Great location. Right by 91Fwy, same area with Costco, Staples, Best Buy, Sprouts... Very clean and organized. Hands sanitizer are available for customers used through out the store, so are signs to remind people of practicing social distancing. Fitness equipments such as dumbbells are shortfalls here due to the pandemic, I guess. Store employees are helpful and friendly. I feel safe to shop here and would definitely return when they are restocking. read more

Whatever sport you play, whether it's basketball, soccer, football, tennis baseball, volleyball, etc. you'll find the equipment and basically everything for your sport here. Dick's Sporting Goods is a huge store with an even bigger variety of sports items. I like the open feel of the store that lets you browse through everything without having that narrow feeling of a compact store. It's definitely not compact at all and it almost feels like Costco. They have different sections of the store dedicated to different sports and also a big section in the back just for shoes. You likely won't run into the problem of Dick's running out of an item. They have plenty of everything! I would say the customer service is amazing. The staff is ALWAYS so helpful and they have made my experience great every time. The prices are pretty good, obviously more than Amazon, but shopping here is much better than shopping on Amazon, trust me. You can actually try on clothes in-store before buying them and compared to other stores, the changing rooms are always so easily accessible. Overall, the perfect place to get anything related to sports. I like how they always have NBA games on too. read more

I came in today to return a gift that didn't work out for me. After browsing the women's apparel I didn't really see anything I wanted in the store so I figured I would get store credit so I could find something online. I asked if I could return my gift for store credit and he started to process my request. I then asked if I could use the store credit/gift card to purchase something online and he flat out told me no. Huh?? That's weird... but I took his word for it. Read quite a few poor reviews and I must say mine was completely different. I'm recovering from foot surgery and was looking for a good hiking/walking shoe. Went into the shoe department and was greeted by Kyle. Explained situation to him and after asking me a few questions about my gait he pointed me to Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22. Great shoe, comfortable and supportive in the areas needed, as Kyle said. He then directed my wife to a Brooks Ghost 14 as her gait is different than mine. I've been in this store several times with zero concerns. Today my son needed boots. I called the store and spoke with Zachary. He put me on hold and checked his inventory. He was able to tell me exactly what boots he had in my sons size. Perfect! I promptly told my son and he bought the boots. Zachary made this task easy. Thank you!!!! I have never experienced the most worse of Customer Service. My order 2 weeks ago came to my correct address no problems. And then I bought my latest pair and it showed it was delivered to an address that I have no idea who it went to? So I called the phone number of Customer Service, never have I dealt with the most worse service I have ever dealt with. Not only did they not want to send me a new pair to my correct address but they did not want to refund my 170.00$$ I went through Hell explaining it I wanted a new pair sent to my correct address not some other address I never heard of. My sister and I came to look for a gift for someone, and the worst costumer service, they walk around half the time looking at you and not even asking if you need help, and then we went to get help at the glasses section and the guy was talking so dry not caring at all what we had to say. We felt so uncomfortable, and of course he was so nice to the (white) guy in front of us. Racism is big in that store. I feel like I walked around forever in this store trying to get someone to help me out. When I did finally get some assistance, the worker was rude and barely said three words to me before going to talk to another employee who had walked out of the back. I really like Dick's. I go there for my bathing suits and their discounted hats. But a few days ago, I went in to look for a hat and I mentioned to an employee that the chairs I bought from here broke within 3 days of purchasing them. She went on to tell me that the chairs are only good for a one time use and they are used for more a "disposable", "throw away" or a "one time" chair use. (I honestly couldn't believe her response to my claim). She then said she could replace them for me but they were all sold out at the moment. She also mentioned she bought one for 4th of July and then hers broke and she had to throw her's away. Dick's: if you are going to let your chairs break (and put DICKS on them) then write on the description "disposable chair" or "throw away" chairs. Then I won't waste my money on buying them. Great job dick's sporting goods in ruining a perfectly happy birthday. After almost an hour of shopping on our own without any assistance for a bike and the accessories, we were told that we were not ALLOWED to purchase the $450 hybrid bike with disk brakes and titanium frame that Collin so carefully picked out. We were allowed to put it on hold so we can purchase it at a later time because there was nobody that could sell us the bike. This was a couple of hours ago, during normal business hours, and nowhere near closing time. We are most definitely taking our business elsewhere. read more

I ordered a pair of shoes online and then cancelled them within 45 minutes because I realized I already had a pair in that color. The main office, wherever that is, told me that I could not cancel them after 30 minutes. I spoke to the escalation dept. and explained that my husband is handicapped and I am recuperating from surgery and it would be difficult to return them because we don't get out much anymore (senior citizens). Both Miles and Robert said they would get in touch with FedEx and call back the order so that it would not be delivered. In fact Robert said he would give me a call back to confirm...but I never heard from him...and the shoes wound up being delivered!!! So my poor husband with all his pain had to go to the local Dick's to return them!!! I will never buy anything from Dick's again because they have no empathy or concern for customers who are going through a bad time!!! They are totally disgusting!!! Last week, I noticed that my basketball socks were all getting worn down and the majority of them had at least one hole in them. I began to think where I should go to get some new ones, and this store immediately came to my mind. Whenever I am in need of any kind of sporting equipment, I immediately think of this store. This is partly due to the fact that it is local to me, but the vast majority of the time, I walk out of the store in a short amount of time with exactly what I need. I took my younger sister too, and we were in and out with our new socks in just a few minutes. It was a virtually effortless experience and I was extremely satisfied with the service. Every time I go to this store, there is always an employee in the front welcoming me and asking if I need any assistance finding anything. Everyone there is always extremely kind and helpful and seems to be knowledgeable about their products. The store is very well-kept, clean, and has a wide variety of supplies and gear. The store is not perfect though. I have noticed that its shoe selection seems to be rather small, as well as its work out clothes. The store also seems to be slightly overpriced when compared to other sporting goods stores. However, despite this I had a very pleasurable shopping experience and I will be sure to visit again soon. read more

These guys are dicks! So I called and asked if they have crampons. The dude that answered the phone had no idea what they were. So I explained it to him and he told me they have a few, not as many as they do online. So I drive out to Savi Ranch and this place was hard as hell to find. It's tucked all the way in the back of the business district area. I had to call them and find out how to even get there because the yelp map pointer is not accurate... Anyways, when I got there, I tell this teenage employee that I'm looking for crampons. He looked miserable, perhaps because he was working there on a Friday night. He says "crampon?" and after I explain to him what they are, he says they don't have any... And he wasn't very nice about it... He says he can find out for sure, but he doesn't think he needs to because he's almost sure he doesn't... WTF? Great... so I go looking around and couldn't find any. I basically wasted my time coming out here... So I went to look at bike racks, the type you put on trunks. So I ask the girl there a question and she has no clue. So she calls over the same teenage guy from earlier and he just tells me I need to buy the super expensive one even though there are cheaper options... This dude is not very helpful... a total dick if you ask me! I did end up buying something just to justify my long ass drive to this place but I think I'll try another location next time I need to shop at Dick's. read more

It's somewhat an unwritten rule that being vain only works if you're actually hot. But you know what? Screw that rule! I'm vain anyways, sucka! If you can look past my business class beergut and sweaty upper lip, you might find me hot too...so long as you're quite intoxicated and desperate. So, yeah, anyways I typically spend a good 40 minutes checking myself out in the mirror each morning. I use a Sharpie to draw in some abs and extra virgin olive oil is good for giving me that shiny effect. Le final piece de resistance is the underwear. I'm not the type that likes old school boxers. They make you look like you're carrying the Michelin Man's son in your ass. As for butt huggers? I think that shape is only appropriate in the latex variety AND (not OR) swimming laps in the pool. As for boxer briefs, those fit the bill perfectly. If you're new to boxer briefs, the 100% cotton variety is a good start. However, you will soon learn that after a full active day they soon take the shape of your standard grandpa boxers. The leg holes are stretched out, the front is saggin' like MC Hammer's parachute pants and the back looks like three dozen used ketchup packets stitched together. Skip the basics and start buying Under Armour's boxer briefs. They retain their shape all throughout. The fabric wicks away moisture hence your crack doesn't smell like vomit regurgitated by a drunken sorority chick. The contour hugs your body and the stretchy material is anti-wedgie. And the crotch region is gusseted for ample room and the mesh design allows your Garth Johnson to breathe. And yes, the gusseted mesh crotch makes you look like a porn star down there. Okay, maybe just some of you. And where do you buy the mecca of boxer briefs? That's where Dick's comes in (and out...and in...giggle). What better place is there to shop for crotch gear? Exactly! Sporting goods stores are where dudes go for quality underwear. Even if Victoria's Secret comes out with a men's version of their store, dudes still gotta stick with sporting goods stores. Only the fashionable gays and flamboyant metros are qualified to shop for their underwear in department stores. At Dick's, the sales people know to leave you alone when you're in the Under Armour section...especially the underwear section. And don't even think of trying them on in the fitting room because that's just gross. Sales are final for crotch gear so know your damn size. Otherwise, only buy one pair initially and gauge accordingly for your next visit. read more

Up til now, my excitement has been limited to Vietnamese pho noodle places or Korean restaurants named Young Dong. But now my prayers have been answered with the coming of Dick's (see, I have started it already). Dick's made their entry into CA partly through an acquisition of another sporting goods chain, if you will recall, named Chick's. This is infamously referred to in the business world as the Chick's with Dick's Merger. So, thus an additional competitive force came to challenge the dominance of Sports Authority, REI, and Sports Chalet. One of the ways they draw you in is to get you to sign up for a discount card that rewards you for loyalty to Dick's.Unfortunately, the general trend of these giant sports stores has been to focus more on apparel, as they produce greater profit per square foot of retail space. I think that strategy will ultimately bring about the demise of the sporting goods super store. Needless to say, the selection at Dick's is paltry, even puny. There is hardly anyone around to ask for help, and when you do find someone, they are hardly of any help. I have gone to some of the other Dick's on the East Coast and they tend to be far better, both in selection and in size. Yes, I said it...East Coast Dick's are bigger. read more

I needed a new pair of flip-flops so popped into the newly converted Dick's in Yorba Linda. As I browsed, pairs of swim trunks and running shoes caught my eye. However, I desperately needed flip-flops - Havaianas specifically. I found them - and there was a special deal! Buy one, get one free. I was on it. I only found one pair my size in a color other than what I was looking for. No problem - that would be my "free" pair. I turned around and found a sales associate leaning up against a display, talking with another associate. I asked him if there were any more in my size. He said he would look... But I noticed he went off in a direction other than the stock room. About 5 minutes later he said he would go check in back. He disappeared again. He came back and said there were no more. I asked him how I would get my second pair of sandals in my size to take advantage of the sale. He turned me over to someone else and now the second associate went back to look. He came out and told me they didn't have my size. I asked him how I would be able to take advantage of the sale. Rather than answer my question, he chose to tell me how they had plenty all weekend and that the inventory was low because of the sale. I asked again how I could get 2 pairs in my size. He suggested I go to another store. Or, his next suggestion, I buy a second pair for someone else. All I wanted to hear was they could a) backorder the item and call me when it arrives or b) give me 1/2 off the pair in my hands. But, they did neither and gave me no incentive to make the purchase. I am the regional recruiter for a major retailer with a reputation grounded in exceptional customer service. As such, I expect to be treated as we would treat our customers. I walked out, and will not walk back in again. Dick's walked a sale over $20 and poor salesmanship and customer service. This location just opened in place of the long-time Chick's which I grew up with. I will not be back. read more

Well, I like the store overall, and the merchandise is awesome, but the management hasn't figured out the concept having more than one register open at a time.
