Yay new food truck! I don't mean for this area, I mean in general - this place is brand new, and now I get the reap the sweet first review rewards. I was glad to see a truck outside, and a new one, so instantly bee lined to it. Later my Indian coworkers would inform me that Dil Se translates to "from the heart". While the menu was limited, I instantly went on yelp to see what people recommend, only to discover how new this truck was. Fortunately for those of us who have trouble deciding, there is a combo option of two: so between the vegetable curry, chicken curry, and chicken tikka, I went with the two chicken dishes. Also, as a sucker for garlic naan, had to get an order of that as well, and because I was going to town they gave me the mango lassi on the house. Between the curry and tikka, I preferred the tikka. Thick, flavorful sauce. The curry was also good, but I preferred the tikka. Rice was excellent, and I did get a great container. Food was 4 stars. At $13, a bit pricey, though I was completely full. Something like the combo with a piece of naan at $10 might be a better deal, but up to them to decide. Looking forward to seeing this truck again. Update: the Truck did come back again. They had goat and chicken tikka. The chicken was cooked perfectly tender, much better than the first time. But the goat stole the show. I'm usually a bit cautious when it comes to goat - little bones and all. But the goat was likewise tender, flavorful, and with the naan had lunch and dinner in a convenient togo box. And I got more than 5 pieces of lamb.

My gourmet lunch after leaving the doctor's office: chicken tikka masala and naan.

Delicious chicken tikka masala! I was leaving a doctor's appointment when the scent of various spices from the food truck wafted through the parking lot. I followed my nose and was rewarded. The price was reasonable: $10.75 for the chicken and a side of naan. I only wish that their portions were bigger (more chicken, there's lots of rice). That's the only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars. But it's ok. I am on a diet. I will be following Dil Se throughout the Bay Area.

This was pretty good compared to other Indian food trucks I have tried. I would have given 5 stars but the service was soooooo slow. Very nice people though. I had the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and mango lassi. My total was $14.50 for all.

Taste ok, teeny tiny portions, overpriced for an Indian food truck.

The best of the bunch was the dahi batata puri, but it still didn't quite hit the spot. It was definitely on the sweeter side and I felt like the dahi/yogurt wasn't as creamy as I prefer. The chinese bhel was okay, but didn't have much flavor. Lastly the ragda pattice had so much potential. The flavor was there, but it was insanely spicy- even as someone with a med/high spice tolerance. You could feel the burn traveling down to your stomach. All of us found it unbearable and worse of all felt the affects for a day after. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes but after the all the discomfort of the meal- I don't feel inclined to return.

Yesterday, I ordered a Vada Pav, Shalimar Egg Mughlai (on their recommendation from their list of egg dishes), and a Veg Frankie -- and honestly, none of it lived up to the hype(5 stars currently) or price point. Vada Pav: It was okay. The "mirchi" served alongside was literally a raw Thai green chili. Really? At least pan-fry it with some salt and oil to enhance the flavor. For over $10 with taxes, this was already pricier than better Vada Pavs you can get at places like Elco Drive, and yet it offered nothing exceptional. Frankie: This one made me genuinely angry. It was a soggy maida roll stuffed with the same aloo masala from the Vada Pav, plus a few sad shreds of cabbage. That's it. And they had the audacity to charge $12 for it. ($1.50 for cheese, lol I am glad we didn't add)This isn't a Frankie -- it's a lazy repackaged Vada Pav with no flavor or creativity. They threw in some pickled jalapeños on the side, which only added confusion. If you're running a fusion menu(well partially), at least mention it upfront instead of misleading customers. Egg Shalimar Mughlai: At $13, it was passable but still not impressive. The bun on the side was not toasted or anything. Better than the Frankie, but nothing I'd recommend or return for. I was so excited for trying this place but, overall, this place is overpriced, underwhelming, and frankly disappointing. If your Vada Pav and Frankie are practically identical, maybe inform customers before they order both. I wouldn't recommend Maya Kitchen -- save your time, appetite and money and go somewhere else. Thank me later.

They have interesting dishes with paneer and chicken as well. We ordered two dishes- Leela lasun keema - This dish was intriguing, with cheese, grated egg, and a rich, spicy gravy. The portion size was generous; a single person won't be able to finish it with just three breads. It was very filling, we took back home the leftover and enjoyed it later with some rotis. They have another version of this- "kachu" with runny eggs instead of grated eggs.. well thought option! Volcano egg biryani- The dish is as interesting as its name suggests. The base is an omelette, and the rice is flavorful with bell peppers, finely chopped veggies, and aromatic spices. The center is with a tomato-based curry. The cheese on the side was amazing, and I loved it. The spicy guava drink is super refreshing with a playful mix of spice, salt, sourness, and the sweetness of guava. I really enjoyed it! They have music playing and the place is lit, creating a total vibe for spending time in the evening on a lazy weekend/ after work, or post-workout. The food is pure indulgence and covered our protein requirements with eggs, along with some fat to burn off. Kinda guilt free. Also, they have games, garba events and other many interesting things going on at different times. Superb vibes, never disappoints! Conveniently located in Sunnyvale - easy to find parking. Ask the owners for their recommendations based on your preferences. They are very nice to talk to and are super passionate about this truck, having brought something they loved from New York to the Bay Area.

The leela lasun kheema was delicious but had a slightly bitter aftertaste, probably from the loads of garlic. Overall, solid spot, will definitely come back. I had a really nice chat with one of the owners there and they all seem like really lovely people--kind hearted with little kids around so hopefully they stay around for some time! They were still redoing the front of house so not sure when they will open fully but looking forward to trying more Azerbaijan food. Since I've never had Azerbaijan food before, I asked for a recommendation and he said all of the food is good but did say that the chicken shawarma was big and I was feeling a bit hungry so went with that. It came with fries and some peppers, which reminded me of banana peppers. Not spicy with a briney taste to it, great accompaniment. He also tossed in this yogurt drink (I didn't get the name) that was tasty. Overall, good food and will be back to try their lamb kebabs and the burger as well and interested to see what their pizzas will be like as well. This is their most recommended dish and for good reason. Side of fries were nice and crispy too: I also tried the grilled chicken plate and that was pretty good as well. Again, good portion! On my first visit, they offered a drink for free and I tasted the Ayran (yogurt based drink). Friendly people. Next time, I'll try the Baku Chicken sandwich. Btw, it's in a small parking lot next to a restaurant, and you should have parking spots at the back. There always seems to be a decent crowd occupying the tables near the food truck.
