Avoid Diehl Subaru of Massillon. What should have been a straightforward repair turned into repeated misdiagnoses, failed fixes, and a significantly worse outcome than when I brought the vehicle in. This was not a one-off mistake. It was a pattern. They have taken zero responsibility for the failures. Multiple attempts to contact them have gone unanswered. When issues escalated, they simply stopped engaging. Even more concerning, there were repeated attempts to overcharge the insurance company, which raises serious questions about how they conduct business. There was no accountability, no urgency, and no ownership at any point in the process. Just poor work, poor communication, and complete disregard for the customer once problems became apparent. This place is a disaster. I have no confidence in their diagnostics, their repairs, or their integrity. I live in Cleveland, but when I am searching for a new car I talk to dealers from Buffalo to Chicago. I have been doing this for years and I can honestly say the dealers in smaller towns will give you the best deal, if you are willing to travel. Two weeks ago I contacted over 20 dealers and by far the best deal and the nicest people were Diehl in Massillon. Thorne Silvius was great as was Tim Smith the sales manager. No bullshit, no games. Their pricing was excellent and they were very easy to deal with. I drove down there, the car was ready, they got me through finance fast and away I went in a new Outback. Jordan helped us find the perfect car in our price range. Everyone else who helped us seemed knowledgeable as well. I am giving one star though because of many reasons. We purchased the car on April 26. Our temp tags expired before we got the memorandum title. I had called diehl and spoke to Tyler 5 days before it expired. Tyler had informed me that capital one(the bank we got the loan through) had approved it already and diehl just didn't send it yet but he would do so right away. Which begs the question, if I didn't call would they have ever sent it out?He never got back with me. Mind you I called first thing early in the morning shortly after they opened. Tyler did try and call me at 8:30 at night though but I was about to go to bed. So I called the next morning and spoke to a lady in finance who told me it was sent out on June 6th when I called about it. A week goes by and nothing(we live just 40 miles away). The temporary plates expired June 10th so my boyfriend called about it again on June 13 and spoke to a manager who deals with international and out of state sales since it was the only manager he could get ahold of. She informed him that they could send a new temporary plate to his email and we could print it out and how she has had to do that for multiple people. Almost like this kind of thing happens all the time. Well later that day my boyfriend received a call saying that they can't issue a new temporary plate and there was nothing they could do. The guy who told him this gave him a lot of attitude about it saying this just happens. It doesn't. I know multiple people who got a new car and got their memorandum title within 2-3 weeks. Fast forward to June 16, still no title. Still have expired temporary plates on my new car that has been sitting in the driveway now for 6 days. They left my boyfriend a voice mail saying it was sent out on may 10. Which is hard to believe. We have been told 2 different dates at this point of the memorandum title being sent to us (May 10, and June 6)and still have not received it as of June 17. So my boyfriend went to the title office to try and get it but he was informed his name isn't even on the title, it's just mine. We were told by diehl that both of our names would be on the title. So they lied to us again. I do not recommend buying from diehl because they will give you free water bottles and a cooler bag but not your memorandum title. read more

He was outstanding in assisting me with any/all questions I had concerning my new car. He patiently talked me through all the amenities this car has to offer. 3 month later: No title to my car. I purchased a certified used subaru (2017) in early September 2019 from Waikem Subaru. I thought the process went very smoothly until it was time to get the title. It is now 3 months later. I still do not have the title to the car. I have called them several times and there is always a reason why I do not have it. Unless I call them, they seem lax in following up. My advice to you is not to purchase a used subaru from Waikem unless the title is present and turned over at the time of the transaction. read more

This dealer is only willing to do business with people that they feel are old enough to buy a car. My son just turned 18 several weeks ago, and has planned financially for years to buy a new Subaru. Having the money to purchase a new car, he visited several dealers today. He told the salesman he was 18 to avoid any possible issues. I think its realistic that most people test drive a car they plan on purchasing. Dan Auman refused a test drive, and chuckled at the request. He was only able to sit in the car. Waikem must be doing very well to turn away paying customers. This was the only Subaru Dealer in the area to refuse him a test drive. Dan in the state of Ohio you can buy a car at 18, I guess just not from you. Some young men are responsible. I want to thank you for the valuable lesson you taught him about free enterprise. Great place, would totally recommend. Aggressive pricing right up front, zero-hassle completely transparent sales experience. Every person, including the owner, will give you their real personal cell phone and email - nobody has anything to hide. They all actually enjoy their jobs and it shows. Even if you live a little further away, it's totally worth the drive to Massillon for a pleasant experience (and save some money too). First of all, Waikem DID NOT SEND MY REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT BACK! That is a lie as of today. It has been a month since they said they would send me a check by mail. Waikem did not lower the price on the car. The price of the car was on the contract from 3 months prior. Waikem and I had NEVER discussed the payment amount at all. We discussed the selling price of the car and the trade in value of my truck, that's it. I had planned on going through my bank for financing, not Waikem, so why would I discuss a payment amount with them? The price of the car was Waikems guaranteed price through Consumer Reports/TrueCar pricing. That price had gone up significantly since my contract, from $31,745 to $32,645 at the time the car was arriving. Waikem guys figured they would lowball my trade value to make extra money and if I didn't like it they would have no problem selling it to someone else for more money. The WRX model is a popular selling car. Incidentally, the car sold before it even arrived on the lot. I saw that Waikem had listed it on AutoTrader. It was on there for 2 days and then disappeared 2 days before the car arrived on the lot. I'm betting they did pretty well on the sale of it. I used Kelly Blue book values, Edmunds car values, Black Book Car values, and NADA Guide values. The numbers you get from these sites are for your area when you enter your zip code. Not just California. All of them were about the same and much higher than what the salesmen were telling me. I do my homework instead of trusting what car dealers tell me. That's why these sites are there. It really is sad, that this is how many car dealers operate. To me, it seems like are no ethics at all, the only thing that matters is how much cash they can squeeze out of each and every customer. Like I said before, I'm disgusted with Waikem Subaru. It's hard to believe how dirty people can be. __________________________________________________________________ I m 38 years old. I ve bought quite a few cars in my life and I had the worst car buying experience I ve ever had at Waikem Subaru. I didn t care much for any of the sales people there, but after shopping around, negotiating, and making them honor their TrueCar price, they ended up with the best price in my area. After more negotiating, we got to a decent amount for my trade, a 2011 Nissan Frontier. I went ahead and ordered a new car from them. 3 months go by and they call and say my car will be delivered in about 2 weeks. I was very happy until they re-evaluated my trade in. Rick Ballas told me it was going to be $1200 less than it was when I ordered my new car 3 months prior. When I said what? in disbelief, he tried to tell me that my 2.5 year old truck was depreciating at $500 a month. I just laughed in disbelief at the nerve of the guy. Nothing had changed with the truck except a few hundred miles on the odometer. Book value was still $1200-1400 more than their new offer. I checked TrueCar price on the car I ordered again and found out that it had gone up about $900 in selling price. So now I either take their lowball offer or go somewhere else and pay more money. Either way, I lose. They know this and couldn t care less because the car I ordered is very popular (a WRX) and they know they can sell it to the next guy at a higher price than my contract. What they are doing isn t illegal, but I find it unethical. I told them that I wanted my refundable deposit back and I wasn t buying from them. I m so mad and disgusted with them and there isn t a thing I can do about it except write this review about the horrible experience with them. I m expecting to have to take them to small claims court to get my refundable deposit back as well. Response from the ownerin the last week We lowered the price of the car to meet the depreciation in your trade in to keep your payment the same that we had agreed on in the first place. Often times kelly blue book used car prices are extremely inaccurate because they use values directly from California and rarely apply in our Ohio market. We also returned your deposit by mail when you requested it. We are sorry that we could not come to agree upon terms for your Subaru WRX. I recently purchased a 2018 Subaru Forester from Waikm and I could not be happier. After seeing the car at the Cleveland Auto Show, I was very specific as to what I wanted. I inquired about the car through Waikem's website and Vesper Tyler got back to me quickly with a price and was very helpful in getting a test drive set up. Although the car I wanted was "in transit," I was able to test drive the same model in a different color. Dan Aumen, our salesman, was so helpful. He was and is ready and willing to answer any questions. We put a deposit down on the car and when the car was in danger of not arriving in time for our vacation, the sales manager and Dan were quick to communicate and ensure that it would be there for us to take delivery. This is our first Subaru and we are loving it. I cannot say enough good things about the entire experience from my initial inquiry, through financing, to Dan's help with the entire delivery. Waikem Subaru is the most frustrating dealership to try to purchase a vehicle from. In early November I found a Subaru Outback listed for $23000 on their site. I contacted them and I offered lower, they countered with $22300. I was really hopeful at this point especially given some of the reviews. I asked if that was out the door and they said they need $284.50 extra for fees so the price would be $22584.50. Two and a half weeks later I was still looking online and I saw that they still had the vehicle I was interested in but now it is listed for $22000. The salesperson never contacted me letting me know the price dropped, he said he didn't know it had been lowered. I think someone interested in selling a car would take note of these thinks and keep the perspective buyers up to date with the information. I contacted the same salesperson and mentioned what I saw online and again asked if it would be $22000 out the door. He said they would still need the extra $284.50. I live 7 hours away and was willing to commit to buying it at $22000 sight unseen. His comment was that they would not sell the vehicle for less than $22000 (I wasn't asking them to) and it would go to auction if it doesn't sell for $22000. Really, they would rather send a car to auction then have a satisfied customer for a mere $284.50? Not only that but online you can request an e-price and the person said the e-price is $21,900 and that they would probably be willing to deal since it was a pre-owned car. Well, they weren't willing to deal with me. My husband called to see if there was someone he could talk to about the situation and at first he was hopeful by the response he got from the person who answered the phone. She said she didn't think it was handled very well and would have someone call him back. It has been three days and no phone call back. This was a terrible experience and wouldn't recommend wasting your time with this dealership. read more
