My new favorite place in CT to grab quick and healthy food! So far, I've had two bowl variations and the hot honey chicken sandwich served on the most incredible housemade focaccia! My most preferred base of the three are the greens and my favorite sides are definitely the Broccoli and tomatoe Cucumber salad. The charred chicken is another favorite of mine and my friend loved the carrots, sea salt avocado & brown rice combo with charred chicken and hot honey and garlic aioli! All of their desserts are a must try as well and their house made ginger mint lemonade is to die for and sweetened with agave! read more

I've only had takeout from this place in the past until recently. My wife and I went there in person on a holiday since most other restaurants were closed. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. The chicken was horrible. It looked good but I bit into it and it was very fatty and had a funny taste. I couldn't eat it. The Mac and cheese wasn't much better. It had a gray color and a strange spice flavor similar to the chicken. Took a few bites and threw away most of it. The food was overpriced for what it is. We had heard good things about DIG's new location in Stamford, so we stopped by and picked up one of their dinner boxes so we could try a little bit of everything! Everything was fresh and delicious, and I especially loved their garlic aioli to pair with everything, and the focaccia was some of the best! I recently checked out the new DIG in Stamford and had a great experience. I hadn't been to one in about 10 years (back then they were DIG Inn) and I didn't love it. I think they must have done a makeover of the menu since then as it seemed more coherent. They had a variety of bowls, salads, sandwiches, pizza, sides and desserts to choose from. I ordered the avocado grain bowl and added salmon. My partner ordered the Caesar salad with crispy egg and we ordered salmon kids meal for our toddler. Everything was so fresh and flavorful! It's the kind of food where you feel good after eating it but it tastes so good that you will crave it too! We decided that DIG will be a staple in our rotation as we are looking for healthy and delicious food options. Service was also great! Can't wait to return! DIG has a very nice wide variety of options to choose from (healthy and otherwise). I like how they add seasonal dishes to the menu for a limited time, to keep it interesting. This place reminds me of a healthier version of the "Boston Market" restaurant. Everything I ordered was pretty good except the salmon. It was way too salty and it didn't seem fresh due to the overpowering "fishy" smell and after-taste. It was much thinner than the typical piece of salmon that you'd buy from the grocery store. Perhaps they pound it thin with a mallet? Charred chicken with pesto sauce is highly recommended. The macaroni and cheese has an acquired taste and look (overcooked pasta and cheddar too sharp). But overall, it is pretty decent. The only potatoes I saw were sweet potatoes. Why not also have regular mashed potatoes or scalloped potatoes as an option too? I wish this restaurant had a better choice of desserts. read more

I used to go to Dig Inn for a healthy lunch back on Wall Street ten years ago, so was happy to try this place as I was driving through Stamford. Very nice inside with outdoor seating and friendly workers. The salmon was pretty fresh - no complaints. But the charred chicken was just too dry. The sweet potatoes were not cooked enough and the brussels too charred. The sauces-- ordered 4 on the side just didn't have good flavor. The kids meal is a good deal but the cut apples served with it were old/brown/awful. Think they should do away with cut up fruit for the kids and add something better. read more

Love this place! They always have great options for any time of the day and it's such a nice spot to have a casual meal. The crispy chicken is definitely one of my favorites but each of the combinations I've tried always go so well together. The service is always quick and friendly too! The good: Plenty, open format indoor and outdoor seating; ample parking space; good variety of drinks The not so good: Food prep has gone downhill compared to the time in 2023 when they opened in Stamford. It was disappointing and sad to see such fresh, in-season ingredients like carrots and broccoli getting brutally destroyed through ignorant, greasy, over-charred cooking. But mind you, where sufficient cooking was needed, it was missing such as the undercooked, raw yet way too greasy chicken. My order also had maple glazed crispy baked tofu which was obviously missing the maple glaze until I asked for it to be poured over after it was served. I am a big fan of DIG and will still be it's just that I would need to avoid the Stamford location which is a bummer being a local. read more

I have to say this place is a mid level disappointment. Though this was an app order, Mains and Sides looked thrown together. A part of my order was missing and the chicken was undercooked/pink. My husband didn't want eat it. Upon calling the restaurant Management was condescending and not helpful... saying he would walk the through the app to get a refund, which is insulting. Have came here a few times but the place lacks consistency. One time I come and the food is good and the next time not so good. My normal meal is the grilled chicken and sweet potato. Dig stamford is a fantastic location for meeting up with a friend or two or enjoying lunch with bae. When entering we were greeted by staff who were on the floor explaining the menu to customers or regularly cleaning tables and checking in on customers. Now that was very different from my experience at Dig before they rebranded! We ordered at the register sat at our table and our food came within minutes. We all loved our veggies , steak was good and chicken was amazing. The salmon could have used some seasoning, possibly the only item not seasoned. The staff at this location were very friendly and made us feel welcomed. It is also a very beautiful restaurant, it gives a tulum natural vibe. Very aesthetically beautiful. This location is also kid friendly as they have books , crayons, and chalk available in a little children section (not pictured). I definitely will be returning as this was one of my favorite restaurants to go to when I lived in nyc. read more

Had a second bad experience in a row at this Dig. We used the app to order a veggie bowl and a chicken avocado ranch sandwich. The veggie bowl was fine, but the sandwich was decidedly not. There was one mushy piece of avocado on one half of the sandwich, nothing on the other half. Also, they neglected to put any Ranch on the sandwich at all. Lastly, and most disturbingly, there was no bottom piece of focaccia on one half of the sandwich. I had to drive back to the restaurant to return this disappointment. It then took almost 20 minutes to refund the cost of the sandwich. For $15, you'd be better off going to a local deli. read more

Got to come here for the preview before their official grand opening. I already loved DIG before but this one's extra special. Totally different vibes love the retro feel. This one's more of a sit down restaurant style. The focaccia bread sandwiches were sooo good. Staff was super friendly. So glad to have this spot in town, just what we needed! In my experience the food is well prepared - particularly the veggies are still a little crunchy which I like. The chicken is fresh and flavorful. What's surprising is how generous portions are. Not skimping on the sizes. I'm full with a bowl. Got the focaccia side - amazing. Like fresh from a bakery! This was my first visit to a Dig, and I thought it was honestly fantastic. The staff was particularly great. Nice to have somewhere to go where the food is just simply nourishing and tasty- and where you have the option to go super healthy or more heavy calorically. The sauces are key. Mix the garlic aioli with their hot sauce you will not be disappointed. ( Only constructive crit. is that I think the caesar dressing needs work). Moved to Stamford from Manhattan, we missed dig inn which used to be our favorite lunch spot. Finally they came to stamford! Everything is farm fresh, perfectly seasoned and well executed. Even better, they have a cute area for kids and my daughter has been obsessed with the toys and books every time we go. Today we also met Mike who was incredible.
