I had high hopes when I chose Different Pointe of View for my boyfriend's birthday, but unfortunately, it fell flat. I'd requested multiple times patio or window seating to make the night special. They said they'd try, but when we arrived, we were placed right in the middle of the restaurant, even though window tables were clearly open. When I asked again, the host told me to just order inside and carry food outside myself, which is not exactly the fine dining experience I expected. Worse, our server was condescending throughout the meal, dismissing our request for outdoor seating by saying he only cared about "his table." He even made strange, belittling comments about directions while we looked out the window. To top it off, despite me calling ahead to plan a birthday surprise dessert, nothing special came, just a menu where he made sure to emphasize extra charges. Overall, the service felt dismissive and impersonal, definitely not what you expect from a place at this price point. I regret picking it for such an important evening. I wouldn't return. read more

Once in a while, you need to splurge. Enjoyed a happy birthday dinner with friend at a Different Pointe of View. It is at a Hilton Resort. Situated on top of a butte. Excellent views of the City. Shared a salad. Ordered the bacon wrapped tenderloin. The other entree served to friend was a duck dish. Food was tasty, service was excellent. You can park on top of the butte or they have a shuttle. Patio dining available. There is also a bar one floor below. A pleasant experience. Reservations are required. read more

Two stars for the setting, but that's it. The views are amazing from the bar and the patio on the lower level. We were there to celebrate my birthday with my family and spent over $2K. Service was not great (we had to pour our own wine, we were not checked in on at all after food was served). The waiter was not attentive to our table at all. We were also seated in the very back corner of the restaurant farthest from the windows and in a cramped corner. The waiter asked if we were celebrating anything and my husband told him it was my birthday. He said "happy birthday" without even looking at me and never acknowledged it again. Phenomenal view, great service from the entire staff (especially our server Bob who had us laughing all night), and the food was very good. No complaints! Some might say the food isn't up to par for the price level, but it's certainly not bad by any means. We had a very poor impression tonight right from the start and were surprised as this was our second time dining there. Our first experience was okay. The host/woman who seated us was really rude and her tone of voice to us was unprofessional. I tried to brush it off and continue to smile but she was very abrasive toward us. I felt very uncomfortable by the whole situation. We were shocked because our first experience went well. My husband got the pork and I got the chicken. I was not highly impressed with the chicken especially the sides, but the pork was good! Our waiter and the servers were kind and helpful. We've been here for our anniversary between my first review and now Sunday, Dec 1st. Bill was our waiter. The service is excellent. But I do have some issues. My husband ordered an iced tea, and there was no spoon accompanying it, to stir. This is a high end restaurant, it should go without saying to have a spoon to stir sugar with. We ordered salads, which were good. For my entree, I ordered salmon. It was cooked perfectly! My husband ordered steak, cooked medium rare. The meat was as tough as leather, maybe tougher. My husband was too nervous to say anything, as we had other diners all around us. We asked for take-home boxes, and Bill took away our entrees, but did not include the onion on top of my husband's steak. Did he eat it? :/ When my husband made the reservation, he indicated "anniversary". In the past, the restaurant would comp us a dessert. We ordered dessert, and got a "happy anniversary" chocolate, and a couple of (delicious) chocolates after. So, very tough meat, and no spoon w/iced tea. We'd have expected better. Breathtaking! Different Pointe of View definitely exceeded my expectations. The ambiance on the patio during "golden hour" gave DESERT LUXURY. The "desert oasis" cocktail enhanced our vibe while we gazed at the romantic rolling mountain views. Who doesn't love a little bourbon with a twist of lemon juice, Aperol, & Cardamaro? After enjoying the fire pit & sunset collab, it was time for us to check in for our reservation. Our waiter was knowledgeable & provided great wine suggestions to accompany our dinner selections. The garlic mussels paired with the house bread was SO WELL. I thoroughly enjoyed my spinach salad with the lemon vinaigrette. The star of the show was the sea bass & the lamb chops. The chef added small pieces of grapefruit to my dish to garnish the plate. My fiancés lamb chops were seasoned perfectly & the cornbread they paired it with was moist and flavorful. The flavor combos were different and unique but not too crazy. I loved the way the cocktails were very reasonably priced! I recently dined at Different Pointe of View with a group of friends. It was a very special occasion, as we were celebrating one of our friend's 90th birthday! Our group made a reservation about a month in advance. I'm deducting a star because the person my friend dealt with on the phone when making the reservation was not terribly friendly or helpful. But...we all really wanted to check this restaurant out, so the reservation was eventually sorted out. The process of driving up to Different Pointe of View is part of the experience. It's a little tough to find but luckily it wasn't dark and we were all able to find it. You park at the bottom of the building and then either take the elevator or stairs to the top floor. Our table was ready when we arrived at our appointed time and we were able to sit down immediately. Luis was our waiter and he did a super job of making us feel welcome, answering questions about the food and drink menus, and making recommendations. He even got one of the serving assistants to go outside on the patio and take photos of our group. The view is outstanding! We were all very impressed with the gorgeous views from the patio. It's definitely worth a visit just to take in the view. The food was outstanding. The bread and the dipping sauces were out of this world. I thoroughly enjoyed the Faroe Island Salmon, which was beautifully presented and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, as well as the decadent chocolate torte. Well without question the view is absolutely amazing and worth the visit. I had the sea bass and it was good, but not great as it came to the table lukewarm. Wow! What a fabulous place. I have been hearing how great the views were at night. Explaining and seeing are two different things! It was a last-minute decision to have drinks and dessert. So, hoping I didn't get shut down we made our way up to the restaurant. Yes! I was in luck. One of the young ladies up front was upbeat and polite. She was totally understanding and was happy to let us in 40 minutes to close. Also, with a wedding going on downstairs- it was not looking good. I was so happy to have been accommodated! We had higher expectations for this place... When making our reservation, we mentioned that we were celebrating our 8th anniversary. Based on previous reviews, we expected to be seated by a window--especially since it was a Tuesday night and the restaurant was less than half full. Instead, we were placed far from the windows. When we asked to move closer, we were told that all the good tables were already reserved or taken. For our meal, we ordered the crab cake, filet mignon, and duck. The crab cake was just okay. The duck was very tender, but the filet mignon was disappointingly greasy. There was so much butter on the purée that it covered the entire plate. I could have mentioned this to our waiter, but by then we had already waited well over an hour for our entrées. To make matters worse, our water glasses went unfilled for quite some time. My good friends, Ron and Anna, brought us here as a wedding present for me and my beautiful bride. From the second we walked though the door we were treated like we were an old friend. They seated us 30 minutes early than our reservation on seats that had a magnificent view Phoenix. But that wasn't the highlight. The waitstaff and food definitely steal the show. From the fillet to the scallops as well as the bass, everything was prepared perfectly. I might mention the margaritas are delicious as well. We didn't have room for desert but alas, we couldn't say no. If you are looking to impress, look no further. This place will do it. I can't say enough about how insanely perfect the experience was. Special shout out to Nash, our waiter. If you get the opportunity to sit at his table you won't be disappointed. I only regret I did not get his assistants name. The food was good, but both the service and the food didn't meet my expectations. I might give this place another try to see if my last visit experience is a routine or it was just bad luck! This was pretty incredible! The view and overall feel was incredible! All of the staff was very very nice. Note while photos are encouraged depending on your seating you cannot take videos that includes other guests. The food was so so yummy! My salmon was a little dry but everything else was sooo fantastic. Our fantastic server Nash started by asking about any allergies which was great because I do have a few allergies. Now there was one appetizer we ordered that we just didn't like which was the beef tartar but the carrot appetizer was soooooo yummy! Owner incredible server immediately got us a new appetizer and we weren't charged for the first we didn't like. Granted there was only a single bite taken out of it. I see they change their menu often so I don't recall the exact name of the carrot puree in the ravioli but WOW. I had the citrus cheesecake and crème brûlée and both were EXCELLENT. Their bread was also excellent with their dipping sauces omg DELICIOUS. There was a goat cheese spread, a cinnamon butter & a spinach pesto for the breads there was sourdough, French baguette and I think focaccia.
