They need to scrap the ordering online and curbside pick up all together. If you purchase something for curbside it should be packaged and ready to go especially something small or low stock since it's a recipe for disaster, if another customer purchases said item then guess what they cancel your online order because of their incompetence which that was the case for us. All we asked of the company was to speak to the manager so we could get a receipt of cancellation or some kind of confirmation that in fact the refund was processed and it took them well over 40 min to get that for us. Went to two locations today. The one in Eastvale had helpful friendly staff the one in Upland on Campus sucked. The Campus location made me feel like a burden. I was there to buy a two pairs of running shoes, one for my wife and a pair for myself. After a long wait in an empty shoe department, my wife tried on a pair and liked them so we got them, but I didn't get myself a pair because the sales associate couldn't be bothered and we appeared to be bothersome. When we got to the register we had another bad experience. The cashier was rude. We noticed one of the items was priced as we expected and asked her if the price was correct and she said, enter your phone number. We again asked and again she said enter your number. We asked a third time and she rolled her eyes and said enter your number then explained she'll check after we enter our number. We wouldn't have asked multiple times if we had been given the explaination the first time we asked. I would t have written this, but this has been my experience the last three times I've been there. They are actually Dicks, they take there name way to seriously...just kidding onto the review. Be careful with there "rewards" program, you often don't get your points or cash back as offered. That's my biggest complaint about shopping there. Purchased something for 350 and was supposed to get $50 back in rewards.The employee told me they will "email" you the codes. Surprise no codes sent, called customer service 5 times and was unable to get it resolved. Initially they told me that there was no such promotion. Then I sent them a picture of the promotion and recipes and still refused to honor. It's really quite unbelievable. I eventually gave up and decided it wasn't worth my time. I wanted to buy a stationary bike, so I went to Dick's in Upland, because it's a place I had liked in the past. I'm not going back again. Dick's handles the "you can pay to get it assembled and set up" on a complicated machine (a stationary bike), one that takes a professional over half an hour to assemble, in an outrageously inconvenient way. They wouldn't let me pay for the assembly until the bike had actually been delivered, and they wouldn't take my credit card information over the phone after it was delivered, so I had to go back to Dick's again just to pay for the assembly. And afterward it took close to two weeks to get the assembly scheduled, because they use an outside company, and that company, not Dick's, controls the scheduling. Nor was this all. "Assembly and setup" didn't include all the equipment needed to make the bike work. It needed four D-size batteries (or a power cord that needs to be ordered separately from the manufacturer). I didn't have either around the house because Dick's didn't tell me I needed them. Not being able to make sure the bike worked before the technician had to leave for his next appointment isn't "assembly and setup." Dick's should have told me that I needed to buy the batteries - how the heck was I supposed to know otherwise? The information was in a sealed plastic envelope in the box that I didn't want to open until the technician was actually there. The technician hadn't assembled that particular bike before, and he learned that I needed the batteries at the same time that I did. I went out and bought the batteries and installed them and the bike works fine. The clerks were kind and polite. But I blame Dick's for how they manage assembly and how they didn't give me crucial information. Next time I need exercise equipment I'm going somewhere else. read more

Little league parents beware. There is a new bat rule and many of the bats they are selling at Dicks will be obsolete in January. No one bothered to tell me when I bought the "wrong" bat but they were all very well aware when I attempted to return it the next day. I had my receipt and the bat had not been used in any way but they would not accept a return because the plastic wrap had been removed. They made no effort to accommodate me and said I had to take it up with Easton. I hate this place. Really no good reason to shop here. You can always find better deals online and the customer service is a joke. Update (one month later): After multiple calls with Corporate they called the store and ultimately agreed to accept a return and issue a store credit. Once it was my turn I was told by Jordan to walk to where the NBA jerseys were located, and find the size jersey I was trying to exchange. The item I was looking for was in stock, but not located on the sales floor. So I had to ask another employee to get one out of the back. When I get back to the front, I was told to wait in line again before I could complete the exchange. Last week I bought a pair of Jordan's for my son and he wore them once and they ripped on the side of the right foot and were uncomfortable to wear and looser on the right foot so I tried to return them today and the manager said that they won't return shoes once they have been worn and that the sole would need to be falling off! My son only wore them once as I told him and didn't know they were defective until AFTER they were worn!!! Yes they had grass on them and had a scuff mark because he plays football!! Called the store and told me to come in and fill out delivery form. Stated that it should of been done at time of transaction. So i had to go back and have them fill out form. Then received email from their 3rd party delivery that my treadmill would be delivered on the 25th of January. Then they changed my delivery to a TBD status. I try to be a good citizen and shop locally. I've bought tons of baseball gear from this store. I decided to get some Nikes for me and my son. We had flip-flops on, so we had to use those little nylon socks. My son loved his, but when I got home and put on normal socks, mine felt like torture devices. I walked to the mailbox to be sure. Yep, Nike laid an egg with this model shoe. I put them in the box and took them back a few weeks later when I had time. I waited in a long line to ask the inexperienced minimum wage abuser to tell me he'd have to ask his manager (who surely was a minimum wage abuser just a few days prior) when he saw some dust on the soles of the shoes. He bid me to pick out some other shoes while he checked with his manager. When I found a better shoe, I waited in the long line again just to have him tell me that they would not exchange the shoes. Hey Dicks, I wasn't trying to scam you! I'm not some loser trying to wear your shoes without paying. I've spent thousands at this store! I have the card! Check the records! I simply wanted you to tell Nike that they made a crappy shoe by sending these back to them. Perhaps a talented retail consultant would take those shoes back and promptly up-sell me into better model. I had come to the store to get my son some t-ball stuff, and I was not sure where it all was. I had gentleman named Zach, who had come over and asked if I needed a hand. I replied sure, not only did he show me everything I needed but he went above and beyond. He made me aware of a promotion that was going on, (which saved me about $20) he even called another associate up to take all the items we were carrying to the front counter so that I did not have to carry it around the store. After we finished trying on cleats for my son, he asked is that everything you were looking for, and I replied most everything, I just need some of the hard foam practice golf balls.. Part of a long established chain of stores in SoCal, Chicks is a great stop for traditional sporting goods as well as a large selection of seasonal casual wear largely geared toward teens. Also a nice selection of team apparel if you're into wearing your teams colors. For traditional sports they carry a better selection of higher quality gear for volleyball, tennis, softball, baseball, football, basketball, soccer, etc. including a great selection of shoes. Their winter sports selection includes more high performance skis and boards than most stores and they have had historically he most experienced and knowledgeable staff. Prices are what they are. They are not a discount store so they charge the normal price for what they carry. They do have an outlet store in OC as well. I know people work there, because we bought some power bait. Well, bought it after questioning them trying to charge more than the displayed price. We came to purchase a weight bench and weights. We hung out in the section with all the exercise and weight equipment for 20 minutes before giving up. No one ever asked if we needed help, never came into the area. We walked around the whole back corner of the store looking at all the weight options.
