Yum.... Everything is delish and you get a ton of food. The Mac and cheese stood out to my teens.

If you want a fast, casual, filling (unlike Sweetgreen lol), and healthy lunch, I highly recommend DIG!! I got greens for my base, mac and cheese and kale caesar salad for my two sides, hot honey chicken for my meat, and the sriracha and garlic aioli sauces. The greens were fresh, the mac and cheese was quite good and had a nice breading on top, and the kale caesar had the perfect amount of dressing and some cashews for crunch. The hot honey chicken was my favorite part of the bowl; it was juicy and perfectly marinated!! The sriracha sauce was not as spicy as actual sriracha and was a bit sweet, and the garlic aioli was not overpoweringly garlicy. Overall, this was really good!! It was around $15 in total, but you can't get two meals out of it like you can with a Chipotle or Cava bowl. read more

Solid fast casual spot with affordable and tasty food. The interior is quite nice and inviting with solid seating options, and the staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The options are all fantastic, each item from the Mac and cheese to the rice and chicken is packed with freshness and great flavors, even the sauces were all fantastic, all complementing each other extremely well. The combinations of what you could get is endless, and all at a fairly reasonable price especially given the portions and quality of the food. Would highly recommend, even for takeout with options such as their dinner box, and would definitely return. read more

I loved Dig (back when it was Dig Inn) in New York and Boston and was super happy when it came to DC. I've ordered in store once and via Door Dash once and I can safely say it's still the Dig Inn I knew and loved (just minus the Inn). It is confusing if you're in the store since the signage isn't helpful and the workers weren't super nice (luckily I had plenty of experience), but basically, you order a base, a protein and then two sides. I love the meatballs with mac and cheese and carrots or kale salad (I know I know, this isn't healthy). The hot sauce is good. The aioli is not. read more

I'm SO HAPPY Dig Inn is in DC now!! The New Yorker in me was shocked. I'm a person who can't have mac + cheese without sweet potatoes, so I always get that with chicken, brown rice + broccoli. It's hard to find fast food that is genuinely good for you. The ambiance is a great place to study, meet friends, or go on a date. There's distilled water, too. Dig just opened recently in Georgetown. Close to the main road, it's very convenient to walk to. Customers can either get 3 sides or 2 sides+1 main. I ended up getting tofu (main), Mac n cheese (side), and roasted carrots (side). The Mac n cheese was really good. I really enjoyed their sriracha too; it paired well with the tofu. My friend described Dig as a mix of Cava and a Whole Foods hot bar, and I think that's an apt description! read more

All of my coworkers rant and rave over DIG, so I finally was able to try it out. I beat the lunch rush coming in so i was able to take my time to create my order. The staff were very helpful and knowledgable with the food choices. They gave me their personal preferences of what they enjoyed from the restaurant as well. I enjoyed my food. Everything was fresh and light on the stomach. They even offered me a discount for being a first time customer. The pricing is reasonable and the portion size is worth the price. The customer seating is very clean and spacious. The lighting is natural and makes the seating serene. I will definitely be returning. read more

Mediocre fast casual fare with no distinct characteristics to separate it from mere "food." Bonus points for hideous service. Once an employee disparaged another in front of me in a belittling way. Another time, an employee who was allegedly a "trainee" shunned me as I requested help with a takeout order and told me to sit back down and wait. But I'm a very rude manner. Ended up leaving with no food (although one very nice employee who is always the nicest by far when I go in offered to fulfill my order immediately once they realized what was going on). My experience at Dig was extremely overwhelming. We have been waiting for Dig to open for months now and were so excited to finally check them out. The ordering process was extremely confusing, especially for those who are not familiar with the brand. There were no instructions on how to order on the paper menu nor the menu board. When it was my turn to order, I asked the lady at the counter how the process worked. For starters, it was extremely loud inside so I felt as though we were yelling at each other. Anyways, what I heard her say was that you can pick one grain, one greens, and two sides. So I did exactly that! I picked farro, some sort of salad (btw- there were no labels on what each dish was), beans, and then when I said 'carrots', she immediately interrupted me and said "that would be an extra $5". I was so confused and expressed to her that the carrots would be my 2nd side. She then said sarcastically, "do you see that big 2?" At that point, I just wanted to get out! Fast forward to the food. The garlic aioli that was used was DRENCHED in salt. It was so salty that I could feel the actual salt granules on my tongue. Everything else as far as the greens, farro, and beans (which is hard to really mess up) tasted just fine. Overall, I loved the concept of Dig and definitely see it thriving in Georgetown. However, I wish there was more guidance on how to order. If I had known, I would have ordered something completely different. Would I go back? Healthy fast casual places are one of my favorite types of restaurants. I ordered a tofu bowl with some veggies and a side salad. Even if you're not a fan of similar places like Sweet Greens or Cava, DIG also offers many sandwich options as well as hot market plates with sides like meatballs and Mac and cheese. Can you DIG it? Unfortunately not. The ordering process was confusing and even though we were the only ones in the place, none of the 6-7 folks working there greeted us or asked us if we wanted to order. We kinda felt like ghosts until we spoke up and someone finally helped us. Also, one of the employees declined to go back to the storage area and get more knives when I asked for one (since there were none left on the flatware cart) ... I guess it was an imposition? Hot honey chicken bowl was fine. Spicy salmon bowl was not ... salmon was kinda funky (and grayish) ... so we actually did an extremely rare thing and asked the manager to take it back (he did give us another protein to replace it). Broccoli was under cooked and avocado was under ripe (too bad we didn't have a knife to cut them into smaller pieces). Brownie that we brought home to my teenager daughter was dismissed by her sweet-tooth as dry (and left mostly uneaten). Hopefully our experience was a fluke and they DIG their way out. read more

This place has been open for less than a week and had to try it. The interior is clean and fresh. Minimal seating inside but there are some tables outside. The food itself is nice and customizable. Bowls, salads, and Sandwiches are the bulk of the menu. They have predesigned options or build your own. I got the Hot Honey Bowl but I think they ran out of the glazed char chicken as mine was regular grilled chicken. The service was really great. Cognizant of dietary restriction and allergies. Ordered Uber Eats through this restaurant and was excited to try as had heard good things. One order did not have Charred Chicken as requested. This issue pales in comparison to the horrors discovered upon biting into the Crispy Chicken. Although fried golden brown on the outside, the inside was completely raw. As a bonus note, the dressing proportions were laughable. I've never left a review before but was disturbed to see fairly high ratings for a restaurant serving raw chicken. A few things to consider...ambiance is nice. Relatively clean and minimalistic. We walked in and they have the menus near the cash register but they have you order on the other side. The menu that's on the wall is confusing(where you're intended to order)..and has too many words, no visuals and all scrunched together. It's hard to read and all disorienting to begin with. Next the glass barrier is too high and you can't hear employees well on the other end. On the topic of food...I have 4 cucumber ends in my kale Caesar salad. The tomatoes were too ripe...and cucumber had been sitting in dressing for too long. The best part was the actual kale Caesar dressing...AMAZING. I would come back just for this. Today was DIG's opening day in Georgetown, so I decided to go in and try the food. It's a healthy, fast casual place serving bowls, plates, salads, and sandwiches. I opted to create my own bowl with 1/2 rice 1/2 greens, salmon, cauliflower, sweet potatoes and pesto. I enjoyed the cauliflower and sweet potatoes, but everything else was meh. On 9/10, I ordered four meals and one cookie via Doordash for $122.51 and only received the cookie and two sides. The rest of the order was never delivered. More than a month later, Doordash and DIG have still not managed to refund me for all of the missing food items. I can't imagine I will ever order from here again. Terrible experience! read more
