I had an amazing experience today!! I went with an almost impossible tasks since I use cooper box color and wanted to go back to my brunette and some highlights. I did some research and I saw Roman work especially in brunettes and color correcting. I love how honest he was since I contacted him, by telling me what we can achieve and also being very mindful about my hair health. Gosh where do i even begin. Debated even posting this because ive been struggling to even re-visit this damage Zoe has done and still dealing with months later. During our session everything went as normal , talking getting to know each other until we went to the bowl to wash out the bleach. I was internally panicking when i saw how much of my hair broke off just by touching it. I thought maybe it was some bit of breakage. Didnt think too much of it and i still tipped her on top of that. The next day i realized what had been done because she finished kinda late.. omg My hair felt significantly thinner in density. I started to go section by section and found an insane amounts of short cut hairs. I spent the last 4 years growing out my hair and all my hard work, switching to heatless days to avoid damage, time and money spent to keep it healthy, just trashed. I immediately let Zoe know within a couple hours of the finished service and offered to fix it. I was so understanding and let her know about it to come up with a plan but she never acknowledged that she caused the chemical cut. I was shocked she let me walk out with those bandings on the back of my head. Did she think i wouldnt notice? Idk but that didnt sit right with me that she didnt speak up. She spent an hour blow dry my hair.. there was time to say something or fix it before i left. On the day of the re-do she said she mentioned some lowlights and a wet bleach wash but my hair turned out way darker than i had walked in. I felt a weird cold dismissal at the desk maybe because i didnt tip her for the re-do service? Before the dismissal at the chair i asked her if she would even want to continue to work with me to make sure she didnt feel uncomfortable continuing to work with me because some stylist are upset or offended when asked to do a re-do and ive never had to ask for a re-do. It was weird for me too, i was going to trust her again. But She acted completely normal and even said yes forsure id love to & even told me to text her for my next session that i needed soon in another month it two for a trip. Fast forward close my trip date.. i messaged her and no response. I waited a couple days and again sent a message and she had availability through their booking and she unfollowed me from instagram and completely ghosted me. I felt completely run over and used as a customer. I dont understand why she acted this way when she had done this all to my hair as if i was the problem. She has every right as a stylist to not want to work with me if she felt i would be a problem in the future for her but have some decency to communicate. A simple "i dont think we should work in the future" or "im not the right stylist for you" would have been respectable. But to ghost is wrong , Zoe. I was super understanding and even let her know i wasnt mad when it happened of course i was heart broken but completely ghosting a paying customer and trusting her to touch my hair was my biggest mistake. I was naive to be "understanding" i should not have paid $350 to get my hair ruined. I hope you learn to own up to your mistakes. Experiences like this are very traumatic, i hope you dont continue to do this to other women. Beware of Zoe. read more

Best salon in San Diego! This is hands down the best salon I've been too in San Diego. I've been to other salons but I have been returning here because I am so happy with my results. Chloe is the best hairstylist and she completely transformed my hair! Front desk is nice at check in, easy booking, pricing is reasonable, and staff is amazing! The products are so nice and good quality. The salon is also nicely decorated and well kept. I am always looking forward to my appointment because I know I can trust Chloe with my hair! I've been coming to this salon for about five years now for my cuts and color processes. Owner/stylist Candice (sp?) is the best! I've never trusted a hair professional more or had better results. (I've also never paid more! But I consider it worth it.) I need my hard-to-deal-with hair to look professional on camera and she excels in that respect. Candice, the owner of Diesel, reached out to me via phone, and made it known she cares about her salon, her stylists, and the clients as well. Really, it comes down to customer service and how valued someone feels as a client. Even if something does go wrong, as long as the salon shows you they care about your satisfaction, everything works out at the end. I think Candice did a great job in reaching out, mediating the situation, explaining all the different things that could have possibly contributed to such a rare scenario for virgin hair not catching color (such as possible shampoos and conditioners), and working with me to make it right. I am now a satisfied customer, Thank you Candice!!! (I considered deleting my review, but think it's worth showing that the salon does care about customer satisfaction when things don't go as planned, as this is very important to many customers). read more

Best salon experience ever!!!!!! I'm always anxious to try new salons because of bad experiences in the past. I recently moved to SD and needed to find a new hairdresser. I'm so thrilled to have found Diesel. They were extremely accommodating. Ari was the stylist that cut my hair. She was very kind and she listened to what I wanted. I have waist length hair and wanted a trim just to keep it healthy. She made sure that I was comfortable with the length before she started cutting. And she kept checking in with me to make sure it was up to my expectations. I also enjoyed that she didn't force me to make small talk when the conversation ended, since I consider myself pretty shy and reserved. It was all very casual and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. At the end, Ari asked if I wanted my hair blow dryed or curled. I told her she could do whatever she wanted to do since I'm pretty easygoing! But she insisted I pick what my heart desired haha. I chose wavy hair and she knocked it out of the ballpark! Making an appointment through Yelp was a breeze and they were able to accommodate my preferred time immediately. Zoe Bodie was my stylist, and she did a fine job. I was going from long to above shoulder short, and she gave me the cut I wanted (maybe just a tad shorter, but it'll grow out in a few weeks). My hair is naturally hard to style so after I washed out the "beach waves" she gave me (complimentary), my bob turned out just fine. I don't love it, but it could just be my hard to tame hair. Just a note that I think they price based on stylist experience, and it wasn't surprising why. After she blew out my hair as I was "done", she didn't brush off all the little trims that fell on my collarbone, so I was pretty itchy the rest of the day. I'm also not sure why you'd give the clients robes to wear on top of your clothes instead of regular salon drapes. My arms and neck were exposed, and my cut hairs just started poking into my sweater. Maybe they should give an option depending what service you're there for. Still, given the price of just $52 for a cut and a basic hair wash, I would recommend this salon. read more

I meant to leave this review a month ago but Well, the whole experience was disappointing. They didn't have any hair stylist available to wash and blow dry my hair so I wound up with an assistant stylist to do it - and it still cost over $70!!!! The whole time I was there, I had the unfortunate pleasure of hearing the staff gossiping about each other and discussing personal business. I heard them talk about how the owner is never there and lives in another city. They discussed other employees who were in rehab. And I even heard one girl on the phone arguing with someone. Did not have a good experience. I asked for all over color. But received all over highlights. I was quoted for $180 by the front desk and Zoe charged me $400. Not what I agreed to either. I came back and asked for my options to get the hair color I wanted. Unfortunately Zoe instead wanted to argue with me about it. It felt hostile and rude. I didn't feel like I wanted to sit in her chair for the next four hours. I came in calm and understanding, but felt like she didn't want to fix my hair and just wanted to argue. Customer service goes a long way. Please be kind to your customers if we are kind to you. Hopefully I can continue to feel comfortable to come back into Diesel and will just switch stylist. Or a different stylist can fix it. Or maybe it's time for a new salon. read more

If you hear you get booked with Johnny cancel and call Robert Cromeans Salon who will 100% leave your hair beautiful and if by any chance they mess up they will own it and fix it . Well not Johnny. I expected top notch skills since he charges as if he knows what he is doing ... maybe just maybe he is jisy trying to make money by making u schedule multiple visits. He left my hair just as when I walked in the first time but a tat lighter in the ends. He put on a semi permanent dark brown the first time I visited to cancel the res undertone from the dark Auburrn that I has underneath , then he scheduled me back 1 week later and he bleached the ends, I saw my hair had a nice white tone after he bleached it so figured he was on the right path to apply a nice color closer to what I shared w him but NOPE he applied a color that gave me exactly what I showed Johnny I did not want... he should have been able to recognize what color would have given him a cooler vs a warm lighter tone after my hair bleached out perfectly... If he knew I was Going to end up how he left me he should have " communicated " the minute I showed him the picture of the color I did not want but he said nothing ... had he told me we were not going to achieve my color I would have not wasted my time and money with him. The worse part is thr customer service. I let Johnny know Before paying that I was mot happy with color and he said to give it a couple days and I did and I communicated via Yelp that I needed help getting my hair corrected at no cost and ...crickets... first time in my life that I feel ripped off by a hairdresser... Again try Robert Cromeans before giving this place a try and I guarantee you will never leave with ugly hair. I will share my before , after and after ... I was charged 145 color and 90 for cut the first time plus I gave him a super star TIP, second time they charged me 245 for ugly hair and no TIP . In my reviews I never put how much I pay for services but ya"ll deserve to know what you will pay for bad service. read more
