The store is more like a convenience store, with the small generalized selection and slightly higher prices, than a grocery store. However, it's one of a very few options in Bodega Bay. We bought some basics - eggs, bread, and chips - and skipped the prepared foods and pizza which looked like it had been sitting out a little while. If you're in the area and need some staples, it's fine. If you have time or are picky, you're probably better off visiting a larger store somewhere else. read more

First off they have the cutest sweatshirts and all the supplies needed to make s'mores! Second my daughter is the one that had her sweatshirt stolen by some creeps that broke into our car in San Francisco! She was devastated as this was her new favorite sweatshirt! We weren't sure what to do as we knew we got it from a local market. My Aunt said I will call and see what I can do...I am so thankful for how nice they were and immediately found and sent off a new sweatshirt for her! She is more than excited for her new sweatshirt as there were some things we can not replace from the robbery but this was not one! The store is definitely great for its convenient purposes, it offers a lot and when you're coming from out of town like we did- we were able to grab ice and coals, because we spaced on bringing it. The location is very ideal and the view is beautiful. The three stars is because the parking is terrible, the sign to the place should be bigger and advertised a lot better. The building seemed to be extremely old, they are definitely in need of a remodel. The place is average with average service. I will come here again if I had too and or convenient. read more

This store is just THE BEST! My niece had her new Bodega Bay sweatshirt stolen and I asked the owner, Gary, to send me a new one as she so loved it! I'm a resident, and you have to consider that this town doesn't even have a bank. In the winter, this store stays open even though the town might be deserted. I am sooo thankful that they are here. Also, the wine is reasonably priced with a good selection. THANK YOU! read more

I got to know the people and the place a bit when I was on a get-away and grew to love this small sweet place! I love to do business with small, local people that care about the customer. Yes, this is a general store packed full of stuff you may need. And, yes, if the kids are clamoring for beach food, you will find pizza and burgers and fries and all of that stuff. But, the reason I always check in at Diekmann's when I'm driving through Bodega Bay is because they will occasionally offer some incredible Indian food. Yes, you read that right! My favorite is their lamb curry. If they're serving up Eastern treats, they will announce that fact on their chalkboard sign in the parking lot, so, if you're driving through, keep your eyes open for it. read more

Well stocked for a small grocery store, but hey, they also had a decent pizza and chicken curry. Found what I wanted to cook for breakfast back at the house in tomorrow morning, but also picked up a very decent cooked to order pizza and their special chicken curry take out. We stopped here for an inexpensive lunch. There was mainly sandwiches and pizza. We all had sandwiches and they were very good. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only downfall was that there was no tables to eat at. It would be great if they could put a picnic bench outside. We suggest you pickup lunch first then go to one of the beaches or parks to eat. This lil place is great! The young man that helped me at the register a few weekends ago was so nice and helpfull. They have taffey here too! After the other stores close, they seem to close early on sundays, this place is open and has them in little bags :) this store is a great stop while out enjoying the ocean. read more

Good little store for basic needs and, like many others have written, they have a little bit of everything. VERY expensive so if you can shop in advance, I'd say do it. We did and were very happy about that. Parking was easy during the week. I imagine it being more difficult at the weekend. read more

It has been a few years since I have been in this area. So we stopped at the store which used to be well stocked, welcoming and full of interesting items. My friend and I were running low on gas. Since we weren't sure where the closest gas station was and we were thirsty we bought some drinks and looked around. I noticed a lot of the shelves were partially empty. The only person working in the store seems much more interested in his computer than any attention to customers. Since I was running very low on gas I asked him where the closest gas station was and he said 17 miles either way. I said I'm really low on gas is one any closer than the other? can you tell me the name of the town? He said I don't know it's 17 miles either way. And unfortunately there was no cell phone coverage in this area. So we were stuck with old-fashioned worrying until we found about 8 miles in one direction the road ended and floudered our way to a gas station in Sebastopol. Will never stop back here again. read more
