Went in for a haircut. Mia was my hair stylist. She was amazing! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she did it exactly how I wanted it! I've been a customer of DiClemente for about 4 years, in particular the owner's- George. I just have to say that my last visit that was about year ago, was the worst experience I've ever had. I have- or rather had, thick long wavy hair. I went in wanting a different look as I often do about 2x a year and I asked George to make me lighter. I don't know what he put in my hair but my hair was fried and and falling off. He tried to hide the evidence behind my back but I was observing what was going on and what was being left on the brush, he kept cleaning it as to not have me see. My hair was literally breaking off. I brought up my concerns but told it was normal and he gave me a deep conditioner for free as if that was going to solve the problem. Plus I might add that he scheduled me too tight with the next customer and I felt he was in such a hurry that I just offered to leave without my hair being completely styled yet 100% charged for it, twice. LOVE this salon!! I've been looking for a good salon for awhile now and despite having an account at Wescom and going to Angelas Dental next door, I never really noticed there was a salon here. Weird I know. I stopped by last minute really late at night and they were closed. However, the woman inside saw me at the door, unlocked it, let me in and scheduled me for an appointment the next morning with her husband George (they are the owners). She was so nice and welcoming even though it was after hours and they had locked up for the night. It was the kind of thing that I do for my own customers. I hate disappointing people. I came in the next day in a huge rush. I told George that I needed to be cut and styled in 45 minutes because I had to take my daughter to school. I asked if he could do it (and told him not to worry about it if he could only fit in the cut) and he assured me he could get me out in time. He took my coat, welcomed me to his salon... it was kind of like going to someones house instead of a business. It was that kind of hospitality. Very warm and genuine like they truly are happy that you are there. It started off on the right foot- he had some great suggestions for my hair to frame my face and give it some body in the crown while still being the length I want in the style I want. We chatted the whole time- super nice guy. He and his wife have owned the shop for 6 years. The place was packed and everybody that works there smiled and greeted me several times. When he spun me around in the chair I was so happy! He did such a great job with my cut and style. I was literally thrilled with it, couldn't stop smiling. That night was my husband's birthday party and my husband kept telling me how great I looked! The cut and styling was $50 and worth every penny. I gave him a 30% tip and sent cupcakes over too. Such a great talented guy and really a wonderful family owned business. I am so excited to have a salon like this so close to home. I would drive an hour for this place in a heart beat. Wonderful hair salon! Need I say more? George is "The Hair Whisperer", he understands hair texture and he is great about re-directing you to what works for your hair. I have visited George's salon chair for almost 7 years and I will never leave- sorry George! Before meeting DiClemente Salon I would always leave hair salons devastated and I cried bitter tears in my car, I was never happy and felt the stylists did not understand my hair or personality. Some people may think it is shallow to put so much emphasis on a hair style, but having the right haircut can change a woman's life. Wow, I cant say enough about this place! Well for starters I was referred to this salon by my stepmom, she has been going there forever. I have been going since I was a junior in high school (about 5 years) and I have never left unsatisfied. I get my hair cut and colored by Yolanda. I have very thin hair and she cut and colored it so it looked full and healthy for months. I also like going from dark brown to light blonde every 6 months or so and she does the transition nice without killing my hair. She also waxed my eyebrows everytime I went in and needless to say I wont let anyone else touch them! For my junior prom George did my hair and it was a very beautiful style and something I would have never thought to do! No other girl at my prom had the same hair do as me. It was very elegant and trendy at the same time. For my winter formal senior year Mandy did my hair and it was exactly how I asked for it to be done- loved it. So, in short, this is a great salon to get a simple cut and color or for any type of special occasion updos. I made an appointment with George and he knew exactly what I wanted and made me looklike what I had envisioned. Mind reader perhaps? I came in with one major complaint about my hair...it's TOO heavy and it makes my scalp sore. But I dont want to get rid of the length as its healthy. A few hours later he granted all my wishes at a pretty steep price (almost 200 gahh. Where I normally pay 100 in LA for also superb service) but, i know my hair (lower back length with more than double the quantity of hair) is double the work than most gal's. Tuesday I had the pleasure of meeting Taylor Hood at DiClemente and having my hair made over. She listened to my ideas and together we choose a color to highlight my hair. My haircut was exactly what I wanted and looks great styled or just natural. I was super relaxed the entire time and was able to sit back, close my eyes and just enjoy getting my hair done without all the extra filler talk, I really appreciated that. Lemon/lime disaster. Not at all happy with the finished product. My daughter was very excited to finally get her hair done and she saved several paychecks to be able to get her hair done. She wanted a dark green dye job instead her hair replicated the joker. She was very upset that she paid $320. And she left the salon very dissatisfied. We have been to the salon before and received hair cuts by Hailey B and we loved it. My daughter was not happy with the results of Taylor H. And felt that the stylist Taylor was very disinterested in working on her hair. I feel a refund or partial refund is necessary. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but I LOVE THIS HAIR SALON!!! I'm really happy with my experience here! Jenny is AMAZING! She understands what you want from your haircut and makes it look better than what you had envisioned. Plus, she's pretty awesome to talk to. After my appointment with Jenny, my hair is always so shiny, bouncy and full of life. I always get compliments from my friends after I get my hair cut by her. Everyone in the salon is super sweet and makes your whole experience worthwhile. My mom came into the salon with me and they didn't make her leave (like other places I have been too), and were very welcoming. George is "Shear Genius"!!! Extremely personable AND talented. I have very fine hair. Got it cut short; to my jawline, with layering highlighting my cheek bones. The layers blended almost if not perfectly. And I look like I have more than twice as much hair than I actually do. I've gotten so many complements! I can only speak for my experience in July 2021 with one stylist, by the name of Taylor and perhaps she was just having a bad day, but I will say that I felt so much uncomfortability in the first 10 minutes of my appointment I considered walking out. I needed a last minute blowout and was happy to find a stylist here with availability for the same day. It's not essential, but I'm used to a little bit of conversation with my stylist and she never said a word to me besides when she greeted me. After she washed my hair in silence and mumbled which chair I should go to, she began detangling my very thick/curly hair. In the mirror, I could see a displeased look on her face. At the time of this appointment, I was 19 and unsure of what to do with a stylist who was relaying nothing, but displeasure I apologized. I apologized for my hair's texture and thickness, explaining that I had forgotten to mention when booking that it could sometimes be more times consuming that other heads of hair. I smiled and tried to make light of my "mistake" and all Taylor could do was roll her eyes saying "it's definitely something we should know" At the time of my appointment, I was 19 and as a young girl going to a place to feel beautiful, I instead felt so small. I felt ashamed and wanted so badly to stop her, but as the service continued, I felt it best to not cause a scene. She completed my blowout and I paid. When I went home, I was visibly upset and as I went over the experience my parents saw how hurt I was. It seems the displeasure of working with certain hair types is not uncommon with Taylor based on other reviews. Certain hair types have association with certain races (ones that this stylist wasn't) bullying or mistreatment for my hair type isn't something I'm unfamiliar with, but in my experience it mostly came from the boys in my middle school LOL very strange for myself and others to endure it from a "professional"it would seem to me we were all treated differently for things out of our control. Someone who cannot work with all hair types or even provide good customer service on their worst days (if that was the case) ruined an entire salon for me. read more

So my first time going in the salon was pretty great experience. I felt very welcome and felt the salon was very professional and positive. I was only 17 at the time and was working two jobs and i needed some relaxing time and to treat myself because I'm either at work or school. I went September of 2018 with stylist named Taylor and told her I wanted the brown to grey ombré and she told me that we will have to get my hair super light and bleach then do grey so I listen and she made me very comfortable and relax and in the pictures you can see we bleach it two times before we could add grey in there. 2nd time it was October right before my 18th birthday in 2018 I stick with Taylor and the experience was yet again great no issues and I love her and having her do my hair. Then last time (but not really because i will always be going there) we finally did Grey and I absolutely love it and I recommend if your gonna do a color like that or any bright funky color to get the shampoo that specializes in the colors. To get the touch ups it's only 45 for at least my hair stylist Taylor every time I need to touch up the grey it's 45 but of course I'll tip her so keep that in mind with the price. Great experience they and Taylor helped make my hair took great and made my beginning of adulthood great because this is what I've been wanting and I like the new look on meI recommend Taylor she a sweet person and never gives up on what you wanna do with your hair no matter how long it takes read more

I came here because of the good reviews but I, personally, had a terrible experience. I made my appointment about a week in advance and was in contact with Hayley, the stylist they set me up with, up until my appointment I was sending her pictures of the color, style, and cut that I wanted. When I got to the appointment, I showed her my example pics again and she seemed to act like she had a clear understanding of what I wanted. (soft balayage like more of a light brown than a blonde, and then short choppy layers) she ended up giving me straight up blonde highlights and then asked how I wanted it cut again and when I told her short and choppy she said she didn't want to cut off everything she just dyed ... when I had made all that I wanted clear to begin with. I'm super shy and got really nervous and didn't have it in me to say anything, so I acted like I loved it but I was so disappointed by everything. And even if I did, I felt like it was already done and there was no fixing it :/ it was so bad that when I went back to work my boss asked me if I tried dying it myself to save money. I ended up cutting all my hair off at home a week later because I hated the length and the color. I paid $160 plus tip for something I hated. I regret ever coming here read more

I only get my hair done once a year, I'm a natural blonde and my hair is fine. Since coming to DiClemente, I don't feel shy about keeping my hair hippy style. I get my once a year highlights by Hayley and she's always awesome. She never pressures me to do more with my hair and she doesn't take off length. I recently moved to the AV and needed a new stylist. I have very long hair and needed to find a salon that would not nag me to cut every time I went to get my color done. After many phone calls with the "if it needs to be cut we will always recommend and encourage it" I found Diclemente. The receptionist was very professional and friendly assuring me that if I didn't want my hair cut, they would not push it. My appointment was with Gwen. She is absolutely the best! We discussed my color and Gwen was able to mix the most awesome color I have every had! And NOT ONE WORD about cutting or even trimming after I told her that I would let her know when I wanted it trimmed and how much. The first place I stopped after leaving the salon I got compliments about my hair and they have continued for the past two days! Please bear with this review. the first part may not make a lot of sense, but it IS a big part of the story. thanks! I've had a lot of disappointing hair appointments. The past umpteen years, I lucked into two of the best hair stylists I've ever had, at the cost cutters corner Tierra subida/ lake elizabeth, by albertsons. I have weird hair. Thick, straight. & there was only one cut in my whole life that even _I_ felt good in. i was an ice skater-- not a champion, but i worked hard. oddly enough, as the '76 olymics approached, it turned out one of my coaches (we used to call them our "Pros") had been dorothy hamill's first teacher/coach/pro. i remember being terribly sick, and my mom & i watching the olympics in my folk's bed, while my dad was gone on business. i'd already decided ice skating was what i wanted to do more than ANYTHING, but in those days, figures were most of your points. i sucked at figures, but i was wild/crazy about freestyle. TMI. but of course all of Ms. Barbara Taplin's students watched every minute of skating we could, especially dorothy and her transformation from local legend to olympic medalist. BACK ON TOPIC: i had the hair. finally found somebody that could do the cut, and i wore that style from '76 until, i think, '80. of course everybody cut it slightly different, and i walked out of salon's with pure horror (like the week before sr. pix?), so, i'm older, hair still thick and straight, but actually wore it "spiky" for a few years, had it fused together by bad perms, you name it. SO, when my friend @ cost cutters when out on maternity leave, we had been working on going back to my favorite wedge. with 2 kids in diapers, of course she couldn't cut my hair, and I CAME TO YELP looking for a good stylist. i saw di clemente had pretty good reviews, except for one stylist (i was told) no longer worked there. i knew i wanted someone close to my age, who remembered the original wedge cut, designed for Ms. hamill byYusuke Suga, a hair designer who was originally from Japan, who cut her hair the night before she left for europe (all this is available on google). besides, i wore the damn hair for years, i downloaded everything i could find, including the "how to", pictures, 4 or 5 pages of print-out. di clementi got real good reviews, so i called, and the reception girl was VERY nice, i explaned my hairstyle was old, i wanted someone who might remember the cut. we talked for a long time, i was VERY clear on how particular i was, and she set me iup (a week later) for a haircut w/ the owner ( i believe it's husband & wife), a woman about my age, with experience, would take care of me, etc. with trepidation, i took ALL my print-outs, including HOW TO PRODUCE THE CUT. NOW, THE REVIEW: I arrived for my appiontment, asked for the stylst i'd been booked with (someone said' THE OWNER?" i replied that i didn't know, this was the name i was given, she was supposed to have some knowledge of the hair-style i wanted (you skeptics? i'd been growing my hair just for this particlar cut. i even had my HS senior portait). i was THEN informed that the owner/stylest was too busy and (i'm pretty sure her name was Hailey, or some variation) would be doing me. pulling out my print-outs, (she was younger than i, something i specifically did not want) and proceeded to ask me questions i couldn't anser, 30+ years after the fact. she may have glanced at my pictures, instructions, but she was already peevish that i expected to have an appointment with the person i booked with. THE WORST OF IT; her claims of "oh, it's a "fairy"! i worked with (or for, or whatever) vidal sassoon, & he invented the cut. UM, NO! (and she finally said she'd studied (i can't quote this for sure, but i believe she went to V.S. beauty school)after correcting her, she became rude, snide, and full of herself. i've had some pretty bad haircuts in my day, but even now, 3 months later, you can tell what a horrible haircut it was. stupidly i tipped her. she was un-friendly, un-caring, and a snob -i have NEVER been impressed by vidal sassoon, and i taught swimming with the daughter of a beauty school (that has become HUGE) and i heard stories back then. i'm sure that there are some good stylists at this shop. but if i make an appointment with someone, i expect that someone to take care of me, especially when i ask specifically for someone who is familiar with the cut. a hairstyle (i'm NOT a stylest. i expect those trained as such to be professional. i barely got out of there before bursting into tears. 2 weeks before we left for vacation, yet. Good luck, folks. oh, and, HAILEY: see above. i DIDN'T ask for a "fairy" from vidal sassoon. i wanted a wedge. might also do you some good to find out who DOROTHY HAMILL is (3/4 done she asked who she was). After years of not doing anything to my hair other than a regular trim, I decided it was time to add some color! After doing some research, I decided to stop by DiClemente and get it done by Hayley. She accommodated me early on a Saturday morning which I was grateful for because I had a busy schedule that week! I showed her a picture of what I was looking for which was a golden ombre with some highlights. She did an amazing job, and even added some lovely face framing highlights. Overall I was really happy with the look because I love being a brunette but the color gave my hair new dimension. She listened to what I wanted and did a great job of styling my hair after.
