry. They do have an outlet store in OC as well. If you want good gear go here - if quality doesn't matter go get your junk at big 5, sportmart, sports authority, etc read more

I know people work there, because we bought some power bait. Well, bought it after questioning them trying to charge more than the displayed price. We came to purchase a weight bench and weights. We hung out in the section with all the exercise and weight equipment for 20 minutes before giving up. No one ever asked if we needed help, never came into the area. We walked around the whole back corner of the store looking at all the weight options. And then finally decided we could just get it someplace else where we can get some customer service to assist our purchase. Won't be back. Too many other options to spend our money at. read more

I exchanged some sweat pants which were a Christmas gift. The Nike sweat pants I got in exchange ended up being defective and I went in to exchange them for another pair. Good luck getting help here. Went to get a baseball glove restrung. A service they advertise for all stores but only perform at a few. 20 minute job. Drop it off 3/25 with a projected pick up of 3-10 days. I chuckled at how long they gave themselves. Checked in 8 days later. Not done. Pointed out they had two more days. Called 3 days later. Day 11. On hold 10 minutes and had 3 different people answer the phone before reaching Conner. Conner explained the glove wasn't done. But they'd be glad to discount or make it free. But still no clue when it will be done. It's high school baseball season. March turns to April. Still no clue. So. No help answering phone. Doesn't deliver when promised. And when date passes? Dick's Sporting Goods - Upland: WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I rarely feel motivated to write a negative review, but Wow - this place takes the cake. Went in to make an expensive specialty purchase for father's day. I was told the items were "in the volleyball section." I'm wearing a knee brace due to my ongoing injury. So I limp all the way across the warehouse store, only to discover the item I'm looking for isn't in the "volleyball section." Limp all the way back to the cashier "Sara" to further inquire. She says "there's TONS of them back there." SO seriously -- I LIMP all the way back to the section and cannot find the specialty item. Limp ALL THE WAY back to the register and AGAIN tell Sara these items are not there - I asked her to help me find it, and she rolls her eyes and says - "Well maybe I can find someone to help you." So then she tells me to meet some guy on the "floor" and he will help me find the items, but I can't find the guy.... Eventually, some guy finds me and walks me ALL THE WAY BACK to the area, and WHAT TO OUR SURPRISE??!!?? There are NONE of these items. Sooo, I limp back to the register, where I have now made Sara wait with all my other items, along with my sidekick & a baby with a stroller, and I ask Sara what she meant when she said there were "tons" of items back there. I asked her for a description of the word "tons" and what that meant to her, because clearly there are only 4 of them and none are what I was looking for. She rolled her eyes and told me that when she went back there, she saw a variety of them. Well - needless to say, I did not find that one item, but left the store making a purchase of over $200 of summer pool things, an expensive backpack and some shirts. Two days later, I returned the very expensive backpack. God needed some entertainment, so naturally - "Sara" was there to help me again!!! I asked for a cash refund and I was told by Sara it was their policy to credit the card used. I argued that it was a debit card (cash equivalent) done 3 days prior and the money was taken from my account. Again, I was told the policy, so since I was in no mood to argue, I "accepted" the policy and relented to having the credit put back to my card. Well GUESS WHAT???!!!! - Sara didn't credit my card, or at least, as of this date, there is no CREDIT. So, after calling my bank who advises they have NO control over when Dick's releases the funds, and then calling Dick's and being told on the store level by "Miriah" that it takes a couple of days to credit and they have NO CONTROL - I have determined that DICK'S SPORTING GOODS has the worst, most ineffective, unprofessional, lame, rude, loser, and low life staff and customer service EVER in the history of all customer service. Don't shop there unless you enjoy being treated rudely and purchasing over-priced crap. read more

Sure enough, goggles were 60% off so I got them each 2 pairs. There were a few shoes I passed up because I had to tell myself that I did NOT need more shoes. But they were cheap!
