We have been long time Dick's customers raising two boys who compete in several sports. We bought a $300 baseball bat several months ago. Theresa, the Assistant Manager, would not let us use a $10 off coupon off a pair of Nike running shoes because the price was $2 short. She said she was the MOD on Sundays and would not give us the discount. What a waste of our time shopping at Dick's! I hardly think $2 is worth loosing a customer over. We actually got a pair of Nike running shoes at Big 5 for $27 less. Score for us, Loss for them. read more

My mother in law insists I learn how to swim so I can teach the babies.. so we headed over to Dicks to get me a life vest. Like the other yelper said, it was mostly clothes for these sports... really only the areas lining the walls had actual sport stuff.. We got a nice looking life vest.. Funny story tho... there was this guy who said he just bought a $25,000 boat, but yet he was arguing with the workers about how just the previous week he paid $10 less for the life vest... so he wanted them to match the price... I went in for some hand warmers. Not a single person acknowledged me as I walked in. Walked around the store 3 times before I found someone to ask where they might be located. He gave me the wrong information so I walked around once again and found the same guy and asked if someone could just show me where they are. As soon as I asked that, he had a major attitude and walked so fast I could barely keep up. Like slow down. Don't treat paying customers like they're just an annoyance. It would have been helpful if someone was walking around asking people if they were finding things. He was so judgemental too. I walked up to the counter to pay and then I see 4 employees behind the counter having a personal conversation and not doing anything! A little customer service and someone just walking around to help would have made a huge difference. read more

Don't call and ask for anything at all, they are just a bunch of dicks. Yelp must get some ad dollars from dicks sporting goods so they have asked me to expand on my comments. I don't thing anyone there knows anything about sports, so don't look for help. Go online. Justbats are great for baseball and cheap bats are at home run park next to knotts theme park, and are very helpful and close. read more

A good store to buy your supplies. the have a fairly large selection. I highly recommend their custom shop where they can make, re-grip, or alter clubs to your specific need butt service is very slow and hard to find someone. not many places near mean for golf or tennis and this is only option close by. read more

When in here to find a rain jacket a few days ago and the customer service was terrible. No one wanted to help me. One of the guys who was "pretending" to do something in the shoe department couldn't even show me where the jackets were. He just pointed and went back on his cell phone. I asked another girl and she said she was on break so after that I just walked out. I will never come back. read more

Dick's is located in the back side of the Savi Ranch Shopping Center and is next to Michael's and Bed, Bath, & Beyond. It's about the size of a large Sport Chalet and they have a decent selection of various sports equipment and apparel. They could do a little better job of organizing the inventory because a lot of the softball gloves were all mixed up in the display racks. The staff is not quite as knowledgeable as the one in Newport Beach but they are helpful. I got some Adidas softball cleats that were on sale for $29.99 and had a $10 coupon, so I got it for only $19.99. And my friend got a couple boxes of no name golf balls for only $6 on sale too. read more

This is for their online store but I can't find where to review it! It really upsets me that my first order of Cubs gear came in two plus weeks later and After the World Series was over!!!! Then my next set of sweaters one gets cancelled!!!! They send me a 15% off coupon! Why would I want to buy anything else, 15% off is supposed to make it better?!? The store is always clean and not overly stocked so, we can walk around just fine. I also love that they accept most competitor coupons. They will so, give you a price adjustment if you just purchased something and it goes on sale. I'm not sure if it's within 7 days or not. I really enjoy going to Dicks Sporting Goods in Savi Ranch (Yorba Linda). This location is my go to since it is the closest to my homebase. The previous time I went was centered around me purchasing a percussion massager. Upon arrival I figured I'd take a quick stroll around my favorite departments, to see and learn if there was any other new product that had been made available. To gather details, product names, pricing and compare with other providers to assist me with preparing a future budget for any apparel and fitness accessories. Now, as I was knick knacking throughout the store I noticed an employee that was clicking on all cylinders, carrying clothing items this way, organizing them and then carrying other articles in another direction and doing the same. I truly admire a hard work ethic in any individual across any spectrum! When I was finalizing my browsing this same employee was hustling by and I asked her where did they have the percussion massager? She politely responded with the answer, I thanked her for her assistance and I went over to where they were located. The PM was in a glass shelving with key access only so I placed myself in line in which I was the third. That's when I noticed the same employee that assisted me, going behind a register, opened it and alleviated traffic. She called over the next in line customer, sooner than later I was next, and yes, guess who yup the MVP called me, once I was at the register I asked for the Percussion Massager. She grabbed one, placed it on the counter, removed the safety lock off the box, asked all the correct questions during the checkout process regarding my account and the receipt and answered all my questions regarding the product. Making it a smooth and effective transaction! A superb visit to Dicks Sporting Goods. Allison you are the MVP! Keep up the phenomenal work, without labor nothing prospers! Just had the worst shopping experience ever at Dick's YL. Shopped for 2 hrs & went to pay with an AYSO 30 off coupon & they did not honor it. Store manager Susan had me wait another 15 min at counter while she contacted her supervisor & she never returned. Sport chalet & sports authority have much better customer service. I bought my son a Rawlings pro glove not at dicks sporting goods but somewhere else. After buying it the glove was way to much for my son to break in. We were super bummed because he didn't want to even try to use it to break it in. After taking it to 3 other places to get it steamed and to get a break in service done on it, it still never would be enough for my son to even close. We finally happened to be in yl and I thought trying one more time to get it steamed might help. I'm so glad we came to this location. I felt the guy who helped us out made it his personal mission to get this glove useable for my son. He ended up having us leave the glove over night so that he could continue to work on it. After we were able to pick it up my son was soo happy to finally be able to use his new glove. He has started using it for all his training and practices. Thank you again. read more

I am so impressed with the customer service here. It's really hard to find managers that truly care about their customers these days. I live about 45 minutes away from this location but I needed a particular cleat for my son. I did an online order and went to go pick it up the same day. It was very quick and easy. However when I got home I realized that they forgot to take the security tag off the shoes. I was not wanting to drive another 45 minutes back there so I called the manager. I spoke to Richard and he had the best customer service. He apologized and he even said I see the area code you're calling from do you happen to be close to Chino Hills or Upland stores, because I know both of the managers there. I happen to be only 10 minutes away from there. He told me he would call over there and have them take care of it for me and I'll top of that would give me a $15 discount off the shoes just for the inconvenience of having to go there. Honestly I was so surprised because he made a situation that could be very frustrating for me into a good experience. Thank you for taking the time to care about your customers! I bought a kayak from dicks 2 weeks ago with a 3 month return policy. I had taken it out only one time they told me they can't take it back because it was used. How am I supposed to know how the kayak handles without using it. Good luck to anyone trying to return something here. They might as well take there 3 month return of there receipt. I didn't want to like this place at first. I miss Chicks, it was what I grew up with - it is what I knew. But time change...Dicks is big and there is a lot going on. I come here often for gifts for family, my boys and stuff for myself. It is hard to find help if you really need it but for the most part, you can find what you need on your own, Lots of price points, lots of sales and bonuses several times a year if you have a loyalty card. read more

Went in to purchase my twin boys a couple certified youth football gloves, asked a women standing near the entrance. She seemed friendly at first but when she radioed an associate she walked us to the football section and was not that familiar or educated about the products offered or what is certified for pop Warner football and when my sons opened their mouths trying to help her out suggesting she snapped! I was on her side at first because yes my sons feel they are entitled! I get it. But still kids need a little break we as parents are hard on them enough. Getting them out of the house off the xboxone is a venture and a feat all by itself. Relying on your team as we enter your establishment should be a treat and their experience should be inviting. Hence why your yelp reviews are so bad! Your team needs to be treated to a more positive education. Its sad why most people fo things on line. A sad day for me as a Dick's sporting goods consumer. This review is specifically for the ski and snowboard service & repair section of the store. I dropped off a pair of skis to have bindings mounted and was told turn around time was 24 hours. GREAT! I was leaving in two days so that would give me enough time for the work to be done and get the skis for my trip. When I went to pick up the skis 36 hours later, they were not ready due to a missing jig (no one called to let me know) and therefore offered to comp me ski rental for the weekend and that the labor would be discounted. I was assured my skis would be ready when I returned from my weekend trip. Came back to return the rentals 3 days later and guess what, my skis are still not ready and no one knows whats up. I end up waiting for a while and am told they should have the jig in a few days. So I give them about a week. Still no phone calls. Figure that's more than enough time to mount them as the original estimate was 24 hours. On my 3rd trip the skis are again not ready and again no one knows whats going on. Still no phone calls. The guys says to me ... how about Thursday? Great, I say knowing that would leave a few days for my next trip if they screw it up again for me to recover. I arrived tonight which was Thursday and again. Not ready. No phone call. Nothing. When I get to the store the guy is frantically trying to figure out whats going on and ends up informing me that the jig was missing and the secret 'technician' told 'someone' at the store but of course never called me. So here we are 21 days after what was supposed to be a 24 hour job with no progress, no updates, no calls. If you need your skis or snowboard serviced, you'd be better looking elsewhere. read more

Dick's Sporting Goods in Yorba Linda is a clean environment with a huge selection of sporting goods available. The concept for the store is great, probably the best in the business..... However, the customer service at this store is very poor. I have been in 2 or 3 times now to buy shoes, etc. and the staff is seemingly nonexistent. Aside from the 1 or 2 cashiers that stay busy at their registers, there has literally been no one else available for assistance in the store. Every time I have visited this store, I have walked in expecting to purchase between $400- $600 worth of sporting goods... To date, I have not spent a dime, simply because I haven't been able to find help. It's too bad because the store itself is great. read more
